OliKad
For the nth time, WHY IS NINTENDO NOT RELEASING THESE GAMES ON THE AMERICAN VIRTUAL CONSOLE?

NoNameAtAll
Translating and localizing take effort. Nintendo doesn't like taking effort for old games. And before anyone says "B-b-but Earthbound Beginnings", may I remind you all that it was already fully translated back during the NES days, but remained unreleased because of timing. It was already an existing ROM. Hell, it was on the internet long before Nintendo decided to put it on the Wii U VC. Also, it was used as the basis for Mother 1 in the Mother 1+2 game boy advance cartridge. Edited November 28, 2016 by NoNameAtAll

Tolvir
REALLY hoping they release this in the US. Unfortunately, knowing Japan it likely won't happen. It took them so long to even announce a release dat in the US for Fates, and even worst form Europe. It's like Japan doesn't want to release its games anywhere else. shadowofchaos
It's like Japan doesn't want to release its games anywhere else. Remember, what incentive do they have to do so? How many sales can they get from a particularly hard FE title to introduce to the English speaking countries. The point of VC is to have easy access to old titles gamers have nostalgia of. Tfw no localization... (What gives, Nintendo?) The answer is time and money - as I see it, IntSys doesn't think it'd be very profitable. Eh, true, but I still think Japan has an issue of not localizing games needlessly. But you have a point with this case.

I almost agreed with you...except they just released the Mysterious Murasame Castle, another hard game by Nintendo. Jedi
I almost agreed with you...except they just released the Mysterious Murasame Castle, another hard game by Nintendo. In that games case, they'd pushed it with Nintendo Land and previously the Wii version of Samurai Warriors 3 with Takamaru being a extra character with a mode that was similar to Murasame Castle. I somehow doubt that IS wants to translate FE5 however, that would take quite a bit of effort compared to a game like Murasame Castle, the cost might outweigh the gain, while Murasame doesn't need nearly as much effort and had been put back into peoples minds. Do note that Thracia wasn't even a success originally at its release either, due to being a super late Super Famicom game, with no marketing, so the fact that it even got a VC release in Japan is shocking enough Thracia's notorious difficulty on a first time player, despite not being on the same level as some of the other FE's would also scare people away, just due to word of mouth. Some people still call it "The hardest FE game" despite it not being. Edited December 7, 2016 by Jedi

Aside from everything Jedi said, there's the part where The Mysterious Murasame Castle wasn't a text-heavy game.
