  1. From a Birthright only perspective: 1. Voice acting is great. Even the characters I think didn't have the greatest voice acting grew on me and became more or less funny as opposed to cringe worthy. 2. The characters are varied and it's fun to read the supports. 3. The story, while maybe a bit boring from chapter 14 onwards, was still an emotional ride that I can give credit to. It was doing something right if I borrowed my friend's copy of Conquest for a bit and felt like a total **** by the end of chapter 6. 4. 2D live models are excellently crafted and I hope Nintendo uses the tech in future titles. (where applicable of course) 5. DA SOUNDTRACK. 6. Difficulty curve that really doesn't punish you until the final boss. 7. Battle animations that reflect the immediate environment are welcome. 8. Redone weapon system that doesn't punish me for using my favorite weapons (like paper). 9. Avatar characters! (not better than Awakening, but still!)
  2. Am I the only one who saw the song on ITunes before she put it on Youtube? No? Just me? Well it was and you should totally go buy it if you haven't already btw. :)
  3. His location says Eden Prairie. That's in Minnesota. Snow in spring-ish months is common there.
  4. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pNOl4CmcQx5xZeIoz_vrkz4PO3uXW1ez_vMevMHMrKY/edit?usp=sharing WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?! ...is what I'm sure most of you were thinking when you clicked on the topic. The following is an excerpt from F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, rewritten from the perspective of the character Daisy. I had written this for a project and it got some good marks, so I figured I'd stick it here for someone to possibly enjoy. Give it a read and make sure to tell me that it sucks and I shouldn't have put it on a video games forum what you think of it below! All questions are welcome. Also, I read the book from a older copy so the page numbers I put there might not match yours.
  5. This site is way better than a youtube comments section. The toxicity in fire-emblem related videos is in fact what pushed me to find a better place to discuss FE topics. And hence, Serenes Forest Forums.
  6. Absolutely! It might get a bit tricky to join since you can only have 50 members I think, but it would be fun to play with our fellow Fire Emblem fans. Now all we need is someone with the time to manage it and for riot to raise the member cap.
  7. I like Setsuna more, so I'd recommend her. She just so quirky and memorable, and she's overall really entertaining. "Yay... wait that was barely a change." "Ohhhh... are we fighting?" "I'm bored now!"
  8. I would take some of the listings on BTV with a grain of salt since they're not finished, but whatever. And if Laura played Elise, that would explain some of my feels towards that character. I'm such a big fan of Bailey's works.
  9. I personally feel that hoshido noble is better. I love tomes to death, but since swords and magic fall under the same piece of the weapon triangle, gaining tomes wouldn't add much to your utility other than ranged attacks. Healing is a great skill to have anyways. But what do I know? I reclassed to the hoshidan sage thingy! :P
  10. This is downright awesome. At this rate no one will talk down to us when there are 8 FE characters in smash 5. :P
  11. 1. Bring back the magic triangle from the GBA series, because while admittedly the magic types aren't too different from each other, it's fun to pick your favorite and making mages more relevant is always a good thing. (I'm kinda of a fan of magic classes if you can't tell) 2. Add more RNG back into the dual strikes. I know that sounds stupid, but through my play through of Birthright, I felt guaranteeing an additional strike made the game way too easy at times. Besides, RNG might be frustrating at times but it also makes the game more exciting. 3. Keep the Fates class system. It's downright awesome. [spoiler=Fates spoiler]4. Make the character ending reel like it was in past iterations. I get what they were going for with basing the character order on battle activity, but it's super awkward when the main character isn't the last to go, and this style doesn't do healers justice at all.
  12. FYI I've only beaten Birthright. Good Characters- The cast isn't perfect, (looking at you, Awakening rip-offs) but its certainly filled with memorable characters that are worth caring about. It also helps that support conversations are easier to get than ever before. Music- No elaboration required. Core Gameplay- Very solid. Hidden weapons adds a lot to the strategy, and the maps are well designed. Some are a bit boring, but still well designed. Revamped Class System- Immediate Heart Seal use. So good! Graphics- The in-game graphics don't really try that hard to be different from awakening, but that's not a bad thing. And goodness those CG cutscenes! Bad Story- Heartfelt, but overall lacking. One of the things that made the other stories in the series great was the fact you went to a variety of places with a lot of different goals, even if you didn't play the paralouges. Fates, unfortunately, felt like one long string of events that led up to one exact goal. There are good events, but overall not many of them feel like they're important. Fanservice- It's straight up sad. I still like the character designs, but if this keeps up we gonna have way to much sexualization, and future games won't be all that comfortable to play at times. Castle Invasions- The enemies are way too many in number, and your defenders are way too spaced apart for it to be fair. --- Overall, I think this game is a good entry in the series, and worth it's price tag. Picking which side of the conflict you want to fight for is a novel idea that adds to the experience, and the gameplay is still a lot of fun. Take my complaints with a grain of salt, because they're not huge in the long run.
  13. I like your idea, and what a great way to start this chain of threads. Kagero is definitely a great unit. She's not as good at dodging as the other ninja in my opinion, but she's way better and killing dudes in one fight, due to her high strength and tendency to double attack. She's also pretty good personality wise too. Granted her personality is nothing special, but it's certainly likable, or I wouldn't have married her. On that note, the animation that plays when you hit S-rank is also really sweet and captures the idea of marrying a loyal ninja girl well. It's just a shame most people are going to remember her for that chest, because that's not what's important. :(
  14. Castle Code: 18214-85152-45207-68846 Affinity: Hoshido Avatar: Colin Region: North America Food: Rice Mineral: Quartz Fight difficulty: Not designed with defense in mind right now, so Easy.
  15. Thanks for clarifying that. And by the way I bet the reason Atlus does not put dual audio in their games is because of disk space. The specialize in really long games, and having to cram in every recorded line of dialogue twice basically is probably to them is a big waste of data they could be using on expanding the core game experience. But, that's just my guess. If ya think it's something else, you can think that.
  16. Hold on, you're saying Atlus released a game with a dub, but no english text? By the way I don't care that you don't care.
  17. Somebody needs to get me some fries, because THE SALT IS REAL. ... im kinda beat up over no dubs.
  18. I wish Master Seals were easier to obtain. Yeah, I know it was a little crazy how simple it was in awakening, but at least you could reclass exactly when you wanted, and I liked keeping every unit relevant. But it's not like it's bothering me now because I just experienced my worst nightmare. (that's deleting your save accidentally)
  19. I got Hoshido. I spent my money right! :P By the way, anyone else think that casuals would be confused by Katana or Sword?
  20. I'm glad we managed to perk her up. She sang Lost In Thoughts All Alone really well, and I'd gladly be listening to the no doubt well executed voice clips right now... if my disease know as living in the middle of nowhere didn't keep me from acquiring a copy day one. :P Happy Launch Day everybody, and good luck in future projects Rena!
  21. Congratulations to all of the top finishers! Y'all did an awesome job and I'm happy to see a lot of my favorites among the high ranking entries. Not to mention seeing so many wonderful comments down here makes me fell like I'm in the friendliest and best FE community ever. (even if it's the only one I've ever been in :P)
  22. Seeing as marrying any of your sisters is not an option for me, I've decided to marry Kagerou (or whatever she's called in the english version) because she seems like an interesting character and I also like her hair the best. Not sure about conquest yet because I'm gonna be focusing on Birthright for my first run and stuff.
  23. Many a chapter kicked my butt on the way to the credits, but if there's one chapter that was the most frustrating of all, it's chapter 19. Just. Too. Many. Riders.
  24. I finished Fire Emblem Awakening at long last! Huzzah! Definitely my favorite game in the series.
