I guess that's the point of this mission. Scarlet also seemed displeased with the events that had just transpired, and endeavored to make her stance on matters known...through an ear-piercing shriek. "SKRAEEEEEEE!" Never have I been more grateful for your interruptions. Though he didn't have time to thank Scarlet, he had a duty to fulfill. Reaching into his bag he pulled out the package he had to deliver, and began upon his message, "Prince Owen! My name is Marcus of the Griffon Knights, my partner's name is Scarlet, and we both hail from Toulouse. It was my duty to escort a diplomat to Wyke, and make sure matters went smoothly. They did not. There was an attack upon Wyke during my escort duties, Deira attacked Wyke, my lord." Having brought Owen up to speed on current events he continued to the second part of his message. Holding the spear up high for all to see he spoke again, "This is the fabled spear, Rhongomiant. A gift from Duke Herman himself. It has become my job to deliver this to you, and I intend to finish it. However," Marcus then pointed Rhongomiant at the leader of this small band of wyverns, "this group here would seek to interfere with that mission. They wish to take this spear for themselves, yet claim to want to help you. I don't buy their story for a second, if they truly wanted to help you they wouldn't be trying to attack me, and if they didn't know what the spear was then they shouldn't have followed me in the first place. Furthermore, they ride wyverns, good prince. Not a sign of trustworthiness considering recent events." He then patted Scarlet's head playfully, "Wouldn't you say Scarlet?" "Grrr..." She wasn't heartless, but this mess could wait until after the battle was resolved... as could the news of Deira's attack, although that was much more worrying. Just finish this quickly... she told herself, hurrying to assist Owen with battling the enemy leader. The modifications to Pinaka seemed like a bit of a waste of money now. But alas he knew its not all about him. Still, he moved away to continue healing duty but kept a close eye on the situation, ready to assist if tensions between them rose again. Before they had interfered, this battle had been much more straightforward- a routing of those who dared attack Wyke's heirs. Still, regardless of outside action, those attackers hadn't gone away either. With Claire and Owen cornering one of the leaders and attacking, she had the opportunity to join in as well. "Thank you," was all she spoke of Emmet's healing before advancing towards Thantes. "You think to strike at us and use bows to whittle me down? Your two groups and numbers did nothing for you- now it's time for payback!" she bellowed, striking at him with the lance she'd retrieved just earlier. He couldn't have been said to think as he rode, wheeling by habit back to combat. The tremendous beasts held Angus' rapt and mindless attention, powerful buffeting unable to drown out one voice. Then another! That cry for help was more important than any number of holy lizard-riders. Through the trees Angus weaved, finally hooking an arm around his friend before disappearing from the mages' baleful eyes. His mount's stamina lasts until just into open turf; those wyverns would be catching up any moment now. They didn't. These likely Reliants hadn't moved. A moment's reprieve, beyond Angus' explanation but not his appreciation. "Help", the knight coarsely asks of the nearest familiar face; he was having enough trouble keeping himself on the horse. "Angus~" she managed to groan out, through her smile. Unbeknownst to her, that elfire spell had done more than hurt, as her arm had been entirely burnt by it. The pain hadn't entirely registered, until Angus finally put her down, Emily mentioning things that were missed by the incredible sensation that began to hit her. Gods, is this what Claire does to people? It's maddening! It's enough to make me scream, had I the energy! Good, Engel above, what a terrifying pain! She didn't manage much else, having to calm down the searing pain to speak again. It took her a moment. "Angus... Haha, th-thank you. You've saved me, again. Always around right wh-when I need you, aren't you? Now... Wh-Where's Emmet? I think I need, some form of attention... Oh, Esclabor, quiet you~ I'm... Ugh, fine~" The shakiness of her voice belied how she tried to compose herself as. Still, they were in a battle. No time to rest. "You look, a bit beat up yourself, Tommy... And you, too Angus! But you look, better than I do, what a lark~ I misjudged a few things. Here, Esclabor, s-stand still. I can't heal you if you're swaying like that... Or is that simply my vision? Curses..." You are unlikely to have heard the news, but Deira has ordered the invasion of Wyke. Do not worry, I am not here to capture or fight you... despite the fact my incoming forces would outnumber your group. I am simply here to retrieve the fabled spear, Rhongomiant, from the foreign flier." she informed, glancing over at Marcus and Scarlet. "However, one of your men has the weapon of my brother... and has claimed to have slain him." she added, gripping her spear tightly. "I cannot let my brother's honour be disgraced by such treachery. I must carry out divine justice and bring peace to my brother's spirit." Emily was still perplexed by the quartet of wyverns, but even she could have spotted the squadron flying across the horizon towards them. "Hey, Baron Bearney? I think they might be friends with the guy who's head you cut off. I don't think they'd be happy to hear that." Emily warned, being far more quiet than anyone could recall of her. "The big lady looks really mad." In the meantime, Esclabor had ensured that Hippnos was not going anywhere, having forced the man to drop his tome and binding him at the wrists. "I'm sure you could have taken him, Lady Montanna... but I'm sure you'd prefer to avoid having your boots frozen for a second time." Esclabor remarked, urging the captured mage forwards towards Cass. All non-reliant NPC's are eligible however the maximum level gap between units is five. Sebastian is not counted and cannot be assigned XP. Another 700 XP and 70 WEXP is also available for the Reliants with the same rules for NPC's. Hans and Lars share XP, so any XP assigned to one is added to the other. Cass collapsed as soon as she'd finished with Esclabor's wounds, staring down at the damage. Hopefully nothing would scar. "E-Emmet! Where are you?" It was a bit selfish, but getting their other healer patched up first would make fixing the group go a lot smoother. "Gods, how does Claire shrug this stuff off? I thought I'd be able to handle magic after that Razorwind before, but this is a lovely new sensation... Ugh, wow!" Cass was beginning to become more impressed with how painful this was, rather than upset. Maybe I should get Claire to teach me something of this. This power is ludicrous. Glancing around the battlefield while she waited for-- There he is. Thank Engel he's close by, Cass caught the wyvern rider approaching Owen, but her weapon was not raised, so things must have been cordial, for the moment. "I'm going to have to get Angus to spill what happened with this group of 'reliants'. This is too much to not know about." Cass had mustered enough energy to stand again, bringing her limp self towards Emmet. "Hey... Got quite a mess for you to patch up," she managed, falling back down onto her knees near their healer. "Tried to do too much, haha... Not the best example to set, when you're wanting people to not push themselves too far." He didn't quite know the situation but he sensed that there was a high possibility of more fighting to come. As he tried to eavesdrop he was distracted by the princess collapsing beside him. He had been focusing too much to hear her approach. "Ah, princess" he muttered. "You're hurt." Reluctantly he eased the tension on his bow and swapped it for his staff. He leaned down beside her. "You've got to be more careful," If something happened to the Vial...Emmet suddenly realised how vulnerable Cass was. Slowly he reached into her exposed pocket, not to take the vial from her, merely to confirm that it was there. He found the pocket empty however. Has she stored it somewhere? I need to find out where. She's probably not as suited to this job as I previously thought. Her casual disregard for safety could be lethal. "I can heal you, but this will leave some scarring" he said, hopefully distracting her from his search. Though in the state that she was in, he was reasonably sure she wouldn't notice anyway. As much as I appreciate your worry for me, Emmet, you're not going to find the vial there." Her pockets were connected to her dress, any rummaging shifted the entire ensemble. "It's still safe. And I'm not telling you where. So, either heal me and let me get to helping the group, or attempt to blackmail me for the location, so I can deny you and continue on to heal people whilst suffering." Or they could simply take it as a sign to store me away again, as I can't keep myself safe in a fight~ Well, I suppose coming back alive with a scar or two says something... Alright. Let's hope Adele doesn't give me grief for it." She stood herself up, bracing against Emmet for a moment, and then letting him go. "Thank you. I'll have to ask you for advice on healing staves, at some point. You're quite a step better at this than I am." She inspected her scar for a few moment, before nodding. "Now... Let's see what this business with these Reliants is..." Cass kept quiet, and headed over to Owen, giving the woman a once over. Intimidating. Could we take her if it came down to it? The day that the Reliants were attacked and massacred? Were they're really survivors other than Niko and Doug?" His heart was pounding. Despite everything she had said before, he was expecting to be stabbed immediately, or worse. He could have stayed silent, but he needed to get it out, otherwise he would burst. He was truthful at heart, to a fault, and he wondered how long he could keep the secret of the vial, should he remain alive and with this group. "Please...I have to know. Niko gave me this...this confounded seal thinking I would lead on the remaining legacy, but now I don't know if that was false or not." He clutched the insignia tightly. Laudine had landed and was making demands, but Owen, Cass and the others were capable of handling it. There were other things for her to turn her attention towards at first. "I'll deal with him in a minute, Baron Esclabor." she told him, after watching his rather pathetic attempt to offload the prisoner. First though, there was the matter of Alain. She hadn't thought much of his wounds considering how she'd brushed off the hit like it was nothing, but she supposed that somebody ought to check on him. He seemed to already be awake, thankfully. Claire wouldn't have been able to do much on her own, regrettably, but she could at least check on him. "Are you alright, Sir Alain?" she asked, standing over him. He caught his breath, it would be unfortunate to turn blades against a Deiran so soon, but the circumstances were just as poor already. "What is Deira planning to do?" He held his head up, staring at the woman. "I wouldn't call it common to see a Deiran mercenary group around Magonsaete. If this hired mercenary's words are true, it's not just the four of you, but your brother was around these parts as well. As much as I understand your heart must be burning with fury over your brother's loss, I would like to know what brought you here to begin with." Hearing footsteps, he glanced to see who'd joined their conversation, a fraction of a section. Cass and another person --Emmet? He couldn't quite tell who from that quick a glance, probably.
