  1. I'd prefer that simply because the game praising you comes off as condescending and the game praising its own characters makes it at the very least an informed ability.
  2. Basically this, while I'm ambivalent leaning towards antagonistic to the Avatar system, I still consider Byleth the least insufferable barring, like, Marc or something. Honestly Byleth's motivations make far more sense if you stop thinking he's doing what's best for Fodlan and think in more personal terms. With Verdant wind he is far more interested in saving Rhea possibly for answers or other reasons, than he is in stopping Edelgard and the available player choices reflect this: You can only choose "I don't want to kill Edelgard" or "can't we walk the same path" there is no "we must stop her for the best of Fodlan!" option, every option other than those is "we must save Rhea". Likewise your default responses are defensiveness of your students, like with the opening of Marriane's paralogue. So why join Dimitry? Your Byleth wants to save him, to help him regain his sanity because the majority of your choices there are simply "I miss the old dimitry" and one choice to say "let's go kill Edelgard in Enbarr" notably only in the route where you have a lord that desires nothing but that. I'll have to see how Byleth is on the church route, but so far his motivation tends to follow, "I must help my students" "I must save my students" "I will make my students dream come true" and "I will protect my students" which honestly makes sense since Byleth was an emotionless robot with no ties barring their father until he gained his students, they legitimately have no emotional attachment to anything except their students and the lord they chose.
  3. The only other thing I can think of is a progressive limiting of Battalions Infantry can use all kinds (as the battalions are following them cavalry can use only Cav or fliers (only ones that can keep up) Fliers still can use only fliers (no change) Naturally this would limit a number of the stronger battalions to infantry classes only (giving you a reason to keep Dimitry as his lord class, for example) Cav should have the greatest move but also the most limited by terrain (arguably infantry shouldn't be affected by forests, for example) allowing you to do things like reenact Agincourt against cav charges. fliers shouldn't get canto (they essentially have to land and take off to fight melee, unless they're using ranged attacks or fighting other airborne) otherwise they're a dragon or flying horse, they shouldn't have the aerial agility to just flip and fly away after an engagement, as opposed to a horse who can ride by, slash someone and ride on (essentially how I perceive lore canto working.) Eh, that's my justification at least. Basically in a game where you can change classes for no cost, there should be situations where its just not a good idea to use a class for certain maps.
  4. What effect on balance would simply dropping 2 pts of move and canto off fliers have on the game?
  5. Felix/Catherine explanation is simple really: The stars aligned and their crest purity was just higher than normal, more akin to the bloodline founder's. There really isn't any more to it other than the fact that original descendants likely had a higher chance of inheriting the blood (I believe this was mentioned.)
  6. Do you actually listen to yourself speak or are you intentionally this edgy? Either way its kind of hilarious but you sound like a teen outcast tbh. TBF we don't really know much of what Sothis actually was like sans amnesia barring the very brief moment we had with her before the soul merge, afterwards the amount of memories we actually received from her was left intentionally vague. From the perspective of the character Sothis certainly doesn't seem the Tyrant type (disliking seeing child soldiers, for one) but on the other hand this is effectively an "innocent" goddess rather than one who dealt with the Agarthan war (of which we would be unaware) and we only have Edelgard's story. By the time we hear it, we're with Edelgard regardless anyways. It's why I interpret the action as a personal alignment rather than an ideological one. "My student, right or wrong" as it were. I assumed it was TWSITD or Edelgard getting the western church as the bandit's replacements, the latter more since Edelgard is the one giving her Uncle the report and the DeathKnight is the one with the group before he is loaned to TWSITD.
  7. Let the first glance obvious token evil teammate be the evil antagonist guy... this is... like so revolutionary, for Fire Emblem, or... something. Why does everyone on this Forum either want to make Edelgard a flawless purely white goodie or literally Satan? I mean, she's already thematically Satan, if you go by some interpretations media has taken the latter. I don't know why, but as much as I do agree with the intent that the stroy could be improved, I've just not been sold on any changes actually suggested here on this site, arguably they'd make for a worse product.
  8. Just don't let Edelgard or Lys A-rank anyone else, barring that keep them together, barring that look on close allies, if they don't treat eachother as close allies (top three highest support) they probably won't get a paired ending.
  9. lol I basically accidentally stumbled through this order, it's the best.
  10. Every support that reaches A rank is a paired ending, there are numerous girl-girl and male-male paired endings, its only paired endings with Byleth that are guranteed to end up as explicitly romantic barring Alois and Gustave which stand as the only S ranks not to be romantic, apparently. This is another classic Fire Emblem, before every pairing needed a baby to pop out.
  11. You can give him all of them, and switch out whenever, they're items, not consumables.
  12. Spoiler about BL final Honestly I think the majority of the issues here would have been resolved if we could support non-route lords and have them support each other.
  13. Agreed, honestly I feel the GD Edelgard confrontation and end lacks something if you don't have any emotional investment for Edelgard. Blue lions at least can stand on its ow. Since you can borrow Dimitris investment.
  14. Hardest: Blue Lions because I stopped doing battles once I hit the war phase and wanted the get the last route done to avoid any spoilers on youtube algorithims. Too many mortal Savants and both 'lord' character Res was low 20 and 22. Jumped back to beginning of month and did 9 battles with just two lords and steamrollled the last map with them, giving them everyone else's relic items. 2. Black Eagles final mission, characters had bloated offensive stats but garbage defense (def and res) they could dodge tank with the rest of them but coudn't survive a hit (avg hp 30-38) final mission became an escort mission using Byleth and Edelgard and two healing adjutants, (healing focus and Byleth faith magic was my friend) fought Rhea with just hose two units after taking left side path, didn't do many battles because got impatient for plot. 3. Golden Deer for the easiest, Wyvern Lord Hilda OP, God-blessed statroll Raphael grappler, surprisingly middle of the pack Felix, Divine retribution Byleth, quirky support Claude (weakest of my lords), my church characters, Windsweep crit Sword of the Creator for easy win, defeat general maps are just route maps with different names right? Unknown: Black Eagles church
  15. It was a request so you're free to deny. The point being that saying she "could have said nothing" is neglecting that she's at war and actually need to care for morale.
  16. "I don't know" said Edelgard "it's the rage of the goddess just like Ailey!" Screamed her soldiers mass desertions sprang up amongst the imperials, morale plummeted and civil discord spread throughout her territories as the news spread, the knights resurged with vigor and met her armies head own, aided by the faithful. Former priests regained their faith and moved to strike down the apostate. Edelgard and Byleths corpses to the archbishop who smiled serenely knowing the goddess so this, her mother was ever at her side. an exaggeration to be sure, but can you please come up with a better reason than that if you're going to complain.
  17. Having done three routes, lysithea is the only one that can be recruited post tineskip, the other two must be recruited beforehand and then rerecruited. Cut content implies Annette and Felix might have left going off a YouTube video I watched "impossible fight conversations."
