Je suis is I am...

So, saying Je suis 18 ans, is saying I am 18 years. Translates badly in English, but, it still works.

Yeah, but, I was told you were supposed to use "j'ai"... Then again, you probably know stuff like this better than I do. like what the deal is with that me te se stuff

Lux, "J'ai" is "I have".

You have 18 years? Lololol.

Except according to what I was taught you use "I have" for a bunch of things you wouldn't in English. Like "I have hunger" instead of "I am hungry". J'ai faim instead of Je suis faim.

No idea if Quebec french and France french are different for this, or which one they tried to teach me back in school.

(how many ninjas was that before me?)
