Raven Posted June 25, 2010 Share Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) After several restarts of Ch12 (a combination of Hector getting killed and turn counts going over what I'm happy with) I managed to complete it in 7 turns. Secret Book collected, Rapier sold and 5 Vulneraries bought, and the Red Gem sold and an Iron lance, axe, sword and bow were bought. Rebecca also got a level mainly from taking down damaged Peggies. Time to recruit some Guy in 13, hurrah. Just to recap, my drafted 8 are: Priscilla, Oswin, Guy, Ninian, Rebecca, Canas, Jaffar and Renault. Ch. 11 = 7 turns Ch. 12 = 7 turns Total = 14 turns EDIT: Ch.13 done in 7 turns. Hector got lucky on turn 6 enemy phase when he criticalled the boss, otherwise it would have been 8 turns. Recruited Guy, while Rebecca gained another much needed level. Ch. 11 = 7 turns Ch. 12 = 7 turns Ch. 13 = 7 turns Total = 21 turns Next chapter I plan to rush to Priscilla with Marcus to start getting her experience as soon as I possibly can. EDIT: Ch. 14 done in 10 turns, which I think isn't as fast as the last time I did it. Meh, oh well. Onto Talons. Ima kill 'em all. Chapters 15 and 16 are complete, in 7 (or 8?) turns and 6 turns respectively. I missed out on the heavy spear because I couldn't get any of my units there in time and complete it in 6 turns, so meh. But I did get the red gem from the other village, and did some shopping for valuable ranged weaponry. Ch. 11 = 7 turns Ch. 12 = 7 turns Ch. 13 = 7 turns Ch. 14 = 10 turns Ch. 15 = 7 (8) turns Ch. 16 = 6 turns Total = 44 (45) turns Onto Ch. 17. Couple of rules that could use improvement/clarification: 1) Chapter restarts are okay, game restarts are not. If you're going to allow restarts because of character deaths, then there's nothing stopping someone from suiciding a character if a chapter didn't go his or her way and trying again. Starting the whole game over, however, is another matter entirely. Upset that you didn't raise X character enough, or missed Y item? Too bad. You can try to master chapters as best you can, but long-term planning oversights are your responsibility to bear. 2) The honor code is not good enough. I understand that this stuff can be a logistical nightmare, but there's an easy way to ensure that people aren't cheating: have everyone keep an ongoing log about the runthrough, and then have everyone take a few screen caps of the turn-count-list during the credit roll. If the numbers in the pictures don't match the reported turn counts in the posts, then something's up. So yeah, count me in for pool #2. Oswin promoted at Lv20, and everyone else who had to promote did so at about Lv18/19. Merlinus didn't promote. The challenge was challenging indeed, particularly since Hector was rubbish. I also found my Canas to be not of much use as I had initially thought he would be. I found myself actually deploying cannonfodder in Ch. 32 to divert some of the enemy units from my main force which I had sent North and around the top of the map. Hector being shit didn't help things either. He did little to nothing (in comparison to the rest of my Drafted units) after his promotion. Rebecca is too underrated. She was a very useful unit to have in the team. Also in the Final Chapter I had to drop a Drafted unit because Lyn, Eliwood and Nils were forced, so I dropped Renaud even though I was considering dropping Priscilla. If I'm to enter a new drafting tourney at any time, I'll hopefully have a better idea on who to leave and pick during the Drafting process.
