  1. But, I think what was most helpful for me was reading through the game's routines with a debugger, being able to see what the game was doing and how. After using a debugger, assembly became ten times easier to understand for me, just for being able to see what the code is doing and change it readily.

    that's great, that's probably one of the best ways to learn if not the best way to learn, ultimately hands-on experience/figuring stuff out for yourself is the way to go, [weird analogy incoming] at best tutorials will show you how a race is done and put you at the starting line, they won't race for you

    and don't forget that competition brings the best out of people so share your hypothetical driving skills with everyone or you will just have an unrewarding race where you sit in first place

    I may or may not have been playing Need for Speed a little over an hour ago okay?!

  2. no

    fuck you ghast

    you said no to my super high HP/speed/defense/resistance sheep with no actual strength or skill to attack with that's purely for tanking and maybe dropping some awesome loot

    AND you said no to my half walnut half demon (YOU GOT SOMETHING AGAINST NUTS?!)

    you don't actually intend to take any of our ideas do you?!?! or just not mine, asshat

  3. Seems like the weapon rank bonuses are going to sort of polarize weapons more.

    Axes will be even stronger while maintaining their lower hit.

    Sword users tend to have decent if not high skill and certain classes even get crit bonuses, so the weapon rank crit bonuses will make them even more likely to crit.

    Lances are just sort of the middle ground with buffs to both

    Light magic tomes tend to have higher base crit than other tomes (only slightly but still) and now it's getting even more of a crit bonus (+20 means crit rates are going to be around the high 20s or 30s for characters... o_O)

    Technically this is just a theory based on observations but I pointed it out to make sure you realized the potential consequences of doing this... it's just a theory but I think weapons will become even more polarized in their uses

    Toodles~

  4. Thank you for sharing your stupidly obvious observations

    From first love straight to marriage? Very idealistic and unrealistic.

    Every character screams virgin. Almost all, if not all, female characters are pure maiden-like waifus who never had a BF in the past. Which relates to the point above - first love straight to marriage - unrealistic.

    Seriously thank goodness it is unrealistic, I would freaking hate to have a realistic, idealistic thing. Oh my gosh that would be awful in so many ways and is not what I want or need in my FE game (having any of it at all in an FE game is controversial enough if you ask long-time FE fans)

    ...

    indeed, we might be on the receiving end of a troll, but being on the internet means taking such risks

  6. Still not sure how to react to the "we're Ubisoft, we turn Rayman Legends into a delayed non-exclusive, delay Watch_Dogs and expect people to buy it, and make Wii U games only to store them for 6 months" thing. Not necessarily all bad, especially from a business perspective, I just... I don't even, I'm just kind of in shock this is actually a thing >_>;

    ANYWAY, going to copy/paste my offer for people to join a friendly skype chat to discuss Nintendo's E3 conference tomorrow as it comes (hopefully it shows FE stuff but even if it doesn't I'm guessing quite a few of us are FE fans)

    See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icfu6S7yQKs

    Put this URI into your browser to join our Skype chat.

    skype:?chat&blob=-f8YyPy7xLD4-n_IyU28MHFeVryVmQC33GWAt0_aMDAzryuUGHRcBnfK

    It's just to discuss the games and such live as it happens. If there's not enough interest it might not pan out though, haha. We might not even see Fire Emblem there, though I sincerely hope that's not the case and we get lots of nice footage of at least one Fire Emblem-related game that isn't Super Smash Bros., lol.

    Please keep negativity, trolling, etc. to a minimum. Essentially, anyone who considerably detracts from an enjoyable chat atmosphere will be removed. Doubt we'll have any problems, just throwing that out there.

    EDIT: If the Skype URI doesn't work or something you can also add me as a contact (ballin1337) and message me to add you and I will

  7. It's based on events, just edit the allied unit list in a chapter using the Event Assembler... even though I say "just" though it takes some working knowledge of events and the event assembler and possibly some other things to do. :\ You may have more luck with more help by asking in your own thread though.

  8. a small part of the problem is many people don't understand Japanese and the unfamiliarity with the language can often contribute to a greater sense of quality... because they might not know how they usually speak etc. and can't tell a good VA vs. a bad one as well

    personally I prefer dubs whenever it's quality, and there are some ones I found quality. granted it's mostly perspective/opinion/preferences in the end but English is my native language so >_>;

    other reasons dubs can be bad:

    - low budgets

    - not familiar with the material

    - not able to conver the Japanese way of talking/emotion to English

    - changing the language too much where things become too... localized, like Americanized, and people are throwing around dumb expressions or saying things out of character (compared to the original Japanese versions, which generally know how characters are supposed to be portrayed etc. the best)

    - people watching subs first and getting massively biased towards the voices they associate with the characters

    - general weebiness

  9. *facepalm* gotta love how people jump to conclusions about who will/won't be in based on very small factors

    Not really related, but it's funny how on the official site, Awakening is the only Fire Emblem game they're advertising. See Marth and Ike's pages.

    Granted, NOA nuked the Shadow Dragon site, so Awakening was next relevant thing for Marth, but the Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn sites still work. Plus Ike isn't really in Awakening, other than in the DLC. [/quote}

    Yeah, was thinking the same thing, and I came to the conclusion that it's just much better to advertise a newer game rather than an older one--no point in advertising a game where new copies are hard to find and they won't really profit and such. It is sort of unfitting to associate FE13 and Ike, but on the other hand, it'd kind of be dumb from their standpoint to advertise FE9 or FE10 when the games are so old and they're not really making money off of them anymore.
