  1. I hope Quickened Pulse is the 50k or whatever high points reward for the next trials in July because screw that noise. I'll be able to lower the bar by stopping with whatever is below it. It was awful playing the dang mode to try and get it. And what's worse is that I generally don't use seals unless I have to for GHBs and singleplayer maps! They're kind of useless to me since arena is basically, "Gee, I wonder if my dumb team made of up bonus units can work?" Ugh... what... what if Veronica is a mini-boss? What.. what if she shows up alongside Bruno/Loki/whoeveryouare on the last map? I can deal with him, but Veronica too? Aw dammit, the new units will be there too! Another Karel, another Tharja, a red Frederick, and Roderick. Kill me now.
  2. It's probably a callback to Awakening's Summer Scramble DLC where Chrom, Cordelia, Gaius, and Tharja appeared wearing swimsuits -- Gaius is wearing the same swim trunks from the DLC. Lucina technically also has a swimsuit outfit, but it's through concept art or something, but she's had 2 other versions of her already. Chrom and Cordelia already appeared in different costumes already and Tharja is possibly confirmed for a holidays one, so that leaves Gaius. I guess you could say that Frederick took over for Chrom and F!Robin and Tiki for Cordelia and Tharja. The funny thing is that if swimsuit Gaius shows up with the exact same stats as normal Gaius -- I would not be surprised since bride Cordelia is basically normal Cordelia, but with lower BST --, he'd be a bulkier Setsuna. Gaius essentially trades 4 resistance for more HP and has an additional point to HP since he has 148 BST to Setsuna's 147. That evens out his bulk against magic while improving his bulk against physical units. In terms of offense, 1 more base attack for 1 less base speed. A +Atk Gaius as an archer would be around -Atk bride Cordelia and +Spd Takumi's level as a Brave Bow archer. Of course, neutral bride Cordelia and +Atk Takumi would kick his butt. Anyway, greens kind of need more units in general even if they're limited, so another axe user being Tiki isn't that bad. And yay, F!Robin is finally summonable! Those poor sea animals, though...
  3. Oh, cool, so she's a squid too. I kind of want a more defensive Selena or one who's defensive by being a hard check against greens while also going along with my stupid and desperate idea of using L&D3 to have at least another unit besides Lucina to counter Veronica. Yes, yes, G Tomebreaker Sophia or whatever red mage is cheaper along with getting Athena or Lon'qu, masked Lucina, or Lloyd up to speed, but it's me, the guy with no other red mages besides Raigh and Sophia, and I've given up hope on getting a red mage through summoning. -Def with L&D3 drops her down to 24 defense and 23 resistance. That's basically a less bulkier Navarre in terms of HP. Ruby Sword would patch things up since I intend for her to be an anti-green units, but with melee units who have high attack are still going to take a chunk of her HP for someone with a gem weapon. Still overall bulky, though. 37 HP, 40 Spd, 24 Def, and 23 Res. You'd need to do 61 physical or 60 magical to kill her and you'd need to have 45 speed to double her. Maybe I should go with the +Spd, -Res Selena I have lying around. Current Selena is +Def, -HP which with L&D3, would mean she'd have to take 64 physical or 57 magical as a 5* to die. +Spd, -Res would need to take 64 physical or 56 magical to die, but has the added bonus that you need to have at least 48 speed to double her. Sucks that her resistance would be more meh, especially when the reason I'm considering this build is to fight a green mage. BLARGH. Red mage GHB can't come any sooner. *cue red mage unit having 20 attack and 16 speed*
  4. Wouldn't that be highly flammable because of the feathers? Part of me also feels like a chuunibyou Celica, Lilina, or Sanaki would basically be Megumin from Konosuba. Exploding fire or dropping a giant fireball on people. Yep... Needs a bigger AoE, but that can be worked on. I wished I had a +Atk Selena. Oh, wait, she's -Def. Nah, gotta have my tanky tsundere.
  5. Now I'm wondering what a chuunibyou Celica would be like. Pray tell, what would you do with a pillow of feathers?
  6. Wait... Nowi says Alfonse and Sharena's names? *goes to check* Yep, she sure does. Mae says Boey's name in Heroes and probably in Echoes which is where Catria, Est, and Palla's names are said as well. I always thought Palla was pronounced like Paula not "pal-la". I bet Gumshoe would be good friends with Palla. Alm and Celica mention each other, Boey mentions Mae, Clair mentions Alm and Mathilda, and of course, Faye talks about Alm all the time. Anyway, Spring Camilla says Corrin and Xander's name, Eirika says Ephraim's name if she dies in combat -- apparently it's pronounced like "ay-fraam" instead of "eff-fraam" --, Frederick says Chrom's name, Jakob talks about Corrin, Lachesis says Eldigan's name both as part of her poke quotes and if she dies in combat, Linde says her father's name. Reinhardt says Olwen's name, Soren mentions Ike, adult Tiki mentions Mar-Mar, and following Camilla and Xander saying their retainers' names, Elise, Hinoka, Leo, Ryoma, Sakura, and Takumi do that too while their retainers say their lord or lady's name e.g. Laslow saying Xander's name. Oh, and in case you didn't know how to pronounce legion, Legion is there for youses. :p Anyway, those are the ones I distinctly remember hearing or seeing/checking on the quotes page, so, there's probably more. Seriously, it sometimes gets annoying hearing Jakob say Corrin this, Corrin that and Soren should just confess to Ike, but it's cute to hear Tiki say Mar-Mar. Miloah sounds so cool for some reason.
  7. The sudden realization that +Spd 3* Nino has 35 speed is quite hilarious. Leveling her up and when I checked her speed at around level 37, she had 34 speed. I had to do a double take. Got her to level 40, so she's a 4* now; 4* Nino has 37 speed. What is this sweet summer child? It's great having her back again.
  8. Two options to go about checking what a unit's boon and bane are. 1. If they're level 1, you can use this: http://feheroes.gamepedia.com/Stats_Calculator, or go to their character page on the site and check their stats as if they're level 1 or level 40. Remember to take out or off their weapons and skill like Fury so it doesn't seem like your character's stats doesn't match at all. 2. If they're at least level 20 and not a 5*, go to Unlock Potential, and check what their starting stats would when you promote them. Use the calculator or go to their character page to check. For Rebecca being your best archer, do you still have Virion? Virion's a pretty decent archer in spite of his atrocious resistance. Also, if you've played when he was available through quests, Niles is pretty decent for mage fighting where his only problem is he'd be a 3* or 4* if you used and promoted him to your Rebecca's 5*. Anyway, if she is the next GHB unit, Clarisse would also be a good archer. She can't have boons or banes because she's a GHB unit, but she's essentially Klein without his amazing skill set, almost a +Atk Rebecca -- off by 1 attack --, or a faster Virion with lower HP for more resistance. For the record, =Atk Klein is a really good unit considering his offensive stats and skill set. +Atk is better, but he still has good coverage. If you have someone who can give Brave Bow(+) and Death Blow 3, you could make a Klein out of Clarisse or just play on her default strengths and make her a debuff archer. Don't sweat it with not getting good archers. I didn't get a different, non-Virion archer until my 21st summon where a Niles showed up only to have Niles become available through a quest like a week after and the archers that showed up after him were -Atk Rebecca and Setsuna, -Spd Setsuna, neutral Setsuna, +Spd, -Def Gordin, -Atk Gordin, and a -Spd Jeorge after bride Cordelia's banner ended -- yeah, screw you too, game. My second best archer in terms of pure offense is probably +Spd, -Def Gordin which is literally Virion if he had a Brave Bow and Attack +3, so, in a way, Virion is still my only good archer. I'm also sitting here with only Raigh and Sophia, everyone's starting red mages, after 40-some summons as my only red mages. I'm lucky I summoned a random Lucina from way back in the beginning of the game since if I didn't I wouldn't have had a reliable means to deal with Veronica in the recent Tempest Trials. Looking at it now, not having a different archer, but Virion was probably better than not having a different red mage, especially when one of the main antagonists of Heroes' story is a green mage with high defense. Then again, Lunatic Veronica in the trials doubles and kills Lilina, Raigh, Sophia, and Henry if he didn't have G Tomebreaker... Anyway, I digress.
  9. First off, for future reference, take out weapon and any stat boosting A-skill when talking about a character's max stats. Second off, your Rebecca is +HP, -Atk. Dropping Silver Bow+, a 13 MT weapon, puts her at 25 base attack which is lower than her 29 neutral attack and 41 HP is higher than her neutral 37 HP. -Atk is generally the worst thing for any unit outside of specific cases like healers who were never meant to be used for offense ever. Some units can get away with it, but in the case of archers, none of them can get away with it except for bride Cordelia because -Atk only put her on par with Takumi, the second-best archer in the game which is still crippling when you consider that =Atk bride Cordelia is a monster of an archer. When it comes to archers, it's mostly you kill stuff, you're a mage counter, or you just exist. For the former, it's only bride Cordelia and then +Atk Jeorge, +Atk Klein, and +Atk Takumi. For the latter, it's everyone, but Faye, Niles, and Rebecca. Yes, this includes +Atk Setsuna is still too weak and definitely not as good as bride Cordelia who starts out with 35 attack and speed. Faye, Niles, and Rebecca have the distinction of having good resistance compared to the other archers and not needing a really expensive skill, Close Counter from Takumi, to work as a melee counter which Gordin and Virion do well, except Takumi exists and you could have used a melee unit to do that in the beginning, so... Anyway, Niles is the least expensive and probably the safest option since his resistance is really high and his speed is also high, but his attack is low, so you'd need a +Atk one to do get the most results. Rebecca is more balanced, but she has the lowest resistance of the three which is offset by having the same speed as Niles and slightly lower attack than Faye. Faye by default hits the hardest, but she's the slowest archer tied with Gordin, so while her resistance is higher than Rebecca, the fact she will be doubled by some mages can get her killed. All you need is a Killer Bow+, Iceberg, Fury 3, and Quick Riposte 2 or 3 if you can get that which Niles has half by default. I think Distant Def can work too, but you would sacrifice 3 attack and 3 speed and a really good and rare red mage for more 3 more defense and resistance and no recoil damage. The main issues with this build is that it's only against default mages and the reliance on Quick Riposte. -blade tome mages and T-Adept and -raven tome mages will probably wreck them. In regards to Quick Riposte, it's a good skill, but once you drop out of its strict threshold -- Fury's recoil not helping here --, then you can lose out on wins, especially if you're using Faye because of her low speed. Might not matter for arena, but if you brought them with you on something like a defense map or trials, then you would need defense tiles or a healer to make sure they can keep their HP in QR's range. Now, in regards to your Rebecca, -Atk means she has a =Atk Niles's 25 neutral attack, but without his 7 more resistance. She has higher defense by default, but it's kind of crappy. If anything, if you really want to use Rebecca, use this Rebecca to get skills and merge her with at least a =Atk Rebecca you'll eventually get in the future. Er... tagging @DehNutCase, since that's who I remember talking about mage counter Niles and who could have more advice on that.
  10. Heh, Hector's Angels. If only there was a unit in Fire Emblem named Charlie.
  11. Could Chrom (47/37/25/31/17) count too? Slightly higher attack and slightly lower resistance, but pretty much the same everything else. I hope one day they give a completely unrelated character the exact same stats as someone else. Bonus points if they're the same color and unit type. Even more bonus points if they share a skill or three excluding tier 1 and 2 weapons.
  12. Wouldn't it make more sense for it to have the same effect as Binding Blade and Naga's +2 Def/Res when attacked which would kind of resemble its +3 to defense and resistance when equipped in it home games? The weird thing is what would its MT would be. We don't have a legendary Brave Bow or a legendary melee Brave, but bows and tomes share the same MT cap for "silver" and legendary weapons. So, if Brave Bow+ is 7 MT and Dire Thunder is 9 MT, a legendary Brave Bow would have 9 MT, so, 2 more MT. If we do that to melee Brave weapons, then Amiti could have 10 MT as a melee Brave weapon+ has 8 MT. Or, probably going to be the case, it could have its 9 MT from Path of Radiance -- RD's 15 MT would be hella busted if Elincia's attack is remotely high in Heroes. 9 or 10 MT for a legendary Brave Sword would still be good regardless. If Elincia has 35 speed, she would only need 33 or 34 attack to be a red Cordelia because of Amiti's slightly higher MT. Most of the Brave weapon units have +30 attack with the exception of Olwen and most except for Gordin, Luke, and Reinhardt, have +30 speed too. So, she could be a usual Brave unit. Also, if Amiti's effect is +2 Def/Res when attacked and you run a regular L&D3 build on her, she technically would have L&D1's defense and resistance penalties on enemy phase which might not really matter, but could count. I'm not sure if they would make her a regular Brave unit if they base her appearance in PoR who apparently has a much lower strength growth than in RD which could end up making her like Olwen. Problem is where would you dump the stats in and Caeda whose stat spreads would conflict if Elincia ends up with low attack, but high speed and high resistance.
  13. Hmm... I guess I'm on team Lissa and er... Lachesis? I don't have Elise, Priscilla, or Sakura and I never played Binding Blade, Shadow Dragon, or the Tellius games, so Clarine, Maria, and Mist are kind of just there. Have played Blazing Sword, but of the healers, it's Serra all day, every day. Lachesis is at least funny in a way where her art makes her look really young, but her voice tells you she isn't. Helps that she sounds quite sassy. Anyway, isn't Lachesis the oldest of the group? Her quotes seem like this is a Lachesis after Eldigan's death which could also mean she's a mom by now which technically, Lissa's a mom too... Somehow this made its way into my head and it was a unit with a "bad" stat spread. 42 HP, 10 Atk, 35 Spd, 35 Def, and 35 Res. Adjust for different units like 10 less for ranged units or 11 more for knights. Probably not that all useful, but I think a healer with that kind of spread, so something like 42 HP, 10 Atk, 35 Spd, 30 Def, and 30 Res, could be useful since they would be dumping all their attack for durability to the point where you could even use them as an extra meat shield. You could slap Fortress Def on them and hope to get a -Atk, +HP, +Res, or +Spd one for even more durability. The hilarious part is they would only have 4 base attack if they were -Atk and had Fortress Def, but who cares! You have a healer with at least 42 HP, 35 Spd, 40 Def, and 30 Res and if you want damage, slap Pain on them. I questioned if there was an existing unit that could have these stats and funny enough I think there is: Renault. Mercenaries and Heroes have balanced stats, Renault was one, and like Azama, his magic sucks too. Also, a knight with a stat spread like this could be a massive troll, especially on the trials where units have boosted stats. To add insult to injury, this unit has Wary Fighter by default. Speaking of which, let's tank their speed then for more bulk! I don't know if this is legal, but 62 HP, 10 Atk, 16 Spd, 40 Def, and 40 Res.
  14. Oh hey, it's the map that brought me back to this unused account a couple months ago. Mkv uploaded a variation of her second strategy using 4* Michalis, but with 3* Michalis and Cecilia this time since Sophia destroys Lunatic Michalis in 2 hits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzJUylcLRpw. nystyler has one strategy with 4* Alfonse, Michalis, Olivia, and Ursula that covers both Alfonse and Michalis's quests, so you just have to repeat the GHB two times for Alfonse and Michalis's requirements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6t-87Bf_kY. In her video description is a link to Brotel's strategy using 5* Alfonse, 4* Camus and Michalis, and 3* Olivia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGS1Sby7Z3o. Now that I think of it, I don't remember anyone recommending Ursula be used in the past. Maybe they did, but I don't remember. Maybe people didn't level her up, but by then she was available and skill inheritance was available with Ursula and Blarblade probably being considered a build that would be very potent. She just nukes the red cavalier and Michalis moves up to block the lance flyer from getting to her with Olivia's help. Also, a 3* Michalis can solo Lunatic 9-1 where a level 40 Michalis shows up alongside Camus and some mooks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPlM6YPk8IY.
  15. Why must you remind me of what I do not have? ;_; Selena is a very high maintenance girl. So, guess it's my fault for choosing her out of everyone else. :p
  16. OMG. Selena with a Ruby Sword+ and L&D3 is like the dumbest thing and I kind of want to do it. The best part? +Def Selena would still have decent enough defense for Bonfire, but Luna and Moonbow might better. Death to all greens! xD Also, this would be a somewhat, secondary safe way for me to deal with Veronica should she ever return with similar stats in a future trial or something because heck if I'll ever get a different red mage before a GHB one shows up. She'd take less damage than Lucina because of Ruby Sword to counter L&D3 giving her 30 base attack and 40 base speed at the cost of having 27 defense and 23 resistance. Apparently, she can't ORKO Lunatic Veronica regardless if Bonfire or Luna activates if Veronica is at full HP without an attack buff, but dancers exist, so... Meanwhile, +Atk Selena with Hone Attack 3 does 34x2 to Veronica. Question now is whether I would give her Guard or Renewal for her B-slot. It's stupidly expensive, but also stupidly hilarious. There are other units who might be better anti-greens or would be better users of Ruby Sword+ and L&D3, but it's just kind of funny that giving her L&D3 can basically make her Athena. Actually, yeah, she'd be Athena. If you took from Selena, 2 points of defense dropping it to 30 and 4 points of resistance dropping it to 24 and added it to attack, she'd have Athena's 31 attack and 24 resistance, and then took 3 points from her now remaining 30 defense dropping and added it to speed, she'd have Athena's 38 speed and 27 defense. The only difference is that Athena has 1 less HP. Huh, apparently Athena has 156 BST. She is the second melee infantry to have 156 BST since Bartre. Hmm, well, I guess giving Athena T-Adept 3 would make her this build of Selena, but with access to an amazing sword. Or giving her a Ruby Sword+ which might not be as great since Wo Dao+ would just be there... unused.
  17. And any ranged unit with Close Counter or a melee unit with Distant Counter if you're running Brash Assault on a ranged unit for some reason. Brash Assault states a unit can make a follow-up attack when at whatever HP threshold depending on what level of BA you have and attacking a foe that can counter. Close Counter lets ranged units counter attack against melee units. For example: Takumi. Well, that's what KageroChart says is happening and Brash Assault's description is implying. I don't have Seliph, but personally I'd keep Brash Assault since it's less expensive and less effort than going the route of Quick Ripose Seliph. The issue I see with running Quick Riposte is that most units would want a Killer weapon so they can activate Bonfire or Iceberg depending on the unit to activate it every round of combat. Well, if they can keep their HP high to do that. With axe and sword units, the presence of units with a legendary Killer weapon kind of makes it rough on them except for Sheena since all-armor teams running all Ward Armors can boost their damage output by a lot from Bonfire activating or even Iceberg with a +Res Sheena since she'd have 36 defense and resistance. Anyway, it still works, but Eldigan, Michalis, and even Minerva get more results because of their +5 attack lead from Mystletainn and Hauteclere. Swords unit have Wo Dao+ and Moonbow as an option, but Wo Dao is still a rare weapon to get. Checking KageroChart,
  18. I suppose, but it was interesting seeing that all the kid dragons have higher BST than the adult ones.
  19. Oh, yeah. 3* and 4* summon for a sleepy adult dragon while 5* gets you a sleep kid dragon. There's two Tikis like there's two Corrins and it gets confusing sometimes if it's not specified which one. At least F!Robin is a GHB unit, so I can't get confused about that.
  20. Today I learned that young Tiki has 163 BST which is apparently shared with Nowi and 1 point above Fae (and not a dragon, but can be a dragon's hubby, Donnel). F!Corrin and adult Tiki have infantry stats and Ninian has a dancer's BST. Incidentally, all the ones with high BST are kid dragons while ones with infantry and lower are adults or half-dragons. Hmm, if some kid dragon or whoever shows up as a dragon armor, how would that work out? 173 to 175 BST? Oh yeah, Amelia exists... Trainee/villager knight assuming they make her into a knight or she shows up as one eventually. Well... Also, just realized that along with knights we don't have a cavalier, flyer, or mage that is a trainee or villager yet. Ewan would fill in for a mage and that's pretty much it. I guess Franz could count for cavalier, but he's more of just the young cavalier than a trainee one. I can't think of one for a flyer other than ones who already exist because they're said to be trainees and they already exist in Heroes: Est, Florina, and Shanna. Maybe the child characters? Would kind of suck for Laslow and Selena, though, if their alternate selves show up with 162 BST. At least Selena's known to be something other than a mercenary and Odin can't get any worse. Laslow, though... Dancer Inigo with 154 BST. Still gets doubled, but beats the crap out of everything if needed. Ditto for Cordelia, Gaius, and Tharja. Imagine Caeldori showing up with Cordelia's attack and speed, but Subaki's bulk. The stupid thing is it's actually quite possible. Donnel has 4 to 5 BST over the usual 157 to 158 BST units. Subaki would only need 10 more attack to match Cordelia. Let's add 4 to Subaki's attack. So, Caeldori would have 29 attack now. Cordelia and Subaki share the same HP and speed, so those aren't getting touched. If you drop Subaki's defense by 3 and resistance by 2 to add to attack, she'd have 40 HP, 35 Atk, 35 Spd, 32 Def, and 20 Res. That's basically Donnel if he was much faster and had access to flyer buffs, but a bit more frail to magic. This would have been way more easier if I went with Faye's 6 to 7 more BST over the archers, but that would break everything when a flyer shows up with 164 BST and those kind of stats. Alternatively, 4 points could be split between Cordelia's attack and speed. 37/37 offenses, when? :p
  21. Isn't Genny like 15? Which Tiki? Adult Tiki has Bonfire and Lightning Breath apparently wants to go to young Tiki because of her higher speed and resistance. Young Tiki has Flametongue+ which apparently adult Tiki wants if you have a spare Hector to give Distant Counter to her from what I remember and er... Armored Blow and Breath of Life are cool?
  22. Multiple versions of Gilgamesh. Lachesis is the girl version while Odin is the "other" version. :p Everyone is quirky in the own special way, except Alpine who exists as an extension of a bench, thus, making him even less quirky then the pebbles Frederick picks up.
  23. Travels through time and space? Wields multiple weapons? Is quirky and has 3 syllables in her name? Is Lachesis the Gilgamesh of Fire Emblem? Anyway, bride Lyn is level 40. Yay, Tempest Trial runs...
  24. Don't Bow Knights in Fates have higher resistance than defense caps, though? I'm imagining basically Rebecca on horse. Bow Knights in Fates cap at what would be applicable to Heroes: 55 HP, 29 Str, 33 Spd, 27 Def, and 32 Res. Also, 25 Mag, but I don't see BK Selena being the one to introduce a bow that does magical damage instead of physical which would kind of suck considering -blade tomes and mounted mages exist. Selena's modifiers are -1 Str, +2 Spd, +1 Def, and -1 Skl which isn't applicable in Heroes. So, BK Selena in Fates would have 55 HP, 28 Str, 35 Spd, 28 Def, and 32 Res. Drop HP down to 35 and she's down to 158 BST. How hilarious, take off 1 point from attack, move 2 from it to HP, and swap her defense and resistance and you'd have Heroes Selena. Anyway, so, at least 10 more points have to go... Umm... I'm just going to haphazardly tear off 4 from defense, 6 from resistance, and take 2 from her attack to move to HP. 37 HP, 26 Atk, 35 Spd, 24 Def, and 26 Res. For comparison, Rebecca has 37 HP, 29 Atk, 34 Spd, 21 Def, and 28 Res. Yep, a weaker Rebecca on a horse or perhaps crappier Niles considering the much lower resistance. That's as a standalone unit. On a cavalry team, I don't think she'll fair as well either. One Hone Cavalry puts her up to 32 attack and 41 Spd while =Atk Rebecca being near Eirika or Ephraim with Hone Speed 3 would have 32 Atk and 37 Spd and =Atk Setsuna would have 31 Atk and 40 Spd. Then again, considering that bride Caeda, Spring Camilla, Spring Chrom, bunny Lucina, and Spring Xander have different stat spreads than their normal selves, it might be possible for a theoretical BK Selena to have different stats compared to regular, mercenary Selena. Bride Cordelia, Lyn, and possibly bride Charlotte have similar to the same stat spreads. Both Cordy's have 35/35 offensive stats, bride Lyn is just 3 points slower than regular Lyn, but has the same attack which doesn't really matter for most healers without Wrathful Staff, and I'd assume that when normal Charlotte its released, she'd have the same stat spread, but perhaps not the same stats themselves of a unit with high attack and HP, pretty high speed, and below-average to low defense and resistance. Who knows, they could do something hilariously stupid like BK Selena has 40 HP, 40 Atk, 25 Spd, 21 Def, and 23 Res.
