The Awesomest
Why? I understand some of the restrictions placed on Lord characters, like having to come every chapter and not being allowed to die, but why can't we reposition them? Is there some unfair advantage to be gained by moving them that IS is trying to avoid or what?
cyron
i think it has to do with them being forced into the chapters but a more experienced hacker will give you a better explanation
Loki Laufeyson
Arent all forced units in any given FE, unable to be repositioned?
The Awesomest
Yeah, now that you mention it, why can't we reposition any forced unit?
shroudening
I'm inclined to believe the inability to reposition the lord is partly because he is supposed to lead the army, and certain positions would not work well for the leader. It's basically representing the idea that the commander should be in a place where he can lead (as in not the front lines, or off to the side). It would be a bit odd to have a map where people kinda are in far away groups at the start, and to have the leader being in the smallest one with the big part of the army in another. deuxhero
I'm going to guess it's how forced units, including the lord, appear in cutscenes and it is easier to just have them run to one spot as the battle starts instead of coding it so they get into the position the player chooses. Ruko
You can't reposition the lords because one, they're the strategists in the game and two, they're important in the story and you need them when you play a Chapter of the game.
deranger
You can't reposition them because IS doesn't like LTCers

Lord Raven
what difference does it make your mounted unit will be rescuing them anyway if not that then they'll be warping to the throne all the time

deranger
i hate you now i want to do it If you need something to do can you make an item that when carried nullifies damage done from more than 2 range? (So all bows can have 2-3 range without being broken) /endofftopic

OrangeCrush980
For some reason I always thought it was because there was a technical problem that the programmers were too lazy to fix.
CT075
it's clearly intentional there's extra code to ensure that any forced characters don't have their event coordinates thrown into the array of available positions
