IceBrand
I say FE12.
BrightBow
Well, one can actually choose a class in FE12. So it's not much of a contest. Edited October 11, 2013 by BrightBow
Soledai
Preferred FE12s, FE13 just has more bells and whistles, ^ also thats what second seal is for EDIT: *Slightly more bells and whistles Edited October 11, 2013 by Soledai
Gregosa
12 cause you could choose what class you wanted from the start. I also really liked the accessories you could wear like a hat or bandana.
ZemZem
FE12 by far.
Fruity Insanity
FE12 because you can actually choose what class to start in. Edited October 11, 2013 by Fruity Insanity
IceBrand
Do people not like Tactician/GrandMaster?
Nobody
12, not only because of the classes, but also because you can choose your avatar personality/origin
Soledai
I don't think it's that people don't like the tactician class, just they would've like the extra step of picking what you start with, even if it were limited... Me, I like Tactician, it's the closest I'll get to the Mage Fighters from FE4/5, but even still, I probably would've started with something else Edited October 11, 2013 by Soledai
PKL
FE13 wins how the Avatar looks in female. FE12 wins how the Avatar looks when male. FE12 has better customization when it comes to classes and stuff. So FE12.
Parrhesia
FE12's stat changes are referenced in dialogue ("I was orphaned" etc). I don't think FE13 says "So you were a -Def, huh? What's that like?" I guess it's because FE13's seems more intended to be a self-insert.
Icon of Sin
They both suck ass. That said you could look like a drug addict with a purple afro in FE12 so there's that. Edited October 11, 2013 by Woodshooter
Integrity
Literally only voted FE12 for the hat, totally indifferent otherwise.
Rehab
FE12 appeals to me pretty strongly by actually giving the player some input in writing the character, and into the way the player conceives of them beyond their appearance and function. That said, while the customization is better, it feels a bit odd to have a character who can be supplied one of many origins, personalities and aspirations, and then limit the number of choices they can make to mostly standard, linear fire emblem fare. FE12's stat changes are referenced in dialogue ("I was orphaned" etc). I don't think FE13 says "So you were a -Def, huh? What's that like?" I guess it's because FE13's seems more intended to be a self-insert. The idea that the term "self-insert" doesn't usually mean "PC given a wide enough range of choices on how to act, in a wide enough range of situations, that the player has the chance to do 'what they themselves would do' in that situation," as often as it seems to tend towards meaning "PC who the game refers to as YOU," feels kinda depressing. (Not that you're wrong or that this is trying to be snippy, for the record)
Hawk King
Being able to choose your starting class adds waaaay more to the amount of depth and replayability to the game.
Newton
FE12, because being able to choose initial class and changing growths/bases in a more depth way Awakening did, IMO.
