Use swords. Because we're out. OH COME ON Rath crits back with a vengeance. Please, one more luck point... The shop I guess has a bit better selection, but this STILL doesn't feel like the right place to restock. Fortifys are nice, but we have tons already, seriously. Finally...just about done... Since both bishops have a speedwing, we do this twice. The fog is creeping up on us. But I think we'll be okay. I start healgrinding Vaida... So, the plan is, Rath weakens these bishops... Glitch finishes... Gains a bad level... And then we rescue them! Repeat. What a bad way to end things. I tried to give Glitch as much attention as I could...hopefully I won't regret it... ...The cocktail party is over. I love using the poison lance. It's just that sweet feeling of revenge... Ultimately, I have Priscilla kill Lloyd, because she doesn't get much love anymore. And maybe for good reason...of course, she's capped lots of things. Oh what? Dangit, that's what I get for not paying attention to the objective...I thought I'd get to wait around until I seized! Well, that's lots of potential support grinding lost. Hey everybody, meet SANTA! Mrs. Claus? So Mrs. Claus is Brendan. Okay. Hey, a mug that hasn't already been showcased by some other Lper! Yes Hector. We know. How did these two get married exactly SCRUBS? We are neither scrubby nor frail! Seriously, we've gained so many levels...SO MANY... AND THEN THE NUKE LANDED That's "her", Eliwood. AND THEN ITS BAD GUY TIME I haven't showed this mug yet, I don't think...but yeah, Nergrinch is now Grinch-colored! Ninian's mug makes this scene... We didn't exactly see it before! Which...we already have? This cutscene is really weird. It plays once, then plays again, with the text slightly different. And then it skips the forced promotion. I'm glad it didn't make the game freeze, I guess. It's kinda hard to code out all the rigged FE7 stuff. Next time: Few People Owning Slightly More People Such a long-but fun-chapter. I haven't finished playing the hack, so she MIGHT make a triumphant return, but I doubt it. Hello everyone, and welcome back to... The CHAPTER 30 PRELUDE! Oh hey, I didn't know we actually visited these in FE7. This was another chapter I never played in the normal game. With our new promotion powers we'll be fine! Oh wait... Weren't there poison-jet thingies in the original chapter? I didn't see any around when I played it... Stupid Athos. He gives the worst advice. So, let's see what we have to work with. But first... I scour the whole prep list, and there isn't so much as a trace of Glitch. I guess being uncounted by the game, despite being an interesting topic for discussion, also means she was deleted at the end of the chapter. So, here's everybody's inventory(SEE IF YOU CAN SPOT WHAT I DID WRONG) And yeah, I forgot to screenshot it, but the team is Leila, Rath, and Wil. The original game only let you bring one extra unit with you, but the chapter would be nigh-impossible if that was the case here. Here's our setup. Yeah, I noticed the map lined up a bit. There are lots more enemies around, but no reinforcements are coming, and there aren't THAT many. Klok at least understands that less unit mean that the chapter should be toned down a bit. Kaim is pretty tough, but not to the point of being insane. We do want that Basilikos. Klok basically force-feeds you lots of good droppables(note: Those chest keys will soon become chest items). And remember, Merlinus isn't coming...there's basically no way you're getting through this without sacrificing something. Just in case you think it's worth it to bring Canas(hint: It's not). Here have another MONIKER DRAFT FAILURE: Rath starts by ripping the Durandal guy's face off. And this is where I begin comprehending what I have done. This is just about endgame, so we really don't need to worry about legendary usage anymore. Or at least, we can worry about it less. End of the first turn. Hector has a secret meeting/wrestling match with this Sol Katti mook. Look how close their heads are. He may be cheating on Lyn. Some of these guys have siege weapons, not that it really matters. The nomad INITIATED this attack. SUCH A SMART AI And then this stuff goes down. It's a huge problem, because either A: I sacrifice two iron runes and get the treasure chests, B: Sacrifice two treasure chests to get the iron runes, or C: Restart the chapter. Yeah. Okay, again, with a slightly modified unit setup and different dudes... So, I was kinda expecting to have to announce a slowdown on updates due to Elibian Nights, but the final patch has not yet come out(for perfectly good reasons), so we're gonna continue at normal speed. Here are the growths: VAIDA'S GROWTHS: HP: 60% Magic: 55%(+10%) Skill: 45%(+20%) Speed: 50%(+10%) Defense: 25% Resistance: 45%(+30%) Not STELLAR growths, but they are pretty good for a prepromote! She's the last chance for the Bishop T3, so we have to use her. With her high bases, she'll turn out well even if you don't T3 her, in all likeliness. Hello everyone, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 26: Chapter 30: Berserk is Awesome This time, Hector kills Ms Katti from a safe range. Rath kills Durandal guy... Come on, Serra... Not helping! Enemies move closer. None of the sages are T3s, don't worry. No more of those will show up, for oh...2 chapters. Don't worry, I can just kill him and get it back! Sorry, I just got tired of this guy. Elixir's buying price is higher than red gem's selling price, but regardless I'd rather have weapons then healing items. Defense! And speed! Here's to hoping I can get enough speedwings for her to forcecap it. Now we have to handle Hector lord(who doesn't move) and this nomad guy. Yeah okay. Everything but Luck and RES capped. I can totally drop him a few goddess icons/talismans, considering how much he's been contributing to the team. He's so good, he can(sorta) compete with legend users! Not really important loot, considering next chapter...well, you'll see. I'll see if I can't pick it up regardless. OH NOOOO So yeah, Serra's going on a rampage now...I regret not bringing restore staves, but...maybe she can live? Down! Still a good unit. Body Rings aren't infinite. I still need them. More than I need some random dark tome. Berserk! Serra is going to head down this way. The rest of my units are on the upper path, for their own safety. Here's to hoping she'll live! OH THE PAIN Serra was actually smart enough to equip the Mani Katti and not blow Sol Katti uses. The thief...actually attacked? Uhhhh? Gimme that! For a minute I was worried, but berserked units CAN receive items! I think they can even access the convoy to choose which items to discard/store if their inventory fills! This lady has Gespenst. She has 75 attack. Serra has good RES, but she'll still drop in 1 hit. So please, please keep up the dodge streak, lady! Man, she's just eliminating everything over there! Meanwhile, unremarkable stuff happens up top! Good... Speed. Speed is good. Good Hector. Serra chooses to whip out her Sol Katti, and subsequently wrecks this lady. I'm shocked at how not-idiotic the AI was when controlling Serra, seriously. A perfect level, pretty much. Well, not really, she's only capped 2 stats. Hey, she survived a full berserk state! Congrats, Serra! More things happen. Serra opens the chest down here to find...ANOTHER Sol Katti? This is kind of odd since we don't get any of the other two super lord weapons, but hey, I'll take it. This Katti is one of the reasons why Serra is OP Wait...the enemies don't do anything on their phase? Man...it feels like FOREVER since I got to use a bait-and-switch tactic...but I guess that's sort of a testament to good game design... Alright, we can just take this good and slow. The 2 guards are easily killed offscreen, and we get another uberspear for our trouble! Nice! People get lured out. Hector gains a meh level. Now, let's test to see if the boss moves! YES. YES HE DOES. YES. YES YOU ARE. Hero hand axe animations are still borked, so Kaim's palette won't be seen today, unfortunately. If he even has one. These are PRETTY GOOD combat stats... But I'd much rather kill him with Hector, for story purposes if nothing else. Done! And Hector doesn't even get a full level from it, even if he does gain a good weapon. I murder this lady too, because I don't want anyone left alive. Uh oh, Hector's gonna need two skill levels if he's gonna cap it...come on Hector! You can do it! I also grind up Leila for the heck of it. While these levels SEEM terrible, keep in mind that, unlike Eliwood... SHE capped most of her stats! Thank you, stimulant! Let's leave. It's not a throne! It's just an ordinary floor tile! Hey, you mind joining us? We could really use some help with that dragon. With those stats and the Reinfleche? I doubt it. And then we just skip to Eliwood succeeding. Wonder how Klok would have done his "trial". Eliwood is a mage! Although, I doubt Lucius could have succeeded in any trial at level 3... Eliwood is now a mage knight. You know, that ice dragon sprite is really cool, wish it would have been used more. THIS WASN'T PART OF THE DEAL And then Eliwood does his glitchy black-out thing. WHY DOES EVERYBODY KEEP CALLING US SCRUBS I don't know, she looks fine to me... Oh hey, Santa's name is used properly here too! This is it! Mr. Old Wise guy is finally gonna get off his butt and do something! GO SANTA! Oh man, he's really gonna do it! He's gonna kill Nergrinch! Wah-the attack barely dented his HP bar? I CALL HAX HE SHOULD HAVE ONE-SHOTTED YOU Actually, as we'll see, they totally can stop him! The next chapter was another favorite chapter of mine. Let's hope it's just as good here! NEXT TIME: Moniker dies a lot Yeah, just 1 part this time. Been a while since a chapter's been this simple...and it will never be this simple again.
