Like The Great Purge but it happens 2-3 weeks before or after new years so it feels less hackneyed, except that it feels planned because it happens at that spacing from new years instead of on it so it feels MORE hackneyed.

Over 9000 purge:

Life posts fake suicide farewell-triggered-by-death-note a few weeks before new years then declares a purge on new years. Godliek. I expect an epic conclusion within the next 2 months.
