Assassin in the Palace

Hate night phases? Well there are none!

In this game, there are only 3 roles, the king, the guards, and the assassin.

The goal of the assassin is to kill the king. He/she has only one shot to do so. Do not think you can shoot after a lynch at any point any number of times as this will result in miserable failure, prompting you to become the laughingstock of children in Africa all over the world. At any point in the game, the assassin may send me a pm with the name of the target they are going to kill, even after the assassin has been lynched, so it's advisable to wait until then to attempt to kill. If the assassin succeeds in killing the king, he/she wins, regardless of if he/she dies or not. If the assassin kills a guard instead, he/she instantly loses.

The king is assassin's target, with pretty much nothing else to distinctify him/her. The king wins when the assassin kills someone not him/herself.

The guards are here to protect the king and lynch the assassin. They are also given the name of the king in their role pm so they know who they're protecting. The guards win when the assassin kills someone not the king.

Role pms are as follows:

Assassin:

Assassin

King:

King

Guard:

Guard

[Name of King]

Every day you may vote to lynch like a regular mafia game; day phases last 48 hours or until a majority has been reached.

Other rules:

1. Don't edit your posts.

2. No PMs.

3. Vote in bold.

There will be 9 players in this game; 1 assassin, 1 king, and 7 guards.

Silent Mercenary

Sign me up, though assassin's at a big disadvantage - might have been better if two worked separate (then they'd cut each other to threads).

Well, the guards won't try lynching the King and this knowledge could help the Assassin in identifying him. In that case, having more guards would make it more difficult to identify the King. However, the more guards there are, the higher the probability of the Assassin surviving.

The reason why I find this game so interesting is that the purpose behind lynching is not to eliminate the Assassin, but to somehow fool the Assassin into thinking that someone else is the King. The Assassin would know that this is their objective and can try to analyze their moves accordingly, making the whole thing a big mindgame. Which is so much better than the "Follow the Leader" Mafia games.

I had an idea it would be something like that, although the assassin's doing most of the mindwork. But I now see how guards can slip in the king's identity and the other guards could try to avoid suspicion to him.

Also: For everyone's minds to be screwed, we need a mostly inactive member to raise suspicion.:awesome:
