  1. Make an American PSN account.

There's enough sites where you can buy PSN money from any region and send you the code over e-mail.

Well there's ways around that. Making a PSN account for a different region.

But then there's payment. They might not accept credit cards not from North America... just like I had to buy YEN PSN card to use my Japanese PSN account for Japanese game DLC.

Thanks. I hope it works somehow. Never ordered things in foreign online portals yet, so I am noob in this.

  2. So does anyone have recommendations from the list?

Games of the "Crash" and "Spyro" series, Plants vs Zombies are good. I never played Tokyo Jungle, but it seems to be good as well, if I read the comments in this thread. I only played "Escape of Monkey Island" for PC, which was extremly fun. But I cannot say, if "Tales of Monkey Island" is as fun as it.

  3. The thing is, you don't have to do that, and in fact it's not even a great strategy to use Frederick and Chrom early. Avatar is a better investment than either of them, because of Veteran and the ability to choose Asset/Flaw stats.

I just blew the dust off my 3DS, and ran through earlygame Lunatic+ quickly. I'm rusty, but took out Prologue in one shot, Ch. 1 in two (made a movement mistake), and now I'm on Ch. 2 with a level 10 +DEF/-SKL Avatar. All I have to do is get the Fred/Avatar pair to the fort (which is possible with one or two sacrifices), and that's a wrap for that one.

There is some luck component early on (hit rates, crits, Luna+ density etc) but it quickly falls by the wayside. It just requires a good approach. Lunatic+ is pretty straightforward about what it is: a challenge for experts.

Hmmm... it sounds really good. I think I did a mistake with my avatar, when I chosed speed instead of defense as his "strength" point.

  4. FE1(NES)&2 also had no ranges.

    Try Duel Guards.

Their your best friend against Luna+. It may be a luck based factor after all. -.-

Without reducing these enemies down (Which these enemies absolutely get these skills at random), or no Duel Guards, you have no hope to win.

Know what your really up against. Even Fire Emblem masters struggle to beat it!

    True. Never noticed yet.

    Great tip. Thx!

I don't know why people expect Lunatic+ to be some kind of happiness-flavored theme park. It is supposed to be the ultimate test for experts, and that's exactly what it is. If you want to create perfect eugenics pairs, make Donnel the king of your Army of Misfits, or mash START on Enemy Phase until you hit the end credits, that's what the other modes are for.

Lunatic+ is not "luck-based". The careful observer will note that all of the potential extra skills activate/work 100% of the time, and only the distribution is random. Once a chapter starts, the skills are what they are. The game board has been placed, and it's time to solve the puzzle. Few of the configurations are TRULY impossible, just really difficult, and things get easier as you go along and have more flexibility in terms of units.

I've noticed that people who have trouble with this mode, have at least one of these three things in common with each other:

    • A non-existent or busted strategy (i.e. long term plans)
    • Poor turn-by-turn tactics (i.e. knowing how to deal with Lunatic+ skills)
    • Inability to make sacrifices (i.e. using consumables, or allowing units to die)
Take for example, Chapter 2. If you planned ahead and over-leveled a +DEF Avatar in P/1, and use a sacrificial lamb to either 1) buy time or 2) get your Pair to a fort, Chapter 2 goes from "holy hell this is impossible" to "OK this is hard but I can make it through most of the time".

Lunatic+ is not perfect in terms of difficulty curve, but it's 90% of the way there, and generally a pretty good test of your prowess. It's not for everyone.

The main problem I have is that I have to expect on a dual attack of my partner unit or a unlucky critical hit by an enemy everytime. So more enemies can attack Frederick. That is the luckbased thing, I meant.

I send Frederick + Chrom to the fort. But it did not work. The enemies do too much damage to Freddy and the fighters with hawkeye are just a pain in the ass.

Thx for your advises, but like I said I will not contiue this lunatic+ at this point. Maybe if I got more time.

I think you’ll find you’re in the majority opinion, but a few of the people who have investigated Lunatic+ the most have a different opinion. (incidentally, I personally find it tedious too...)

EDIT: Also, I'm fairly certain most people don't like the movement range thingy in FE10. Just making you count doesn't add too, too much.

I think, I just have not the patience for this difficulty. Hobby strategists would read my topic with a shake of the head, which is absolutely understandable. Lunatic+ is possible to beat.

But it is kinda cheap for me that non promoted enemies got skills, which your own units cannot even get. I would even reject it, if the enemies had higher levels and spend much more experience. This is not the kind of challenge, I like.

  5. I have not played many FE parts and I have only beaten FE7-10 (FE9 hard; not maniac) on the highest difficulty yet. I tend to play FE11 on merciless soon.

Yesterday I started my first attempt on lunatic+ causal, although even lunatic was annoying for me.

I finished the prologue and chapter 1, so I stucked in chapter 2 "Shephards". The enemies with their luna+ wrecked Freddy up. After resetting around 20 times, I gave up and I am not going to continue it!

I hate the whole idea that you have to use a "Jagen" against enemies with broken stats and skills, which always activate. The stats of the enemies are ok for this difficulty (same like lunatic I believe) but their skills ruin the strategical part to my mind. This is almost complety luckbased and this is not what I expect for a FE game!

So I prefer the little but interesting feature in FE10 that the movement range of the enemies is disabled. This was fair and a great strategical feature, which should return at least as a menu option.

  6. I actually DIDNT survive part 4-3. After failing to many times I reset

This is the same fail tactic play through I mentioned erlyer

4-3 is pretty annoying without good flying units. For this chapter you really need one of the dragon lords or one other flying unit with the nullify scroll, which you can get in 2-Finale. A 3rd tier Jill is the best unit for this chapter because of her high speed, defense, luck and pretty decent resistance as a dragon lord. Naesala is excellent for this chapter too. He can kill most of the enemies except generals. But beware of snipers and warriors with crossbows. And you should bring a restore and physic staff to this chapter.

You should save in a different slot, if you have created your three groups for part 4. If the teams are not balanced, you can reset from this point.

  7. This is the topic for the pink cute and badass puffball and his friends!

The Kirby series exist over 20 years is probably behind Mario and Donkey Kong the third most important franchise of platformers. There´s no way not to like him! So he deserves an own thread on SF!

You can discuss about everything you want:

    - your favourite game in the series

    - your favourite power ability

    - your favourite "Dedede´s theme"

    - your favourite song

    - or maybe about the new Kirby game "Triple Deluxe", which will be released the 2th May in the US and the 16th May in the EU. I have watched a part of a LP and it looked great! It looks similar to KRTD, but with some new features. Especially the 3D effect is used very well. But I do not want to spoiler that much!

I live in the EU, so I ordered a JP import, because I cannot wait this long time.

  8. I think it may be the fact that English is not your native tongue and fault of a mistranslation, but Democrats do hold majority in the senate currently. Although you are pretty much correct that political gridlock is the biggest dampener on political progress and people are too concerned with their party's agenda to actually try and actually govern. I'm not a fan of how bipartisan the government seems to increasingly become with each election, with the divide ever widening, but the only way we can actually fix things for the most part, is get a moderate president with a favorable party majority in both houses without political stagnation from within the party, or a third party president, with the latter being highly unlikely with the polarization of political thought.

    Yes my bad.

The democrats have no majority in the House of Representitives.

The HoR and the Senat should be consolidate somehow or change their influence or function. Otherwise the stalmate will never stop, if the governing party has no majority in both. And the Democrats and Republicans are just want to get their own way. So the health care reform was not great at all. There are still around 40 millions of inhabitants, who are not medically insured. And about 17 billions debts! That is really sad.

  9. I have finished FE10 on hard mode last week. It was annoying in some parts, but very fun. Much more than FE13!

Now I am going to continue Bravely Default and starting to play Kirby Triple Deluxe and Tales of Vesperia (both JP-imports) soon, if both come to me.

  10. I am not from the U.S. , so I cannot say anything about the social situaion there.

But I think the main problem is the whole policy system in the U.S.

Every president is helpless until his party has no majority in the House of Representatives and in the Senate. And the Democrates have no majority in the House of Representives currently, which is a huge problem to legislste laws.

  11. The Tellius-series is my favourite in the whole FE series!

    Both games have fantastic gameplay:

Many tactical options (shove, take, drop, rescue), best use of the weapon triangle, magic weapon triangle is added, good skill system.

FE9 has better story and character development, is more balanced and has much better support conversations, but FE10 has better gameplay. Improved graphics, more chapters, more characters, epic cutscenes, skills are removable, more challenging difficulty, battle animations can be turned off, perfect bexp. system, better defense missions and that the moving range of enemies is removed on hard mode.

FE10 would be perfect, if only the support conversations would not be that pointless!
