Fenrir
I'd say Sothe > Ike is very arguable in Normal mode. It's the difference of a stream to the pacific ocean. Especially in a draft. to me they have a similar impact, the only leverage sothe has is that DB is a smaller team, so you could say on a smaller team he contributes more. P4 is the dealbreaker to me though.
Yuglyoshi
Smaller team is a huge deal in drafts, though. DB people are more sparse and there's less good units on that team. Take this draft, for example. Your main DB combatants include Volug and Sothe. Without Sothe, you'd have to rely on a ton of penalties to get you through the first 5 chapters, and then Volug would have to do the rest by himself. 1-6-1, 1-8, 1-E, etc. would be absolutely painful. Meanwhile, for the GM part of the game, without Ike you'd really only need penalties for 3-1, and I think everyone takes penalties for that chapter. Gatrie and Neph can carry you through all of part 3, and Ranulf comes to help out too.
RNG Princess
Ike is helpful but my team can survive without his presence, but Sothe's absence would really affect everything..Micaiah wouldn't even be useful anymore.

Yuglyoshi
this draft left me wanting for more Yuggly beat me Only by a few turns ^_^ Part 4 Endgame V Nolan, Mia, Janaff, Reyson, Mordecai, Kieran, Rolf, Leonardo, Bastian, Kurthnaga MVP: I'd say Janaff. Janaff (strongest unit who can double auroras), Mordecai (66 atk olol), Leonardo (3-range and fast enough to double auroras with his bow) and Kieran (can re-move) got Nihil. All laguz used gems and all melee units killed 2 auroras on turn 1. Took out two more on turn 2, 3 on turn 3, and one plus Ashera on turn 4. Sothe and Nolan were on Spirit-killing duty. Oh, and for those who were paying attention, I raised Kurthnaga using Paragon and a ton of bexp. It was hardly worth the effort, it's such a shame he comes so late. Didn't even get halfway to S-strike despite having Provoke every chapter. Hit 58 attack would have been more helpful in the final battle if his accuracy wasn't so shit. Total Turns: 4 FINAL STATS: Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Ike 20.00 65 37 08 40 37 24 32 20 Micaiah 04.66 33 10 22 20 14 21 13 22 Sothe 15.07 50 28 14 38 40 35 24 25 Mordecai 40.00 75 46 10 36 30 30 44 20 Rolf 18.78 60 36 13 40 34 30 26 23 Mia 20.00 50 31 19 40 40 35 25 24 Janaff 40.00 65 38 10 46 42 35 32 18 Kieran 20.00 60 36 12 35 31 29 30 21 Nolan 20.00 66 40 10 36 35 30 28 20 Leonardo 19.08 60 36 15 40 34 30 28 25 Bastian 20.00 47 23 37 34 29 27 23 36 Reyson 20.00 45 8 10 10 26 34 12 36 Kurthnaga 36.24 71 46 18 26 32 30 40 38 Final Turn Count (penalties included) : 287 The game said I took 262 turns, which would mean 25 turns of penalties. Looking over my posts, it appears that I actually took 28 turns of penalties. Dunno where those 4 missing turn got lost at... Top 5: 1: Nolan - Expected this, since he pretty much soloed 3-12, 3-13, and 4-P. Earlygame was a bit tough for him since I was also using Leonardo, but it worked out in the end. If I were to put my two cents in on the Edward vs. Nolan debacle, I'd definitly say Nolan has the upper hand. Even if Edward saves more turns early on, I can't see smashing him through everyone in 3-12 or 4-P like Nolan did, due to lowr durability and no Hand Axes / forges. Nolan was definitly a worthy first pick. 2: Mia - What's there to say? Lack of durability and power early on was a bit frustrating especially in 3-3, but overall she was a very solid unit who could reliably wipe out anywhere I sent her to. 3: Ike - The best Ike I've ever had. I think the 28 Speed at 20/20 was the reason, but it could also be the fact that he gained like, a dozen levels in 4-1 as well. 4: Sothe - Not as useful as usual since I had Leonardo and Nolan helping out, but he was still super helpful early on as usual. Giving him bexp and making sure he didn't suck lategame also heped me out quite a bit in 4-P, 4-3 and 4-E-I 5: Mordecai - This guy is probably one of the most fun units to use in this game. Give him Resolve, get him down to half health, and let him clear the whole map out. His usefulness trailed off in Part 4, but he still deserves spot #5 I think. The Rest 6: Rolf - Rolf. Well, he saved me turn in 3-3, 3-4, 3-8, 3-10?, 3-E, and Part 4. But I'm not sure if he was really all that good, especially since he had to share the Aqquar with Leonardo. 7: Kieran - A worth pick, saved me turns in every chapter he was in. Really awful 4-E though, he barely did anything past the first stage. 8: Janaff - I thought he'd be higher, but maybe I was more worried about getting Mordecai's strike up instead of Janaff's. For future reference, Mordecai doesn't need Strike wexp that fast. Janaff only got SS in 4-E-3, and I wish hat had been a bit sooner. Oh well. Janaff was still really good in every chapter, and vital in 3-11. 9: Leonardo - Alright, training him was a mistake. Focusing on Nolan and Micaiah and not blowing 21 levels of BEXP is better than drafting Leonardo. He was really helpful with the Lughnasadh in 4-E, but I don't think it was really worth it. 10: Micaiah - She got shafted in favour of training Leonardo. Won't make that mistake again. 11: Bastian - His staves were the most helpful, although he privded some decen offense as well. Worthy 2nd-last pick. 12: Kurthnaga - Well...when I gave him a ton of bexp, he turned out decent, but he just doesn't have enough time to make an impact on anything. MAYBE he saved me one turn on 4-E-V? 13: Reyson - His placement at the bottom of the list is pretty unfair, but what can ya do. I'd probably place his usefulness in between Janaff and Leonardo. He saved me turns in basically every chapter due to the size of my GM team. Would draft again. That was my first draft, and a really enjoyable one overall. Only 'bad' chapters were 1-E, 3-3, 3-11 and 4-3. I really liked my team but am looking forward to seeing who I can scrape together next time. Like Elincia, I'm already craving another playthrough :/ Edited April 22, 2011 by Yuglyoshi

Junkhead
Soul never backs away from a draft. 1-P Edward fed some kills to Micaiah while plowing through the enemies. Micaiah got the boss kill. Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Micaiah 2.63 16 2 8 8 8 10 2 5 A Sothe 5 (+3) turns. 1-1 Took the Edward penalty again and had him do the exact same thing. Edward got the boss kill, iirc. Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Micaiah 4.24 16 3 10 9 8 12 3 7 A Sothe 7 (+3) turns. 1-2 Edward helped Micaiah through the Right side while Laura and Nolan blocked the edges. Sothe appeared, cleared the North side and took the Energy Drop. Edward and Micaiah got Thani. Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Micaiah 5.21 17 4 11 10 9 13 3 8 A Sothe Sothe 1.22 35 18 4 20 20 15 14 9 A Micaiah 7 turns. 1-3 Took the RHS as usual, despite the lack of CEXP. Anyway, I had Sothe clear most of that side for the girls. Ilyana helped with one or two kills. Sothe killed the Archer, Ilyana shoved Micaiah and Micaiah escaped. Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Micaiah 5.81 17 4 11 10 9 13 3 8 A Sothe Sothe 1.58 35 18 4 20 20 15 14 9 A Micaiah Ilyana 12.35 22 6 12 12 13 6 3 9 6 turns. 1-4 Battle preparation [insert redundant action of selling here] Bought a Beastkiller for Sothe, and two Max Mt tomes for the girls. (Ilyana's had Max Crit. at that) Skills: Micaiah - Wrath BEXP: Ilyana - 99 Exp ----- Sothe went with Micaiah to the LHS and went counter-clockwise. Ilyana stayed at the center of the map and sniped a few Tigers. Notes: I got the Angelic Robe and a Master Seal. Skills: Micaiah - Resolve Sothe - Adept ----- Sothe went to clear most of the West side. Jill killed some Peggies. Micaiah proc'd Resolve and killed everything to the East. Ilyana killed the Peggie reinforcements. Ciarre
3-7 12 turns Ike used spectre card and other people killed. Mist stole a few kills and leveled twice I think and Haar recruited Jill because he ran out of things to do in the corner. Well actually, he talked to her and then hand axed someone and then canto'd away. 3-8 6 turns BEXP'd Mist a level. Haar is great here, he went down the left and pretty much got tinked by everything except mages and ORKO's a lot of enemies with just a hand axe, but Mist has a physic staff on hand for him. Ike, Shinon and Mist went down the right and I had provoke on Ike and had him trade Shinon when he was standing next to him so he'd equip a crossbow so he wouldn't get attacked as much. 3-9 8+3 turns Raeg at allies. Raeg so hard you stupid fucking bishop. Geoffrey kept getting swarmed and bishop completely failed at life. Why did you climp up that goddamn gap? 3-10 7 turns 6 turns actually Raeg at Elincia. BEXP'd Mist to 99, she got a decent level up. Haar took the top by himself and attempted to get Elincia to go the other direction while Ike soloed the bottom since Shinon would be screwed. Shinon and Mist went up top to clean up leftovers and Mist finished off a swordsmaster and that ended the chapter. 3-11 5 turns Mist gets BEXP'd, Haar gets savior and rescues Ike and proceeds to beast through the entire chapter. Shinon and Mist stay back to get experience. Ike equips an iron sword because I don't think bronze or iron really matters. 3-12 4 turns Aran was pretty damn awesome this chapter. He actually had enough speed to double most of the enemies on the map and was pretty close to promotion after this. Whatever got by Aran on the slope, Tauro killed. Sothe and Micaiah blocked the ledges and got a few kills. 3-13 5 turns BEXP'd Aran up to promotion. From 26 AS to 28 AS + speedwing from 1-E, he can now double Ike. Forged another lance plus a +1 mt card. Tauro served as the ledge blocker and Micaiah physic'd him every turn. Sothe and Aran turtled their way down to Ike (and he was at 26 AS). Sothe crit Soren first and then Aran attacked Ike. Ike went down eventually. 3-E 5 turns BEXP'd Mist again and she picked up rescue. Everyone went up and Shinon and Mist took out the mages in the corner while Ike and Haar killed things but the former almost got killed by Aran, so Mist physic'd him and then Shinon adept critted him. Part 3 turns: 101 100 (If I counted correctly) Team distribution: Silver: Micaiah, Sothe, Haar (oh god I'm fucked) Greil: Ike, Shinon, Mist, Rafiel and then Vika later Hawk: Tauro, Lucia, Aran Edit: Okay, I finished this file (not my actual run though) so I could make some strategies that will probably fail (my turncount for 4-3 and 4-4 were horrid) and check my turns for a few chapters. 4-P 4 turns Haar takes on the middle and upper parts by himself while Micaiah takes Skrimir's Resolve and Thanibombs the pallies down low and sort of through the water with Sothe as support. 4-1 7 turns Oh good lord, I don't have much options here. Only Ike and Shinon can actually take more than a few hits and not die. So uh, this took a bit of resetting since I tended to put Rafiel in tight positions. Good thing Mist has canto though (and crit a few times w/ florete). >___> 4-2 9 turns Lucia (crown) and Tauro (crown) gets BEXP and take the top, Aran takes the bottom and impales everything with his super high skill. Reinforcements suck. 4-3 12 turns THANK GOD FOR HAAR; he's just blazing through everything with celerity and everything suicides into his hand axed glory. The only thing I found was the white gem, but that's okay since IDC about the laguz gem or dragon foe. Micaiah got Stefan and got some lucky dodges and kills with resolve. The staffers don't even go for Haar? They actually went for Micaiah and she had restore equiped. 4-4 Shit (11) BEXP'd Vika and stuffed her with stones and grass, Mist baited the sleep staffer and almost died, then Ike charged up and killed things. The only chest I bothered with was fortify, which Mist got with the unlock staff. Shinon just did stuff. Vika dealt with the reinforcements on the bottom, killing the archers first and Shinon shot them from the ledge. Rafiel helped sort of. 4-5 4 turns BEXP'd Lucia and gave her boots and made sure she could ORKO Izuka with a tempest blade (either w/ crit or adept). Aran & Tauro made sure things weren't in her way and shoved her into the swamp. Had to get my positioning right so Izuka doesn't warp away >_____> Brought Stefan here just so he could bless a wyrmslayer; he won't be deployed of course. 4-E-1 4 turns 4-E-2 1 turn Micaiah purged, Rafiel vigors, Lucia, Aran and Shinon clear the way for Caineghis who wtfpwns Levail. 4-E-3 2 turns Lucia blesses vague katti, Mist blesses wyrmslayer for Ike, Stefan blesses one for Lucia, Shinon safely hits Dheg from 3 range, Aran has his shiny new wish blade ready, Mist rescues, Rafiel vigors them and stuff. Lucia had to get the final hit though because she couldn't survive a hit from Dheg. 4-E-4 2 turns Iunno. I just did stuff I guess? 4-E-5 4 turns Cain, Ike and Aran got Nihil. Shinon gets Parity, Lucia still has her personal parity, Tauro kills spirits and dies, oops. Lehran, Micaiah heals, Mist uses Rescue to move people around, Sothe dies after killing spirits. Whoops. Vika's S strike sucks, but it still contributed a little bit. Part 4 total: 59 76+38+100+59=273 turns Oh my gawd. ;_; Edited September 4, 2011 by CR-S01
Junkhead
...Doesn't...! 2-P Nealuchi is my free unit. I struggled big time keeping him alive WHILE carrying Leanne untransformed, for most of the chapter. I managed to avoid all penalties. 8 turns. 2-1 Brom got the Steel axe and went with the flow, making his way up to the boss. Nephenee went through the other way so she can recruit Heather. Brom 4HKO'd the boss and ended it on Enemy Phase. Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Heather 7.07 32 15 9 21 25 16 10 14 6 (+6) turns. 2-2 I took a penalty for Lucia and Nealuchi here. Lucia and Heather walked through the narrow path up to the boss. Nealuchi jumped into a horde of enemies untransformed, filled his gauge, and then blocked one of the openings, as so they don't attack my other characters. He also contributed on killing a Soldier so Lucia could go through. Lucia weakened the boss with the Wind Edge. Heather stole the Secret Book and killed him. Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Heather 9.12 33 16 9 23 27 16 12 15 6 (+8) turns. 2-3 Battle preparations BEXP: Geoffrey - Lvl 17 ----- I go with my usual pacifist strategy, this time taking a turn less on the Geoffrey solo due to Geoffrey proc'cing 1 point of Str so he could 1RKO the boss with the Brave lance. 5 turns. 2-E Battle preparations I pack a few things in Heather's inventory and the left-overs in Nephenee and Brom's. I buy a Stee dagger for Heather, despite not having enough rank to use it yet. BEXP: Callil - Lvl 16 ----- Elincia and Heather went down that mosh pit where all the Generals start arriving. Callil stayed at the ledges and killed what she could, just for the sake of gathering CEXP. Heather got me an Energy Drop, and since her inventory was full, I sent Meteor since it will be most useful with Callil later on. Elincia killed Ludveck on Turn 4 by procc'ing Stun on her last hit. It even took me one try to pull that off. :D Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Heather 9.66 32 16 9 23 27 16 12 15 Callil 16.05 34 13 25 23 23 17 13 22 4 (+5) turns. Part 2 turncount: 48 turns. Total: 115 turns.
