Gradivus.
Most of you guessed it has to do with escape, right? that moment when you know about the escape mechanic, have things set up so everyone can flee, and accidentally don't have leaf escape last FUUUUU Edited October 19, 2015 by Gradivus. Gradivus.
I restarted, it was chapter 4 and I didn't access 4x either because I hadn't looked up the requirement, plus almost all good combatants got captured.

Gradivus.
Do any of C4x's reinforcements have door keys? I accidentally got my lockpicks captured and I can't beat it without a second/third/whatever you call it door key. Edited October 19, 2015 by Gradivus. General Horace
There are enough door keys in the chapter to beat it (assuming you recruit Asvel, he has one)

Gradivus.
I never savestate in FE. Or more like almost never. Idk, it feels cheap to me because it removes most of the tension and the "fuck yeah" feeling from getting out of a tough situation :P Edited October 19, 2015 by Gradivus. Yoshi2398
well the official VC rerelease of FE5has save states so i feel it's justified enough. it also helps maintain sanity
feplus
It also promotes bad habits and creates worse players.

Rapier
Thracia has mechanics that allow your staff to miss and characters to move twice completely randomly, ruining the strategy and careful calculation that FE games require with sheer luck. From my point of view these mechanics are bullshit and worth using savestates for. And I won't even get in details about warp tiles and that huge forest map that will teleport you to OP bosses with killer and brave weapons if you step in the wrong tile (and you need to read a guide to know about these wrong tiles). feplus
Unless you're aiming for a near-perfect rank, you can and should factor 99% misses into your strategy. Same applies for movement stars. The warp tiles in 16b are tedious but mentioned by the village and not a problem for unranked play, since the warp tiles teleport units away from danger. I find many people try and justify cheating Thracia when their strategy is what needs improvement. There is plenty of bull in a blind playthrough but the problems are largely with unexpected surprises, not the numbers. Jave
I have no issues BEATING FE5 without save states, specially in the second half of the game where it's mostly Warpskipping. But if I'm doing a Recruit-Everyone-And-No-One-Dies run then I use a save state for the most BS parts like recruiting Xavier or navigating through 24x (I skip these things in normal runs). BrightBow
I'm not sure if 99% misses are even a thing. I wouldn't be surprised if the game merely displays max 99% hit in order to hide that lethal blows against unkillable characters automatically miss. Jave
You can DEFINITELY miss against regular enemies with 99 Hit, as well as hit with 01 Hit. There's no such thing in Thracia as a surefire hit or miss (save for rigged events like earlygame Eyvel, Kempf in Ch.11 and Saias in Ch. 22)
MisterIceTeaPeach
Idk how many times I had trouble with the "wait" command on top. With the automatism in my head I click at once, whenever I want to use staves. It cost me some lives already... I can confirm it, had it several times that units missed on 99%. It's very real. Not being able to have a 100% hit in this game is a much more huge thing than it first seems. I have actually had a time in chapter 11 where I attacked Olwen with Orsin and his Pugi (don't ask why) and Orsin missed at 99% and then Olwen hit him with Dimethunder at 18%. Also, this is my first post ever.
