Well I had to redo C23 because I forgot to save, but this time around I Ninis' Graced Lyn and gave her a Killing Edge so she could tank next to the boss. Critikilled him on the enemy phase. Still four turns,

Chapter 25 - 8/133

Went through the snow, Ninian was blessed with the power of dodge and didn't even get hit by any of the long range spells so she could push Lyn and Hawkeye into the enemies. Completely abandoned Merlinus so I think he died around the time the snow stopped but he made for good bait for the enemies near the starting point because Ninian was backrunning.

Eliwood's mad res stat continued to pay off as he shrugged off the damage the magics inflicted and had Lyn pave a path for him with some boosting from Ninian. Hawkeye killed off all the units outside the building so Ninian didn't get wyvern rided, and she could get Lyn to the boss. Misclicks meant I attacked Kenneth with a Steel Bow but she still critikilled so it apparently didn't matter, and Eliwood could seize on the same turn.

Chapter 26 - 15/148

Went through the eastern door, recruited Nino with Eliwood, sent the kid behind Lyn across the middle path of the map to where Jaffar was chilling and had Lyn murder anything before Nino could even think about reaping the exps. Lyn sent some arrows over the wall to get the Boots off an unsuspecting thief, and when it looked clear I had Nino talk to Jaffar because free things are nice.

Meanwhile, Eliwood and Hawkeye and tearing apart the southern end of things, Ninian is pushing them forward and Hawkeye 1RKO'd the boss because he was bored. Eliwood decided to check in on the prince and they hung out until the end of the map because wow it's really barren in ENM.

Hawkeye was all over the place smashing heads because he can stand water, while Lyn was just sniping things or cutting down mobs of reinforcements. Ninian bolstered the speed of this, Jaffar held Nino close, and Eliwood saw little use,

Was considering bringing a thief to get that angelic robe per my hypothetical question, but passed on it. Probably missed out on Speedwings from that one chest that's really in the way but I doubt I'm missing out on anything.

Gave Hawkeye the boots and had him run around handing out some free axes. Lyn went west and beat up anyone he didn't get, in addition to Lloyd because there's no way my other units are wrecking him in a timely fashion. Eliwood stayed at home with Ninian to get Vaida.

Probably inefficient but this chapter was really annoying so I don't think I care.

I also shopped with Florina and got the Warp staff for the giggles.

Admittedly there was no need to even use Hawkeye probably, but I did anyway. Him on the left side, Lyn on the right side with Nils who together rushed the eastern side of the map and helped clear the way for Eliwood, speeding up his approach on the boss. Eliwood got a speed level up against the Warrior Hand Axe user near the boss, which may or may not have allowed him to dodge the hand axe (but not the boss' tomahawk) and kill the warrior on the enemy phase which cleared the way for a 7-turn clear.

I couldn't have done this without Georg being an idiot and not standing in my way, making killing him optional. :)

This chapter really didn't matter. I already have 2 powerhouses that keep getting bettur. Jaffar rescued Nino, Lucius went through the temple and Dart through the water. Sonia ate a killer axe.

Chapter 27 - 10/153

Fuck it. The stupid sniper ballista made me spend 2 more turns. Couldn't 7 turn it because Lucius had to attack Linus 5 times (11 dmg with Shine), so minimum was 8 turns. Also, Elidoof handled the wyverns pretty well because they targeted him instead of Merlinus! The power of 8 def and swords!!

Chapter 28 - 7/160

Rage. If Lucius had A Staff, I would've shaved like 4 turns but anyways, nothing stellar here. Lucius Shine blicked the boss.

Chapter 29 - 11/171

Lucius got to A rank in a single chapter with a Rescue use, and a bunch of Physic/Restore staves. Eliwood capped Spd. I got Body Ring and Dragonshield because thieves appeared.

Arena for Eliwood. Bought Silver, killer weapons amd a Divine, for nothing.

Chapter 30 - 4/180

Simple.

Pp1: Dart and Elidoof kill the cavs on the fort, Lucius full moves, gets danced and full moves again. At ep, the swdmastr dies. The cavs move to the forts near the Aura Bishop's house.

Pp2: Dart full moves and kills the bolting sage. Lucius full moves and rescues Nils, Nils plays him, Lucius moves two tiles and rescues Elidoof, Elidoof full moves up past the forts and equips Javelin just for 1-2 range. At ep, cavs and brigand gang on Nils, ballista attacks and ep ends.

Pp3: Dart kills one cav blocking Lucius and Nils, Lucius moves past the fort, gets played by Nils, and then Warps Elidoof to Limstella's area. Elidoof Silver crts her and doubles her, he eats a fimbulvetr for being a cheatur. At ep, stuff gangs on Nils agains, one cav, the aura bishop, purge bishop, two ballistas vut he only eats Aura and dodges the rest. Elidoof kills Limstella with a clean orko because he capped Str, he kills two knights and dodges the rest of enemies.

Pp4: kill more enemies, Dart got Set's Litanity just cuz yes, and Elidoof seizes.

Final: 3+1/184

Basically what Refa did. Elidoof openned warrior room with Killing Edge, Luicus opens Ursula room with Aura, Dart opens Darin's room with Tomahawk, Athos opens swordies room. Athos crtkilled Lloyd with Luna and chipped Linus, Eli crtkills Brendan, Lucius crt'd Ursula (33dmg), Dart did no crt shenanigans. By next phase Eli moves up with Javelin and kills the sage, Athos Luna kills Linus, then gets played and moves up using an Elixir. Lucius Shine crts Ursula (15dmg), Dart kills a longbow sniper. By ep, Kenneth crtkills Eli with Luce :( (4 crt!!). Anyways, Kenneth eats two javelins, the druid dies, the warrior dies and Eli caps skl and lck. Dart crts Darin and kills the gen. Lucius orkos Jerme with Shine. By next phase (pp3) Eli kills Kenneth, Dart kills the second longbow sniper and Lucius Auras Uhai. Then athos luna crts Nergal.

The dragon was the same as Refa, quad Luna. Lucius Physics him to survive the ep hit.

Analysis

My tc got hurt due to no early game units. I think basically the best formula for this drafts is an axe dude coupled with a mage. Dorcas, Bartre and Erk, Lucius, Canas are the best options.

I did really terrible in this draft, I totally forgot the Torch Staff in Chapter 18, it would've gotten Lucius to A Staves before Cog of Destiny and shaved turns in Valorous Roland. The most sensible chapters in this type of draft, imo, are 13, 14, 16 and 22 to some lesser extent, 25, 28 and maybe 30. Chapters 13, 14 and 16 are addressed with earlygame units, while 22, 28 and 30 are Magic unit/Warper matters. Chapter 25 is just trying not to get hero crest users EXP and have Serra facetank.

Overall, I enjoyed the draft! amd will wait for thr third part!

Eliwood pretty much solo'd the early-game until Lyn began standing on her own two feet, then he was still on par with the other two during the mid-game I guess, but eventually he just fell off when he wasn't promoting and enemies were getting tough in the late-game until he promoted. After that it was catch-up work and he managed that really effectively. Definitely the best Eliwood I've ever had, he steamrolled everything most of the time. I want to call him the MVP, but he really brought things down with his late promotion when the other two were outperforming him.

Lyn had a really shaky start, but I can't blame her for that because her bases aren't the best and Chapter 16 is a scumbag with constantly archers, but she started to pull weight a lot faster than I expected (like in 16x) and her powerful critikills were a godsend at points. The early strength was extremely fundamental to her success, I feel, because it meant she could 1RKO things fairly soon without relying on crits and that was nice when I was whipping out Iron Swords and the like which weren't critikilling often until late-game.

She became more awesome with bows and obliterated a ton of things with Killer Bows; the only time she wasn't helpful was against the dragon, but she was still a dear and double-crit it which may or may not have allowed me to two-turn the thing. I would call her the MVP, there were a bunch of bosses I had to rely on her to kill because no one else could, let alone as effectively and she consistently (like 80% of the time) 1RKO'd with only an Iron Sword throughout the run, which is the most hilarious thing.

Hawkeye didn't really have many shining moments because of how awesome Lyn and Eliwood had gotten by his recruitment, but his access to Hand Axes was a blessing for routing in Chapter 27 and the ferrying in Chapter 30 likely shaved off several turns. He hit freakishly hard when he connected an attack, but his accuracy wasn't the best until late-game where he forgot the weapon triangle existed and just terminated things. With the gift of the boots, he became amazing movement-wise, moving as far as a paladin but not as crippled by forests with the capability to cross both rivers an mountains.

This made him work like a flying unit, being able to search and destroy anything it could reach; which was pretty much everything. He was somewhat speed blessed, which meant he could abuse his con to double a lot of unsuspecting enemies, very neat. Like Lyn, he suffered against the dragon, having no contribution whatsoever to its defeat, but that only cost a turn at best. Can't really call him MVP, but he did his duty.

Good dancer, good bard: shaved off turns, sped up growth although use was limited when they accelerated units too much to keep doing that late-map.

Fairly helpful as my only magic user, managed to get a couple of kills on units I would've struggled a bit to kill otherwise and performed the only three heals in the entire run, two of which fundamental in felling the dragon.

Comparatively speaking I feel like I did pretty terribly, wouldn't be surprised if I came second-last or just last.

But as a first draft, I think it was very successful on my end seeing as 198 turns is only like twenty turns behind the current victor and I tore through it in under a week (unlike my still ongoing run), which still baffles me. This is apparently a really abstract draft so it probably gave me a less representative idea of how draft runs feel, but it was still really fun and so I'd love to take part in more of these in the future, especially if this sadistic concept is continued, perhaps into other games.

Uneeded Bolting Crit on the first Knight (I could've Mine'd him with Ninian, and actually expected to do that. Otherwise, the strat was reliable I think. Light Rune OP. Ton of exp for Nino. I also could've brought a Long Bow on Bartre to snipe the one sniper on the ballistae instead of having Nino drop a 2nd Bolting use, but I felt like the EXP might be more valuable on her.

I could've had Bartre use his Longbow on the first Steel Axe fighter in Eliwood's way, but I had Nino use Bolting on it instead. Eliwood makes it to the "Claim a Space" point in exactly 6 full moves, and for w/e reason, cantos on the Warrior in the middle, allowing you do to so (Otherwise i'd have had to burn Bolting #4). Bartre and Nino on the right side killed pretty much everything, including Georg, from across the wall, and Bartre even decided to hit B.5 in bows. He wants that Silver Bow rank. I /finally/ burned through Rath's Short Bow, too. Nino supported Eliwood some, that Bolting being key. I needed my 8 mov unit on the right side with Nils dancing, otherwise Eliwood would've been forced to take on Georg, and that is a bad matchup.

Hilariously, Bartre 2x crit'd across the wall, dealing 17x3 damage, twice. I mean...OK i didn't even want to kill him i just wanted him to move out of Eliwood's way.

Got lots of elixirs and a Rapier that I won't ever use.

Sweet rescue chaining with Bartre and Eliwood's ability to Light Brand the General and a Knight over at the bridge under Limstella allowed Bartre to haul Eliwood for a bit, drop him, and haul him some more, dropping him onto the fort under Limstella on Turn 6, while standing in front of it to counter Limstella with his Killer Bow, following up with a Silver Axe KO for the finish. Nino did a bunch, and Merlinus died. Still sitting on that Dracoshield/Energy Ring though in all honesty I'm not sure where to use it...gotta crunch some numbers and see if I need 30 Str Bartre for anything specific, or if I should just feed it to Eliwood.

On turn 1 PP, Canas kill Uhai with a Luna Crit. Athos rescue him and get danced by Nils.He then open Darin's room with the forblaze equipped.Eliwood open Brendan's room and sit at the edge of his range with the KE equipped while Guy open Jerme's room.

On EP, Athos kill Darin, the general and the snipers, Eliwood kill Brendan and Ursula suicide herself on Guy.

On turn 2 PP, Canas open Lloyd's room, he gets danced and kill Lloyd with a Luna crit. Eliwood open Kenneth's room with a spear equipped. Guy kill Jerme.

EP, Eliwood wipe Kenneth's group and Canas kill Linus with a Luna crit.

On turn 3, Guy kill the last warrior, Athos is warped next to Nergal by Canas and kill him with Luna.

Had to burn 24 RNs before doing anything because otherwise I would have dodged NOTHING for the entire first turn, somehow losing Athos, Eliwood and Nino on like 25 attempts of this chapter.
Other than that, pretty much everything else went smoothly. I burned 2 RNs with Nino on turn uhh...3 I think, because when I took notes, I was just thinking and that's what I did, so I just stuck with it.

I never did use that Energy Ring or Dracoshield, now that I think of it. Could've saved me time maybe? I don't know, it'd have killed Linus in one round but meh IM TOO LAZY TO REDO THIS

Everyone walked into Serra's Warp range. Eliwood managed to score two Killing Edge crits (the "rigging" done here was to ensure that he didn't eat Limstella's 46% counter, which would've 2HKO'd him). Legault did a bit of self-improvement and Nils got some dancing/dodgetanking time in.

Legault was in the worst possible position. He couldn't reach squat.

Serra unlocked Jerme's room, Athos unlocked Darin's room via Unlock staff (thus keeping him out of Uhai's range), Legault unlocked the Reed brothers thanks to Nils, and Eliwood sniped Ursula with a Javelin. On EP, Uhai moved out, and everyone ate counters (oddly enough, Jerme and co. targeted Serra, who had Aureola). After that, Serra critkilled Uhai (naturally), Athos continued to hold Darin (stop looking at me like that), Legault continued to play cat and mouse with Lloyd, Eliwood unlocked Brendan's room and was musically induced to murder the Bolting jerk in Kenneth's room. During the next turn, Legault continued his quest for S swords, Athos killed the guy behind Darin, Eliwood critkilled Brendan thanks to the Killing Edge (that's what the Skill Book was for), Serra killed a Sniper and used the Power of Music to run up and trade Eliwood's Killing Edge for a Javelin and down an Elixir. On EP, Kenneth, Brendan's mook, and Darin all suicided, and Legault was still mysteriously alive despite being pelted by both Reed brothers. On PP 4, Athos murdered Lloyd, Serra WENT UP, Eliwood galloped towards the last sniper in Uhai's room, and Legault got tired and assassinated Linus (Legault would've had four chances to do the assassination, so meh). On PP the final, Eliwood murdered the sniper, Nils used Filla's Might on Athos, Serra used Rescue on Athos, and Athos did not critkill Nergal (40x2 is a regular kill).

In order to enact my dragon strategy, I needed a really fast Eliwood with at least 21 Strength and a Body Ring. I used Filla's Might on Eliwood, and had him smack the dragon for 72 damage. Athos healed up, Legault and Serra dropped Nils somewhere a bit safer, and Hector grabbed Lyn out of the way. The dragon then finished the run for me by attacking Eliwood on EP.

In other words, screw Luna crits, I finished this one with Killing Edges and math!

Unit analysis

Eliwood - If I'd traded a couple points of Strength for Speed, it would've been a lot funnier. However, I didn't bother rigging levels, so meh.

Serra - I had a hell of a time getting her to promote, but once she did, she got the better half of her 50% Magic growth, and wrecked face. Thanks to her early meatshielding, she got something like 60 exp. for free.

Legault - Took a bit of time to recruit, but was absolutely solid once I had him. Random assassinations are welcome~!

Ninian/Nils - Was the dodgetank of the team, and a damn good one at that.

Athos - Thanks for the supercharged healing.

Overall

Don't recruit Serra first.

Eli chugged Vulns as he rushed the boss, Dorcas chipped damage then got the village. Could have been less if I bothered to have Eli chug the energy ring but I wanted the Dracoshield. Eli is already wtffast and Dorcas got a nice level too.

Well...that sucked. I tried to 6-turn, and it wound up with Eli facetanking and vulning out, which wasted turns to buy more vulns. Better than 16 if I went around, right? Oh and Eli hasn't proc'd speed since chapter 11...Dorcas got the gaiden, though!

Oh god...why? Just...why? I know, SO MUCH FAIL caused by having to constantly buy and chug vulns, and Eli doing his best to save Prissi as Dorcas swept the top then ran BACK to protect Merlinus after getting the Iron Blade. Eli has completely forgotten that he has speed and defense growths and actually looks more like Dorcas than Dorcas does.

Thanks, a relief. We have free Caelin team plus Flo being able to...hide like a pansy. Team Wil bought axes as the rest of the crew fought in the forest as he caught up. Sain saved the 2 villages. Plus MY Kent survived. SUCKERS! Eli and Dorcas took the Mountains. Dorcas beat the boss with a steel ax while kinda clearing a path for Eli. Merlinus, sadly, was a decoy. Hey look, Dorcas is a better axe-wielding Eliwood!

Eli ate the Dragonshield and Energy Ring before the chapter. He has the challenge of constantly waltzing to the throne as Dorcas gets Matt to the Hero Crest then cleans up the back. Unfortunately, Raven is an idiot and doesn't rush, and no Paladins means I'm not getting TO him. Funny thing is to make the Gaiden, I didn't have to rig a loldier avoiding a hit, but GETTING a hit on Raven...then had to rig a dodge at the very end of the chapter. Fun times... Stat boosters are marked as "(+2)", etc after the stat SHOWN on the screen. Eli started gaining more and more strength and seriously looks like Dorcas. Eli critblicked the boss :D.

Played it safe because I have PLANS for Canas' secret book. Eli runs left (at the Canas row), Dorcas takes out the northern alley pirate. Eli runs all the way left, Dorcas gets Canas, Canas runs towards Merlinus. Eli moves to the forest above the gap to Fargus and Vulns, Dorcas moves diagonal-left of the Canas village, hand axe equipped. Eli moves as far towards Fargus as he can, Dorcas blicks the Elfire mage with his Hand Axe. Dorcas kills and enemy, Eli talks to Fargus.

Eli played bodyguard to Flo while helping Dorcas as Dorcas rushed forward and Flo made a break for the mountains (carrying Dart, of course. NPC can rescue NPC~). Hilariously, Fiora survived and Merlinus died.

Dorcas blicked everything in the way except 2 knights, a nomad, and a troubadour. He even one-rounded the boss with a critblick of an Iron Axe! Eli took out the 3 I mentioned, giving Hector and Lyn a safe haven above the Sniper room (cause Dorcas blicked the sniper as he wasn't losing ground!). Was 2 movement away from a 8-turn, but I'm not gonna try this again with a riskier strat that loses my hand axes in favor of killing nomads faster. No thieves for me, but Dorcas did kill the member card cause why not? Exp!

EP enemies attack Dorcas, hand axe breaks on Iron Sword cav which causes them to split, archer tries to blick Ninian. Dorcas moves south, blicks Eubans with the Halberd on EP! (The secret book gave him 100 hit!) Ninian got a free dance on Eliwood.

Ooooh boy. Split party. Eli went right then doubled back to the middle, Louise went left then doubled back as well, she had the mission of getting Luna, Dorcas went south. Ninian dodgetanking on the mountains is a valid strategy! Oh, and Dorcas got the Hammerne before doubling back.
