IGdood
Now not only can Captian Soren see very far (when needed), he can soon use Forced March, which makes his party move faster because he can. Fire loves to take my property. I'm getting it back. My Water Thief finds the location of the Chaos Capital. She died after a few turns. We will avenge her. So I finally am able to summon Water's "Legendary Creature", which is far from legendary. Its more of an extremely badass support unit, able to fire webs to entangle enemy units so your other, stronger units can kick ass. And they join Captian Soren's retinue. However I think they'd fit in my retinue instead, and switch them with DOOD. I proceed to clear up these huts. A turn before Asparas got killed, she finds the Chaos Great Temple. What the hell is up with all these marauding parties near my capital? And they're getting really big... Rosella the Single Princess and co. come in to clear out the place. I had to put this screenie up due to the sheer hilarity of their taunt. DOOD makes for a very good bodyguard. Meanwhile, Soren has gotten leveled enough that his Righteous Bolt can hit three people at once. And he kills the Death Warrior and an unlucky Goblin Archer with the second spell. After that battle, I zoom out to see exactly where I haven't explored yet. I couldn't see shit. We reach the borders of the Fire nation. I take over one of the villages and construct a watch tower so I can see what's going on in the distance. To be quite honest I couldn't really make up my mind what to do....so I decide to steer for the Chaos capital. If they won't join me, I'll just kill 'em all. The bigger parties get, you can see all the little guys on the map. It's kinda funny to watch them all move together. Inspire....uh...I think that's some sort of buff. Okay that's it, I'm gonna make a second party. It'll get things done quicker. It'll consist of.....Well one portion will be led by Bluewave. As Rosella journeys aimlessly around she encounters a party with a demon, the same demon that had plagued the Temple of Life from earlier before....and a Necromancer. Burning with fury, let's kill them. I demonstrate the usefulness of the spiders. I order one to entangle that bastard. While everyone charges forward to kick some ass. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly what the fuck debuff the Necromancer casted on my entire party but it does not matter. Acacia and Graham work best together. Many seconds later, the Demon breaks free of the web. However, he goes down easily to the Crossbowmen. Funny....why was he so hard early-game? Necromancers die by exploding into a flash. This game is becoming too easy? Hey Furetchen, since you haven't decided on anything I decide to make you a Faerie Thief. You look cute, and need leveling. Check out the crap stats....except ranged attack. I switch out Janaff to escort Furetchen to a new party in the making. Also, Captian Soren gets two new pets: A Will; O Wisp (crap HP, high resistance to damage and bypasses defenses) and a Drake (pretty much a god of war) And this is the new party, led by Integrity and his retinue of creatures and footmen, Bluewave and her units, and Furetchen and his male Pegasus Manservant and lackeys because of his manliness. So, Integrity and company will journey forth to the land of Chaos. Rosella will journey forth to the land of Fire. There we shall conquer, there we shall kill and plunder in the name of Life. I spot the Fire Great temple! Integrity and co. pass by an Earth village. Let's conquer it...but we just ran out of movement points... I can't see Furetchen. I guess he's smothered by his bodyguards. And our enemies are.....well they should be easily defeatable. I stealth Furet because of his weak defenses but somehow he's spotted....probably from all those enemies around. He OHKOs that Orc Warlord because he is manly and his time is better spent doing other things. Yeeeaaaaaah.
eclipse
You are a GRAND common ranger, not a green-eyed prince troll, hence Rosella wouldn't be allowed to marry you. (Do. Not. Ask.)

IGdood
Previously on Lords of Magic, (I hope the game isn't boring you...it just seems as though Empire Total War got a lot more enthusiastic replies and views) Integrity, Bluewave, and Furetchen are on the way to the Chaos lands. In the meantime, they pass by the lands of the Earth nation. Not wanting to waste time, I bid them press on and ignore the Dwarven folk. In the meanwhile, Rosella, Skitarii, and Captian Soren decide to go after the Fire Nation's Great Temple. After all, what better way to piss off someone than to put out their...fire..? Okay that was incredibly lame of me. Funny. It was UNGUARDED. Now you must be wondering what the Temple's supposed security are doing all the way out here. Integrity's party seems to be making fast progress. By the way, check out Integrity's moustache. And as I end the turn the Fire army has decided to go after Rosella. Skirmish time. Isn't that a bit too much cavalry you got there, you flaming fiery followers of a foolishly foolish faith of fire? Our forces may be mostly on foot, but we're elite. The fire cavalry chaaaaaaaaaaaarge me for some reason and ignore Rosella's retinue. The buff fuckers throwing rocks have targeted Soren's manakete Drake instead of going after the old wizard himself. Acacia, Graham, and the 8-leggers move forward to hold back the wildfire. Also notice that Captian Soren, badass as he may be in TftD, is also a badass grandpa here as his Righteous Bolt spell now affects up to FOUR enemies. And the crossbowmen get in a bit of trouble. Cavalry are effective against missile troops....one takes an axe to the jaw. The drake continues to hold off Soren's attackers, while my retinue and I get into quite the clusterfuck. Acacia, relying more on agility than defense, is at a bit of a disadvantage with all these assholes around. Meanwhile, Graham fares very well in this situation. For a cavalry unit he's slow as fuck, like FE 8's great knights. However, he's got quite the armor (and he's not even max level, Knights can hit 6 with a special building). The spiders aren't that great either..... note that Acacia already has one member left. Soren finishes off the rest of the enemy via liberal use of Righteous Bolt. Acacia gets the honor of dealing a death blow to the Fire Giant....who lies dead with his flaming sword. Soren gets a level up....as well as his little....wisp...pet...thing. Soren's got a new spell to use. It's called Justice. 12 mana to affect a cluster of enemies. Sounds like an improved version of Righteous Bolt. HOWEVER, RB only costs 2 mana, Justice costs 12. Awesome but Impractical. Rosella and party retreat back to the Fire Temple, where they can rest. Resting indoors boosts up healing rate. Integrity, because he is so awesome....and Furetchen...because he is manly and lets lackeys do his work, challenge a Chaos army to battle. Uh oh. Bad terrain. Since almost half of this party are Order units, that's gonna be a disadvantage. Order units don't move very well in Rough terrain, which is what those enemies are standing on. So, I'm just gonna stay back and let them come to me. Bluewave, however, has no problem handling the terrain, so I let her group handle these chumps. Except they're not so high on defense.....so I had no choice but to send Integrity in. Integrity, being the Sacred Knight that he is, kills the Chaos Tiger Rider without mercy. Furetchen's group is doing a so-so job. Meanwhile, Furet flies to the rear to shoot arrows. Rear attacks deal more damage. And he spies an unsuspecting shaman. And punches the fucker in the head. Champions that belong to a faith and who are subdued become prisoners. As prisoners they can be tortured, executed, interrogated for info, or sent back to their nation for a relationship boost. I choose to knock her out The party's hurt. We must rest. Rosella believes that the party has rested enough and should move forward, since Soren's here to tend to wounds. Another Fire Army? Integrity conquers. Yeeaaaaah! Next destination: the Fire capital.

IGdood
Woah, that was a close call. Then again, such is the life of us Red Shirts... Well, its just that in that sort of meleefest the Staffmen don't fare very well. However, if it comes to catching missile units then for melee infantry the staffmen are very mobile, and they can intercept. Plus, Flame Raiders (fire cavalry) are like....mounted Berzerkers. Over the top attack, very very low defense. Just like the element they worship, Fire!

IGdood
Apologies for the delay in update. I've been having midterms on Monday, catching-up-on-lecture for Tuesday and Wednesday, a lab report that took me 7 hours to do on Thursday, more homework on Friday, and today is a free day for me. However, I've been having some problems in getting a video update to record correctly....maybe its because LoM is an old game that can only be displayed in 640 x 480, so the video recorder only records the game in a small upper left portion of the video and the rest is black.....I've been asking for help from someone who can record the game into full-screen....he has yet to reply. So you want a picture update or wait for a video?
eclipse
Neither. Get your midterms done well! Once that's out of the way, I won't complain about picture updates!

IGdood
Long time no update. Here we go! Some of you maaaay be disappointed though. That's quite a lot of followers... I task Furetchen with the job of building a suitable training facility for a person named "Rein." But first, he has to get to that village. Some idiots decide to cross the path of Integrity's party. Although, this rough terrain could prove problematic. There is a necromancer in their midst! First casualty: a member of Integrity's retinue dies to 7+ crossbow bolts. The fact thtat the necromancer casted some spell that did some damage to al our units didn't help either. And they're on Rough terrain, which halves their speed. The ensuing melee doesn't look so good, what with all those goblin archers shooting at our slowed units. A fucking rock troll kills poor Integrity's pet White Stag...... Integrity takes revenge by charging whoever's still alive. That's right, GIVE THEM STEEL. It appears that spell is called Visage of Horror. We have won, but not without a cost. To replace casualties, I send a unit of Berzerkers to Integ. Furetchen has arrived and is ready to build. BUILD NOW Looks like a good candidate for Integ's party. I'm not gonna talk about the melee stats....but still, hand axes are cool! try not to die now, Rein. And Rein and his group make their way to the capital city to join up with Integ. Rosella and skitarii, after some debating, have set a new destination. It shall be.....the ruined Knighthood Cathedral. Furetchen also makes his way to rejoin with his comrades. To make way for Rein I detach a unit of footmen from Integ's party. And...Integ and Furet decide to go to.......where? Conquered? Eh I don't care. Possession? Is that like mind control/molecular control from TftD? Score. Captian Soren can now mindfuck his enemies into submission, provided they are 2 levels below him. Rosella and co. hit upon a level 8 tower. They decide to investigate and get their blades bloody. Oh. Fuck. That's a LOT of crossbowmen. AND a fucking wizard. Soren goes for possession of that Elven Warrior. Perhaps he can cause a distraction. Soren casts his spell. A spider entangles someone. Possession successful. Soren then proceeds to one-up that wizard. RIGHTEOUS BOLT The Elven Warrior dies a few seconds later....and what the fuck he's still alive!? Graham and Dood prepare to hold the line. They just keep coming! HOLD THE LINE DAMMIT! Those enemy crossbowmen sure aren't dying fast enough. DOOD bites the bolt and dies in the shootout. And so do the crossbowmen in my retinue. Fuck. Aha! Where'd you come from, you bitch! ? Another costly victory, but that aqua dagger looks pretty nice.
IGdood
Almost there...... Hmm....Rosella could use this. DOOD 2 will join Rosella's party. Hopefully he/it doesn't die so easily again. Another unit of generic crossbowmen will now join up with Rosella. Now that I've rebuilt this Cathedral, Graham can now.....make a vow... What has happened!? Class change from Knights to Holy Knights. Besides getting some stat increases, speed and magical resistance has gone up somewhat. And now we make our way to the lands of Death..... On the way to wherever, Rein shall now get his first taste of combat. Oooh...clustered together. nice. And they're streaming towards us. Easy job. Rein and co. all throw axes at that lizard guy. He loses quite a lot of health quickly. He dies. Then a javelineer takes out one of Rein's squad. I retreat Rein and send everyone else forward. Short work is made of the enemy. Furetchen levels up! Rosella and co. journey across the plains..... A random marauding party decides they can best Integrity. I don't think so. Hey look, a demon! Not so mighty now, are you? Bluewave charges forth to take care of the demon. Meanwhile Rein hurls axes into the fray, heheheh. Do you see those axes? They're fucking huge. Integ charges up with the pegasus to take care of those death javelins. This ends quickly. Mmmm...money. It seems like they're gonna reach an island...? Rosella and party have reached some sort of unknown building. They decide to enter.... Meanwhile Integ and co. seem to be getting nowhere at all! Right, level 9.....someone's going to die right now. Well that looks kinda scary. Fuck. Fuck. FUCK. 5 Shades, a Vampire, and 2 FUCKING Necromancers, and a FUCKING Assassin. And they're high leveled. Almost immediately the necromancers spam that buff/debuff spell that takes off a chunk of health from my men. Meanwhile Soren mindfucks the vampire and hopefully it'll attack the necros. It doesn't seem to work out so well. A quick blast of some spell wipes out Soren's pet Will'OWisp, and Graham suffers heavy damage from a Decay spell, which deals heavy damage over time and causes my headphones to have a slimy, maggot sound. Graham hits 1 HP for both members instantly and I am forced to not use him. I move Acacia up although one of his group is also dead. Fuck. GET THAT FUCKING ASSASSIN Acacia is fucking wiped off the map from Shades throwing dark energy at them. Its up to the drake and the spiders to fix things. DIE. DIE. DIE. The necros have run out of mana by now, and so are easily wiped out. Well....with a few losses I am able to obtain that....thing. This thing will let me "repopulate" dungeons with monsters, and it confers some stat bonuses to the wielder. Awesome. Because Rosella can't wield this item, I get to use it. Heheheh...now I am an awesome unit. Sorry Acacia, looks like your Redshirts have outlived their usefulness.

IGdood
Hello, here's a Sunday update to keep you occupied.... Previously on X-COM, Integrity and Furet have been wandering around. They encounter the coast of some place, and now there isn't much they can do about that. But fear not, I'll have some transports arranged.... In the form of Corsairs, the best ships in the game. Well....Water has the best ships....duh.... I decide to free this prisoner. Prisoners can't board ships anyways. Ships ready....... Unfortunately no more time units movement points left. =( And I summon the Legendary Creature of the Life faith to bolster Rosella's army. At the rate of encounters I'm going to need uber units. I DEEM THEE Ho-Oh. And now she flies across the seas to join up with our Single Princess. The next turn arrives, and Integ and co. sing "I'M ON A BOAT." They land, and prepare to take the Death Great Temple for the lulz. Closing in.... Hmm...Crusade? Let's take a look at what this does. Holy shit. This is like Nini's Grace and Thor's Ire rolled into one spell. Soren you are truly one lethal support unit. Surprisingly, the temple was unguarded and it was taken easily.... An earlier skirmish which I didn't take screenies for put Furet in some danger, but otherwise nothing was wrong. Meanwhile, Ho-Oh has joined up with Rosella and they're ready to move on to the bext building. Perhaps I can reincarnate Acacia here. The ships scout out the Death capital. Surprisingly, I don't see armies wandering around. I only see an Earth small force hanging around. And what the fuck? A marauding party decides to take its chances with Rosella. Fuck off. There's two reasons I hate fighting in the swamplands. 1. Its fugly. 2. There's a particular audio file that loops itself nonstop....its supposed to sound like some creepy wind. Soren puts everyone onto crusade mode, bolstering their stats. My retinue and I move up to be meatshields for Rosella. But after a short pause, "Fuck that", I say. Ho-Oh and the drake move forward to devastate whoever's there, and Graham, Dood 2, and myself charge the demon because we're badass motherfuckers. Rosella and her group of archers and crossbowmen (the game bumped the crossbows to replace Acacia's slot) will shoot whoever's dangerous. It ends up with Rosella and co. shooting the demon to death and stunlocking him so he doesn't get a chance to slice up Graham, who's still weak from the previous battle. HO-OH USES FIIIIIIIIRE. Oh yeah, I'm not sure if you guys read the unit descriptions in my screenshots, but while being an uber unit, the Phoenix has the uncanny skill of RESURRECTING as long as the battle is WON. Which means its an expendable god of death. I take over the village after this battle, and I decide what to build.... I opt for the Death mage tower, but....AWWWWW. It'll take 3 turns for Rosella to reach the death capital... While Integ and co. journey around... He takes the mage tower and the barracks.....which were unguarded. Where the hell are the forces of Death? Did they get worn down fighting a stalemate with the forces of Earth? Closing in....getting our feet muddy and wet from these dark swamps... Almost there.... 3 puny fucks defending the capital city. Really? I'd put you to death for threatening to put me to death. Spiky walls. WE ARE THE JUST ONES. Soren puts us all in Crusade mode. Their melee units go out in a suicidal charge. Soren Righteously Bolts the Necromancer to hell. Nothing much.... man I was expecting some glorious siege. Damn...what a city..... Is that...blood on the left? Connected to a tavern?
eclipse
I guess Death units drink blood instead of ale?
IGdood
I guess Death units drink blood instead of ale? I'll just call it fruit punch from now on. HAHA! Now what do I do? The Death capital is ours. Its time to hunt down their lord....wherever he is. Meanwhile, Integ polices the area to keep the Death forces out of the way. Blah blah blah. For some reason seeing the short dwarves around Integrity makes me laugh. Its like they're his mini-bodyguards.... The javelineers all aim for that one poor cavalryman. He dies, but their fate is sealed. Chop chop chop. Hey Necromancer MEET MY BIG FUCKING SWORD Of course, we win. Now I believe I know what I should make Acacia. Skeletons? It'd make the most sense......sorta. Their defense may be a bit shabby, but the stats you see are only their level 2 stats. I'm sure they have some potential. What I really like about them is that they've got a pretty good missile resistance... 67%? That means they only take 33% of missile damage.....or was it 67? I forgot, but whatever, I'm sold. They also have a pretty decent hit recovery, which means they don't take a long time flinching..... Or a Death Shade? While coming as a single unit, the stats are so-so. Yeah, he's got a mediocre ranged attack (okay, maybe I'm underestimating it) with the chance to poison targets. His defense is pretty high, along with a 50% missile resistance. What pretty sucks is that he's got a -25% melee resistance, which means he's fucked if anyone gets close to him. I think the skeletons are more reliable. I have Integrity capture the surrounding crystal mines. Its not like I need more resources, but whatever. After looking around a bit i notice that the nation of Earth is in ruins. Death has their capital. i think it's time to launch Operation "LIFE, FUCK YEAH! COMING AGAIN TO SAVE THE MOTHERFUCKING DAY YEAAAH I raise those two death units anyways. However, I name the skeletons Acacia. And I place the skeletons in Rosella's retinue. I mean...they are....Acacia's remains...yes? no? It's time to move out. Integrity will retake the Earth capital. Rosella will hunt down the Death Lord...somehow. And I spot the fucker. Integrity's party seems to be able to travel pretty damn far. Is it because Soren's slowing my party down? Mages usually have very low movement. Meanwhile, I lose control of my Fire capital because of neglect. Whatever. I don't care. I've alost lost control of my Chaos capital....to the forces of Chaos. The turns pass by, and Integrity is closing in. Rosella ignores the single death units around her and continues to press forward. Once out of the swamps and mountains, Rosella's party suddenly becomes quite....mobile. It must be the terrain penalties. Integrity could give less of a shit about the Death lord right next to him. YOU CANNOT RUN AWAY FROM ME! Tick...tock... And tailing way behind is an Earth force. Are they figuring out that we'd blow Death away? Ha! Traitors of the Earth nation. I'd gladly give you cold steel, fuckers. That's quite a lot of axe throwers. They are no match for us, says Integrity. THOSE HAND AXES ARE FLYING. And Integ levels up. Look at those godly stats. And now we shall take this Earth capital city. A small force. I'll just pelt them to death with Furetchen's bow, Rein's axes, and.....those lizard slingers. Actually I just ordered a full on charge. CHAAAARGE. FOR GREAT JUSTICE. It's a clusterfuck at the gates! And they just keep dying. Suddenly Furetchen drops dead. My jaw dropped also. After a second of silence I went FFFFFFUUUUUUU WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED/ WHAT TRAVESTY IS THIS? FUCK FUCK FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOO And that NECROMANCER FLED. ALL OF YOU COULDN'T CATCH HIM. WHAT IS THIS? 3-13 NECROMANCER? FUCK YOU. AAAAAARRRGGGGGHHHH Now what shall I reincarnate Furetchen as?
