I only commented on unfulfilled pairings last time (seems like you used the pairings I suggested +swap Mozume and Felicia) so you should know my comments for those already. for the other pairings and swaps Kamui x Hinoka!Matoi really depends on your Asset/Flaw and secondary but it's all good. I personally go for +Spd so while I might've liked to do this pairing myself, Kanna comes out good but not stellar (why my Subaki's Spd such so much). very balanced but no exaggerated stats like +7 Spd Ryouma x Rinkah approved. your reasoning from last time was fine Takumi x Hana oh, you swapped out Camilla. hmm versatility is good plus FlannelxCamilla for MORE -40% HP goodness Hinata x Pieri to add on, does slightly patch up Hisame's Spd, too since Pieri's one of the +1 Spd mothers Subaki x Hinoka self explanatory Kaze x Mozume Aptitude would also work wonders for her since it'll mean even more Luc. Mozume could also pass down Bowfaire or other Bowman skill for Midoriko's Merchant? see Nishiki x Felicia though Jakob x Azura Rally Bots galore! though part of me really, really wants to stack up the +Spd mods with someone else but that's just me. Silas x Oboro agree with your reasoning Nishiki x Felicia eh, I probably like Nishiki x Mozume better. Nishiki doesn't benefit a great deal and neither does Kinu. both like Str a tad bit more, especially if you want them in their base class. Kaze x Felicia is -1 Luc but 1% difference is barely anything. the other factor is Felicia's 55 Luc growth to Mozume's 45 Luc growth + Aptitude, so (assuming (mother+child)/2) 5% in Mozume's favor, but that's only ~1.45 Luc by 20/20. Felicia is also one of the weaker units so she's better suited for support and thus doesn't really care too much for gaining Tomefaire. she can stil get Kunaifaire from Kaze and Cloning's always nice Tsukuyomi x Nyx pairing the magic users is just nice. though lol the kid with the deceptively old woman. Sorc does have +5 Dodge so the Luc issue isn't that big a deal. Flannel x Camilla even more -40% HP~ Leo x Sakura everyone synergizes well with Skills being passed around Zero x Setsuna something like this is what I wanted with +7 Spd ^^ Odin x Elise like Hinoka!Matoi (not quite the right shade but w/e), blonde Ophelia like Lissa *approve*. and again, magic together. Thor Odinson Posted September 2, 2015 Share Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) For what it's worth, Mozume is a packaged deal of Line of Death x Extravagance and best used on someone who don't naturally have at least one if not both. Due to being able to inherit a skill from Suzukaze, Midoriko can access the LoD/Extravagance combo without depending on a mother or any of her own partners. So Mozume's probably better used elsewhere. A few single-points of luck isn't going to make a huge difference on activation, esp since Midoriko's skill is flat activation rate addition. For Felicia I was basically reasoning that she has a stronger magic growth than her strength growth (35% vs. 10%, so neither is impressive, but magic is far better growth for her than strength nonetheless). Maid gets 10 and 10, so 45% vs. 20%. Hero gives 0 and 15 (35% magic, 25% Strength), Bow Knight is 35% magic, 20% strength). Strategist gives her 15% magic growth, so that would give her her best offenses while still retaining the ability to use staves. But then again, de-buff utility is another consideration… Now that I think about it, I now remember that Mozume x Nishiki had been considered last time because of Basara access for Mozume. That's something to consider, for breaking sky usage. Of course, Felicia!Midoriko would have had a -3 Str modifier, so that would really mess around with Midoriko's strength growth, and she doesn't have good magic growth. Then again, giving Felicia to Kinu messes with Kinu's strength growth, so yes, you're right, that's kind of problematic….. she does get a good resistance modifier, that said. Basically, Felicia seems a bit toxic to builds, in that she brings down very low STR and lowish magic for a magical character . And yes, Kuanifaire on Felicia would let her do physical damage a bit better…. she's still destined in the end to favor magical damage output due to her mods, that said… yes, Felicia favors Mag but even then she's below average thus I say you shouldn't need to worry about it. was just throwing in Kunaifaire as a mirror to Tomefaire (and use Explosive Shuriken). but yea, forgot about Mag growths. Kaze's -Str mods don't help though =\ Kaze doesn't really gain anything useful from Rod Knight either (maybe Prescient Victory from Mozume's Bowman but eh). I'd say the exchange is worth it though. Nishiki x Felicia --> Felicia!Kinu +0 Str, +3 Mag, -2 Skl, +4 Spd, +2 Lck, -2 Def, +4 Res Nishiki: Fox, Spellcaster, Rod Knight Felicia: Rod Knight, Mercenary, Spellcaster Kinu: Fox, Spellcaster, Rod Knight But Kinu suffers in STR and gets a +MAG mod she doesn't really need. Nice resistance and speed. Notably, Nine Tail Fox gets 34 RES normally, so this would bring her up to 38 in her starting tree, promoted. She could still chip with four-fangs. Her Strength growth would be 20% if its (child+variable parent)/2, so comparable to Setsuna, although her class growth would be less than hers. Of course, Setsuna is known for low STR, so this might be an issue. But like how Setsuna gets effective damage against fliers, Kinu gets effective damage vs. beasts (such as cavalry). No Maid + Ninja combo here (except through marrying Kinu to someone). As an aside, Nishiki's Gratitude is somewhat like a half Servant's Joy effect on whomever hals him… so Felicia, as a healer, would get a little extra healing herself whenever she healed him, perhaps stacking with her own Servant's Joy. EDIT: Oh, the user Ebony when ahead and in his great generosity made a image of my pairings (following up from a conversation resulting form a question I asked in a thread on Serenes). This image reflects the ones I proposed earlier tonight, before we started the Felicia vs. Mozume discussion for Kinu and Midoriko. I'm trying to avoid assuming too much in the way of inheriting skills from one parent's buddy onto the kid as that may require delaying getting the kids for a long time or be just generally inconvenient. Corrin x Matoi + Any Male: Corrin can get any number of buddy seals at A-rank with the same gender, so he works differently: Hinoka!Matoi x Corrin + Sophie: Matoi can use either of her weapon-faires (swordfaire, lancefaire) as a Cavalier/Paladin/Great Knight. Also helps fill out her strike options (Swallow, Flowing, Diamond, Mirror) and gives her another damage booster (Open Assault). Hinoka!Matoi!Kanna x Hisame + Mitama: Swordfaire benefits Kanna's A-rank sword options in either White Blood/Dark Blood, for when she isn't using her Dragonstone. It also works for Levin Swords. Astra helps out for Guard Stance shield-gauge building and can either be used by Kanna herself or Hisame in pair-up. Mitama gives Renewal to combo with Dragon's Child. How about: Lancefaire Defensive Formation Astra (five hits in Guard Stance --> fully charged Shield Gauge and thus a free Dual Guard charge) Free Free For free slots you could do stuff like Pavise, Defense +2, Confined Defense, Mirror Strike + Diamond Strike if you want him attack on player phase, etc. ADDENDUM: On an unrelated note, going back to my earlier discussion of whom Felicia should be paired with, another consideration is that she is a Tomebreaker source (Butler/Maid, level 15). So she could be used to take a unit with pre-existing anti-mage leanings and make them even more effective at that purpose (by giving them crazy evasion against tomes). Mozume is better for both kid's resistance due to aptitude, but if trying to craft a kid into a mage-killer (when maxed out, although admittedly you'd have already finished the story by then) then caps and Tomebreaker might be more useful for that in the end…. Mozume passes down a -2 RES mod and Felicia gives a +1 Res mod, so the same kid mothered by them will different in RES by three between versions. Now, both Kaze and Nishiki have anti-mage leanings… Nishiki's personal growth and class does have higher RES growth…. so Rod Knight COULD offer them something when maxing out, namely Tomebreaker to supplement this role. Basically, any woman who gets Samurai is already a decent candidate due to Vantage + Awakening. Astra and Swordfaire also help (Great Lord has A rank swords). Any woman who gets both Samurai AND Lance Fighter is in an even better position, as now she gets the -faires for both her weapon options in the class, depending on which one she wants to use, sword or lance. Her high speed will all-but assure that she double-attacks with a Beaststone+ or in a class such as Elite Ninja. Her atrocious skill mod, while deplorable, is less of a concern as she'll be doing most of her damage passively, through a combination of her personal skill, Four Fangs, Snake Venom, and a purchased Deadly Breath. However, I considered this pairing more for the potential it holds for Kanna. Kamui (+Spd/-Def) x Mitama --> Mitama!Kanna +3 Str, -2 Mag, +4 Skl, +9 Spd, +1 Luk, -2 Def, -1 Res Kamui: Nohr Prince, Ninja, Priest (A+ anyone, passes TBD) Mitama: Priestess, Herb Merchant, Bowman, Ninja (A+ Soleil for Mercenary, passes Swallow Strike) Kanna: Nohr Princess, Ninja, Priestess (A+ Velour for Fighter, S-Rank Lutz for Wyvern Rider) This Kanna has decent strength and skill, and excellent speed. A modifier of +9 ensures that no second-gen unit aside from certain Kinu setups can double her as the highest any of them would otherwise be able to hit is +8 (a +Spd MU and a +3 speed parent such as Kaze, Zero, Azura, or Setsuna). And with Swallow Strike as a Elite Ninja, she'll be able to double almost any of them in return. [spoiler=Uncertain Pairings] Odin and Takumi Elise and Orochi I'm having trouble deciding on pairings for them. Either way, Ophelia will have great magic, and Kisaragi will be effective as a Magic Bow user. However, Orochi seems to be more in-demand for her high skill mod which improves both a unit's hit rate and its crit rate. So I'm considering Orochi!Ophelia for a higher potential critical hit rate in conjunction with Ophelia's personal skill and tome. Admittedly, compared to Elise's -2 skill mod, this is only a 2-3% difference in Ophelia's crit rate. But I'm also considering Orochi!Kisaragi for a +6 skill mod, which as a Butler (courtesy of an A+ support with Deere) would allow him to be a better use of Misfortune and Sin which isn't affected by Hit/Avoid related skills iirc. This in turn will have some influence on whom Kanna will buddy/S-support As far as Hinoka!Matoi is concerned, I'd recommend Sophie for her buddy support. Mitama's Priestess class doesn't offer anything in particular unless you want Magic Counter for even more mage hate. Syalla's Spellcaster partially overlaps with Matoi's Lance Fighter inheritance. Eponine's Outlaw provides decent utility, but Sophie's Cavalier still seems more favorable due to having a lance rank at base, as well as access to Luna and Diamond Strike. With regards to Orochi!Mitama:Syalla is essentially a non-option as Mitama already inherited Spellcaster. Matoi's Pegasus Warrior is also a non-option seeing as Mitama is paired with Shigure. Soleil's Mercenary is an interesting choice as well. I understand you're going for a more magically-oriented Mitama but, mod-wise, she'll still have +3 strength and +1 magic. Kanna I can't rule on until I know your MU's secondary class. And now for Jakob!Shigure: From what I can tell, his only option seems to be Hisame's Samurai as Foleo's Rod Knight is always redundant. With regards to the first-gens: Azura innately has Pegasus Warrior, and has Rod Knight through S-support. Sakura's Priestess is therefore the only option. Jakob innately has Rod Knight, Cavalier, and has Pegasus Warrior through S-support. Takumi seems to be his only non-redundant option. Rinkah has Oni Savage, and Ninja, and has Samurai through S-support. Kagerou's Ninja is redundant. Charlotte's Fighter is probably best due to its axe rank and skill synergy. Behind that, Oboro's Lance Fighter is a consideration, I suppose. Ryoma has Samurai, Pegasus Warrior, and Oni Savage through S-support. Cavalier from either Xander or Silas is preferable for Luna, Diamond Strike, and sword access. Saizou's Ninja is a consideration, but it can only use swords upon promotion to Elite Ninja. Charlotte has Fighter and... Rod Knight, as well as Cavalier through S-support. I'd recommend Rinkah's Oni Savage for axe usage and Ogre Strike. Although Berka's Wyvern Rider line also uses axes and has access to Swordbreaker. It depends whether you want more potential to crit, or a buffer against her WTD to swords (although she'll still have WTD to tomes iirc) Xander has Cavalier, Wyvern Rider, and Fighter through S-support. Ryoma's Samurai is probably best for an inherent sword rank, Swordfaire, and Line of Death. Hana has Samurai, Priestess and Bowman through S-support. Between Effie's Knight and Felicia's Rod Knight, I'd be more inclined to go with Knight whose strength growths corresponds with Hana's innate 55% growth in that stat. Takumi has Bowman, Lance Fighter, and Samurai through S-support. A toss-up between Leo's Dark Mage and Jakob's Rod Knight would cause me to favor Dark Mage slightly due to an eventual sword rank upon classing as a Dark Knight if he first took some levels through Samurai/Trueblade/Weapon Master as well as Vengeance still being a semi-reliable skill when considering its activation percentage. Sakura has Priestess, Pegasus Warrior, and Dark Mage through S-support. Between Hana's Samurai, and Elise's Rod Knight, I'd lean toward the latter strictly from a magic-oriented standpoint. Leo has Dark Mage, Rod Knight, and now Priest through S-support. While few of his buddy supports have much magical affinity aside from the redundant Dark Mage from Owain, I'd lean toward Outlaw as Adventure has 15% magic and 20% speed growths. That's all I could think of at present. I'll see if I can finish off providing suggestions for the rest of the first-gens later, provided some of my other suggestions at least seem decent. astrophys Posted September 3, 2015 Share Posted September 3, 2015 I was looking at a Dark Mage Avatar, which gives me bind (for boosting the melee-range accuracy of Yato & Dragonstones), the option of Devilish Wind (+2 magic damage to enemies in radius of 2, which could help Levin Swords, Tomes, and Dragonstones among others), and Lifetaker. That and Kanna and Matoi will also be able to share its sword rank (via Dark Knight) with some of their other classes (Nohr Princess for Kanna, Matoi's Samurai tree). Yeah, Sophie makes sense for Matoi. Mitama would be able to pick up Dark Mage/Sorcerer/Dark Knight from Kanna, so I guess that would work well for Mitama. Thanks. His speed cap should be through the roof thanks to Aqua and Kamui having high speed modifiers.
