Sir Ilpalazzo
I can't see the three horseback units that come with Selphina surviving the dragon rider attacks. Is it okay to just let them escape ASAP and have Karin get a scroll to Selphina so she can turtle up on the mansion?
dondon151
If you have someone moving through the mountain area, the dragon knights will probably engage him instead. Asvel does a number on them.
Sir Ilpalazzo
I have been doing that, but I can only get Asvel to kill one enemy and the boss (and Grafcalibur broke anyway, I'm conserving the repair staff for now because I think I'll need it for staves later on). It's not that Asvel has problems killing them and surviving, but that he can't move far enough to get all of them to attack him. Three of them end up veering off to the left and then I can't distract them from reaching the characters at the mansion.
Othin
Later on, you'll have plenty more staffs, especially if you get the two Warp staffs in 17A. You won't have plenty more Grafcaliburs. Repairing Warp is only necessary if you want to warpskip a bunch of early chapters; if not, you'll be fine without it. And you'll almost certainly be able to get more than you'll need of staffs other than Warp. Have you promoted Asvel yet? If not, the extra Move might make the difference. Sir Ilpalazzo
I'll probably use it on him later then (but maybe not in this chapter). I did promote Asvel last chapter.
Othin
Maybe a faster-moving character might get their attention soon enough? Karin could probably fly up to the edge of their range and then get out of the way.
The_Purple_Knight
I usually just use one of the axe en usually haven to quickly kill the Dracoknights while everyone else books across the moutains and Karin goes to help the defense of the castle . I don't thnk that strategy would work for everyone really depends how good your axe men are .
Sir Ilpalazzo
Is there any practical way to capture the fire sword-wield armor and boss in chapter 10? Dagda takes forever to capture the armor because his accuracy is so bad, so I end up losing the upper house, and I doubt he can capture the boss at all. I don't think any mounted unit even has enough strength to capture the boss.

Never tried for the boss. Edited February 19, 2012 by Othin

Mekkah
Just RNG abuse if you want that sword. Or if your Lifis has gained a couple of Bld points he can steal it. Try to weaken him with your old Fire Sword or the Light Sword or something so that Dagda only needs one hit.
Dr. Tarrasque
There's also Felgus with an Armor Slayer and Fin's Brave Lance which will probably require a crit. They won't OHKO but if you've weakened that armor enough you can at least have more shots at capturing it. Othin
I usually had Nanna and Asvel use magic to weaken him, then had Fin capture.
dondon151
In my SSS run, I captured him after weakening with 2 hits from Felgus and Fire Sword, then fishing for a crit on promoted Fin's 4x Brave Lance attack.
MacLovin
Question. I've promoted Asvel at 11/1 in the chapter where Fin @ Safy rejoin. I'm in one on where Dagda rejoins. I left him with a bunch of hand axes and iron axes and a bow, I think. Now, Fergus has capped lvl, and Brighton has almost. But, Marty/Othin/Halvan help alot indoors. Should I Promote one of the axe guys early, or just promote one of the manster Mounted? I'm thinking Promoting Marty, so He can be useful in combat as well as capturing. Dr. Tarrasque
Probably go for the capped one unless you have plans for using quite an assload of characters that will force some to go without a promotion in which case Fergus could stand to remain as is. Also, I'm on 8x, and Safys lvl 6. Promote her ASAP? She has B staves btw.

Just spam higher rank staves/Hammerne a bit to get it to A, preferably by chapter 12.
Sir Ilpalazzo
I tried for a while, but I couldn't capture the thieves in chapter 10 to get their S Drinks. This isn't really going to be a problem, is it? I did get everything else in the chapter (the fire sword, bridge key, and both staves), and I still have the S Drink from chapter 9.
Icon of Sin
S Drinks aren't mandatory, but they're handy to have when you want to use someone fatigued one more chapter, usually Clerics or Sisters.
Sir Ilpalazzo
There is no way to reliably save Olwen in 11x (or the kids from Oltof) outside of wasting a warp staff, right?
Icon of Sin
Warp isn't needed. Just have Fred get to Olwen as fast as possible. The kids aren't mandatory, but if you want to have some items in the next chapter, I'd suggest making rescue chains at first, then escorting them to the exit. A few groups of Soldiers will spawn as reinforcements. Six will spawn next to the cell on turn 8, while six more will block the exit on turns 10 and 15. Jave
I've never used Warp in 11x. Just get Fred there and hope Olwen doesn't die with the first two Javelin tosses.
