Getting broken characters is incredibly easy on Awakening, plus unlimited supports and pair up, so I'd say that's the easiest. (Especially Morgan. My amazing, sweet child.) At least, there were a couple of hard chapters in FE8, like 11 and 14. (Goddamnit, L'Arachel. Goddamnit, Rennac. Goddamn staves. Goddamn FoW.)

Actually, I think on normal modes, most recent Fire Emblem games are easy after one playthrough. While luck is a factor in terms of hit/crit rates, level ups etc, usually the only thing that makes Fire Emblem challenging is not knowing what's coming. Also, I personally have much more trouble with a series like Advance Wars, because in Fire Emblem, units with good stats simply wreck the game.

Path of Radiance and Sacred Stones are especially easy. Tons of amazing units and no enemies to match them. Two "Jeigans" who make viable endgame units thanks to fantastic growth rates. Also, the early chapters aren't really challenging, which is usually the tough part of Fire Emblem. Both also provide really easy options to level up outside of the chapters. These games aren't even challenging the first time through.

Even Fire Emblem 6 is mostly easy on normal mode after you've played through it once, but is more challenging the first time through. Fire Emblem 7 is honestly not much harder than FE8/FE9 in terms of its chapters, but it doesn't have easy level up options aside from the standard Arena and maybe the fairly easy Lyn mode if you count that (but it doesn't in my eyes). Radiant Dawn is actually challenging on normal mode from what I've played so far, but that mode is the same as hard mode in the Japanese version so that is a different situation.

The absolute easiest on normal mode, however, is Awakening. There was absolutely no challenge anywhere to be found. Well, sometimes the open maps make it a little tougher to protect healers and mages and stuff, but your units are generally so powerful that it doesn't matter. I think there was one single chapter that somewhat troubled me, and that was a certain desert chapter I think with a moving promoted boss and some chests I wanted to nab. Also, let's not forget about all the grinding options or the amazing stuff you can get from shops early on.

Can't comment on the other games in the series though. From what I've heard, 4 is pretty easy as well.

Seth=Ginger Sigurd Titania=Female Ginger Sigurd

Also thats why people play effeciency

You can use knoll in FE8 but you will baby him and slow down just to make him any sort of positive force (unless its like 0% growths)

FE8 HM is NOT the easiest HM in the series. That title goes to FE9 HM. Hell, FE8 HM is harder than FE7 EHM, which is pretty much ENM but with limited deployment. Don't give me that 'but EHM is the hardest to get an S Rank in' argument, because we're not assuming that.

FE8 HM is still pretty tame as far as HMs go as a whole, but Ephraim's route has some pretty annoying chapters, specifically Chapters 11 and 14. The monster rush and berserk staves both were more of a challenge than anything FE9 HM threw at you. Berserk Ashnard is trivialized with Wrath/Resolve!Ike, and I feel Ike's growths are solid enough to guarantee him to get the skills. And even then, FE9 gives you a lot of boosters, so you'd probably have to give Ike a few energy drops if you'd get unlucky. But still.

I dunno if we're assuming postgame, but Lagdou Ruins on HM is also a solid challenge.

EDIT: damn, I'm sad I missed the previous fun in this thread :(

I really don't know about this one. If we're not factoring in Tower grinding they're close to even, with 1-2 tricky maps, but grinding is so easy and so safe that it seems silly not to factor it in.

We're not factoring in grinding.

EHM also has reduced experience gain.

And EHM being harder to S rank than HHM is a load of crap.

Reduced experience gain doesn't mean much when the enemies aren't very threatening in the long run.

Only going with from what I've heard in regards to EHM's missing two chapters. But you know what you're talking about, I'm sure, so forget it.

The summons make good fodder for long range stuff.
