Rewjeo
Wouldn't Micaiah and Mikaya be pronounced identically by 99% of the players?
VincentASM
Yeah, but the look of the name also counts. Otherwise we wouldn't have people debating about stuff like Kleine vs Claine or Malicia vs Malliesia in the FE12 board.
Celice
Wouldn't Micaiah and Mikaya be pronounced identically by 99% of the players? Some of the spellings suggested for names have caused international players to pronounce the name differently than it was originally pronounced--altering what the name was, in the process. deuxhero
Except it doesn't. Inherited linguistics are the deciding factor in what a person recognizes as "normal" spelling and "uncanny." Mikaya sounds more like a name to me than Micaiah simply because my exposure to certain language over others. It looks like a Micheal derivative/entomology sharer (which it is). Mikaya? Nah. CrashGordon94
Also, "Micaiah" is apparently a male name.
dondon151
クãƒãƒ is pronounced like chrome, but the thing is that there's no katakana that will sound exactly like "Krom," so it can really go either way.
Rewjeo
Well, Kuramu. But then you have cases like Robert where and English "ah" sound is represented with an "o" in Japanese.
Thief
Is the "ro" in Spanish Roberto pronounced the Japanese or English way then?
mai
Is the "ro" in Spanish Roberto pronounced the Japanese or English way then? Japanese. Japanese and Spanish phonetics are pretty similar. EDIT: Well, the 'r' is different, but the 'o' sounds the same. dondon151
Well, Kuramu. But then you have cases like Robert where and English "ah" sound is represented with an "o" in Japanese. Exactly, you'd get alternate readings like "Kram," "Krahm," "Clam," etc.
Nightmare
Krom! I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that today, two stood against many. That's what's important! Valour pleases you, Krom; so grant me this one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to hell with you! No, seriously. I hope that makes it into this game somehow, and I really, really hope it stays as Krom. Or better yet, Crom. CrashGordon94
Exactly, you'd get alternate readings like "Kram," "Krahm," "Clam," etc. @Bolded: That's even funnier! And Nightmare, you deserve a cookie!
