Let Me Tell You All a Story About Ecstasy

Recommended Posts

This didn't happen to me. I heard about it from a guy who had it happen to a girl he knew.

So you're gonna go take some ecstasy, right? Now I'm not a drug person, but drug people gotta be concerned about their water intake. If you don't have enough water, you get a little more banged up than usual. Naturally, right? Water is good. So you get told to make sure you drink enough water. In your mind, you're thinking that you can't forget to drink water.

Later you start feeling off, naturally, because you're doing ecstasy and God only knows in what conditions. So you figure you gotta drink more water. You continue to feel off, and because you are on drugs and cannot think, you decided to drink more water. Eventually you start to get over-hydrated, which is an actual thing that can happen.

You get sick from over-hydration, but because you've been told that you'll feel like garbage if you don't have enough water, you keep chugging more water. It becomes a positive feedback loop, a self-sustaining cycle were you are convinced you need more water even though its actually making the situation worse. The failure of water to work becomes evidence that more water is needed. Sometimes people die from this.

This story is actually about politics, by the way, but make sure to drink a proper amount of water anyway. Stay hydrated, kings.

This was honestly an extremely well crafted short story. Great suspense from start to finish while delivering a message more people really need to know about. Also very informative.

Fantastic work as usual.
