Samias
The Perfect Guide was more readily available and was the only one at Yodobashi Camera. I picked up the Official Guide in Den Den Town at one of the many specialist stores in the area, but I sadly was not able to buy the Perfect Guide to cross reference due to some very tight pursestrings. The official guide does not include any DLC characters other than Marth, nor does it include the Demon Fighter, so I guess those will remain a mystery just like the mysterious Paris. arvilino
I'm not able to compare both guidebooks in detail, but looking at Liz from both guidebooks, the official guidebook seems to have a slightly simplified version of the growth charts, eg. a 35% growth might be rounded to 40%. Actually, I compared the charts in detail and it seems the official guidebook uses 15% increments, versus the perfect guidebook's 5%. This is assuming the growths at ChinaFE are correct. Official MHP ++ 30% STR + 15% MAG ++ 30% SKL ++ 30% SPD ++ 30% LCK ++++ 60% DEF + 15% RES ++ 30% + = 15% Perfect MHP ------- 35% STR ----- 25% MAG ------- 35% SKL ------ 30% SPD ------- 35% LCK ------------- 65% DEF --- 15% RES ------- 35% - = 5% Hmm, I was kind of looking forward to getting the official guidebook as well. That's a really weird way of doing it(the official guidebooks method) because it appears to round down to the nearest 15% as well. Like Liz's strength growth is underpredicted by 10% because of it. Remnant Sage
... Why does this feel like a repeat of what I encountered with the Last Remnant guides. The official guide, while more in-depth with mechanics, was lacking in DLC-related items and a bit of unit data (it was better organized though, by categories instead of by the 50 sounds). The Perfect Bible generally had better data (hidden levels, starting arts and equips), and surprisingly, a few things on unused equips. Both didn't have anything on the DLC dungeon or fights... which I think lead to a little raging because of a tiny difference in drop tables (100% on the PC, 0% on the X360). Cross-referencing 2 ~1000 page books to get the whole picture gets annoying after a while. I think a little more data will be needed. Or at least a few more comparisons between different units. Looks accurate enough for now so I think I'll run a check against what I've done with my units and see what happens. Yay, numbers!
Samias
Hm. I just realized Mark is using the same body as loli/shota MU, just with their own hairstyle! That must be a little freaky for the parent whose body looks exactly the same as their child...
