It feels like I've played through a lot, but I only just finished the Underground Palace. Well, can't complain, really. Will continue tomorrow.

I suppose the silver lining is that the game may have extra stuff (a previous trailer showed a new NPC in the Glitzville exterior area that wasn't there in the original), and that may still be kept secret. I suppose it's little hope to see them re-adding some scrapped stuff like the Sirens fights planned for Chapter 4. Or Beldam being the one who summoned/created the Smorgs to begin with. Or Prince Mush as a bonus boss as many hoped he could've been? Oh yes, Vivian was certainly top tier, and yeah, quite a novelty too. The first Paper Mario used all pre-existing species for partners, but then TTYD thought to experiment a little. Too bad they scrapped partners for the most part after this.

I got reminded that trailer didn't showed her when they presented the partners. It skipped from Yoshi to Bobbery. It could be they are keeping her Heel-Face Turn secret (the trailer does seem aimed to newcomers over veterans), but it's funny to think they don't want to open that can of worms yet. XD

I can only guess that it comes down to the same argument when it comes to Copyright: It must be protected, lest you lose it. Best (stretching definition of best) case scenario, this was done as a precaution measure. Worst case scenario, something behind the scenes must have gone off regarding the validity of their Copyright claims and they scrambled into damage control mode.

Okay, on a serious note. At the end of the day, they're still copyrighted. Any unauthorized use is a breach of the law. That said... Yes, it's quite questionable why they decided to act on this now all of a sudden.

I fear for my fanfiction now...

I'd say, outside the whole waiting for the charging bar to get the full power of the attack, it's such a fun ride so far. I ended up going to Gaia's Navel before Pandora, but it seems it wasn't too much of a hassle. Outside not recruiting Primm earlier, I guess. Made it to the dungeon area of the witch's castle. Will continue tomorrow.

Time to resume Secret of Mana.

Yeah, it's quite a bummer. Even just knowing what were the original plans would be nice, but even that can become lost forever. Either through being forgotten, or jut plain never revealed on purpose. With SoM we know at least some of the axed elements would be used for Chrono Trigger. Though I can't recall if it was revealed which exactly.
