The Fire Emblem 3 Houses General Questions Thread

Recommended Posts

It's some strange meme that spread trying to make Edelgard look worse than she is. Bernadetta isn't hurt by it gameplaywise, but maybe she gets lung cancer three decades after the game due to it (if she manages to avoid being butchered by the troops of Dimitri or Claude's armies).ūüôĄ

What makes it the outrage even more silly is that your army literally does the same thing three chapters previously (a huge fire trap which absolutely can affect tiles your own allies are in).

Whats even weirder, is that I've ignored the wooden hill entirely on several runs and have instead focused on the left flank. And yet, I've seen troops from the eastern enemy army just sit on the hill turn after turn after defeating the opposition there, some taking constant damage as a result. Yes, you have the high ground you evil Lions/Deers, but is¬†Little Round Top strategically essential when it is on fire?ūü§®

Honestly the thing with the burning hillside for me is that it can happen even if you don't even go there? I remember just walking past it in a recent playthrough and she still put it ablaze.

Quick question - I am now Chapter 17 or 18 in the game. I forgot to reclass my dancer when she first won the cup. Is it too late? Do I do it through classifications or is it a different process?

If they succeeded in winning the cup you simply will have to go to the reclass menu. To do this press X to open the journel, go to inventory and select reclass.

A yellow unit stepping there causes her to trigger the fire trap immediately.

Let's be honest, though - Edelgard didn't light up the central hill to injure the Kingdom Army, nor the Alliance forces.

She did it to activate Bernadetta's personal skill.

LOL

El redeemed. Move aside my boi Claude, we have the real master tactician here.

People reeeee when you mention the Remire chapter as a quick place to activate her personal. But when Edelgard does it, it's A-okay. I see how it is.

Except the fire trap won't affect the ballista space at the center.

Question: I don't usually play NG+ but how does Sothis Sheild work? I know you scan an FE amibo but how do you unlock it?

Maybe that's why she doesn't react. She knows it won't affect her.

Thank you! That was the clearest explanation I have seen. I kept trying to do it through certifications and was getting mad. Now...5-6 chapters later I finally have my dancer.

It means there's an extra conversation, referred to as "whatever letter"+.

So effectively it's like an S support without being an actual S support; interesting.

Thank you!

Some supports have more than one part to them, and it's not necessarily restricted to A supports.  I think Hubert/Bernadetta have a C+.

I didn't want to create a new topic, I hope this is the right place to ask.

How does the maddening difficulty change the game? On my first playthrough I chose hard/classic and overall the game was on the easy side. I'd like to have more of a challenge, but I don't want anything like Awakening lunatic (My units didn't feel strong and impactful there, didn't enjoy that mode at all).

Can someone explain to me how characters are auto-leveled when you recruit them later? I have heard that the auto-leveling is better than leveling them yourself which is why you should recruit some characters at the latest point possible. Is there some data for this?

The most notable changes are:

More enemies.

Higher enemy stats (I think resultant from higher levels, but don't quote me).

Significantly reduced EXP gain (think it's 50% of Hard Mode, without accounting for statue boosts).

Reduced skill exp gain from weekly lessons (but not instructing).

New skills universally added to certain enemy classes (Poison Strike on Archers, Pass on Thieves).

So how is it? Well... pretty challenging, to be honest. I hardly used Divine Pulse on my Normal and Hard playthroughs, but I often found myself running low on them in Maddening. New Game + can be a hugely helpful crutch, particularly through immediate statue boosts and early boosts to professor level. With NG+, I've found Maddening less difficult, and more enjoyable, than Awakening Lunatic (which I gave tried, but never beaten).

I would say, try out Maddening NG+, and if it's too challenging or unenjoyable, down-shift the difficulty to Hard. Good luck!

When characters auto level they level average stats based upon their growths + class enemy growth rates,

For example Casper has a 45% Strength growth and a base of 9. His first 4 levels have no growth boosts so he gains 1.8 strength, or since it rounds up, 2 points of strength. Then he moves into Fighter, boosting his Strength Growth to 55% since the enemy fighter class has a 10% increase in Strength Growth. In his 5 levels in this class he will gain 2.75 strength, or 3 points rounded. This means that when you recruit him (for Level 10 i believe it's Chapter 5) he will have 14 Strength before class modifiers.

Some of the Faculty Units however are always in their starting class, so all of Catherine's auto levels will have the SM growths, while all of Cyril's will have no growth boosts.

Do you gain the same skill amount from enemies? My byleth didn't even get a single S Skill on hard, imo it takes pretty long.

You gain the same amount of class exp and weapon exp, however due to the increased enemy stats and density you will experience much more combat, and as such you will probably reach S ranks on people specialising in one weapon type.

I know that when you recruit a unit on a specific chapter, you get them at a specific level. What are the lowest and highest levels you can recruit your units?

Also, does Cyril's aptitude works as he auto-levels?
