It really is. I'm looking forward to going in blind on all three routes and then maximizing the characters the next time around. Some of you may know me, but most of you probably don't. I haven't been active on forums for a few years now. I'm flyingace24. A lot of people know me simply as Ace. I used to hack FE a lot, but I haven't touched that stuff in years nor have I really played FE. However, Amazon suggested that I preorder the new FE game a few days ago (which I honestly didn't even know was coming out), and I preordered it right on the spot. I miss FE, and I look forward to dusting off my 3DS and getting back into it. I know nothing about the new FE game other than what I looked up between the differences in the versions. If I don't know you, nice to meet you. If I do and you remember me, long time no see! I don't know how active I'll be, or if I'll even be active at all, but we shall see. It's completely up to Blackavar. I have no right to keep her from letting people use her work. Plus, I'm pretty much gone from the FE community (any online community in general actually). In addition, I did happen to make frames for Ishtar since Blackavar didn't make any. Feel free to use them if you desire. PS. This is a really old version and uses FE8 colors.

*blows of dust* This topic hasn't been used in over 3 years. Wow. Anyway, I haven't really done sprites or anything in a while, but here are some things I did recently. They are basic splices, but whatever. Any suggestions to improve? Not really a sprite, but this is something I did from scratch. [spoiler=Really Big]

From what I can see, it looks like it's because FEditor is using the very first color in the palette as the transparent color. Your first color in the palette is the hair, which is what is transparent. I could be wrong though. I haven't touched this stuff in a while. I suggest rearranging the palette and putting the transparent color first. Then see what happens.

I'm not gonna lie; I pretty much skimmed through this post. However, I read and took enough that I can wholeheartedly agree with your statement. All of us hackers had that full scale dream when we started, and as you stated, rarely have those dreams come to fruition. Just like you, I can point right at myself. In order to get something grand to be completed, a serious amount of planning needs to be done. I got through 16 chapters of the first version of Devourer of Worlds completed when I decided I didn't like how the story went. Then I started over... and then again... and then again until I am where I am now (which is no where lol). As a teacher, I understand that it is difficult to go straight to the big things right off the bat. Rarely can we do something grand on the first try. One way I like to teach concepts is by chunking a problem into smaller pieces or steps. Instead of mastering the entire thing at once, break the whole into pieces and master each piece, and then put it all together later. This strategy may not really apply to hacking though, but I'm sure most can catch my drift. I left the fandom pretty much three years ago. There were no complete full scale hacks. I come back, and it doesn't look like we have progressed much further unfortunately. I do believe, however, if this small scale approach was taken, then my statement would not hold true.

Thanks for some of the suggestions. The last few days I've been trying to do some FE9 sprites. I've got the splicing part down pretty well. I just have a hard time recoloring sometimes due to the methods I use (which are really basic). I will try those out when I have some time.

Oh man. I just looked at all 25 pages of this topic. I pretty much completely agree with Phoenix Saga. While a lot of them are splices and stuff, they do look really good. They are really nice and clean. It's crazy how many you have done. This is probably more suitable for a PM, but I would love to know what methods and strategies you use for recoloring as well as your custom shading. I apologize if you already mentioned it in the topic. 25 pages is a lot especially if one just skims the pictures.

@Agro: I do think I remember an Angelix. But man, FESS was WAY back when. I joined FESS back in 2006. All this forum nostalgia lol. And to be honest with you, I really don't want to go back to any sort of hacking. It was fun while I did it, but I don't really play games that much anymore. @shadowofchaos: I definitely know how your aunt feels. I also have the lowest of the low. The demographics of my classes are students that have been failing math for pretty much their whole lives. It's tough to get them to care. So far this year though, I've gotten five students to turn their academic careers around. I know it sounds like such a small number, but you have to again consider my students. Honestly it feels good just to have one, and as cliche as it sounds, that's really why I do what I do. But yeah... the headaches never end lol. @Lord Raven: I feel you man. It is a very tough job. There are some times when I ask myself why I chose to do this. This FESS connection is pretty cool though. I'm digging getting back in touch with the FE fandom again.

Hello Serenes Forest. I am flyingace24. Some people may know me (most likely older members and others around the fandom), but a lot of people may not. It has to be at least three years since I've been here (probably closer to four), and a lot has happened in between then. I am currently a high school math teacher (which probably makes me one of the older members here) and am loving every single day of it. There are plenty of students that drive me nuts and students I hate. But for every one of those students, there are fifteen more that make my job worthwhile. It is much more work than I would have ever imagined, but the end result is very satisfying. I used to sprite and hack FE, but I haven't touched that stuff for almost three years. I also do not ever plan on going back. Skimming through the topics here, hacking is still doing pretty well. It doesn't really look like there is anything new though compared to when I left (and there are still pretty much no complete hacks within those three years, though there are some that are close). Anyway, if you want to know something about me, just ask. I sort of missed being part of an online community, so I came back. I play Expert Guitar/Bass/Drums and Hard Vocals (sometimes Expert depending on the song). I like to call myself a Jack of All Trades yet a Master of None. I'm good at everything but not great. My best one is Guitar/Bass, since that's what I started on (have beaten every song I've tried: TTFaF, TDWDTG, Jordan, Caprici di Diablo, Satch Boogie, etc. though I can only 3 star those). I'm trying to get better at drums. I don't think I'll ever really get better at the Vocals than what I am now. I have pretty much all the games except for GH1, GH:VH, and Lego RB. As long as you don't suck on anything but the fast solo, One is pretty easily 5 starred. If you don't miss anything until the solo and after the solo it can be done. And now that you mention it, I have a hard time beating Mauvais Garcon. Odd since I can consistently beat TTFaF. I just think it's the odd strumming that messes me up. I have to rely on star power to get me through it.

Anyone got these on PS3? I've got GH3, GH:Metallica, GH:Smash Hits, RB2, and Beatles RB. I actually just got them for PS3 (I traded in all the Wii versions and got the PS3 ones), so I haven't unlocked all the songs for RB2 yet. If anyone wants to play with me, my PSN is flyingace24. As for my level, I'd say I'm pretty good, but not ridiculously good. I play sexpert guitar. There isn't a song I can't beat on guitar for any of the games. I've beaten TTFaF quite a few times (GH3 and GH:SH), and TDWDTG (The Devil Went Down to Georgia) once (that song is a beast) as well as all the Dragonforce DLC for GH3. I'm OK on drums. Usually hard and expert for the easier ones. Medium on vocals, unless I know the song, in which case I do sexpert. While we're discussing it, I personally didn't bother getting GHWT again. Nor do I plan on getting GH5 or GH:Van Halen. There were only about 7 or 8 songs that I actually enjoyed in GHWT, and 8 songs is not worth an entire game. I tried GH5 at my cousin's house. I have to say, I am not impressed with the setlist. It's just my personal opinion though. The vocals are indeed better, and the feature where we can choose any instrument is nice. Now I don't have to argue with my brother on who plays guitar or bass. Now we can both just play guitar (and I can prove that I am better lol). As for GH:VH, I just don't like Van Halen.

It is very weird that all these celebrities are dying this year. I wasn't too big a fan of him, but Ghost was a really good movie. That's really the only movie of his that stands out for me. I just hope Kanye West doesn't show up to Patrick Swayze's funeral and say, "I'll let you get back to your funeral in a minute...but Michael Jackson had the best death of the year. Just sayinnn." What a douchebag. Hope Kanye gets swine flu or something. Anyway, RIP Patrick.

I was debating whether to put this into the Sprites section or this one, so if this is in the wrong spot, I apologize. Please move if that is so. I was wondering if anyone had or knew where to find rips of the FE4 spells (specifically Narga, Loptous, Holsety, and Thor Hammer). To prevent any confusion, I am looking for the actual spells cast in battle, not the weapon icons. Thanks in advance.
