Is this purely based on beliefs and social stigma of the place people where raised in? I mean, if something as simple as that is enough to make you go "eew" then you really didn't like the pairing so much in the first place. Even if you don't count Azura and Kamui, the sheer number of incest that can happen in gen 2 is something that could make Genealogy proud. You don't even need any effort to make Grey x Midoriko happen, for example. There's no escape from this when Kamui can marry Shigure or any other kid from Azura, or all the incest that can happen between the kids from the princes with any girl that happens to have a princess as their mom. I don't want to start anything, but I just know people are going to blow this Azura thing out of proportion again while ignoring (or being ignorant) that this isn't an issue in the place the game was made - they're not trying to be as offensive as possible, it's just not illegal there. That or they'll go "waah waah how dare Japan not have the same cultural stigma as me!" and then demand for it to be changed anyway. This. I understand that marriage of first degree cousins might be uncomfortably close for a lot of people, but it is not incest. For that reason, I also doubt that NoA will change them from first degree cousins to "family friends." Marriage between first cousins is not even considered incest (under family law) in a majority of America's States (plus, Genesis seems to endorse it--ala Isaac and Rebeca). States that define marriage of first degree cousins as incest are: North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wisconsin. Does anybody find it odd that she joins you on Chapter 9 in Conquest as opposed to 6/7 in the other two campaigns? Is it because she's been with the Hoshidan royal family since childhood and immediately ditching them for the Avatar would've been a bad move? Iron Griffin Posted July 11, 2015 Share Posted July 11, 2015 Well after taking some time calm down and think things through a little I'm not as bothered by this revelation as I first thought I was from a moral stand point(still awkward though) but I am still rather bugged by it from a story telling one, it could have been handled a lot better by the writers(Along with a number of other things in Fates) Instead on focusing on Aqua's now revealed family relation to Kamui its just used a way to get him/her onto the throne which makes the whole thing feel random and a missed opportunity for some good character moments not to mention the fact its only mentioned(indirectly as well) once and never brought up again only makes it even more awkward. . Don't beat yourself up over it. Also, Azura's "two halves of a whole" quote is really bringing back that Chrom and Robin dynamic that I like so much. Ah, memories. I mean, cousin marrying is considered incest in a couple states in the US, so I image NoA will change it just to be safe. As I mentioned in another thread, they will probably just change it to say that Kamui's mom is also part of the Invisble Kingdom's royal bloodline. It would be far easier to just make them more distantly related. Like 3ed or 4th cousins just sorta gets raised eyebrows but nothing more in all the places that do have an issue with 1st cousins marrying.
