  1. I'm assuming this isn't a low turn-count PT since I don't see how you can get Micaiah to level 11 in the minimum amount of turns.
  2. Going back for a second Leo getting beastfoe is like Mia getting adept right?
  3. Wow I leave for two days and all this is posted... Why are you comparing Edward with massive favouritism to Zihark when you really are trying to compare Edward to Calill? It means nothing. I can do the same with Meg/Nolan and get similar results.
  4. How about we give her an item that can ORKO the hardest enemies for the DB then give her staves once that section of game is over?
  5. What do you consider to be twice as good? Getting twice as many kills? Cutting twice as many turns needed to beat the game?
  6. Why are we arguing 4-E-5 like it will be the deal breaker of which heron gets picked? Think of Caine/Giffica when comparing Rafiel/Reyson for endgame.
  7. No one is arguing that Reyson is not good, this is top tier afterall. It's just that Reyson isn't better than Ike/Haar because of his availability (also stoning then grassing in each pre-4-E chapter doesn't help), having competition in 4-E (Rafiel) and to vigor three or more units you would need a group of canto units, which doesn't happen as often outside of 4-E(especially on big maps) since most of them are spread out so that I can clear the map faster. He also isn't the equivilant of the unit he cantos either as enemy phase > player phase. Edit: Also why should Reyson get all the credit anyways?
  8. I'm fine with Ike > Haar > Volug, but Reyson needs to drop. On Smogon when we talk about whether a Pokemon is good or not without battling we call that theorymon. Fire Emblem has always been big on PEMN, but you can't totally disregard personal experience. In theory Reyson and herons are pretty great, but in practice the guy has a few flaws. Availability - Reyson has 7 chapters before endgame of availability which is pretty underwhelming. There is a reason why the Royals and others aren't in top or high tier. He also spends the first turn of every chapter using a laguz stone/gem then needs to pop an olivi grass every now and then, which isn't helping his already low availability. This is different from other laguz using laguz stuff and everyone using vulnaries because Reyson doesn't have an enemy phase. Durability - While Reyson shouldn't be attacked there is always a possibility, especially when he's vigoring characters to go further. However Reyson's speed is good enough that he won't get doubled until endgame though he does need to watch out for those archers. Vigoring - Probably the biggest issue. A big assumption is that Reyson can vigor your four best units and while true the chances of that actually happening is very rare. First of all getting four units in formation while not wasting their player phase is quite rare and realistically you'll end up vigoring 2 or 3 units a turn if Reyson isn't grassing. Second it's rare that your best units will be near each other outside the beginning as the best units in part 3 and 4 can handle themselves and will spread out in order to cover more of the map so that we can finish the chapter early. Third Reyson is only giving units an extra player phase and while good most of the action happens during enemy phase. One could argue that Reyson could vigor a unit so that he can move forward to the next batch of enemies, but the problem with that is Reyson can now not catch-up to the unit to vigor him again unless you slow down effectively reducing the impact Reyson did for that turn. IMO I would like to see Reyson at top of high, but bottom of top will also work. Btw I know that we shouldn't be voting, but I still like to give my two cents worth.
  9. IIRC FE9 Astra did less damage than a critical would have done.
  10. Yeah unless you don't want to use any of the units in part 2 later on there isn't much reason to end it earlier. Even Haar doesn't mind the extra level or two in this level.
  11. You know as great as Ilyana is at carrying stuff to the GM she can only take eight stuff (plus an extra skill if you master seal her). From all those stat-ups, skills, sellables and even forges (don't know why) being available to the GM you can't really assume they all go to them because she doesn't have enough room. Maybe someone should create a list of the most likely items to be transfered with maybe a couple of substitutes.
  12. Naesala only has S strike and has to rely on tear to kill some enemies while Tibarn doesn't really. Also the difference was made without transfer.
  13. IIRC Gatrie vs. the Hawks became whether or not getting the Master Crown was a negative (IMO it's not, see Mia with Adept). Everyone got tired arguing and decided to compromise by putting Gatrie in the middle of the two.
  14. You know I've never understood the mentality of Reyson = your 4 best units. Besides the usual defence problems, needing a couple of turns to transform and grass and providing only player phases in many chapters where enemy phase > player phase we have the fact that Reyson isn't always vigoring four units. Not everyone has canto and until 3-E I'm usually averaging 2-3 units and even with more canto units I may not always get all four spots as it causes the team to become too restrictive. Also why would I keep my best units near each other? I usually send one to a pack of enemies so he can solo it during enemy phase. Unless the map is tiny the average Reyson vigor should consist of one great unit along with other good units that may or may not total to four.
  15. Why would anyone? Shinon does pretty well ORKO most units and he's usually a backline unit and doesn't need the extra defence. Also for Mist there are plenty of other supports that provide defense and want water.
  16. I agree with Soren > Calill. Calill only wins once she can double which won't happen regularly until 4-3/4/5 unless she has Rexflame which then means she'll only double 7 units (and needs to get to SS magic first) before 4-E-3. I think this is a case where availability wins.
  17. Brom's part 3 is okay. He 2RKO pretty much everyone and with this being hard mode not many units on Ike's team are fast enough to double and ORKO until late part 3. Seriously the only units that are doubling most of part 3 are Nephenee, Heather, Shinon, crowned Gatrie, Mia, Ranulf, Janaff and Ulki. The others either need a speedwing or don't start doubling until later in the part. Also the ones that can double some are having trouble ORKOing.
  18. A +4 Mt, +9 Crit Thunder Tome (about the same stats as Arcthunder) costs 99 per use while Arcthunder costs 102 per use. It also has better hit.
  19. Speaking of Soren why is Calill > Soren? Calill doesn't double anything Soren doesn't until she promotes in part 4 (assuming no early crown or it'll be later). She only beats Soren during endgame while Soren is contributing for all of part 3.
  20. What's this talk about Lethe/Lyre getting strike during 3-1? I remember someone training Ena's strike to SS during 4-1 and when endgame came it went back to A. I'm not sure if the same applies to Lethe/Lyre and even if it did it'll only be a few hits since they are hard to control and they also have no olivi grass.
  21. But Jerod doesn't move and only has one range.
  22. I agree, two range is nice to have in endgame, but not having it is not bad. E-1 - Royals can easily kill the generals while most two range units are mages that anyone else can kill. E-2 - This is about Ike and the BK, any levels/kills gained here is just a bonus E-3 - Like said before most two-ranged weapons can't ORKO dragons and nobody really wants to go against multiple dragons during enemy phase. E-4 - Spirits can be easily killed during player phase E-5 - Same as above. Well since it doesn't look like Pelleas is going anywhere does anyone think Mordecai > Aran? Both are walls that don't double without help, but Mordecai can take a lot more punishment. He has more move, but has a transformation guage.
  23. Well by part 4 we have the entire DB, the entire CRK, maybe Tanith, Rolf, Ilyana, maybe Rhys and Lucia. The 4-P crown exists only in the japanese version (according to Serenes) so what they are fighting for are crowns from 3-3, 6, 9, 11 and 12. 3-3 is going to Gatrie, 3-9 may go to Geoffrey or a GM/CRK in 3-11, same with the 3-11 crown. The 3-6 and 3-12 crown could have been used on a DB before part 4 (Tauroneo or someone else during 3-13)
  24. I'm not too sure about Pelleas/Lehran. Lehran is basically immortal for the one chapter and he can easily have a blessed light tome from Sanaki (or Micaiah) and can deal a lot of damage to the auras. He also does not take a unit slot. For Pelleas Master Crowns are wanted by many units and he is usually outclassed by the other mages and Elincia during endgame since they can also attack if nothing else needs healing. Also he needs to take a unit slot during endgame.
  25. Yeah I may have overrated Edward's display avoid, I just remember it was in the 80's. Seems like it'll be usually between 85 and 90.
