Vykan_12
Bonuses from a rescue is one thing, but bonuses from being captured by an enemy is another thing entirely. You'd think the captured unit would be considered incapacitated, so how on earth are they providing a support? Then again, videogame logic. Ansem
well think about it. if the love of your life was captured by an enemy, and that enemy is right in front of you holding that loved one. i would think you would be more motivated to kill the enemy and get the loved one back

Anouleth
It's better to have one ruleset for both capturing and rescuing instead of two, which makes the game more complicated without necessarily adding interesting gameplay.
Vorena
I came by to say the gender cracks annoyed me. Mecha's (:P) voice is amazing. DonDonOneFiveOne is always great to watch at work once again. Also, I am calling you DDOFO (D-doe-pho) from now on.
dondon151
Chapters 11x and 12 are both completed in 2 turns. Chapter 11x information New characters Fred (フレッド) - Paladin L26 > 9 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 1 | 0 leadership stars Fred is a serious individual who serves as lieutenant to this game’s lord. He’s a nosy person who likes to train constantly and builds fires when he’s not-- Wait, wrong Fred. FE5’s Fred looks like a pretty generic unit with unimpressive base stats and an unassuming portrait, but he’s really fairly decent. Being promoted is nice and having A rank swords is even nicer, as those allow Fred to function well both indoors and outdoors. Olwen (オルエン) - Mage knight L25 > 8 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 4 | 0 leadership stars Olwen deserves a mention here even though I didn’t recruit her in this playthrough. Olwen is the only unit in this game who doesn’t have to be recruited in a SSS rank playthrough, and that’s because there’s a unit later in the game who can only be recruited if Olwen either wasn’t recruited or was killed. Olwen is a fan favorite because she has an impressive personal weapon and a cute face with a pair of X chromosomes. Objectively speaking, she is merely passable. Her personal weapon is strong on paper, but the defensive penalty that it incurs when equipped renders it chronically dangerous to use. Important weapons and items Stamina Drink (S ドリンク)A Stamina Drink allows its holder to be deployed if fatigued and resets his fatigue to 0. Stamina Drinks circumvent the need to carefully manage fatigue counters as one progresses through the game, although they’re rare until they’re buyable in vendors (and expensive at 5000G a pop). Stamina Drinks are actually buyable as early as chapter 9, but it’s too far out of the way. Chapter 12 information New characters Mareeta (マリータ) - Swordfighter L26 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 5 | 0 leadership starsSkills: Luna (Nihil is from Mareeta’s equipped weapon) Most players will have had a taste of Mareeta back in chapter 5 when she was an enemy unit under Veld's mind control. With growths, she has the potential to become the most potent 1v1 combat unit in the game as a product of her skills, PCC, and personal weapon. Similar to Shiva, Mareeta would've been a great unit had she joined much earlier, but no matter how amazing her combat is at base, there's no niche for an unpromoted infantry sword user at this point in the game. Important weapons and items Sleep (スリープ)C rank staff | infinite rng | 8 WT | inflicts sleep on target with lower mag Sleep is the first really bad status effect that the player encounters at a point where he doesn’t have a Restore staff. Thanks, IS. In addition to status effects lasting forever, sleep in FE5 reduces all of a unit’s stats sans luk to 0. Not only can sleeping units be instantly captured, but they’re also trivial to kill. Jormungandr (ヨツムング)C rank dark | 1-2 rng | 12 WT | 14 MT | 70 hit | 10 crit | poisons target Jormungandr is the basic dark tome in FE5. It’s also the only 1-2 rng dark tome usable by the player. In enemy hands, this spell is annoying because it poisons on contact in addition to having big MT and some crit that requires scrolls or supports to negate. In player hands, it’s only good for trying to OHKO enemies with a big attack. Like other poison-inflicting weapons, Jormungandr won’t poison enemies. Moblin Major General
If and when FEXNA gets released, I'm going to try making a Thracia 776 remake that fixes some of the one-sided shit in this game, especially that enemies have poisoning Yotsmungand, and having status inflictions end after 5 turns. Shame that you dumped Olwen for Eyrios .
Ansem
But Eyrios is the better unit
dondon151
jormungandr poisoning is so insignificant that it barely matters
Paused
'Having some (Wind) tomes to just blow on some enemies' was a just awful pun and you should feel bad.
sirmola
jormungandr poisoning is so insignificant that it barely matters Except when there is another dark mage with hell right next door. It's also still kind of annoying that they made a weapon that is explicitly different and better when enemies are using it.
dondon151
i meant that jormungandr [not] poisoning enemies is insignificant jormungandr poisoning allies is deadly in combination with hel Edited April 5, 2016 by dondon151
Dr. Tarrasque
We also need to have Asvel grind up his Wind magic rank Hmm, Tornado's MT or Blizzard sleeping shenanigans?. Maaaaaaan the days when the mere mention of not recruiting Olwen like this would start some silly shitstorm.... Colonel M
On a side note - I'm really surprised that you can use the shop so freely. One of the bigger complaints with FE5 casuals usually seemed to complain about lack of Gold. Then again, I guess capturing and selling useless items helps a lot. Arena too.Do you even make use of Shanam's Bargain later on, though? Edited April 7, 2016 by Colonel M
Gradivus.
Shanam can't be recruited in A route. EDIT: Stuff like iron weapons, basic tomes and yotsmung also sell for a bit over 1000 at full uses in this game. If you capture a bunch of those along the way, you shouldn't need to worry a lot about money. Edited April 6, 2016 by Gradivus.
Yojinbo
I've never understood the complaints about money management being such a problem either. Lifis alone can steal like 5 fresh fire tomes in Ch.5 for 5K and that's not including the very conveniently located arenas in Ch.7 and Ch.10 and other useless stuff you pick up that sells for solid amounts of money. Mekkah
You don't get much money but you get a ton of weapons for free (like Prf) and some chapters barely feature any fighting.
dondon151
Chapters 12x and 13 are completed in 6 and 3 turns, respectively. Chapter 12x information New characters Salem (セイラム) - Loptyr mage L56 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 1 | 0 leadership stars The first ever recruitable dark mage in the Fire Emblem series comes in the form of a stylish dude with bright red retro hair. Somewhat ironically, Salem is useful far more for his staff ability than for his dark magic, since dark magic is incredibly heavy in this game. He can also use anima magic, which is a better offensive option in playthroughs with growths. Salem is one staff rank and a promotion away from becoming our second Warp-capable staffer. Pahn (パーン) - Rogue L37 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 5 | 0 leadership starsSkills: Steal, Vantage, Sol (Charm is from Pahn’s equipped weapon) Pahn serves as kind of a foil to Lifis, both in terms of character and stats. Where Lifis is cowardly and wicked, Pahn is courageous and virtuous. Pahn's base stats aren't terribly impressive, but they're offset by a good sword rank, 5 PCC, and a couple of useful, skills. He can hold his own in combat and adapt well to different situations. Tina (ティナ) - Cleric L15 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 1 | 0 leadership stars Chapter 12x is an infuriating experience for players who don't know the best way to approach it, and part of that reason is because Tina will be robbing player units from the safety of darkness every turn. Tina's claim to fame is having not 1 but 2 personal staves that pack tons of unique utility. She’s responsible for saving lots of turns in this playthrough and is a must-use unit for any player. Her only drawback is her terrible base staff accuracy. Important weapons and items Thief (シーフ)Prf rank staff | infinite rng | 5 WT | steals item from target with lower mag The only requisite for successfully stealing items via Thief is that Tina’s mag be higher than the target’s mag - there’s no limitation on WT. This allows for Tina to steal weapons that normally can’t be stolen, namely those with 20 WT. She also doesn’t have to physically be in precarious situations to steal something. Unlock (アンロック)Prf rank staff | infinite rng | 5 WT | opens target door or chest Unlocking doors and chests from afar can save turns or grab items that save turns. It’s really simple. Chapter 13 information New characters Trude (トルード) - Swordfighter L86 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 1 | 0 leadership starsSkills: Nihil Trude is another unpromoted infantry sword user. Glade (グレイド) - Duke knight L26 > 9 mov | pursuit critical coefficient = 1 | 1 leadership star One can get an appreciation for how great Finn is by comparing his promoted base stats with Glade's. Glade can be thought of as Finn without a Brave Lance - they both even bring a leadership star. Glade is a decent combatant when mounted, but his dismounted combat is abysmal. Regardless, he'll often be deployed only to contribute his leadership star. Important weapons and items King’s Sword (おうじゃの剣)C rank sword | 1 rng | 10 WT | 13 MT | 70 hit | 20 crit | grants Charm skill to user The King’s Sword is a ridiculous weapon when you think about it: it’s a Brave Sword with crit and one of the best skills in the game. In this playthrough, the King’s Sword will be used almost exclusively for its Charm skill because the remainder of the game is not heavily demanding of combat. Leif has a base sword rank compatible with the King’s Sword, and he is the best Charm bot because he tends to be around combat.

Nintales
A generic lived to tell the tale. ;_; Sad they don't even get captured. They get mercilessly forgotten. ;_; #genericslivematter If I got this correct every escape map is like this : - Deploy Leaf + Flier - Deploy fillers because you need to fill the quota - Make Leaf + Flier get to the end of the map - ??? - Escape with Leaf + Flier Btw, are you going to rescue these guys in Chapter 21x or will you just enter and leave?
