Garlyle
Sir, you just corrupted the space time continuum of the non-canon route. It's like all going to be a bad nightmare for Roy which he wakes up from in the Ilia route. Or the void from the Game Over screen will consume Elibe here, and balance of the Fire Emblem universe will collapse. Or a potato. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Marcus scores a kill for Pherae! Saint Rubenio
...and that is what happened. What should we do, General? First off, don't say a word about this to anyone. Sid, Lance, Lord Pent and Lady Louise... I'm sure even Marcus would have trouble believing this. Even I am having trouble... We must be sure before we act. ...then what is the plan? I want you to keep an eye on him at all times. Keep me informed of all his movements, and if you find substantial proof of his betrayal... I may capture him? Yes. Alive, if possible. You and I both know you could beat him in a fight with your hands and feet tied together, so try not to kill him unless absolutely necessary. Well, then. By your leave, General, I shall get to it at once. Hey! Hey! Lady Margaret! Oh... hello, Sid. Have you found anything? Do you know what is it that-- No, I... I'm sorry. ...really? You don't seem very sure of yourself... What...? What are you trying to say...? Are you implying that I'm lying!? ...yes. Yes, I am. ...well... I am not! Now, leave my sight! ...why won't anybody tell me anything!? Am I not trustworthy enough? I may be a Bernian, but... I do not deserve this sort of treatment! Whoa, what's with the screaming? What is wrong, Sid? My friend won't tell me what troubles him, so I asked someone to keep an eye on him. Then she refuses to tell me what it is, despite the fact that she's obviously figured it out! I don't believe it! It's as if they don't trust me enough to let me know anything... I doubt that's it. Although, sending someone to spy on him probably wasn't the brightest idea, either. If he wants to be alone, you should let him... He's been "wanting to be alone" for days. He barely speaks to anybody. He isn't well, and you know that as well as I do! That much is true. I... is it so bad to be worried? Am I wrong? No, I don't believe so. Look, I'll tell you what we'll do: we're going to go see Ruben. I'll go with you, he worries me also. Me as well, if you don't mind. We owe him that much for saving our lives back in the day. Yes, and we all know that I didn't do much to repay him... ...thank you, both of you. I truly appreciate it. Don't worry about it. So, shall we go now? No, not yet. He won't want to see us anyways. We must catch him outside, so he won't be able to escape us. Dear me, you sound like a brigand planning out a rich merchant's capture. Heh, I suppose I do... but all I said is true, sadly. Yes, of course. Very well, then, we'll wait around his tent until he comes out. Does that sound like a good plan? I believe so. Good. Let's go, then. How long could it possibly take? Part 39 - Strength of a veteran. I mean, the game handed me a portrait so bland and generic that he could pass for a "generic nomad" mug, it'd be a waste not to use it for that. Nooooooo. Will you stop killing old men? Dammit Rubenio. Heheheheh... you fell right into my trap! IN AMERIC-- SACAE! And of course it was typed right before I found the current one I'm using. I had to, I got Nanna in Heroes and it's odd seeing a staff unit not named Elise actually fight. :P I can barely see your new picture! What is she firing, a crossbow? Well, it could be he's an unwitting/unwilling leech. That or I BLAME HIM- Nah, even I can't do that when it comes to Sacae. You blame Dougy for the absolute cataclysm that was the last update? That... is quite the accusation. Even one Angelic Robe can help her. I don't have one, and won't get one until the end of the Ilian chapter 20. Another reason to go to Ilia, as if we needed any more, with the lower death count, the one dead unit being throughoutly irrelevant, Niime joining one chapter earlier, it making sense for her to be there, energy ring, not being horrendously unfair, better stats for most of the army, another cool throwaway boss... Really? Very much so. Wrys can actually use ploys in Heroes, so Maria's still worse than him there. In NMotE she's the worst of the endgame clerics. SD.... Just look at her. There's also the fact that Wrys is epic. I managed to turn him into a meme in my group of friends that know next to nothing about Fire Emblem, that's how epic he is. Well that's also possible. Very much is. And even if it wasn't, it'd make more sense than Martel being made into a commander. Well it fits at least. Indeed. I on the other hand find the use of Mamluke awkward considering what they were and where they came from. Eh, their background does fit Sacae, and their outfits were quite similar to-- Just does not gel with me. ...five points. I'm pretty sure I was trying to push to get the Eclipse tome when it was utterly worthless. At least, I was thinking that when I was typing. Yeah, that you were, but hey! It does have its uses. Like, for instance: Hard Mode. It's a hell of a drug. Don't remind me... Oh look you got a crit frame. It seems like that's all Sacae's good for. And, rest assured, it's one hell of a crappy thing to have going for one. When did Cecilia learn light magic and when did Hugh find a Fimblvetr? I wish I knew, I could use both of those. Well shit, another one bites the dust. Last update in a nutshel. Do Elixirs weigh them down? Or maybe he just got drunk on 'em. He had an inventory full of Elixirs that were meant to be given to Monke, but he took a sip, and one thing led to the other and suddenly he only had one and couldn't see straight. Together in death's not a great sentiment. It's not, which is why that route does not exist. ANOTHER MEDAL! He's going to be able to get an armor made out of medals at this rate! I think you might be wrong there. It's closer to 15%. Yeah. ...hrgh... bwagh! Lot, just turn around again and stick the axe in him. Slap it in if you have to! Well, he did. In a way. But he's not her- why do I bother? You know I'm going to keep calling him her brother until the end of days, just as I do with Minerva. Hah! Well fuck, Lycia will be in chaos after this, with the queen dead and all. Except for the fact that that didn't really happen. You know I had to. Yes, I was setting it up for someone to do that. Well, cheaters never prosper. No, they don't. You know who else never prospers? People who go to Sacae in FE6. I had nothing to lose, I'm sorry. And so Lo Dio arose to destroy Elibe. Good times, good times. That could be the LP lore for the Sacae army's fate. They were destroyed by Lot. Or it would be, if I didn't choose to just pretend it never happened at all. Ultimate Dishonour! Dishonorable reset counter: OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND I can't really call you out. I might not have hacked stats, but I am not all that clean myself with this game. Why do you think I decided to do the axes playthrough in the first place? I've had my share of cheaty experiences, but never to this extent, and I have beaten the game legitimately. Heck, this time too, because while I've cheated in Sacae, I'll be continuing on the Ilia file, which is still clean as slate. Is that going to be a plot device? It could be... Well isn't that nice of you Albertus? Hey, he may be an idiot, but he's a good idiot. Okay, something strange is up. Could it be that the demon is involved? I doubt it, but still. Who knows... And with that Sacae is the dirty route. Next time we'll get to see if Niime dies. Heheheh... perhaps... Last one's the spanish version of "blistering barnacles!" (sort of). A tad more obscure than the others, so I forgive you for not figuring that one out. Spoiler Jeez, don't mention him again! What need is there for that? Just forget about his existance like you've done with everybody else not named Roy, Merlinus, Guinivere or Delphin, game! I sincerely hope it doesn't turn out to be as effective as the Russian Winter. Otherwise, I'll be really, really angry. Sigune (or Signature, from the creators of De Beers) had potential to be an actual villain, but she was held back by FE6's bad habits. You'll see. But first, trading shenanigans. I want Niime to get a nosferatu and a heal right off the bat, so Astolfo'll be holding the goods. Silly characters, joining after the preparations are over... Niime has been with us since the end of chapter 18! Let me give her the things already! Okay, so-- ... ...so, today's team. Pretty standard stuff. Before we go in, let's address the Lot situation. Go back and check if you want: Sacae!Lot's shenanigans have not affected Canon!Lot in the slightest. Don't worry: this file is a 100% clean. Moving out. That's a decent chapter title. So it does, Sigune. I can't blame Dayni for initially believing I based Margaret on Sigune: while they aren't exactly lookalikes, there definitely are some similarities between the two. I believe Juno had some history with this gal. I can't remember the details, but I'm pretty sure it's explained in Tate's support with Juno, so, hey! We might get to see it. It's not like Tate has anybody else to support with. Yeah, Sigune, please be reasonable. You could make a very solid waifu, if only you'd join us! She does make a solid point. She hasn't a real way to know we wouldn't take over like Bern. Our word wouldn't be quite enough. As not-Martel as this woman is, I'm afraid the conflict truly is unavoidable, for once. This, however, you got completely wrong. We got Lot, Sigune. Who do they have? ...oh, right. Murdock. Yes, sadly enough, we must. They will be no threat to anybody but Niime. This is pretty much true, more so because I benched our Thief for Dougy, in a masterpiece of a tactical move that I'm sure all of you (especially Dayni) enjoyed very much. Honestly, the way I made the preparations for this map screwed me over. Not much so, but it did. I should be more careful in the future... Cool line. 10 points for you, Sigune. The reason Niime didn't join us in the prepscreen was so that she could remain relevant to the plot for one more scene in order to talk to Roy. Yes, indeed. I agree entirely with what you just said, Roy. March on, every-- ...okay, then. Let's just hope the ballisticians politely wait for us to finish our conversation. In "h"? Ah, I see. Boy, I'm such a great comedian. Pffhfwhahaahah. I'd ask what, exactly, is the reason you have not to tell her about Arcadia, but that would mean wasting more time, so... right on, Boi. Yes, he has, but you'll tell him anyways. Or he will tell you. Whatever it takes for the audience to learn about it. On a side note, that must've been interesting to experience. It was amazing, yes. Why are we talking about this now, again? There is one person, but he's not relevant to the plot yet. Yes, that's what you said earlier. Get moving, damnit! Yes, it does, which is why we must attack in order to move to Bern sooner! Pretty please? ...huh. Thank you. This map is a bit like Sacae!18. You know, while we're on the subject, let me confess something: I do not know whether Sacae is the A route or the B route. I always see the wikis, serenes, people... naming these chapters as A or B. I can understand that with the Western Isles, but here? What's so wrong with chapter 19S and chapter 19I? Anyway, 19I. We got literally a thousand (5) ballistae ready to kill Niime, Pegasus Knights flying about, a bunch of status staves and two villages to save, although these are very easy to save if you don't turtle too hard. The Fog of War is incredibly annoying, but so long as you're careful with your squishies, you'll be fine. Speaking of squishies... Here is Fraiil, the Mountain Wet Toilet Paper. She's pretty good. Her offensive stats are good: 21 magic allows for huge staff range and great damage, meaning she can make the most out of her double A ranks, her skill's good, her speed isn't that bad and her luck is good. Her lack of growths means nothing, since she's set for life in most areas. She has but one flaw: 25 HP, 5 defense. Let's look back at... Wolt, the frailest unit we got back in chapter 1. One point of defense and an angelic robe worth of HP less than Niime, in chapter one, at level one. And may I remind you that Wolt's durability is considered to be crap? Again, in chapter 1? Then we throw in base Marcus and it ceases to be a contest. As before, chapter 1, and this is supposed to be a unit who doesn't last past the mid-game at best. All this means that Niime will die to pretty much everything meaningful until you get her an angelic robe or three. And I don't have any. Raigh refuses to hand over his, he's grown quite fond of it. My only hope is that she survives this chapter and the next, when I'll hopefully get another robe that'll go straight to her. Then, with any luck, she'll survive the rest of the game and will be able to Apocalypse dragons to death. Also, first fail of the day: she already has a flux and heal staff, so leaving Igrene with two bows wasn't worthwhile in the slightest. Urk... First things first, this is what I was saving the speedwings and the body ring for. By default, she has the con of an unpromoted Raigh: this means she loses 1 AS from flux and 2 AS from nosferatu. Suddenly, that 16 speed looks far less decent. However, if I give her the body ring and the speedwings, she'll retain a very good 18 speed at pretty much all times when it'll matter. Now, it's time for some village visiting. Or, well, single houses that morph into two houses and a few trees. They mostly try to hype up Sigune and the ballistae. Cool nickname, that one. Sue wishes she was half as cool as that. I like this useless house. This flavour text has a lot personality to it. Shame about those oh-so-frightening Pegasus Knights being weighed down by their steel lances, rendering them unable to do meaningful damage because of their low strength or to survive by virtue of their horribly tanked speed. Still, good effort. I like your prose, girl. Ever thought of becoming a writer? Well, you should. Tate will be heading east to take out the first ballistician, just because she's got the Delphin shield, therefore... ...she can do this. Ilia.png Oh, doggone it... Up! You've a ring to try on! Much, much better. Nosferatanking with 18 speed: if only she didn't get one-shot... which, I guarantee you, she will be, by a very non-negligible number of enemies. Sure, everything else she'll just live through, but it's still not very reliable. Of course Igrene got hit, why wouldn't she? Worth a shot. Since we're back in Ilia, I am once again unable to take proper screenshots of Bishop critical hits. You'll have to take my word for it: this was a crit. This was, too, but in a different way: when your troops take this much damage from he who is considered one of the worst units in the game, it is critical that you change your hiring policy to "high defense is required". Hugh grabs the kill, and that's another turn gone by. Lookie there! We've uncovered a poor, little, unfortunate Archer who cannot get away because this isn't Shadow Dragon, ballisticians aren't hilarious here. One-shot, ladies and gents. Sure, it's a silver axe, but that still doesn't excuse this sort of rubbish this late into the game. Throw more promotees my way, damnit! I want pain! Not utter agony like in Sacae, but I want my opposition to actually be able to, y'know, oppose me! Like that's going to do anything. Sigh... that, on the other hand, will definitely accomplish something: to mildly annoy me. Hmmmm... now, where have we heard that name before? Get up, post-haste! You, too, don't let minor injuries get the better of you! ...that's all we do this turn. Wait, no, I'm sorry: Tate does obliterate the Archer. Honestly, at this point, I think it'd be easier if I just deployed Lot, Wade and a couple healers and let the Western Reapers solo every map from here on out. But I'm fond of my team, so that won't be happening. And hey, it's not like they're going badly at all! Except for Niime. She still hasn't had a chance to do anything other than to eat sleep charges. This is an awkward spot I'm in. Nobody can move! Also, the Paladin has a random Knight's Crest that I found by pure luck. Whatever tickles your fancy, FE6... Well, it's gone now, for Wade hits the Paladin so hard, he bursts into a million pieces (censored by a well-timed flashbang). Other than that, it's just the usual ass-kicking from our awesome ass-kickers, same ass-time, same ass-channel. Ass. With the help of drugs, Niime is able to do great things right off the bat. Let's witness her debut in the fighting scene, shall we? Ten out of ten. Magnificent show of competence, Niime! Now, please, don't get one-shot by anything. Here we have Arcadian Elder Recolor #70808234598275871340, who speaks of some prophecies that have been proven right by Tate flying to the village. Village that, much like the one in 18S, isn't really isolated. The back of your town faces the road! It's just that some dumbass decided to place the entrance heading towards the very narrow valley between the peaks! You aren't isolated, the architect's brain is! Maybe it was Martel. That's cute and all, but how does that relate to Tate flying into your village? And why did you just give her an aircalibur tome out of nowhere? Are you so proud of your little prophetic poem, that you keep a stash of aircalibur tomes to give to all that are willing to listen for dramatic effect? Man, these Ilians are weird. An-- GWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! ALREADY?! Okay, she's al-- Jesus Christ, I really hope noone else can get to her now! ...she's alive? Good, good. Jeez, that was a really close call. See, deep down, I think it's good that this happened. She didn't die, and I got the perfect pieces of proof as to why Niime's horrible durability cannot be fixed entirely with nosferatu. The good tome, while I do not deny that it is very good, cannot save you if you die before you can use it, nor can it do anything if the enemy is beyond 2 tiles of the spellcaster. What this all amounts to is that Niime can't fight worth a damn. Heck, I wasn't even having her fight in the frontlines. She was just walking. Walking! She was walking forward, and suddenly BAM almost dies. And you know the worst part? Her support with Hugh gives her only 1 point of defense. That's nothing! Sure, 3 attack, but what good is that and a bunch of crit evade when you don't even need to get hit critically to die? With these facts in mind, let's have her fight some more! And get healed by her grandson so that she can at least take a steel lance or a ballista bolt to the eye. Keep this in mind: it'll be important for nitpicking, later. Look who's there! It's the sleep asshole! Revenge is a dish best served cold, and it doesn't get much colder than Ilia in this continent. Go to sleep! Ach... alas, it is fine. Her stats are solid enough as it is. She can afford one of these. Wade... needs these stats. I'm okay with this. Sue doesn't level up, therefore that marks the end of this turn. The ladies are attacked, and retaliate appropriately, to varying degrees of success (read, two of them can't retaliate, while one of them can). Oh, no... C'mon, not again! Why do these asshats always go after Hugh? It doesn't make any sense! Hugh is neither my best healer, nor my best attacker! Saul would be a far better target, yet they never bother to do so much as try their luck against him! I think that "you're already dead" chick from the useless village earlier was actually refering to the Pegasus Knights themselves. Think about it: they're blinded by the white, oversized wings of their Pegasi, when suddenly, arrows and PHERAEAN PRIDE appear out of the swirling snow. But when that happens, it's too late... they're already dead. Yes, the good poetess must've noticed Sue is useless, and thus mistook her for a Pegasus Knight, hence the usage of second-person pronouns. "But Ruben, " ...that line is not LP canon as of now. Understand? The rest of the village is, but not that part. "But Ruben, you said you like that nickname! Will you truly erase it from canon existance?" Ergh... see, it all has a rational explanation, a-and that is... uh... ... ...why am I arguing with myself? While I still have the chance, I want to address her sprite. I really like it, one of the best in this game, and I'd say even one of the best in the GBA series overall. A very unique palette for a very unique sprite. So Niime is the one to heal (or, well, restore) her grandson this time around. Much like last time, remember this, for it will become relevant somewhere down the line. I bet you 10 imaginary cookies that this misses. Heh, of course it did. Everyone knows that 75% in FE means <40%. This should be a dance: the "ballista dodge". It's a group dance. If you falter, you die. Quite brutal, but one must take risks if they hope to ever reach Broadway. Poor Hugh must've grown accustomed to this by this point. He's been silenced by Bishops, Priests, Druids, one Pervert... all that remains is that his own mother silences him. Which might very well happen, in a certain way. Seems like Sigune has ran out of Pegasi to throw our way to be slaughtered like lambs, so we'll bring the fight to her. Dougy and the Western Reapers, you're up! What a pathetic welcoming committee. I'll be filing a complaint against the company... in blood! The reminder of that enemy phase and the entirety of our next turn can be summarized with these four screenshots. If you haven't picked up on it yet, not much is going on. Useless Pegasi attack Wade and Lot. As well as a very slightly less useless Falcoknight. She almost managed to deal double digit damage to Lot. Almost. After that, we just dance a little. Look who's here! It's the silence asshole! Revenge is a dish best served cold, and it doesn't-- Wait, didn't I say this already? In any case, worth a shot. And boom, overall death. Not bad. Look, a Paladin. He's about as pathetic as the rest. Thus falls the mighty rider squad of Sigune. It is truly a tragedy, that their might was naught but a lie. At first, I was just going to move Lot to finish off the Pegasus Knight, but then Wade uncovered the ballistician, and... Well, I succumbed to the temptation. What is he firing, a scythe made of snow? Eh, if it means he dies... That'll be a level up for Hugh. Speed? Magic. Good. He can still take a few hits, much unlike Lilina, and he's about to get a support partner to boot, so it's all right. Another level for Lot. Hype! Hype! Hype hype hype! You know what? I think I prefer this level up to the one he got in Sacae. Yes, I do mean the one where he got even more defense. See, he's pretty much set for life when it comes to durability and speed, and his support with Wade gives him the +3 attack he needs to patch up his merely-decent strength, but his hitrate could use some work, mainly due to the inaccuracy of axes and the fact that only his side of the support grants accuracy. This is the perfect level up to help alleviate what's Lot's one remaining flaw. Which isn't that big a deal, but certainly even less so now. In conclusion, as always, good work, Lot. Roy, you fool! You messed up the dance! And Dougy was doing so well... Man, Lot on a fort is even more invincible than he usually is! Any of you guys know of a game called Mount and Blade: Warband? It's pretty fun, I recommend you to check it out if you haven't yet. The reason I'm talking about it now is that I don't know what to say. There are only so many ways to say "our team steamrolls through the map". Didn't actually do this, just wanted to showcase Niime's enormous physic range. This is the reason people like Niime. Not her combat, this. And just you wait 'til we get Apocalypse, which boosts her range by five points. The camera weirdly focused on the area just below Lilina before the "enemy phase" text showed up. You know what that means, right? It's the Brigands! They're late. Really late. If you're wondering, yes, that's the only Brigand that appeared this turn. They didn't put troll Bandits next to the second village, not yet at least. And considering how close we are to it, even if they did, I'm pretty sure we'd be able to make it there in time. Tate moves forward to uncover the next ballistician, but Lot fails to kill him. This is what I was talking about earlier: without that level up, this would've been an even lower hitrate. Although, admittedly, he had to move outside Wade's supporting range to reach the Archer. For once, it really was worth a shot. Stupendous, Dougy, magnificently stupendous! If you're wondering why I am not visiting the village yet, the reason is that I don't want the energy ring to go to the convoy. I have the one who's going to take it right here, there's no sense in having to wait until the next chapter. Can you guess who it is? It's one of those bold healers who believe they can harm Best Jeigan by staring at him. Well, then: gaze upon the purple veterans as they put you to the eternal sleep! Another game I'm playing lately is Shadow Dragon, my second run of it. I'm using Dolph. He's cool. He capped defense at level 15 unpromoted, and his offensive stats are comparable to those of Gordin (which is really sad, when you think about it), meaning he doesn't get doubled that often, and he can actually double slowpokes like Mages and other Knights. It's interesting, because units are supposed to be better in FE12, yet in all my runs of that one, I never managed to train a Knight. Generals are another story, but base Knights? They always sucked. Dolph, on the other hand... maybe he's just blessed. It seems the time has come for more words to be spoken. For some reason, I doubt that. Yes, I won't see them coming in this snowstorm. Instead, I know they're coming because you told me so. As if those bumbling bimbos needed any help to be laughably inconsequential... Hah! Outclassed! ...wait a minute, I just noticed these guys are classified as "soldiers". Soldiers? Soldiers of what? Wouldn't "ruffians" or "bandits" be better for these assholes whose sole objective is to plunder villages? It's not as if they're allied with Sigune, her troops are named "Ilia" and she never speaks of employing bandits for anything. What the heck? Look at that. They've got WTA and steel weaponery, and yet, Marcus can deal just as much damage with a dinky sword. And Marcus isn't exactly the team's pillar of strength. Err, not literally, that is. So here's the plan: Niime will be equiping her nosferatu tome, just in case, and the other mages will be standing on mountains and forests in order to maximize their chances of survival against the incoming Pegasus Knights. Meanwhile... The Western Reapers and the Loyal Badasses (that does describe both Igrene and Dougy accurately, does it not?) will charge forward and lay siege to the castle. They'll be joined by the Destroyers of Elimine shortly. Marcus... Marcus has a different, if equally as important mission. Sigune's bodyguards, ladies and gentlemen: two Knights. It's nothing short of baffling to see how hilariously easy Ilia is compared to Sacae. The ballistician, having long since ran out of bolts, decides to hop on the fort and shoot an arrow at Lot. He's not much more than a minor nuisance. Roy is on visiting duty. This village is exceedingly important. it's Moneyman! And he's giving us a ring that brings out its wearer's inner strength. Well, I think I know of somebody who has a ton of inner strength to spare. The time has come, Marcus! Prove to the world... that even though you, Marcus, are old and senile... ...you will not lose to the likes of Bern! YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAH!! BEST JEIGAN IS EVEN BESTER NOW! That done, it's time to let Sigune's henchmen witness the show of their life. The Sniping Ladies begin the act with a volley of arrows... Dougy provides some very dramatic lance spinning, causing great impact on the Knight's heart... Wade makes the other Knight's head hurt with a very profound monologe on axes... And before long, all that remains is the grand finale. Sigune... Sigune's a horrible boss, honestly. If she had left a generic to protect the gate and moved around herself, it would've made for a memorable fight in Seize Emblem, but instead, what we get is a weighed down Falcoknight who can't make use of her tile's statboosts. She won't last long, I'm afraid, which is a shame, because if there's a boss that deserves to last long, it's her. Look at that. One hit, and she's already on the ropes, and that's assuming she didn't get hit critically. But I'm not going to do that: I've a better idea for the grand finale. I'll give her the death a decent throwaway in FE6 (Martel's game) deserves. One more turn... Lilina crit! And the reinforcements have finally arrived! For all the good it'll do them. That's a cool line. Really, this boss feels like she could've been interesting if only she had more than 2 scenes of screentime. She's not quite at the same level as Orlo, because Orlo had more scenes to him, but she's close. Anyway, let's begin. A couple arrows later, she's almost down. Therefore, the time has come. Marcus! You know the drill! THIS IS... FOR PHERAE!!! So long, Sigune. You'll have to wait until Sword of Heaven and Earth is translated for your chance to shine. I'm sure you didn't. You bossmen and bosswomen never do. And with what I frankly believe to be an absolutely amazing death quote, she goes down. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH C'MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?! IS THIS BECAUSE I CHEATED IN SACAE?!?! Well, no matter. He just got +2 strength. Only one more turn, and we'll be off. Roy is ambushed by a Pegasus Knight in a desperate attempt to avenge Sigune's death and stop us in our tracks. Needessly to say, she failed, and now she'll suffer the consequences of her insolence. Those being PHERAEAN PRIDE! I'm only doing this to get Lilina one last level up before the end of the map. Oh, well. Also before the end of the map, I'll be sending Tate to the shop to see if there's something worth buying. But first... you! You are the one who hit Niime after her brush with death! Do not believe for a second that I will let you off the hook! All things considered, I should've made her give away her sword. Eh, no matter, she only took a little longer to take care of both her opponents. It's all right, we still need to wait for supports. Eh. Decent, I suppose. Restore and physic! One of our two restore staves broke, so I'd very much like that, but another physic is always a great thing to have... I eventually decided to buy one of each. I guess we won't be buying boots. Too bad. It begins. Niime doesn't waste a second before throwing sarcasm and threats her grandson's way. Remember when I told you to remember that he's been healing and getting healed by her all chapter, and that there has barely been any time at all when they weren't standing next to each other to build up their support level? Yeah... good ol' gameplay and story segregation. Jeez, Niime... JEEZ, HUGH! Bwahahahahah... that was amazing. It's good to see that you inherited some of her sass, if only just a little. Raigh? Oh, boy... this isn't going to end well, is it? It definitely is not. No, no, it's fine, you don't have to do that... she obviously heard you, there's no need to be a dumbass and rub salt on the wo-- Pffffhehehehohohohoh... my goodness, I've got to hand it to you, Hugh: if nothing else, you've got some balls. It'd be hilarious if this triggered a battle between the two. I'd be tempted to say Niime would come on top, but again, 25 HP. Way to be an intolerant asshole, Niime. He just admitted that he became a Mage, and you go and basically tell him "kys". I didn't, because that's not how supports work. As little supportive as that was, it still counts as a support. No, I doubt that's it... I'll go for the third option, thank you very much. Bwahahah... he's such a manchild, I love it. Yeah, lucky you, now one of the mightiest magi in the continent hates your guts. Or at least, so she said. We're in luck: this is Hugh's best support, and arguably Niime's best support as well (although Yoder does give it a run for its money). We'll get to read some quality convos, if her 25 HP doesn't screw her over, that is. Finally, we may go. You mean, obvious stuff and legends that he probably already knew long before you were born? I like how Roy knows Merlinus is a nosy bastard, and opts to just give him permission to be. Oh! Very well, enlighten us, Guinivere. No, Roy, he killed his father. Period. Don't be so quick on the draw, lest you risk shooting yourself on the foot. Just like so. Roy, that's not helping! Cease and desist! Yes, by employing a ragtag bunch of assasins and poison instead of just walking into his room, stabbing him, and then leaving the room screaming "MURDER! MURDER! SOMEONE'S KILLED MY SON!". Then again, if he did that, Murdock might've gone after him, and Murdock isn't the sort of man you want to have as an enemy. So he became a murderer, growing determined to end humanity as a race. Much unlike Hugh, who instead became an arrogant, naïve crybaby. Does this mean Hugh's mentally stronger than Zephiel? Who would've thought... Then Merlinus jumps into the room and ruins everything. Eh. It's not as bad as the time he caused chapter 7. Nothing can be as bad as that. On a side note, I like how Guinivere doesn't trust Roy's advisor enough to keep telling Roy the story in front of him. Haha! Serves him right for being so... him! Noooooooo, what makes you say that? The best part is that he didn't even have anything meaningful to say. Guess we'll have to wait 'til the next Ilian chapter to find out! But before that, we've got another Sacae piece of crap to deal with. But no matter. I'll try to have some fun with it. We'll see how it goes. Fare thee well, everybody! To be continued. Nope. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: You blame Dougy for the absolute cataclysm that was the last update? That... is quite the accusation. No, not even I could do that. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I don't have one, and won't get one until the end of the Ilian chapter 20. An extra flier unit for flier utility/triangle attack (Why didn't they make one for Sue, Shin and Dayan? Could they not figure out how to do it for bows?) Point being this is about as easy a debate as Thracia's route split. Yet I'm more willing to go with the worse path in Thracia than Sacae. That says something. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Yeah, that you were, but hey! It does have its uses. Like, for instance: That wouldn't be the case if Raigh hadn't died. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: ...so, today's team. Pretty standard stuff. Really? No convincing you. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: So it does, Sigune. I can't blame Dayni for initially believing I based Margaret on Sigune: while they aren't exactly lookalikes, there definitely are some similarities between the two. I certainly wasn't thinking it because of their colour schemes. Also, look at the generic here. Are we sure they don't have a generic factory as well? 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: She does make a solid point. She hasn't a real way to know we wouldn't take over like Bern. Our word wouldn't be quite enough. As not-Martel as this woman is, I'm afraid the conflict truly is unavoidable, for once. So on the things that are okay:Martel diagram she lands firmly in the former. Not hard to be fair. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: This is pretty much true, more so because I benched our Thief for Dougy, in a masterpiece of a tactical move that I'm sure all of you (especially Dayni) enjoyed very much. Honestly, the way I made the preparations for this map screwed me over. Not much so, but it did. I should be more careful in the future... I can't enjoy someone blinding themselves. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Or he will tell you. Whatever it takes for the audience to learn about it. On a side note, that must've been interesting to experience. Them whipersnappers eh? Niime, smack him now! 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: There is one person, but he's not relevant to the plot yet. Is it the person trying to attack Roy with lots of small flecks of snow here? 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: ...huh. Well, this might be a reason: Ilia is treated as the default. If you got all four killed for instance, it defaults to Ilia. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Also, first fail of the day: she already has a flux and heal staff, so leaving Igrene with two bows wasn't worthwhile in the slightest. Urk... Well, that's what happens when you don't see something coming. Also, that's a nice attack stat. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I like this useless house. Cue a Falcoknight charging Sue and one-rounding her, leading to Sue only saying "Nani?". 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: And hey, it's not like they're going badly at all! Except for Niime. She still hasn't had a chance to do anything other than to eat sleep charges. That Druid has to be a beast. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Also, the Paladin has a random Knight's Crest that I found by pure luck. Whatever tickles your fancy, FE6... OF COURSE. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: ...she's alive? Hence why everyone argues for the Angelic Robe. Frankly I'd invest more in her if you can. She's one of your potential dragon counters after all. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Go to sleep! Oh. He's a beastly joke. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Anyway, let's begin. A couple arrows later, she's almost down. It's a disappointment when someone like this can be nearly taken down by 2 arrows. It's also a shame neither of your archers can finish her off. Disappointing is one way to put it. (Speaking of Dorothy, the Orcas artist I mentioned did Dorothy. He also has Niime somewhere.) 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: And with what I frankly believe to be an absolutely amazing death quote, she goes down. Existential, isn't she? Considering who she wants, you can see why she might be dead inside. Oh well, next boss is far less interesting. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: JEEZ, HUGH! Bwahahahahah... that was amazing. It's good to see that you inherited some of her sass, if only just a little. Well, he has to have some seriously diluted blood of hers. Considering his talent for elder magic and all. Saint Rubenio
Part 40 - Shit-stained one. Mother of God, this update. First, Imgur's captcha stops working for no reason, so I had to wait a day to keep working on it. Then, Serenes' stops working and refuses to let me submit the post after I hit "submit reply" and fulfilled the captcha correctly. It's not the worst update I've ever had (that "honour" goes to chapter 7, and not just when it comes to the technical difficulties), but damn, was it tedious... enjoy this trainwreck, guys, it took me a marginally higher amount of effort to shit it out than usual. On 29/4/2018 at 11:02 PM, Dayni said: Objection! He isn't even Americ- Sacaen! Well, yeah, but he's in Sacae, isn't he? Nope. Ahhh... That's cute, but I don't get why Nanna is using a sniper rifle. An extra flier unit for flier utility/triangle attack (Why didn't they make one for Sue, Shin and Dayan? Could they not figure out how to do it for bows?) Eh, quite honestly, I prefer Dayan. He may not fly, but he can actually fight. As characters, though, I like them both. They're cool. Bottom line, I like Dayan, but sadly, he does not even begin to make up for the absurd amount of advantages Ilia has to it. Point being this is about as easy a debate as Thracia's route split. Yet I'm more willing to go with the worse path in Thracia than Sacae. That says something. Eh. Sacae's playable in normal mode. I've gone there a few times in the past and it's not that bad. Hard mode, however... unkillable bosses! That wouldn't be the case if Raigh hadn't died. Except it still would be, because even with capped skill, luck, full hit-focused supports and WTA, eclipse's hitrate would still blow. Seriously, let's do the math! Here's the accuracy formula, according to serenesforest... Quote Accuracy = Weapon Hit + (Skill x 2) + (Luck / 2) + Support bonus + Weapon triangle bonus Being that Druids cap skill at 24 points, eclipse has 10 accuracy, and that the universal luck cap is 30... 10 + 48 + 15 + 25 + 10 = 108 What this amounts to is that even in the best possible scenario, the enemy only needs 8 avoid to have a chance to dodge. You know who has 8 avoid at base? Wendy. Fucking Wendy. And Wendy wouldn't even need the 8 avoid, because she doesn't face WTD against eclipse. Of course, this all assumes the Druid in question can cap both luck and skill. Raigh can cap skill, but not luck, his growth is horrendous. In conclusion, no, eclipse doesn't work, sorry. On a side note, you made a mistake, Raigh's not dead. Really? No convincing you. There certainly isn't! Hwahahah... I certainly wasn't thinking it because of their colour schemes. Nah, but I can see the similarities. They're subtle, but they're there. Also, look at the generic here. Are we sure they don't have a generic factory as well? At least generic soldiers get a pass, because with the helmets, one can assume they look different underneath. This? There's no excuse for this. So on the things that are okay:Martel diagram she lands firmly in the former. Let's take a look at the diagram... Yep, she's quite high up. Kudos to her. Feel free to discuss the tier list. Tier list discussions are always entertaining to read, even if it's something as ridiculously stupid as this. Not hard to be fair. Again, you could be the devil himself living in hell. I think the arrow goes even deeper than that. I can't enjoy someone blinding themselves. Does that mean you are not fond of using the Blinding Blade? Them whipersnappers eh? Niime, smack him now! It's more than what Martel got. (Speaking of Dorothy, the Orcas artist I mentioned did Dorothy. He also has Niime somewhere.) I'm not going to lie, that's really damn awesome. Dorothy (and Saul and Yoder) for heroes, when? Existential, isn't she? Considering who she wants, you can see why she might be dead inside. They really should've given her more than two scenes and a special convo with Tate/Shanna that can be summarized as "I won't go easy on you". Wait, no, it cannot be summarized as that, because the verb "summarize" implies there more, when there isn't. That's the entirety of her convo with those two. Then Jerrot doesn't say a word. Urgh... thank God for Elibean nights, eh? Oh well, next boss is far less interesting. Hwahahahahah... I suppose you mean next Ilia boss, because Kel, like Sigune, is actually rather good. Well, he has to have some seriously diluted blood of hers. Considering his talent for elder magic and all. All that was left was the sass. I wish we'd seen more of Bulgar in the prequel, but alas... Roartz looks weird in this scene. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but... Mostly liberating it. Today's trading shenanigans. Since this route is completely, utterly ruined and irremediably doomed to non-canonity at this point, let's just have some fun. I'll deploy Perceval, Garret and Fae and let them have some time to shine. Fae... ...come to think about it, did I even review Fae as a unit when she arrived? Let's see... update... er... ah, here it is. Chapter Douglas, part 1. Hmmm... I can't find Fae's statsheet here... maybe I forgot to screenshot it, but still talked about her in the update? Quote ...nope, I most definitely forgot. Like I forget about her every time I play FE6. Well, guess this is as good a time as any to stop and talk about her. So, Fae. I don't have a screenshot of her stats, so just look them up if you care so much. Her growths are through the roof, but she can only be used 30 times before she loses the ability to do anything at all, half of which she spends having to be babied because her bases are so low, she's a useless, fragile piece of wet maché paper for 10 levels or so. And if you don't use her, she'll be nothing but a 5-mov, forced dead-weight in the final chapters. The only good thing I can think of about her is that her dragon sprite is hilarious. Other than that, she's got the dubious honour of being one of the very few units in the series whose death doesn't simply cost you nothing, you literally benefit from her death. Think about it. If Wendy dies, you get nothing. If Sophia dies too soon, you lose the Gaiden and the Guiding Ring. Moving on to other games, if Macellan dies, nothing is forfeit, if Amelia dies (shame on you!), you lose nothing, if Tomas dies, nothing happens... it's all about how much you value their lives. Fae, though? You do get something for killing her, and given how little deployment slots there are in the final chapter, it's quite the substantial reward, too. If this game had an aum-like staff, my advice would be to always kill her off for that precious deployment slot in the finale, and revive her later. You benefit from murdering a child. Dragon-child, sure, but a child nonetheless, and the sick fucks who made this game decided to make her untimely death a good thing. Amazing. You're truly the greatest game developers ever, IntSys. Let's go. If any of you are wondering, "Ruben, couldn't you just skip Sacae? It's not worth it at this point", I'm sorry to say, I can't do that. If I did that, I wouldn't have the room I need for what I've in mind for Matthis and co. And besides, I've a few little ideas to keep things interesting. We begin with Roartz(?) shitting his pants(?). Here's Kel. If you've taken a look at the tier list above, you know that I find Kel to be another good minor boss. The last of the good minor bosses we'll encounter, in fact: everyone else from here on out is either bad or a major boss. See if you can guess who's who. One thing about Kel is that he's rather pessimistic. He isn't your usual "HURR DURR I WILL WIN BECAUSE I AM SO STRONK" dumbass, but is instead calm and collected, if a little too unconfident in his chances of victory. Orlo, Flaer and Sigune had a tad more personality to them, but Kel isn't bad by any means. Also, his portrait is pretty damn amazing. Also, he manages to roast Roartz(?) in his few minutes of screentime, which is always a good thing to see. It's like he's talking to a kid. "C'mon, lil' Roartzy, it's fighty time! Here comes the planes, wooo *cue in Matthis on a flying dragon*, draw your lance and fight it, and you'll get a treat later~!". Since when can you use staves? You're a Ge-- Oh, right. Actually... And what a flying shame that you do, because you're not that bad a guy. I suppose "anything" does entail "nothing", because Dayan won't be doing anything today. Heck, because of my plot alterations, he'll actually be doing more than he usually does, which is highly pathetic. You'll see. So, this map. I know, the map's broken. There are a few ways to handle this map. You can wait until the gates are opened (in a way that makes much less sense than what happens in my fanficcy plot, if I may be so bold), which takes hours, or you can circle around and break the walls. The enemies are just the usual for Sacae, Swordmasters-in-the-making and Swordmasters, Nomads and Mamlukes, Wyverns, and a few magi (the Sages, of course, have status staves, because why wouldn't they). This chapter, overall, is a tad easier than the last, because there are walls, so the nomads can't just go wherever they want. The same cannot be said about Kel, who is the best Swordmaster I've ever seen. Jesus fucking Christ, what is this? The final boss? Sure, he has a light brand, but his critrate is through the roof, which means you can't use squishies lest they risk dying. And of course, there's the problem that he has 89 avoid. Eighty-nine. There's no hitting this asshole! We complain about bosses being weak, but this? This is too much. This is the sort of boss that takes five million turns to take down, and that just isn't reasonable. But at least enemies don't spawn around you if you take more than one turn, and he doesn't have a brave weapon. Anyway, let's move on. Wade, determined not to be left behind, follows his friend's footsteps and unlocks his true potential. You could say he's promoted again. To Z̴̖̥͔̻ͦ̂ͫ̑̚̚Ȧ͙̪̖̝̦̺͗ͬͫͩ͛Ľ͇̜̘̓Wͥͣ̓͛̔̉A͚̣̼͎̬̲̚͘D̢̼̤͓̹͓͐͐̇ͤ̆͐E̿͂͗̋̃͟ ! The time has come, everybody. Perceval gets to do something! I've decided, this being the unofficial route and all, that I might make life a little easier for myself and use the best unit in the game. What do you think? Do you agree with my decision? You ready? Here it comes... HELL YEAH, PERCEVAL! TOP TIER TIME! TOOOOP TIEEE-- D'oh, he missed! It's all right, you'll do better next time, Perceval. You are, after all, the shit-stained top tier Paladin! The best unit in the game! Look at 'dem stats, I'm getting so hard just looking at 'em! What a hot statsheet! YEAH!! Look at those amazing weapon ranks. So sexy! What I wouldn't give for some rule 34 of this. No, I don't mean of Perceval, I mean of Perceval's statsheet. You know how the 34th rule of the internet goes: if it exists... Use your javelins to trivialize the game, Percy. That's it for this team, I think. Man, Marcus is so much worse than Perceval. I should've benched him in chapter 8. Then this happens. Sue, of course, fails to kill an unpromoted version of herself. Do your job, Merlinus: to eat shit and die! Not necessarily in that order! Ah, crap. Even here, in the bizarro universe, the RNG hates me. Oh, he got a critical hit! Just as always, Sacae is the route of the good Bishop critical frames. Isn't that great? Dorothy, too, is attacked, and she's as competent as ever. Watch as Perceval destroys his opposition! My goodness, Merlinus, you did great! You survive one hit! C'mon, man, you can do it! Get 1 EXP! Do it!! Alas, 'twas not to be. It's fine, you'll get another chance. Sadly. Look, it's Dayan! Hanging out in some random person's house, for some random reason. And now he's leaving. Forgive me, but I'm afraid I don't get it. That was interesting. In the original script, all of Dayan's lines here (all three of them), except for the dots, were attributed to the one and only Niime, who was in this random house with this random person and Dayan in Sacae because... uh... Dayan is Canas in disguise? This house is actually a compressed outrealm that is actually Ilia from a certain point of view? Whatever. Roy is helping! He used a sheet of paper to attack, I think that's why he dealt so little damage. It's time for the Manakete! Probably the worst Manakete in the series from a gameplay perspective! Kaboom! Ten out of ten, an amazing performance. And that is it. No more enemies to pester Roy. Sue and Garret fail to be of use. For this reason, Marcus leaves them behind, as he has no time to babysit rubbish units such as them. I didn't screencap this because I'm far beyond caring. Perceval will be getting this kill. He didn't need the help, but I wanted Hugh to get some chipping experience, even though obviously, experience is best spent giving it to Perceval, the greatest unit. Hell yeah, look at that damage. It's through the roof! It's so far up in the sky, I can't see it any longer! Of course, the RNG has decided it just wants to boycott Best Unit. Do you want me to sue you for oppression, game? Shit-stained Paladins are just as good as all other Paladins! He may have the personality of cardboard, but what great, high-quality cardboard it is! It doesn't matter: Perceval is so good, the enemy is too scared to move away and flee! Lot is a horrible lot-tier unit. Sorry, I meant low-tier unit. He almost can't handle one Wyvern Lord by himself! He's so afraid of the enemy, he needs to hug his teddy axe for confort! Go home, low-tiered bitch, make way for the greatest Paladin! Garret gets doubled, Dorothy is thrown into an oneiric world by the Sage's spells. All things Perceval would not have let happen. For shame! Look, Wade can't even one-shot a mere Wyvern-Rider with a bow. I'm sure if Perceval was able to use bows, he could do it just fine! Hehehehahahah! Yeeess! Yssssssss! He's great! So great! Up, you. Stop dishonouring Percy's Platoon. Garret and Sue aren't Perceval, therefore they cannot handle the brigade of Wyverns that approach their position. Run, run like grasshoppers! Cool. Nothing should happen. Oh, dear. That's not very Percevalish. Blistering barnacles, they ruined her face. Zalwade and Lot.exe fight in the enemy phase. They don't do very well, as you can see. I mean, obviously, they're not Perceval. Look at Wade, then look at Perceval. Can you see it? It's the difference between a top-tier badass, and low-tier trash. Dorothy and Marcus kicking some ass! Marcus Jeigans a Wyvern Rider for Fae-- Oh, please... that's lousy. This is why Paladins such as the shit-stained, Perceval, plague the top of every tier list. I'll vent out my frustrations by witnessing the power of Aureola! Absolutely delightful! Guess you may take the Jeiganed Rider, Cecilia. It's okay, EXP spent on waifu is always EXP well-spent. Garret, in all seriousness, this is your one chance to get your 15 minutes of glory, so allow me to warn you: you're wasting it. You can do better than that! Trying to match Perceval's level of grandness just isn't a reasonable goal at the moment, I'm afraid, so how about you try to at least surpass those low-tier losers, Lot and Wade? Should be easy, they're trash units, much unlike Perceval. Sue flees further ahead, into the range of the Wyverns. Oh my God, that was one hell of a bullet we dodged there! Oh, Jesus, no! Not Cecilia! Spare her! AAARGH! WHAT... WHAT THE HELL DID THEY TURN MY FAVOURITE FE GIRL INTO?! I-IT'S AN ABOMINATION! THEY... THEY RUINED HER! IT'S HORRIBLE, DESPICABLE, DAMNABLE, CATACLYSMICABLE, KICKABLE, BOMBABLE, SHOOTABLE, VOMITABLE, SHITABLE, DEATHABLE, SUICIDABLE! IT'S... URGH... GWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! ...that isn't a very nice thing to say. Who are you? What are you doing in my LP? Get out! Door's right there! ... Sigh... well, that's another reason not to make this the canon route. Another one for the pile. Murderchiken hits a Wyvern critically! I take no credit for the name Murderchicken. It belongs to the guys who made the old FE6 LP at the LPArchive. Shoutouts to you, Artix! Who knows, maybe he'll just so happen to be reading this, like the good Hippoman. Wouldn't that be too cool or what? ...which isn't enough to kill him and prevent him from doubling her. God... Perceval is so good, he can survive a round against a Nomad without breaking a sweat. He truly is a 10/10 unit. As opposed to Roy. I do believe this is Fae killing the Wyvern Rider. Don't take my word for it, though. Looks like I was wrong, then. No defense. That's it for this team and the Western Reapers, since neither of them can move. Ah, but that is all irrelevant! They're all irrelevant! It's Percy-time! Pffft... gwahahahahahah! I-I can't! I can't do this any longer! I... I... he's too great! Hwahahahahehehehyahyahyaaaahh! I can't handle his greatness! I am blinded by the light that emanates from him! I can't resist my forbidden desire, this fire scorching my soul! Allow me to bask in your shit-stained glory, Percy-chan~! AIEEEEEEEEEE!! Dear Naga, you've gone mad again, haven't you? AAAAAACK! What are you doing? You aren't supposed to talk to me! I-I'm not Plot!Me! characters are only allowed to speak to him, not me! I don't know, it wasn't clear at all who was who in the last LP. B-besides, you aren't part of this LP! What are you doing here at all!? It's not my fault if you're nuts! I mean, we're not even real! How are you seeing and talking to us, if we aren't real? Damnit, Luke! How dare you contradict me!? Don't make me draw my axe! Oh, no, not again... why did we even bother appearing before him? I-I dunno! Protect me, Leiden! I'm just passing by! Leave me alone! I want no part in your games! Stop! Here's Ruben! ... ... God, what a mess! Shit... okay, hold on. I'll have to clean this up... ...well, that's one excuse for stopping the whole LP to make way for some plot... not a very good one, but-- Ah, look what I found! My old sword! I think it's time I finally made good on the promise I made long ago, regarding you! Weren't you supposed to avoid making too many direct references to the old LP that newcomers might not understand?! Yes, but c'mon, I'm obviously hallucinating here. This is all in my head! Noone else could possibly be reading this, am I right? Jeez, you're batshit crazy! Can't you even feel the keys under your fingers? You're typing this whole thing, you idiot! How DARE you call me an idiot, you idiot?! C'mere! A-a-a-aaaah! Rody, save me! Will nobody tell me where's the exit!? Ah, yeah. Right there. Oh, I see. Thanks. ... Okay, I'm back. My heart can't handle Perceval any longer. I need a rest... Dougy, you take the kill. Motherfucker, how come you get to use your staff on the amazingest unit and I don't?! Hrgh! ...pfft... hahahahahahah! Fuckin' hell, this is too much fun! God bless alternative paths! Poor fools, they think they can exploit Lot's weakness... he's not sleeping, you fools, he's hibernating! And like the fearsome bear, he shall soon arise, and then you will cower in fear, but it'll be too late! Since Saul isn't Hugh, he cannot be silenced so easily. I think all has been said about this matter at this point. The Western Reapers are preventing the Wyvern from reaching Perceval. Party poopers... Jeez, this guy is so dumb, it's unbelievable! You could've attacked Marcus, or one of the sleeping axe siblings, or Dorothy at melee range, and instead, you go for Saul. What a tactical genius. Oh, my God, you can't be serious. Well, fuck you, game. We're waiting the status effects out. This is the biggest reason Kel is below Sigune and Orlo in the tier list. His plan is horrible, which is rather out-of-character for him. Of course, the fact that he has a character for this to be out-of-character is amazing and quite rare in this game, so I can forgive him. Still, open the gate to let the reinforcements in? Even though we are the ones waiting in front of the gate? What the hell, Kel? Ah, here we go. Hugh getting silenced. What a classic. A couple turns later, the gate hasn't been opened yet. Goodness gracious, Kel. With anybody else, I'd say you're just dumb, but you've given me enough proof of your not-dumbassness, so I'm going to assume you're just surrounded by morons. Reinforcement Nomads are inbound. Dougy, stop them in their tracks! Dorothy, Sue, Garret and Marcus, deal with the Wyverns! ...Marcus! Aha, that's my Jeigan! Good performance, Marcus. It's a kill for Fae! I don't know what it is about that second screenshot, but I find that frame to be highly adorable. Good effort, you. The plan is as follows: I'm tired, so let's just hurry up. Poor enemies. I almost feel bad for them. Nice, three crits! I think these two were legitimate, too! It begins. Jeez, Lot, give them a chance, will you? I won't show everything that happens up north, but... suffice to say, it's bloody. Very bloody. Hwahahah! Fools! You left one tile free to his left! Your end is at hand! Blech. But this route's levels don't matter in the slightest, so... hurray! No worries, no responsabilities! This route's gonna be fun. That won't save you. Neither will that! Very soon, the plaza is looking much emptier. We cannot see it, but I'm sure it's redder, too. These are reinforcements that come out of the grey houses to the south of Kel. For all the good it'll do 'em. Hyahahah! They sent a lancereaver Myrmidon against Lot and Wade? The fools! If you're wondering, yes, Dougy is still choking this point. it's time to deal with Kel. Amazing line right there. All the top three great bosses had great combat lines, in general, but this is probably my most favourite of the three. Sigune's best line was her death quote, but her battle line was still good. As for Orlo... All that came out of his mouth was oro gold. Heck, his standard fighting quote was probably his weakest line of dialogue, and even that was good. Speaking of good things, that didn't go so good. Neither did that! Jeez, Garret, if you die here, it'll be the ultimate ridicule! It was at this point that I remembered Dayni's suggestion that Kel might be a member of the Djute, so I checked his bio. As you can see, it doesn't really shed much light on the matter. Anyway, just one turn later, Lot manages to hit Kel. How lucky I am. These guys are still fighting. I'd be really mad if Roy died now. Lot levels up. Holy shit, the Warrior defense cap is really high, isn't it? No wonder they made Lot into a pseudo-General. I wish there were more durable Warriors out there. Berserkers go around without a shirt, they fill the "glass cannon" role perfectly. Why make Warriors simply inferior versions of Berserkers when you could have... well, not this, this is cheating, but Ilia!Lot? Ah, fuck. Hmmm... well, this could work. Supernaturally done, Lot.exe! Rest well, Kel. I'll honour you by giving you a palette and a true death. Nothing left to do but clean up the way for Roy. You served us well. Shame, now I can't warpskip the remainder of Sacae. And now it's over. Hmph! Bastard's better than the rabble he leads! He got you? Stand back! Hrgh! No... not yet! My mission... is not yet fulfilled! Stop it. You are defeated. ... We are willing to give you a chance. Please, drop your weapon. I am a soldier of Bern. I will fight to the end. ... ...I'm sorry. Huh?! What is he doing? Albertus, look out! He's going after you! Wha-- Uaaargh...! What!? General Brunja... forgive me... for this... this is the fate... of all swordsmen... I'll be honest, I really like how Kel's palette turned out. I don't even mean to pat myself in the back, because I didn't really do anything by myself: I simply picked the colours from his portrait and and used the recolor tool on Karel's spritesheet. IntSys could (should)'ve done that by themselves in five minutes. A shame they didn't, too, because it's the best swordmaster palette I've seen in GBA style. That shade of green looks very... swordmaster-ish, and his red hair complements it well. Really good, unique sprite, if I may say so myself. Not that that's saying much, considering almost every swordmaster in the GBA games (and the entire series, for that matter) is either black, blue or red, but... Kel's cool, very cool. I should give the other good bosses a palette, to see if they also look great... Hmmm... be back in a minute. ... ... ... Eh, they look generic. I suppose it fits Sigune, since she's a colleague of Juno's, it makes sense for her to look similar to her and her sisters. As for Orlo, well, his sprite is used thrice for Bishop enemies. He was given the "generic Bishop face", much like Monke was given the "generic Nomad face", so it's only fair he gets a generic sprite. It's not very important: Orlo's strength lies not in his looks, but within his great intelect and suave demeanor. You could say he's brilliant. Besides, the fact that he looks like an ally is interesting enough. He wore blue robes and, had he been given a sprite, it would've looked like that of a generic allied Bishop. Anyone would take a look at him and go "okay, he's blue, he's good". But little did they know, they stood upon the most competent boss in FE6! It's the perfect disguise! Jeez, even now, I'm finding great details about Orlo. Why wasn't he the main villain? Or at least more important than Roartz, for crying out loud! Anyway, that's that. So, how did you like this chapter? Were my tactics good? Do you find Perceval to be the sexiest unit in FE6? Think the answers throughoutly, and tell me for me to laugh some more! Next time: Quote Fuck, no! What did I do?! Until then, I sincerely hope you fare well. Goodbye! Meanwhile, in Ilia... To be continued. He may not fly, but he can actually fight. As characters, though, I like them both. They're cool. Bottom line, I like Dayan, but sadly, he does not even begin to make up for the absurd amount of advantages Ilia has to it. Dayan's not that impressive (though he has bows for the last few chapters of fucktons of wyverns) I'll take that flier utility honestly. 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: In conclusion, no, eclipse doesn't work, sorry. There it was to bring the family back together. Here? I have no idea. (Also Mark is the most likely twin here) 3 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: That's actually interesting. Saint Rubenio
... Lord Jerrot, I understand that this is your castle... Edessa. My wife will be inside, if she's still alive. Is there anything you can tell us that could help us in today's battle? Aside from the castle's layout, not much. I can't fight to take back my castle, so I can only pray for your success. ... I would've liked to return here with Noah and Treck, but... it was not to be. At least Juno's sisters are all right. She'll be pleased to hear that Tate ended up joining us... If she lives still, that is. Don't lose hope, Lord Jerrot. If she's alive, we will find her and pry her out of Bern's clutches. And if she isn't? ... Don't look at me that way. I know that the chances of her having survived Bern's invasion aren't that high. I've always known... Just go, and if you find her, send her to see me as soon as possible. Very well, Lord Jerrot. Sir Marcus! The battle is about to begin. Thank you, Lance. I'm going. Wish everybody good luck on my behalf. I will. Lance, keep an eye on the prisoner. Yes, Sir Marcus. I will ensure he does not try to escape... and that nobody attempts anything too harsh against him. That's what I was getting at, yes. Very well, then. To arms! I don't understand, what prisoner? Do we have prisoners now? It's... a long story. Hmm... well, we have time. Very well, I'll tell you. Part 41 - The beauty and the beast's last stand. On 4/5/2018 at 8:59 PM, Dayni said: Sure, this couldn't go wrong. That or Frost got the One Ring and he'll kill everyone to keep it to himself. I don't think he can even double Matthis, and that's assuming Matthis didn't grow even stronger from when we last saw him in FE12. If it comes to that... which it may, or may not do... More medals? Just make a set of decorative armour made of medals? That would be a cool thing to have. The person who made the gif did it as part of a series of gifs of units with guns and some other unconventional weapons. Ah, I see. Wrys with a Desert Eagle when? "I am Wrys, a humble curate. I cannot heal, but this gun I carry can kill your enemies. Take me with you, and you'll be very glad you did". Dayan's not that impressive (though he has bows for the last few chapters of fucktons of wyverns) I'll take that flier utility honestly. Eh, it's one way of viewing it, I suppose. Maybe I wanted to see more shots attempted. You mean worth a shots? Also, Raigh is undead dammit. No, he's not! He's... barely alive, but alive, damnit! I have a disagreement. It'll come up later on don't worry. Either you really care about Tick/Peres' placements, or it's Jahn. I mean she's not a tree. So yes I do. Okay? Clearly I forgot. Maybe I want her to fight some dragons in the endgame like her son. With that 25 HP and my skills, we'll be lucky to see her reach 19x. Juno also hints at it in at least one support convo. That's about it though. What a shame. All he inherited from Niime was her sass. Yeah, he didn't even inherit her awful durability. And I'm very glad he didn't. In hindsight, I'm trying to remember why I brought that movie up Thankfully I do, because in it two twins who were separated at birth meet and then decide to pretend to be their sibling. There it was to bring the family back together. Wait, what? How does that relate to the LP? Here? I have no idea. (Also Mark is the most likely twin here) Ah, I see. ...no, wait, I don't see! What does Mark have to do with anything? We saw more of Bulgar than all of Ilia in BS. I don't think I'm too mad. I am, I prefer Ilia. Oh look, you're that desperate. Heheheheheheh... I don't know, on higher difficulties of SD it's considered beneficial to have Tiki die with the falchion in hand so you can get 24x, then revive her there and then. I know, but the difference is that there, you can revive her. Here, you can't. Why the child dragons though? You also lock the best ending if you kill Fae. Don't forget. Oh, my, a scene that I've seen a million times. A truly gigantic payoff for getting another deployment slot in the final chapters. ...not even kidding, I've never been able to kill Fae off, just because that ending is great. HMMMMMMMMM............. That made me laugh way too much. So Rormand goes to heal the building. Imagine if he could actually do that, fixing broken walls and all that. That sounds broken in some maps. It would be hilarious. RIP man, you deserved none of it. Where does Rormand rank in minor boss tiers now? Or is that for after the next Sacae chapter? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Bit of sass there Frost. You sure you're not a cousin of Niime or something? Being sassy does not equal to being a relative of Niime. By that logic, Obi-Wan Kenobi's her long-lost brother. Kel does not fuck around. I want him in the Trial Maps instead of Narcian now. That would've been awesome, honestly. Maybe instead of Hector, since Hector in this game is just an inferior Murdock? One: Of course he misses. Must have been delirious from being in the convoy for so long. Two: Jeez that palette edit. Man this might go too far- What? Perceval is ruined. Why? Well, you said it yourself. Quote Must have been delirious from being in the convoy for so long. I don't see the humour in this. Mainly because making a unit worse is asking for trouble. The humour is that I wanted to troll the readers (read, you) and have fun. Both objectives were accomplished in flying colours. That means I'm winner! IN AMERICA! Hwahah! Hey, you edited Percival to have no stats. This Marcus gave no fucks is all. Of course he didn't, even without the edits, Marcus would be better than Percy! ....Because Niime didn't want to see Yodel, who was with the Elimine forces in Ilia? Reasonable explanation. Except it isn't, but it's the best I've ever seen, so I'll take it. I think the joke may have been run into the mantle. Maybe, but I still laughed. This image perfectly captures your opinion of Sacae at this point. It's too brilliant to bypass. Oh no, will you snap? Yes. Yes you did. And your luck has returned once you gave up on Sacae, I spotted a lot more critical from you. FE6's such a horrible game. As in, horrible person of a game. It's a sadistic maniac! Also you don't often see Fighters taking down Swordmasters. But at the same time, you don't often see Lot this late in the game. Most importantly, you don't often see Lot being so great this late into the game, without hacking (Ilia!Lot)! You've got to admit, however, that Wade's case is much more shocking. Lot's not that bad, but Wade's considered to be one of the worst units in the game, barely above the likes of Wendy and Sophia. Yet here he is, kicking ass. He'd kick more ass with a speedwings, but the truth is that he's still here, and will remain here until the end of the game at this rate. Spoiler What a flying shame that happened, too. What Ilian mercenary knights? They're all dead. Thanks for rubbing salt on the wound, game. Fucking chapter 7... If it was anybody else, I'd wonder why were these supposedly seasoned warriors defeated so easily. Then again, Murdock. The guy probably went in alone and took no damage at all on his way to the throne. Look, it's this guy. Man, is he ugly. I know I say that every time I see him, but... it's the truth, damnit! He's ugly as fuck! Right off the bat, things aren't looking too good for Roartz. Okay, before we do anything else, let's make sure nobody's stats have been affected by Sacae's shenanigans. Good, let's go. ... ...so, that teaser in the last update? Yeah, that did happen, but I fixed it. I tried to change Marcus's while in the middle of playing Sacae and it didn't end well, but it was easily fixed. No need to worry, this file is still clean. ...what, you expected more? Sorry to disappoint, then. Don't worry, Marcus will achieve ultimate power today. Just... not in the way you expect. Trading shenanigans. I should probably not be giving Lilina the Forblaze. If she dies, we lose the game. Aside from that, it's just the usual random item swapping. Today's team. I kicked Cecilia out for Niime because Niime is just plain better. If I get more deployment slots, I'll send her in again, but this chapter is really stingy with those. At least I didn't have to kick anyone out for Jerrot or something, since I'm using Tate. Reluctant is a way to put it. Another is "they don't want to help an idiotic fugly like you, Roartz". You got that right. "We"? Wasn't it Murdock that seized this place? What do you mean, "we"? I'd say "well, you're about to find out!", but then again, Jerrot's troop is no more. Urgh... You ready for a brilliant-tier line, guys? Hahahahah... oh, poor, poor, poor you. What do you mean, "miserable wasteland"? It's the most important castle of Ilia! It may not compare to Aquleia, but one just doesn't look a gift graveyard in the mouth. Meet Juno. She's a great character and is beautiful. Her stats, though... For curiousity's sake, the music that plays in this scene is the same that plays during the one in which Roy tells Lilina her father's dead. I believe these are the only two instances in which that theme plays. "Daddy's dead" and "Look, Jerrot's wife isn't dead!". I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I don't think that feels right. Inmediately, we get to see Juno being a good woman. I like that the old lady actually has more pieces of clothing on her than Juno, yet she's freezing. That lady with the hood and the coat was freezing, but you're just fine wearing a pink shirt?! What the heck? Did they switch the portraits around by mistake? Or both! Except only one of them will become true, because Jerrot died cannot fight any longer. Hint hint. It doesn't matter. I can recruit Juno with Tate. Although the best conversation is Jerrot's, as well as the best support for either of them, but sadly, there can only be one super-Jeigan. The other one was chapter 7'd before he could become super. More words. Sadly, it's just Roy again. It's interesting how your base before you enter Bern is located the farthest from Bern you could possibly go. But no matter, it's time for Roy to be a nosy little shit. ...no, Delphin, I didn't call you. Fall back in line! Anyone who's played FE7 (read, about 99% of the western FE players) knows exactly what this is all about. You know, this actually makes Desmond sound mildly sympathetic. Heartache is no light matter. Of course, FE7 opted for the easy "he's a dick, hate him" route. Have I mentioned I'm not fond of some fanfiction's storyline before? I suppose I should also mention I'm only kidding, just in case. I want to offend noone. ...what was I commenting on, again? Wait, what? Yes, it was! Daddy D hated little Zeph and went as far as to try to kill him in every way imaginable, so little Zeph went nuts. Now you'll tell me the real cause of all the troubles was a wizard. Gharnef. It was Gharnef, definitely. Truly, you can't win against Garnef, even when you're playing a game where he doesn't feature. My ass is more of a prodigy in combat than Zephiel is was back in the day! He couldn't fight to save his life in HHM! This time, they didn't even bother to make Merlinus arrive at the worst time possible! They just made an incorporeal entity inform Roy that he had to haul ass already. And with that cliffhanger, I am finally given the privilege of moving the cursor around. Today's map is the hardest Ilia has to offer. Probably. I might be misremembering 19x. Considering how every other gaiden save for 8x turned out, I should probably be skeptic about my memories of it being easy. This is one of those chapters with some really nasty first turns. All the crap factors of the chapter are inmediately right on top of us: Those druids near the entrances? Sleep staves, as well as a guy with a red gem that I doubt I'll be getting. The Bishop inside the treasure room? Purge. Light brand Hero, armorslayer Mercenary, Longbow Sniper... I've got to give it to Roartz: his defenses are well-managed. Once you get past the welcoming commettee, though, it's more or less over. The reinforcements are pathetic, the berserk druid is too far away to be a real threat (it's the one near Roartz, and he's stationary, so he can't even get closer to berserk more efficiently), and the ballistas aren't that impressive. It's all a matter of getting past those first assholes. Watchful viewers may've noticed there's an arena in this map. This arena is useless: if you try to train scrubs up, not only will you lack the time to do anything significant, but they'll get ambushed by reinforcements. I don't really understand why they put that thing there, it's pretty much completely useless. There's also this random ballistician who has an Elysian Whip that can only be obtained by warping in a thief. Why? Roartz has another gem that I won't be getting. As for his stats, he's a really boring General. His strength and defense are through the roof, but aside from that, he's not too interesting. Now, let's have a little bet. How many of you believe I will remember to watch out for the armorslayer? Here, I'll give you five paragraphs of dots to think your answer over. ... ... ... ... ... Well? You got it? Good. Keep it in mind. If you thought that I'd forget about the armorslayer, you failed. I didn't even realise there was an armorslayer asshole until he attacked, so technically, I didn't forget. Hah! You lost! Point for me! ...well, no, it's just no points for anyone but me, who loses Dougy. Eh, no matter, Dougy's speed-blessed. I'm sure he'll be able to take it. There he goes... Dougy didn't die, instead being left at 3 HP, but I was so damn shocked and scared, I forgot to take a screenshot of the event. That's how much I was expecting this to happen. Of course, with the Hero carrying a light brand, there's basically no chance of Dougy surviving. Wave him goodbye, everybody, 'twas a good run. ...or not, because the game was feeling oddly merciful that day. Except he took exactly 3 damage and was hit. Doggone it, this game... However! In yet another shocking twist of events, turns out I was actually mistaken when I said he was left at 3 HP! I remembered wrong. It was... five, I think? Whatever it was, what matters is that Dougy is alive. Somehow. You cannot believe how happy this made me. Still, it was really weird, why did those Fighters move so stupidly? ...hmm, I think I get it. Maybe Roartz wanted to feed the Dougy kill to this scrubby Fighter, but clicked through the menus too quickly and failed to notice he didn't actually kill Dougy. At least this proves Roartz is a fair player. He doesn't save-scum through his failures. My regards to you, you ugly, ugly, misshapen man. Now die. Hwahah! You fool! You couldn't kill her when she was unpromoted and didn't have Delphin's shield and you had 15 levels in your pocket, do you earnestly believe you can kill her now?! This is painful to watch. As is this, but at least it means he's not purging Dougy. All things considered, I was real lucky he healed instead of finishing him off. Then again, I was also lucky Fighters took the two spots from which the Hero or the Druid or the Sniper could've also finished him off, so... Bottom-line, I'm dumb, how could I leave Dougy in range of an armorslayer Mercenary. Have a heal, Dougy, and be sure to enjoy the rest of your life after that happened. You've earned the right to do it. The rest may fight and kill enemies as they see fit. Read, by not critting when I want them to. The two most useless stats for Saul, and he goes and gets them. Marcus obviously crits, because he's the best unit. And some Western Reaping later, the turn is over. The Mercenary can't reach Astolfo, don't worry. Not bad, but that was only the beginning. Here comes the promoted squad! They're... not too great. The flashbang is something. I can't remember what, but it's something. Niime, Tate and Wade are all attacked by ranged enemies, to unvarying degrees of dodging prowess. Sheesh, Dorothy... that's too much damage. Both his and yours. Arrrrrrrghhhhhhh! Up! Up! Up! I need all hands on deck yesterday! I said hands, not wings! Although, I suppose this does confirm the theory that Niime might secretely be a crow. It's not just the nose anymore. Druid down! But not without cost. Hang in there, Tate, help is on the way. See? Hugh, you've been carrying a Heavenly Arrow all this long? Where have you been keeping it? Why use it here? Eh, whatever tickles your fancy, you huge dork. Hmmm... well, I suppose I can afford to leave him in range of Marcus, at least. He won't die. Let's take out the Sniper before he tries to shoot Juno or something crazy like that. Hoo, boy, a brand new weird frame. What's that, a hang glider on the bow? Things are looking much better already. Roy has an axe now? This kid is incomprehensible! Lot takes one hit this turn. He may've fallen asleep, but that doesn't stop him from keeping up the ABS of steel. Argh! Bolting?! What is she doing carrying that thing around?! Yes, she did get doubled, if you're wondering. I just was unable to press F12, because much like with Dougy's near-death experience, I did not see this coming. Purge, though, is also heavy, so she didn't get doubled by it. Thank God. Remember that time I said that part of me likes the fact that this game actually does make extensive use of staves? That part grows smaller and smaller every day. Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup! For being such a legendary magical wonder, Niime, you sure can't dodge sleeping spells! Hey, now we know something else that Hugh inherited from Niime, in a way: the ability to get targeted by status staves every single time. The time has arrived, people. Heheheh... you know what this means, right? It means Durandal's vacation of dust-collecting is about to come to an abrupt end. You tire me. Therefore, you shall perish. This is the Druid's theoretical berserk range. He is stationary, so of course it's not this huge, but at the time of playing, I wasn't sure, so I made sure to keep out of it. Niime fights! In retrospective, perhaps I should've made her heal Dorothy, but I wanted this guy dealt with right this second. Capped strength, ladies and gentlemen. There's no stopping her now. Oh, for the love of God! Die already! FALL BEFORE YOUR MASTERS! Good. Looks like we're pushing them back successfully. All good thus far. Lot did get once, though, but it doesn't matter. He eats blows like that for breakfast. NOOOOOOO! I'm not even kidding when I tell you, that was my literal reaction to this. I yelled "No!" in real life. Good thing nobody else was in the room... In other news, Dorothy's dead. Why? Because I am not allowed to be happy. God fucking damnit. This death hits me hard. And not just because she's one of my most heavy-hitters and a bow user right before Wyvernland, but... fuck, I really liked this girl. She's a cool character, and for her to die like this... fucking hell, no! It's horrible! Who will keep Saul in check now?! You went a long way, Dorothy. Rest well. You didn't deserve this... being shackled with the duty to protect a sad excuse for a Bishop, and dying to another sad excuse for a Bishop. I'm so sorry... And, hey, if nothing else, at least you can say that you, unlike Wolt, didn't just get skill, skill and more skill until the cows went moo and your guts went splotch. Quite the opposite, you capped strength before dying. I'm proud of you, girl. Would you believe it took me until after I was done playing to realise this also means we've lost the brave bow, again, right before Wyvernland? The loss of Dorothy shook me so much, I couldn't be bothered by minor details like those. The worst part about this is that this is the first death in a really long time that wasn't bullshit. This wasn't a low-% crit, or bullshit reinforcements, or anything like that. This was entirely my mistake. Fuck me... Revenge! Heck yeah! Fucking DIE!! I don't feel satisfied. I want more revenge. Roartz, Zephiel, Idoun... you will all die, painfully, for you have taken the life of a great woman, and as the bible says, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. A life... for a life. Fuck my life, even that won't soothe the fire that rages within my heart! I WANT AN AUM STAFF IN THIS GAME, AND I WANT IT NOW! The game won't let up, because inmediately after that happens, I am presented with this marvelous situations. That's so lousy, one fucking point?! Why?! And the worst part is, this isn't the last time this happens in this chapter! A blast of bolting oughta do it. Or not, because Lilina can't hit anything when Cecilia isn't supporting her. Don't worry, Lili, turns out, a deployment slot has just been vacated, she may take that one. Gah... At least everyone else is doing fine. I stand corrected. No, Knight, you don't have any javelins. You can't just throw your normal lance, that's... unheard of! Hah, "killing" edge? Dougy is the killer here! CRITICAL HIT! Lot is doing fine, even if he cannot retaliate. Astolfo, too. Man, everybody's doing so good. Now that they've killed off one of my favourite units of the run, they see it fit to cut me some slack. I suppose they figured if they keep on crushing all of my dreams and hopes, I'll eventually give up and leave life, and that's not something they want... right? Ah, you're awake. Good. Get moving, we're on a tight schedule. A round of healing for everyone, to celebrate... what, exactly? What is there to celebrate? I don't feel like there's anything to celebrate. Not bad, but I'd much rather Lot could hit back. Good, no crits. Dodging. Not dodging! Screw you, Wade, I don't want to lose you too! This is irrelevant. Saul is standing by, his restore staff ready to purge the demons from Dougy's mind. Purge... baahfwaaaack why did I say that word... Ah, great! Lot is back. Unnh... huh? What? What happened? Oh, hey there, pal! You're back! Slept well? Wade? We were heading towards the castle... Yeah, and then you suddenly collapsed like a wall before my axe. Since we weren't going in, the enemy decided to bring the fight to us. Don't worry, though, I got you covered. I don't know what got over me... thank you for protecting me, Wade. I truly appreciate it. Bah, what are friends for? Besides, I'd never pass on a chance to make you owe me one! Heh... of course you wouldn't. All the same, thank you. Still, I'm glad you've decided to stop napping the battle away. I could really use some help here... Don't worry. We vowed to survive this war, and I, for one, intend to make good on my word. That's great to hear! Let's go, then! Make 'em tremble! Indeed! Anticlimatic. I shouldn't have taken that risk, that could've missed, and then Wade could've gotten killed. But it worked, so let's not dwell on the alternate universes. More strength to the strength master. Hey, you may be not be the quickest bulb in the shed, but who needs speed when you can just one-shot every Wyvern from here to the end of the game? Healing, restoring, opening, talking. So many nice actions when they're done by my guys and not the enemy. Let's recruit this woman. Jerrot's conversation with her is much better, but I guess we'll have to make do. Long? Not really long. "My boss, commander Klein of Etruria, joined this Army after realising they were in the right". That's all there is to it! How is that long? No need to worry. Plot-wise, Juno is a badass. Plot-wise. See, this is why you explain things. If you have the time to have long, drawn-out conversations, you have the time to explain the very simple chain of events that resulted in you joining us. Too good and diligent! This girl gave me far too much trouble in chapter 10B! Good, let's go. So, Juno-- Oh, please, fashion? You're gonna talk about fashion? This is why Jerrot's version is better. He wonders why she's wearing her combat uniform, and then she up and teases him by saying "I thought you liked my combat uniform". Can't say I blame him... No. You've 16 speed. As a FALCOKNIGHT! You don't even have a weapon! In all seriousness, though, that's sweet... or it would be, if it wasn't for the implication that Tate finds it very nice to be able to impale people to death with her big sister. Can that be considered "kinky"? Ergh... Yeah... I mean... Juno. Juno's stats do not do her justice. See, these are actually quite similar to Dayan's. The difference is that Dayan doesn't need to get up close and personal to deal damage. Juno does, aside from Javelins which weigh her down to the point she gets doubled. Seriously, she's slower than Wade when she tries to use javelins, and let's not forget that Wade has a support and more than double Juno's defense. Compare her to Jeigan. He has better strength, skill, speed, defense, HP and con, same resistance, and only 3 less points of Luck. How is this reasonable? I know my Jeigan is amazing, but... That said, Juno is Tate's best support option at this point, so... perhaps she'll get lucky. Besides, we just got another deployment slot to spare, right? Urgh... the average beauty count of the army may've won today, but I... I lost. Damnit! Anyhow, let's go. Open this the rough way, people! Oh, please... if Cecilia was here, that would've been a 1HKO. Igrene attacks the Knight through the door, revealing that he posseses a Marcusslayer. She can't quite kill him, but she does level up. Good, very good. You'll never be as good as Dorothy, but you'll make a decent replacement at least. And besides, this means we get to see Yodel and Saul's full support. Small victories. Maybe I went a little too overboard when I sent Lot and Wade alone to take on that side of the map. Oh, wait, no, I didn't. They could've taken them on just fine... had it not been for the sleep assholes! Shit, WADE!! NOT WADE! YOU MUST PROVE THAT YOU'RE NOT LOW-TIER TRASH! LET ME GUESS! NOW THAT HE'S RISKING DEATH, HE'LL HIT EVERY SINGLE TIME, CRIT THOSE HE CAN'T KILL IN ONE HIT, AND DODGE NOTHING UNTIL HE DIES, RIGHT?! RIGHT?!?! Oh, my. He missed! Yes! One more miss, and all of his exposed sides will be covered by enemies, meaning he'll live! Yes! Perfect! Absolutely marvelous! He even dodged that one! For once, my bad luck was actually good luck. Who would've thought? Okay, that's enough missing, thank you. You can start hitting now. Even though that was not enough damage to kill Wade, I still flinched when this happened. That's how nervous I was at this point. But can you blame me? I almost lost three of the main team in one chapter! Heck, I should be counting my lucky stars that we only lost Dorothy! It's a sad day when berserk is the best part of the enemy phase. The generic ladies begin moving. It is imperative for Niime's survival that they don't die. But that's okay, the only reinforcements that could possibly reach them will have to go through Lot and Wade to get to them. Perish, everybody! The Western Reapers have had enough of defensive maneuvres! Niime is about to level up. With her growths, I expect nothing, so it should be very easy for her to exceed my expectations. We're on a really, really, really tight schedule here, so you'd best hurry, Astolfo. Dougy, too, is about to level up! Speed, speed, speed speed speed! ...oh, my, that's not good. Get out of there, Igrene. You're my last hope for an Archer that's not Sucke, so you'd best survive! One more turn, and the wall is history. Whoa... double crits. Nasty! You know, it's a real wonder they waited this long for the inevitable crits. Knowing FE, one would've expected Wade to get hit critically in the last turn, when he was barely clinging on to life. I think the game knows it's gone too far by killing Dorothy. Yep, that's definitely it. Hah! Pathetic! That, too. Well, at least there's literally nothing you can do to avoid leveling up the next time you fight. Ergh, aside from dying, that is, but I'm not letting you die. I don't need a General, but I'm having too much fun messing with Dainy and his hatred for Dougy. What a wonderful, know-it-all Druid is Niime, eh? She keeps falling for-- Ah. Good. Thank you, Niime, for proving me wrong. Move forth, women. Move forth while we still can. Unnh... Don't worry, even if he took a crit, he wouldn't have died. And now he's back to being utterly invincible! You know what? This is perfect. More staff range, better heals and more nosferatu. I'm really happy with this level up. Not only did she get something with her horrible growths, she also got something she can use. Thank you. Down with you! You'll be critting noone! And it's back to the treasure room with you. Good, Juno can make it in and back out of the ballista's range. Like so. I do hope Astolfo'll have enough time to ransack both treasure rooms. I should've brought a chest key... Home-stretch, people. Not everybody made it, but... to those who did, I say, congratulations. Lot and Wade are finally done with their enemies. Good for them. Nice. I can think of a few people who could use these. Can you hear that, Roartz? It's the sound of crap falling into your pants. But don't worry: soon, that will be the least of your worries. Thieves. They won't attack the civilians. If they do, it'll be a Horseman situation. This guy really doesn't want to give up, does he? Too bad. This doesn't actually happen now, but later, in the player phase. However, the joke's flow demands that I place this here, so there you go. Bow down before the better General! Not bad. No speed, but skill is something you could use, and I'm not going to say no to some more defense. He's slowly but surely working on outtanking Lot. Keep it up, Dougy! The ladies are almost out. Good! Meh. Knight down, Druid soon to follow! Urk. Urk! Fuck it. For Marcus, 30% crit really means... 100% GUARANTEED PHERAEAN HONOUR! FUCK YES! DIE FOR THE GLORY OF PHEREAE! Support him now, Roy. Tate, help him equip his javelin. Best prepare for his confrontation with the uglyman. Bah. Well, that's that, at any rate. Reinforcements! Fighters from the north, Mercenaries from the south. Nothing too major. Orlo doesn't get a sprite, Sigune doesn't get a sprite, Kel doesn't get a sprite, Flaer doesn't get a sprite, but this guy? This guy gets a sprite. As for his quote, well, it's just him shitting his pants like Arcardo, nothing more to it. The odds may look dire, but even though he, Marcus, is old and senile, he will not lose to the likes of Roartz. Still, I'll have to send someone in to do the job for him. I'll think about it after the very short enemy phase. Well done, Igrene. Hmm... worth a shot? Worth a shot. Unnh... Healing for everybody! ... ... Was this really necessary, game? Did you really have to fucking mock me?! I don't deserve this, goddamnit! The mockery, not the longbow. I've been craving for a longbow since the other one broke. Sigh... So anyway, Igrene kills the Bishop. Jeez, that's all her life! 25 HP strikes again! This is completely worthless. I haven't a single unit that can use this, nor will I ever get one. My idea was to let these two pilfer the chests and then trap them inside so that I could steal the items back with Astolfo so as to save time. It was the most absurdly horrible plan ever. What was I thinking? Jeez, that's all her life! Again! Not anymore, though. Hah! Outclassed! As a result of me being completely stupid, I lost these forever. But, wait, wouldn't they just drop after killing the Thieves? No, sir, they will not, y'know why? Because FE6 is the worst game in the series and everything it does, it does in order to piss the player off. No items are dropable in this game. Lite-Durandal? Gone. Another nosferatu? Gone. God, it's a good thing there's so little of the game left... it's 19x, 20, 20x, 21, 22 and after that, nothing but the legendary weapons will matter. I think we've, what, 2 or 3 nosferatu tomes left? They should suffice. Actually, scratch that, I only have one. Amazing. But fret not, we'll get another one in chapter 22, and until then, this one should suffice. ...God, why am I so fucking idiotic?! Argh! Dougy doesn't need to tank, he can always just dodge. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh... next LP, whenever that is, I need to play something easy. Something that doesn't strive to make my life miserable. Something like FE8. I deserve a break, damnit all. I mean, have you seen my fucking death count?! It's more than half the cast! Literally! There are 54 characters in FE6, and I've lost 28! God! Bye, weapons. At least we won't lose anything else. Or anyone. Another turn gone by. Tate will choke the point. The enemy can barely do any more damage to her than they did to Dougy. Now that was productive. We may've lost two chests, but there are two that still remain. Astolfo, get to it. Level. Bad level. Right on. Roartz finally manages to pierce Lilina's heart with his spear. It's not quite enough to kill her, though. Purge! It's low weight, combined with Saul's titanic speed, means it can put a couple of mighty dents in anybody. I'm glad we didn't lose this. Hugh and Igrene team up to soften Roartz up. Lil' bit of healing, and... It's time for the most fitting finale to occur! Roartz. Roartz, Roartz, Roartz... Etrurian Army. Dougy is fighting for the Etrurian Army. The Etrurian Great General, he who serves the Etrurian King Mordred loyally, is fighting for the Etrurian Army. See where I'm getting at? Jesus fucking Christ, why is this guy so stupid? Who made this guy the High Chancellor?! D'awww, see? Dougy likes us! But you're the one who... urgh... look, just... Just don't move to the side, okay? Don't delay the inevitable. Thank you. This death quote is so laughable. Even Arcardo, man. Even he wasn't stupid and delusional enough to try to beg when he was dying. Yet here comes Roartz, ready to give the Brilliant Dumbass a run for his money. Spoiler alert: Roartz failed. The Brilliant Dumbass is unmatchable. He didn't even give Dougy a level up. Pathetic. Nothing left to do but to retrieve a sleep staff and to get some experience out of the reinforcements. I won't be showing that. Cue in the highlights! Bad. Good! Speed aside, you're a very solid General, Dougy. Don't let Gamefaqs convince you otherwise. Keep it up! Eh, if you had to get one stat... C'mon, no! Don't do that! I need you to be good! Still, eh, I suppose you do need some HP. Nice! Durability is what you need to offset your horrible speed. If I was so dumb as to fail to make Roy seize the throne before turn 25, this would happen. Thankfully, I'm not that stupid, so after taking these screenshots, I just rewinded and seized just in time. No. See? Maltet, to be precise. It belongs to Dougy. For a while, I didn't know whether to give it to Dougy or Marcus, but now that Marcus quite literally has a monopoly on Durandal, Dougy's free to take Maltet. That we must. But first... These women have gone to talk to Guinivere for whatever reason. Oh, yes, gimme gimme gimme. Roy? Fuck Roy! That's going straight to Niime! 32 HP, here we come! Next time, that'll happen. See you then! To be continued. Garlyle
Well, what a chapter. You lost a Dorothy, but gained a Juno. Totally worth it. 37 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: In other news, Dorothy's dead. Huh, so that's what they meant by saying she's a glass cannon. 56 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: As a result of me being completely stupid, I lost these forever. Which is perfect for me, as I never pay attention how many items my units are carrying. 58 minutes ago, Saint Rubenio said: Orlo doesn't get a sprite, Sigune doesn't get a sprite, Kel doesn't get a sprite, Flaer doesn't get a sprite, but this guy? We have to agree that Roartz is the worst villain in the entire game, IF not in the whole series. (if there is worse, let me know) Surprised Lilina had so much to do, yet she didn't level up. Punished Dayni
8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: I would've liked to return here with Noah and Treck, but... it was not to be. At least Juno's sisters are all right. She'll be pleased to hear that Tate ended up joining us... Jerrot's in a shitty place right now. If Juno dies, it'll just be worse again. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Ah, I see. Wrys with a Desert Eagle when? "I am Wrys, a humble curate. I cannot heal, but this gun I carry can kill your enemies. Take me with you, and you'll be very glad you did". No Wrys yet. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: No, he's not! He's... barely alive, but alive, damnit! Huh. I just assumed they're reanimated. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Ah, I see. ...no, wait, I don't see! What does Mark have to do with anything? That's me being an idiot and thinking Mark is supposed to be a lookalike in this case. Clearly I think that's incorrect with that reaction. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: That made me laugh way too much. Even worse, that's one of Zephiel's lines. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Being sassy does not equal to being a relative of Niime. By that logic, Obi-Wan Kenobi's her long-lost brother. We don't know that! 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Thinking back, I was really passive-agressive in that update, was I not? Screwing Perceval up, outright insulting Camilla... it's like I wanted a fight with some fan of either character. But in reality, I just wanted to show my contempt for the game. And Perceval. Yeah, that was pretty apparent. Percival may never be able to fight again after that. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: But dooood, fanservice~! Boobies = toptier, amirite? If that were the case Reinhardt would still be obscure and I wouldn't be afraid of Myrrh. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: She would've already been bad in chapter 16! But the enemies would have been easier for her to get kills from. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: What power? The power to make Perceval suck ass? If so, yes. Well, just the hacking on Sacae in general. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Honestly, Lot might just be the most perfect male in FE. He's buff, but that doesn't stop him from being intelligent. He's most enviable. He's a Lot of things indeed. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: They thought the 3DS was too weak for feet? How positively... uh... weird? They thought the game might crash if they had too much resource usage, which would include too many polygons in each model. Hence turning their feet into nubs was a resource saver. They underestimated how powerful the console was. Maybe it's why Corrin and Azura go barefoot in Fates, wanting to compensate for the last time. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Inmediately, we get to see Juno being a good woman. I like that the old lady actually has more pieces of clothing on her than Juno, yet she's freezing. The elderly are colder because they're closer to the icy grip of death. Juno knows this. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: There's also this random ballistician who has an Elysian Whip that can only be obtained by warping in a thief. Why? You can't have nice things in BB. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: There he goes... Dougy didn't die, instead being left at 3 HP, but I was so damn shocked and scared, I forgot to take a screenshot of the event. That's how much I was expecting this to happen. Dougy will be choked by the point! 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Hugh, you've been carrying a Heavenly Arrow all this long? Where have you been keeping it? Why use it here? Eh, whatever tickles your fancy, you huge dork. Pretty sure that's just a partial Fimblvetr. That's what happens when you're in Ilia: All your magic freezes up. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: In other news, Dorothy's dead. Great, she never gets to leave Oz. Just fantastic- *Out the door 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: You went a long way, Dorothy. Still doesn't mean she had to die though. Purge is brutal here (In this game). 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Would you believe it took me until after I was done playing to realise this also means we've lost the brave bow, again, right before Wyvernland? The loss of Dorothy shook me so much, I couldn't be bothered by minor details like those. The worst part about this is that this is the first death in a really long time that wasn't bullshit. This wasn't a low-% crit, or bullshit reinforcements, or anything like that. This was entirely my mistake. Fuck me... Well that's not a good sign. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Don't worry. We vowed to survive this war, and I, for one, intend to make good on my word. This is definitely not the time to say these things Lot. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Ah. Good. Thank you, Niime, for proving me wrong. Niime has magical illusions she can just cast and leave as distractions? 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: 100% GUARANTEED PHERAEAN HONOUR! This guy gets a sprite. Alright, now BB have no excuse. They could do it and only gave it to Roartz? That's it, BB's now worse than MotE to me. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: As a result of me being completely stupid, I lost these forever. Argh! No dropping in this game. BB is the worst. 8 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh... next LP, whenever that is, I need to play something easy. Something that doesn't strive to make my life miserable. DestructionDragon360
It's really too bad for Margaret and Cecilia that they don't realize Ruben's not responsible for these two's appearance. Also, don't make the mistake of thinking FE8 is too easy. I just finished Chapter 6, aka Worst Fog of War ever, and the map was determined to chew me up and spit me out. Even when I had a perfect strategy mapped out, I had to play it over and over because I'd keep getting killed by a series of low% hits. And no one was safe from it. I lost: Eirika, Franz, Vanessa, Natasha, Colm, and Neimi on that map, once each, at least. And the map only deploys 10 units! Saint Rubenio
Part 42 - Clusterfucked manor of nonsense. Whew, this update took quite longer than usual, did it not? But I promise, it'll be worth the weight wait. Carry on reading, and you'll be very glad you did. On 8/5/2018 at 5:48 PM, Garlyle said: Well, what a chapter. You lost a Dorothy, but gained a Juno. Totally worth it. Yeah... totally. Huh, so that's what they meant by saying she's a glass cannon. Yes, yes, can we stop talking about Dorothy's death? At least if you have too many items on hand, you send them straight to the storage, and won't just leave on the floor. Which is perfect for me, as I never pay attention how many items my units are carrying. Yes, unless it's an item that's needed inmediately, I always do like to send items to the convoy. That's actually something I did like about FE7, you actually have to defend the convoy if you want to preserve that utility. In every other game, Lords are apparently given Doraemon's pocket. We have to agree that Roartz is the worst villain in the entire game, IF not in the whole series. (if there is worse, let me know) Jeez, that's a bold claim... and I'm inclined to agree. Surprised Lilina had so much to do, yet she didn't level up. No, she didn't. Surprising, to say the least, but she'll get her chance next time. Not today, she's dead today. On 8/5/2018 at 6:25 PM, Dayni said: Jerrot's in a shitty place right now. If Juno dies, it'll just be worse again. Better get some competence going, then. No Wrys yet. Aw, shame. Huh. I just assumed they're reanimated. Well, yeah, extensive use of healing magic could be considered reanimation, just like CPR, I suppose. That's me being an idiot and thinking Mark is supposed to be a lookalike in this case. Clearly I think that's incorrect with that reaction. Shit, I spoiled it! Ah, no matter. Mark's lack of involvement in the story isn't that great of a reveal. Mostly because, well, I've nothing to work with if I wanted to include Mark into the story. Standing in front of trees turns him invisible! how am I supposed to do anything with that? Even worse, that's one of Zephiel's lines. Yeah, I noticed the name of the file. We don't know that! Does this mean Niime has the high ground? Hmmm... ...yes, it does work. Yeah, that was pretty apparent. Percival may never be able to fight again after that. You haven't seen anything. If that were the case Reinhardt would still be obscure and I wouldn't be afraid of Myrrh. Perhaps, but as we know, Heroes is but a spin-off, not related to the main series. But the enemies would have been easier for her to get kills from. No. Give it up, you can't win! Well, just the hacking on Sacae in general. About right, indeed. He's a Lot of things indeed. Sheesh... They thought the game might crash if they had too much resource usage, which would include too many polygons in each model. Hence turning their feet into nubs was a resource saver. But... every other game in the console had feet in it... Luigi's Mansion 2 never did crash on my 3DS, and I'll have you know, my 3DS was a second-hand version of the first model. As in, it's old as heck. I need to replay that game. It has one of those endings that's capable of making me feel funny in the chest everytime I see it, it's too nice. Also, Luigi. They underestimated how powerful the console was. Maybe it's why Corrin and Azura go barefoot in Fates, wanting to compensate for the last time. There is also another reason that I will not be mentioning because, hey, there's a time for lewd talk, and that is not now. Because Cecilia is dead in this route. The elderly are colder because they're closer to the icy grip of death. Juno knows this. Holy mother of fuck, that was brutal. Love it. You can't have nice things in BB. Well, there's Dougy... Dougy will be choked by the point! Finally, I got you to say Dougy instead of just Douglas! Soon, the entirety of the FE community will be calling him Dougy! Pretty sure that's just a partial Fimblvetr. Anticlimatic. Way to ruin the mood, man. That's what happens when you're in Ilia: All your magic freezes up. Pffft... that's so silly in so many levels. Magic's like "I AM INVINCIBLE" and then boom, Ilia'd. Great, she never gets to leave Oz. Just fantastic- *Out the door Well, she may not've left Oz, but you did. Through the door. Still doesn't mean she had to die though. Purge is brutal here (In this game). Yeah, mostly because it exists. Well that's not a good sign. No, it isn't, but on the other hand, it may mean the calm after the storm is to come. Good things shall come to pass. Not in this update. In this update, it's the greater things that will occur. This is definitely not the time to say these things Lot. Yeah, he's gonna jinx himself! Niime has magical illusions she can just cast and leave as distractions? It's basic druidic stuff, that. It's also why Canas died: he summoned an illusion to distract the plot snowstorm, but because he was such a big-hearted dork, he felt bad and went in to save the illusion, sacrificing his life. Then it didn't matter, because it was nothing more than an illusion that faded away with him. ...man, that's sad, I wish I didn't suggest that. FOR PHERAE INTENSIFIES YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Alright, now BB have no excuse. They could do it and only gave it to Roartz? That's it, BB's now worse than MotE to me. I mean, it's not hard to be worse than MotE. It may not have the best story or graphics, but its gameplay is quite brilliant, and not in the Martel w-- Oh... MotE, not NMotE. Yeah... jeez, that's harsh. No dropping in this game. BB is the worst. Even FE1, man. Even FE1. Merciless SD? Heheheheh... HAHAHAHAHAH! HWAH HAH HAH HAH HAH! No. A Mordred who was vulnerable from his son's death? ...yep. Sounds quite logical. Gamefaqs faqs were all about growths. They argued Wendy and Sophia weren't the worst. They were wrong. By that logic, they would've argued Dougy sucks because he's a prepromote without growths, which are the two capital sins of FE for them. Meaning, since they're wrong, Dougy's 10/10 toptier unit, amirite? "You might be a loose cannon Margaret, but dammit you get results!" That she does, somehow. You know, the firing squad is still a viable idea. I suppose so. Yeah, no way will his ending be the same. He's too doubtful. Well, you know the drill. Ye.... Yep that's about right. Seems like that line caused the effect I wanted it to. Run Gonzy run! And Barth. He's still alive, if you didn't remember. Humphrey. Stop it. A pile of heads is not a substitute for suitable building materials. Well, with enough cement applied to them... Well that's a bunch of corpses in the white noise. Hell, people could think they died in a blizzard. ... Also, a dumb note that was too late to put in the NMotE playthrough: Reveal hidden contents It's only recently I realised Pretzel actually had meaning as a name: PRogeny of ETZEL Man, talk about necroposting. This post was so necro, it wasn't even posted in the dead thread itself, but its successor! This LP inherited its crickety old pa's necroposts, that's how old it is! Man, half a year sure is a long time! About the thing itself... huh. That was obviously an unintended side-effect. Not sure how I feel about it, either, Pretzel doesn't deserve such good things. Next time: We get to see if Rormand dies. Spoiler alert: either he will, or he will not. What's so glorious about bullshit siege tomes? LOL at "interest" being dead in Sacae. MinervaMilady, you haven't seen anything yet. Just carry on reading. Spoiler A simple introduction. Nothing wrong with it. So... right off the bat, as soon as the intro's over, I run into some problems. First off, Perceval has decided to rebel against his fate to be the greatest unit ever. And that's not all: somehow... ...his rebellious schemes have affected the one and only Marcus as well, albeit negatively in his case. Blistering barnacles! What can I possibly do?! Well, to begin with, Jerrot's coming today. Since this is bizarro run, I figured I might let him have his fifteen minutes of glory. Minerva is also coming, because as a level 10 Wyvern Rider with huge bases, I decided I could give her my Elysian Whip in order to obtain a very solid "prepromote" that'll be vital to get through the remainder of the route. Very well. Let us go. Lot and Wade have been benched because, hey, they've had more than their fair share of glory, they shouldn't be hoarding the spotlight. Man, I wonder who we'll be recruiting today. It's a mystery. Not of the emblem, but a mystery nonetheless. Another very simple introduction, as well as a hint on the time limit... which Ilia did not provide. Guess that compensates for the higher difficulty? Well, more on that later. Oh, by the way, this chapter originally has the same daylight castle background as always, but I decided to change it because, well, it's ridiculous. This map is supposed to take place at nighttime, why else would there be fog inside a manor? So, the map. For starters, I want to make this perfectly clear: do not put the Sacae gameplay in the same bag as the plot. I know I've said this already, but I find it necessary to repeat it now: this is not a faithful representation of Matthis and co.'s adventures. It is NOT. NOT AT ALL. Understand? I'll say it yet again: the gameplay portion of this update (and the next Sacae updates for that matter) are NOT representative of the adventures of the Archaneans. We're clear on that point? Good. See, initially I stuck to little edits, because I didn't want to screw the rom up too much. Then it hit me, "hey, I can just use another rom for Sacae!". Then I proceeded to go absolutely nuts on the poor thing, like Dr. Frankenstein before me, until... ...this came to be. So, this chapter. It used to be a FoW map that used to have unreachable bolting assholes and ballisticians with a 25 turn limit that used to matter with treasure to waste time with and a few pretty dangerous units around, like a Wo Dao Swordmaster, the aforementioned bolting assholes, etc. Overall, I'd say that, for once, this chapter is actually easier than its Ilian counterpart. Ilia had sleep staves all over the place, purge (which is more accurate than bolting -- actually, quick edit here, no, it isn't, but Bishops tend to be more skilled than Sages, so there's that), nosferatu Druids, NPCs to protect, the treasure was not as neatly placed as it is here, and overall, it had more roadblocks than this one. There's also the fact that, well... It looks like shit. I figured I might as well emphasize that fact, since some of you may not've noticed it. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand this map. So, first off, let's take a look at Perceval, the rebel! Take a closer look. It's hard to see due to the gigantic stat bars, but notice how his caps are now very low? Yep, if he wants war, he'll have one! Of course, this also means Marcus has been affected, since they share the same class. In a very heroic and tragic moment, Marcus declared his intent to sacrifice himself to ensure the stability of the universe by keeping Perceval in his rightful place as the best unit ever. I cried. Very well, before anything else, let's make Minerva promote as planned. Wait, what...? Heh heh heh... did you truly believe all that teary nonsense? Did you truly believe I would let Marcus fall in disgrace!? Everybody... Wave the good Paladin goodbye, and say hello to... THE MOTHERFUCKING KING OF PHERAE, BITCHES!!! Hwahahahahah! UNLIMITEEEEEEEEEEEED POWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Oh, and that's not all. I also crafted a personal sword for him by using forbidden magic! Make no mistake: if you read "king of Bern" there, that just means you've got dyslexia. (Yes, Niime is now a Morgan. Are you gonna judge her? Check your privilege before commiting such a crime against political correctness!) Saul has finally become what he always strived to be: a green old man. D'awwwwwwwwww it's such a shame that I'm writing this LP in english for a mostly english-speaking audience, because I don't think this expression exists in english. The spanish readers will understand this joke. And like it, I hope! Jerrot, much like Marcus, has also been buffed, but sadly, there can only be one King, so... how are we going to prevent this great man from falling into the same sack of shit as Perceval? Why, by handing over his new personal weapon to him! Destroy! Hwahahahah! Destroy! Break! Ruin! Crack! Obliterate! Gaze upon the abyss as it consumes you! 20 experience points. Since his mom has non-canonically joined us, Hugh has decided to try to hide his mageness by wearing druidic robes. I can only hope (s)he doesn't notice he's using anima still. And Dorothy... Dorothy's now a pretty girl. Here you go, Perceval. Enjoy this kill, for it'll be... Your last! Dougy gets some speed. Ilia!Dougy doesn't need it, but this one does. Garret... I just had no idea what to do with Garret. I liked how Mordred is named in nightmare, "really old-looking king", so I just went for it. Merlinus is looking kind of cross-eyed today. Having some technical difficulties, eh, Merly? Hahahah... Okay, that's it. let's keep going. Oh, my! Perceval died! Who could've foreseen that?! That you were, maybe even the brilliantest. Sadly, I couldn't find a way to change the portrait with my very basic hacking skills, but that's all right. Merlinus also died. How sad. Niime-- d'oh, why? Dodge, damnit, you dodged in all those test runs! Go! Up on your feet! Can you hear that, guys? It is the sound of FOR MOTHER FUCKING SHIT ASS... c'mon, move it... running out of foul words here... PHERAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Fae is helping, too! Garret fails to kill, of course. For having a 61% chance to crit, he sure isn't critting a lot. Very well, it's up to you, Jerrot. Finish the job! Cool. Argh! Argh, argh, argh, so many flashbangs! Eh, she survived. I stand corrected. Ergh... okay, let's move on. Because, alas, this is an Ironman run still, so there is no going back. It's all too bad, but one must play by the rules. There can only be one life, no continues, as in real life, as in existance itself. Oi, what are you doing? Pay attention to the speech! Don't look at the screenshots! So anyway, this happens again. Marcus is not pleased: he probably was hoping I'd at least stick to the Ironman rule in this mess of an alternative reality. Don't you dare criticize me, or else, you shall pay dearly for your insolence! Roy gets the speed this time around. This.png Oh shiet, Minerva! At least she dodged again. When used at range, the Poison Sword only deals 10 damage, much like the light brand, so it's good for Jeiganing. Much unlike the Slim Sword. Your turn to shine, Minerva! Move aside now. Give Dougy some space to do his lance juggling. Merlinus dies again, and nobody was sad that day. Hah! Missed! Look, it's Dayan! And daylight again, it seems. Dayan isn't attacking for some reason. It's a sweet reunion! She has been through much, okay. You're not even going to acknowledge the fact that your clan is dead? No? Okay. You trust her word, even though she said the Earth is green, even though it's more of a mixture of blue, green, yellow, red, and... pretty much every colour ever? Sigh... this recruitment does not do Dayan justice. I can only hope the canon version feels a little better, at least. If you're wondering why I just reset the game, it's because the visual glitches were fixed by the conversation, and I can't have that, now, can I? Yet, resetting did not fix it. How strange... Ah, there we go, the black squares are back. All I had to do was open Minerva's statsheet. See, I told you she would be an inmensely useful asset! So, anyway, D-- ...sorry, gimme a minute. Dayan is not bad. He has pretty good base stats (far better than Juno's) and he has access to bows, so he can fight against those pesky Wyverns in the final chapters. Not to mention, his huge con of 16, which can even lift Dougy, means he's a far better rescuebot than Juno. All Juno has going for her is the ability to fly over hazards, and really, at this point of the game, that's not good at all. Of course, this is all ignoring Dayan's crippling flaw: the fact that he appears only in Sacae. As much as I'd like to use him, it just won't happen. Also, his inventory's weird. So, anyway. You want to know the true reason why Dougy is purple? Why his name starts with a D? Why he's such a worstthingever? Well, my friends, allow me to reveal to you Dougy's true form: HE'S THE DEMON DRAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is also still just as slow as his Ilian counterpart, which is baffling, to say the least. Anyhow, some ol' Jeiganing for Fae Ergh... ...I'll deal with that later. For now, this. Look, a crit ranged sword Paladin frame! Never thought you'd see anything like that? Well, there you go. It's not that great. Oh, for the love of... urk! Roy attacks the enemy with Jerrot's personal sword. See, it's a very special sort of personal weapon: it can be used by anybody with a sword rank, except for Perceval because I don't want to give it to him. There we go. Dougy, show them the power of the Demon Dragon! Ergh... nothing's happening. That can't be good. Okay, allow me to disable his animations. I find the "solo animations" icon to be really funky. It's like a rifle that turns into a twig while doing circles on top of a tsunami wave that's coming down on a golf field. You just have to employ a little imagination to see it. Anyhow. ...still nothing happening... Okay, fuck it. I can't rewind far back enough to stop you from standing there, but I can make Fae take over, at least. With the final boss' weapon, she'll probably be invincible! Oh, please, again? Sheesh, this murderchicken is completely useless! ...wait, the game's bugged again? What? Ooooooooooooh I see, they were just taking their sweet time to move... they never were stuck, Dougy could've stayed in his true form without animations just fine... too bad I can't reset now. Dorothy got a level. Could this LP's Sacae route be considered the Outrealms of Elibe? Because if so, that just means Dorothy is alive here and she's cute. Ain't that a riot? Since at the time of playing, I thought Dougy broke the game beyond repair, I decided to instead help Hugh make his granny proud. So now he's the world's ugliest Druid. I like green, but my goodness, that palette just doesn't work for this class. Honestly, I think he was better off as a Sage. Breaking news! Useless Mordhähnchen becomes marginally less useless through good level up. See, Japan? I can also use foreign words to name things and be like "yeah, that'll work! I'm sure no Germen will ever read this!". I'm starting to run out of things to say, here. You've seen all the crazy shit. What else is there to say? This, that, and Dayan happens. Wait, what? Dayan, what are you attacking with? Oh, I see. You're attacking with the decapitated head of a cartoon king. Back into the team with you! Jerrot does his thing after retrieving his weapon, while Dayan hands over the Eckesachs to Roy. He can't use it, but I can think of somebody who can... It's... not Marcus. Fuck! It's probably locked to Zephiel himself as a character, not to his class... Who cares, Marcus the Armless does not need such mundane weapons as the legendary Eckesachs. Hugh's first attempt at dank magic is underwhelming, to say the least. But at least it allows Fae to-- Faaaaaeeeeeee! Okay, now please get something good so as to cease being so pathetic. Not bad, but you need much more. Look, Perceval could kill this Mage with only a crit! Truly, top tier material, eh? The Tomahawk is not a bad weapon. Here we go, another turn ends. Marcus gets a level which does not prompt him to put on his happy face. Alas... Worth a shot! ...Lot! Embarrassing! Ah, well, better late than never. Jerrot is about to level up! Let's let him! Would you believe that, when I set his growths to 200, I didn't realise it wouldn't matter at all due to the low caps until I saw this level up? Eh, it's all right, he can use that not shabby at all bulk of his. 1190 con, holy fuck, and we complained about Dougy being too heavy. Strangely enough, even with all that con, he still can't rescue Merlinus like Percy can. Very well. Marcus may be the King, but his EXP gains are very good nonetheless. Hugh fights with dark magic. It's not very good. Polloasesino can't one-shot a Mage without backup. And doesn't get enough HP out of him to level up. I'm... not even going to try to make up a description for that. Time for a trading chain. The objective, for Garret to have his chance to-- ...shine... Of course, A rank. It's too much for Garret. Sigh... You didn't stand a chance, and you still managed to blow it. Amazing. Here's the Wo Dao Swordmaster. Let's not let him put it to good use, shall we? Jesus, Garret... Holy blistering barnacles, Garret, he's unpromoted and you have WTA! And not just any WTA, improved WTA due to the wrong reaver weapon! Why does this picture exist? Don't ask me, I have no idea. Nice! Finally, he does what an FE6 Berserker does best and hits critically! Not bad. You need these. Here, have a heal as a reward for your efforts. Well Jeiganed. Fae, it's all yours. Pfffffft... that face. If nothing else, you got a funny sprite, Fae. As well as some kick-ass growths. Hand that back to its rightful owner, for him not to use it in favour of ballistaing a wall from afar. Wade shoots a flashbang at the Swordmaster using his bow, allowing the Demon Dragon to catch him unawares. Very good, everybody! You may not go to heaven after you die, but hey! You got to see heaven before you died. Why, it's what killed you! Nice!! Perceval can kill this guy. Truly toptierish! Alas, the RNG would not have it that way. But Perceval is too good to die like this. Therefore, he activates a secret skill that only top-tier badasses possess: Resurrect. Toptierly, Perceval! Jerrot is helping too! Jesus, the RNG is determined to screw Perceval over, ain't it? Now, it's even tampering with his DMG numbers! Not a full heal, huh... I'm sure he could take it if he wanted to, but I'm not willing to trust the RNG to leave him alone. We'll just have to kill everyone in the room without giving them time to attack Percy! That's easier done than said-- oh my goodness what in the world is that frame. Good, he's safe now. I'm not satisfied, however. Let us breach the throne room. Of course. Typical Devil Axe: even when you're cheating, it finds a way to screw you over. Eh, what's the chance of Dougy dying here? Lower than zero, definitely, but the RNGoddess still tried her damnest to make it happen. Let's try this again. Don't screw up, Dougy. You'll force me to rewind. Ah-ha! Gotcha! You weren't expecting that, were you? Too bad. It's time to go find out what happens after death! Let's unlock the door before pilfering Roartz(?)'s treasury. This is the booty. Throughoutly uninteresting and far worse than Ilia's Wyvernslayer (which I lost like a dumbass) and Purge. Dayan continues on being the only worthwhile thing about this route... Well, would you look at that. This thieving cur believes I will let him go just because I'm done taking all the treasure for myself. Hah! Not in a million years, pal! Unleash the 殺鶏! Cool! Eh, while we're at it, let's just kill the Snipers as well. No mercy! It's time to face Roartz. For whatever reason, he's an amazing Sage with a random fortify staff in this route. His HP will be his downfall, though. I know, he had one less HP when he killed Morgan. Let's say he leveled up from that and got one HP. Of course, there is only one way I could possibly deal with this boss... and that is... WITH THE BEST UNIT IN THE GAME, OF COURSE!! It's over. And that's it! Sacae has been liberated. Next time, we'll fight a really generic boss and claim Dougy's personal legendary weapon in chapter 20I/A/Ilia/thegoodroute/whateverx! Until then, I bid you fare thee well! Click this, and you'll be very glad you did! Uh-oh! To be continued...
