Gorgar
So those of you who wanted new Eeveelutions... Meet Ninfia. Type (and possibly evolution method) speculation gogogog...! I'm quite skeptical about this one... It looks EXTREMELY similar to Victini's face including the mouth. Even the color scheme is nearly identical, it seems. THOUGH since we dunno how it evolves, they COULD possibly be related. EDIT: I was skeptical before 'cause I had heard something about fake Coro Coro scans, so I wasn't too sure about it, but I saw the little "gameplay" picture, so I'm not really skeptical about it at this point. Though I still think it's eyes look almost identical to Victini's, as well as it's mouth. Edited February 13, 2013 by Gorgar
Emeraldfox
Pfft, it's like only Leafeon took the photo seriously. Anyway, I'm okay with this. I do wonder what type it will be.

They are similar save for eye-color and possibly shape.
Kon
She's so adorable~ My guess is Naormal type as well, but I can't even begin to guess her evolution method.
Gorgar
Really? I thought it's face was similar to the other Eeveelutions. They are similar save for eye-color and possibly shape. Yeah, I might've worded that a little poorly. And I saw the little gameplay picture. I hadn't noticed it before So I guess it's legit. Their heads/faces aren't too alike in shape, but their eyes (save for shape, Victini's are just circles while these have a bit more of an ovular shape to them...) look almost identical to me. Melonhead
The typing is a secret, so my guess would be a new speculated type, like light or special. Still, it looks more artificial than the other eeveelutions. I hope this isn't a theme for the new generation.. Edit: Even though this does seem official, look a bit closer at it compared to the other eeveelutions: This one has light blue eyes, while the others have a more dark or reddish tone. Also, while the ears of the others are more defined, sharper, and thinner, this one's ears are more ovallike and flat. It just seems to stand out more in the art. Note the bows and streamers as well. Maybe customization to the pokemon's actual looks is a new feature? WIth the pokemon musical dress ups, this could happen. BBM
I'm surprised no one has stated the obvious yet- Ninfia doesn't end in -eon.
Lord Raven
I'm surprised no one has stated the obvious yet- Ninfia doesn't end in -eon. Is it even the localized name though? Leafeon and Glaceon were Lefia and Glacia in japanes ei think
Acacia Sgt
Is it even the localized name though? Leafeon and Glaceon were Lefia and Glacia in japanes ei think Indeed. The screenshot comes from Coro Coro Magazine, which is Japanese only, so Ninfia is the Japanese name only. So for the moment the localized names for Ninfia are not known. RJWalker
The typing being a secret is nothing special. Most new pokemon don't have their type revealed until later. If Reshiram didn't turn out to be a Light Type Pokemon, Ninfia sure as hell will not be one either. It looks Normal to me.
donkeykhang
Seeing how feminine Ninfia looks and the whole X/Y theme, I wonder if more split evolutions depending on gender is going to be a more prominent thing. Probably not. Ninfia radiates with cuteness. Its colour scheme reminds me of Skyla.
Acacia Sgt
And now, the international reveal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pse_I1klRhA And following the pattern, English name is Sylveon. Other language names are also revealed.
Esme
Wow, Sylveon is incredibly cute. I'm definitely gonna use it on my future X/Y team.
Randoman
Not sure if this is fake or not but it's an interesting read: -Main characters are Jean and Jane; names are non-customizable-Trainer now appears in the bottom screen during battle, with a speech bubble interface holding the trainer commands inside -Trainers now have their own leveling system that affects how in-game NPCs react to you and grants various bonuses such as increasing capture rate and the rarity of Pokémon encountered -A new key item called the Whistle can be used once per battle with differing effects, such as waking up a Pokémon or snapping it out of confusion. A bond level replaces the happiness meter from past games; higher bond levels -grant bonuses such as experience or stat gain for Pokémon -Bond level bonuses and the whistle feature can be turned off in PvP matches for the benefit of competitive play -A new item called the Bond-EYE that resembles a pair of sunglasses allows players to view the nature of wild Pokémon and their capture rate -The Bond-EYE also allows players to see visual avatars of other players and send them messages or trade and battle requests; this feature, akin to the Miiverse function in Nintendo Land, will be the first of its kind on the 3DS -Wireless co-op is now possible, with one player being the leader and the other aiding in battle -Players not able to play cooperatively will be allowed to request aid from NPC trainers in their adventures via a juice bar located in every town -The PokéDex resembles a tablet with a 3D display that allows players to view -Pokémon models, read full paragraph descriptions of them, hear their cries, view their locations, compare their sizes and weights with others, and read comments made by other trainers around the world about them -Excess money can be stored in banks that grant interest and special gifts upon depositing certain amounts -Using a special wristwatch device, players can travel 30 years into the past which features different characters, younger versions of current characters, different layouts, and different wild Pokémon -The rival faction is Team Gear whose members wear purple bodysuits with black clock hands on them; they mess with events in the past that affect the present -In one part of the game, you must catch a Munchlax in the past to clear the road of a Snorlax in the future, suggesting that past generations of Pokémon will be available from the start -The professor is Professor Bristle and the rival is Ricki, a magazine writer who documents the strange events occurring in the past -The new generation consists of 99 new Pokémon, many of them baby Pokémon (something Leviathyn writer Ray G. doesn’t want to see) and new evolutions of current Pokémon -Sylveon is a Normal Pokémon that evolves based on the new bond level; it is the only new Eeveelution -There will be a total of six legendary Pokémon that include Xerneas (Psychic/Rock) and Yveltal (Ghost/Flying) along with four black and white Pokémon based on card suits: a cobra with a heart-shaped hood and tail, a tiger with diamond patterns, a t-rex with spade-shaped eyes, and a peacock with a club-shaped tail -Most of the brand new Pokémon will be new type combinations such as Fire/Ice and Dark/Electric (something Leviathyn writer Ray G. does want to see) -The types of the final evolutions of the starter Pokémon will be Grass/Flying, Fire/Psychic, and Water
Fateborn
WHAT? The bad team's name doesn't starts with S? So the conspiracy theory of GRAMPS is out the door.
Liz
Sylveon will be flying type. i fucking called it. why? Because Sylveon, its English and Italian name, sounds like it is derived from sylph, which are invisible beings of the air. Its Japanese and French name are Ninfia and Nymphali, derived from nymphs which are essentially nature spirits in Greek folklore. Watch GameFreak prove me right! granted, it's rather unorthodox for them to make a flying type without wings, but it wouldn't be the first time they've done it. and those streamers are awfully blowy to just be decoration. Not sure if this is fake or not but it's an interesting read: i call bullshit on these rumors. mostly because they're mostly about time, and i honestly don't see the connection between X and Y and time. and we already have Dialga so it would feel like a repeat Edited March 4, 2013 by Liz
frat_tastic
I'm also thinking it'll be a flying type. It looks very kite-like.
S_Cero
I really want Sylveon to be a normal just because it trolls the people who wanted it to be flying.
RJWalker
The very first part of that rumour disqualifies the whole thing. Non-customizeable names? lolno
Icon of Sin
The very first part of that rumour disqualifies the whole thing. Non-customizeable names? lolno According to a new post from him, it was apparently about their appearances. Either way this is pretty dubious, but there's a few things here and there that I'd enjoy, such as unexplored typings. Then again, new evolutions and baby Pokémon seems kinda filler. Ukulele no good!
And now, the international reveal. http://www.youtube.c...d&v=pse_I1klRhA And following the pattern, English name is Sylveon. Other language names are also revealed. Ok, hear me out. Look at the "A Guide To Eevee Evolutions" on that page, the graphic with Eevee in the middle and the evolutions all around it. The evolutions are arranged so that super effective pairs are opposite each other. Flareon is opposite Glaceon. Fire is supereffective against Ice. Umbreon is opposite Espeon. Dark is supereffective against psychic. And so on, it's consistant for all of them. Sylveon is opposite Jolteon. This means Sylveon, if the pairing is consistent, will have to be either supereffective or weak to Jolteon. Flying type is consistent with this. My money is now on flying type. Liz
what i'm wondering is if they'll be introducing another eevee evolution. so far, every time they've added an eevee evolution, it's always been at least in pairs, three in gen 1. :/ if they do, i'm vouching on steel
Acacia Sgt
I wouldn't be surprised if Sylveon does end up being a Flying Type. Now I wonder which other Pokémon are gaining evos/pre-evos...
