  1. I triggered Death Knight's retreat on turn one of the Golden Deer Fortress siege and had to chase him through the entire fort before even the Almyra cutscene happened. True hell.
  2. Also Ferdinand's rivalry flips the moment she proves she's better than him in their supports and even in story as Byleth's A support with him has him admit Edelgard is his superior for mobilizing the Empire for war. Thus Ferdinand's motivations move from proving he's superior to trying to curry favor from the one he respects above all. He's kind of innocent in a way.
  3. g)I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you never put your students into assignments (patrols, weeding, horse keeping) and thus never acquired forging materials? Otherwise you should have plenty to forge silver.
  4. A major part of Dimitry's character is the guilt for surviving, the guilt for his failure to save his kingdom, the guilt for failing to get revenge, and the guilt for essentially becoming what he did. A lot of the early part of Azure Moon is Dimitry actively acting out in such a way as to goad Byleth into killing him, seeing it as a way to atone.
  5. Nemesis doesn't move on Hard unless you attack him first. That or I somehow killed everyelite, the Agarthan mages, and moved all my units just outside his aggro without triggering his move phase. Sounds like OP is dying long before the elites are cleared so any report on Nemesis' stats are going to be the bloated stat line. Kill the Gremory elite and the swamp will disappear, take the bridge to aboid aggro from most of the units if you need to. There is no justifiable reason for any of your units to ever end their turn on the swamp unless they're a flyer and thus immune anyway. Split your army into two groups, the left to kill the Gremory, the right for the dark mage. Byleth and Claude are enough to take the center so long as you take care not to aggro too many enemies at once. Again what skills/abilities do your units have?
  6. There's a reason I forgive both, I find it tragic. Incidentally the Golden Deer players are mostly quiet on whether or not Dimitry and Edelgard are good or bad people, funny that the people with the strongest moral position are the least likely to flaunt it.
  7. I didn't mean to imply that revenge left his mind, only that he increasingly broadened what was considered "acting on revenge" possibly for his own fracturing sanity.
  8. Chapter 1 of Azure Moon is Dimitry literally challenging an army of Bandits on his own, its why he was there in the Monastery in the first place, he never planned on Byleth's help but made use of it as soon as it was available. If you question him on his suicidal vigilantism, he simply doesn't care whether or not he gets killed, so long as the "dead get their tribute." Thus you must realize that Dimitry's goal isn't quite "get revenge on Edelgard" but rather that act of "taking revenge." Thus even if it kills him fighting nobodies or just some imperial patrol, this is equivalent in priotirty to actually doing something that'd inconvenience Edelgard. The only time this changes is when he actually sees her in which case he will blindly charge her even if it gets him killed (such as in Golden Deer where he dies solely because he followed Edelgard's retreat and got ambushed by Imperial cavalry.)
  9. Since no one commented on it Hanneman and Manuela are canon traitors to the Church, joining Edelgard if you don't recruit them in the Azure Moon/Blue lions path. They appear as enemy units in Dimitry's paralogue.
  10. The stats tell you what they do if you hover over them, just push x on the stat screen.
  11. Honestly how many times would she actually have the information to buy that? The involvement of TWSITD is hidden form the Black Eagles for all of CF and in most routes it would look to Lys that Edelgard was benefiting off the suffering of her family.
  12. It's an accurate nickname. I mean that's what he did in the first timeskip cutscene, and the first mission following? Actually those soldiers were investigating reports of bandits in the monastery, they're reargard troops and thus not likely the ones causing mayham in the other two nations. They're as close to innocent as soldiers can get.
  13. I get its hard to imagine a world unlike our own but in the medieval context, its very likely they didn't choose to be soldiers but were conscripts under some officer, the officers themselves were likely from a family with military history and were most likely groomed to be soldiers. Furthermore once they were part of the army, they likely were never allowed to leave (in the case of officers) much like how joining the British empire's army in the colonial era was a lifetime commitment.
  14. I mean she should be able to win the map with just her lvl 38+ units. She could probably win with just Byleth and Claude if she's willing to be patient.
  15. Then why are you one a thread about her? I agree, Dimitry is justified because he suffers form the PTSD unlike Edelgard who was only tortured for years and watched her own family die horribly. because he did? The imperial troops didn't choose to start the war, most of Dimitry's killings were on the ground nobodies and Dimitry was known to take his time with them that he became known as the "one-eyed demon."
  16. I'm surprised, I don't recall anyone on forum noting the game for its difficulty? You're on normal right? Do a couple random missions until you get a monster hunt mission, break the beast's armor and you get the material for the relics. I usually end up with 30 or so by endgame. Looking at your stats, your units are are more or less in range of what I had, some higher, some lower so I can say its not really a stat issue.. Can you tell me what you've been doing with your units in the first 3 turns or so? I know I got my team wiped my first try, but that turned out to just be unlucky and I've beaten the map easily on hard classic every other time. What are the skill levels of your characters, what abilities do they have to work with and as others have said what battalions are equipped?
  17. You know, I did think of editing that in but... eh. I did feel if I did I'd lose all ability to claim being only half serious if someone quoted me.
  18. So I know others already commented on this, but could you give us some specific examples so we can actually judge your statement?
  19. Lys is also going to access her higher tier sells far sooner than anyone else, you can have her focus solely on faith and keep her reason in line just through combat so she'll be immediately useful before other mages even if she lacks late game utility beyond warp.
  20. Incidentally, since CF loses Flayne and BL get's exclusivity in Gilbert, they could have totally pulled the ol' switcheroo with having Sylvain join your army as the deathknight (replacing lost Flayne) and Gilbert being the replacement for a lost Sylvain. Just make him, you know, not shit.
  21. Even in Blue lions and of course Ferdinand always states that Edelgard was "obsessed" with Byleth.
  22. Well given he's one step away from being Punished!Dimitry in Crimson Flower...
  23. So some units have their stats in weird places, terrible or awkward growths, and just bad bases for the classes they're meant to specialize in. Sme of these units could be fixed if they just- Yep, go figure, they suck at training that skill too. So you spend the entire game raising that skill to get them in the class that'll fix their stats or make them half useful and now the game is over. So on NG+ you've got this nice pool of renown to buy those skills right back, let's say you've work yourself up quite the stockpile and are willing to spend. What (crappy) units improve drastically when you buy up the skills to certify them in classes they'd never realistically get in normal play but would fix their bases, growths, or just make them useful?
