Chapter 5 - 4/29

Recruited Wendell for Barrier, and managed to kill off Matthis. I need three more dead units for the gaiden.

Oh, and Jagen apologized by critblicking the boss.

Once again, extra turn to kill someone, so I can go to 6x. Draug and Darros are made of paper. Ogma is not, and was able to use an armored unit as a meatshield while he poked at the two northern horses with his Javelin. Jagen proved his worth by eliminating random things, and Merric protested his new class.

2. Jagen misses a 95% on the boss.

It didn't matter that I pissed off the entire north side. Jagen couldn't double with the Armorslayer, and Marth did squat for damage. Luckily, the latter went into blick mode, so things went more smoothly. Lost Caeda and a lot of money, got Roger and Ogma to get epic levels.

Chapter 11 - 10/80

I know I'm a turn over, but everyone survived, and that's what counts. Ogma, Jeorge, Julian, and Darros went to Knorda, while everyone else went to bug the main guys. Extra turn was to save one of my units from the Sniper (Marth was the only one who could kick the Sniper and Khozen out without taking too much damage in return).

Merric hit C staves. Time to see how much longer I can stomach the Curate growths before turning him into a Bishop.

Chapter 13 - 4/93

Levin Swords are awesome on this map. A generic sponge brought forth the northern Arrowspate, which was quickly dispatched by Roger and Julian. A wounded Astram made excellent Grigas target practice, while the rest of my troops went nuts on various things. Extra turn because Jagen didn't have the juice necessary to ORKO Grigas (so Marth had to finish). Dolph did the unthinkable and gained a level.

The extra turn for Catria also yielded other goodies, like the Bullion, Silver Card, and a minor heart attack when I realized I left Darros in range of the Sniper. Horace and Midia did a superb job protecting Marth by blocking a generic Knight.

No one had enough punch to take out the Silver Sword Hero on my turn, so I had Jagen counter with the Killer Lance and finish with the Silver Lance. Somehow, it worked out. This cost me a turn, but I got Xane, so yay. Draug was the MVP of this map, for murdering the entire center island.

Okay! All caught up now, with a side effect of a better turn run than last time. Same basic strategy, except Marth was able to double from Chapter 1 onwards and I had Julian and Castor take on the east guys in Chapter 3.

This chapter is SO boring. No stats, because not much of note happened.

With some careful sniping, got Darros to level 20. Boss went down to Darros, too. Ogma played blockade, and got quite a few levels. My poor, poor mages!

Est, why do you suck so much? This gave everyone else time to do things, like hit the arena. No stats, because I didn't record them.

Chapter 19 - 5/130

Gave Jagen a Speedwings so the Heroes wouldn't double him.

Jagen snagged the Lightsphere, then did Tiki in. Marth ran as fast as he could. Got the Starsphere, and all the treasure except for the stuff in the room closest to my units. Go Xane!

Speaking of, I'm using Xane, but I don't see the point in mentioning his stats, because he's almost always someone else.

I used Wendell to bait Camus, so Draug and Jagen could kill him for good. Recruited Lorenz, because I'm running short on Silver Lances. Promoted Ogma and Merric.

Est has been recruited, but I will never, ever use her, so I'll omit her stats.

I tried to level my mages. Instead, the other members of my team went critical-happy and Roger missed two 95% shots. The RNG hates me. I will promote Roger for Chapter 21, because I can't see him getting any better. I think I can wait a couple more levels for Catria.

Alright, questions time~!

Is Xane only allowed to mimic units that are drafted? I'll go under the assumption that he is, but. . .

Chapter 21 - 4/140

This took an extra turn because Jagen and Jeorge are made of paper. Xane mimicked Ogma, and had fun not taking damage. In exchange for the extra turn, I killed every single enemy unit on the map. Whee.

Chapter 22 - 8/148

This map is painful to play on if all you've got are two mounted units, and neither is particularly durable. It was so bad that Marth had to rush in to save Jagen, which cost me a turn. It also meant that Michalis died to a Silver Bow and Xane on Gradivus. I might be able to squeeze one more level out of Catria, but I don't think it'll be worth it.

Chapter 23 - 7/155

Having two Merrics around was quite helpful, as I was able to do things like keep everyone alive. Marth ran around the map with a gigantic target on his back, and my two Paladins had their hands full plowing a path towards the throne. I got the second Fortify and a Master Seal, but missed the other Master Seal. Julian ran around killing stuff, and Ogma really hates Gharnef clones.

Speaking of, I wouldn't have been able to finish the map if the real Gharnef was in my way.

Chapter 24 - 4/159

This chapter is brought to you by: Absolute RNG insanity.

Draug went nuts with his critical rate, taking out quite a few things with Light/Star Silver Axe and Hand Axe. He walked up to the boss on turn 4, and critblicked him into oblivion. Marth and Darros kinda followed and cleaned up, while Merric and Fake!Merric kept people alive with Fortify. The rest of my army picked a fight with the eastern troops.

This took several resets, because Draug had to dodge two out of four ~50% attacks. . .and he kept getting hit by all of them.

Catria promoted at level 19, because I ran out of things to kill. My goal was to level Darros as much as possible. He's almost capped Strength!

Endgame - 4/163

The only pertinent information is below:

1. I maxed out Darros' Strength via Energy Drop, and fed him Speedwings until he had 26 Speed.

2. I used the Geosphere twice on turn 1 and once on turn 2. The only thing that survived were the Generals and Medeus.

3. Darros decided to crit-blick Medeus twice on my phase to end the game.

Notes and whatnot

Marth - Amazing as usual. Did a pretty good job keeping himself alive.

Jagen - Not that great, level-wise, but was sufficient. Silver Lance in the beginning was a godsend.

Draug - Scary-fast as a 'zerker, made Chapter 16 much easier, but didn't hit hard enough during Chapter 24, so I had to rely on luck. Co-MVP, regardless.

Ogma - Nice stats, but Knights are so useless towards the end!

Darros - Gained a lot of Speed early, so he could hit hard, and occasionally double. I was counting on him to be my Medeus-killer, and he gained just enough Speed to do it. Co-MVP, for doing a hell of a lot better than expected!

Julian - Decided to completely and utterly outdo Marth, and was crucial to killing stuff. Co-MVP for being outstanding.

Merric - Staffbot is such a waste of his growths. I'm glad he gained some Magic, so I could make effective use of Fortify.

Roger - Not bad. . .but mages suck in this run.

Jeorge - I'd say he was far more worth the extra turns than Est! He did fairly well as a Paladin, but I kinda wish he wasn't made of paper.

Dolph - Would've been so much better if he'd been something other than a Knight or Dark Mage.

Catria - I wish she'd gain that kind of Strength in a physical class.

Xane - Co-MVP for being Merric the Second, which made my team more-or-less immortal.

Est - Waste of time.

Overall: Subtract 8 turns from that run, and I did about the same as last time. Lack of fliers didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. I think I'd need someone sturdier on a horse in order to pull better turn counts.

Chapter 6 - 12/46 Turns

Well, this wasn't the best as far as turns go, but Castor couldn't double, and with only Marth able to effectively damage the knights and survive the boss, I just figured I'd recoup the turns elsewhere. Plus, endlessly resetting for the exact best turn count is less fun.

On the bright side, I got all the thieves and gained Rickard, and can head to 6x for training.

I've got to find a better way to hurt enemy generals... Marth's rapier broke before I could reach the boss, so I had to use silver sword, Castor fire, and Frey bow (1 damage!) to even touch this guy. Meatshields continue to serve their purpose, especially apparent with the enemy reinforcements. Meanwhile, Rickard continues to amaze me.

Yep, I can definitely see why no one likes drafting Maria or Minerva in these draft tourneys. My generic/Draug/Roger barrier occupied reinforcements for a time, but died just as Marth was leaving the castle, so I had to rush things to get in before the tidal wave hit.

Got stuck in the treasure room for a bit thanks to the sniper. Ended up having to wait until Heimler's squad impaled themselves on Gordin's Ridersbane to get it to work. Boss went down easily and took another 2 turns for the Boots. To the Gaiden!

Chapter 6 - 6/37 Turns

Wendall is broken. I missed almost all the chests, but I don't really care. I sacrificed most of my dudes, so it worked out in the end.

Sedgar went to immediately kill the archer and mage in the throne room (there's a square that you can lure them to by the armoury) while being healed by Roshea. Julian killed Rickard, then got the buillon. Various units were sacrificed to ensure Wendall's safety as he and Marth ran to the boss. Barst got surrounded by about 8 enemies and they all tinked except the silver lance dude. Wendall ORKO'd the boss with Excalibur on turn 6.

I'm not gonna lie, Wendall is the most reliable bosskiller along this stretch. He and Marth ran towards the boss, I accidently triggered the reinforcements, so I sent a hoard of undraftees to die to save Bord and Julian. Then Barst plugged things up.

For once, I'm glad Marth is one square short of seizing, so he can kill the boss, so Wendall can go help Sedgar kill the hero.

Barst lets some generics die to Minerva, then plowed north to kill the hoards of reinforcements. He got a perfect level up, I was astonished.

Sedgar can finally use Steel Swords! And he's close to killer bows too.

Now I have to recruit Linde :facepalm:

I don't think forging is a go, I haven't done it yet. Lemme check the rules...

I don't see it anywhere, so I don't think its allowed.

Chapter 11 - 13 :facepalm:/73 Turns

Oh god I'm gonna totally use Linde seriously.

She actually got a good level up in the arena, Roshea went down to heal her, and got a level up that included strength :facepalm: I could afford to take this slowly, so useless units like Barst had time to arrive and help out.

Sedgar got a terrible level :(:
