  1. Up taunt: "Oh crap." Humor as I know for a fact that I will most likely get owned in a PvP match.

Left taunt: "Is that legal?!" More humor, especially if it happens after a cheap kill or something happens that would leave anybody scratching their heads.

Right taunt: "m9(>_>)" After seeing something similar in Senran Kagura Burst, I had to use this for a "get at me" taunt.

    Down taunt: "Whoo!" Happy taunt.

  2. For some Nintendo games, content in newer games can be unlocked through various means that often involve having possession of older games, such as using the save data from the older game to unlock the content (such as the Olimar trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee needing save data from the first Pikmin game to unlock) or being able to outright transfer content from the older game to the newer game (such as what can be seen in the main series Pokemon games).

What do you guys think? To me, it could be possible that the DLC maps can see reuse with some adjustments alongside Spotpass content like legacy characters and bonus items.

  3. I remember participating in 8-player Smash at a gamers' club in college during SSB Wii U's release. It was indeed hilarious, especially on small stages like Yoshi's Island from Melee. Used Ganondorf and got 11 KOs even though I got 5th place at the end by using his Final Smash at the right place (had him positioned so he can go from one end of the stage to the other).

We also pulled an Omega stage with 8 Foxes. No items, 8 Foxes, Final Destination.

  4. Is there any difference between the 2 paint programs that are noteworthy? I'm thinking about going into digital drawing myself after seeing lots of cool fanart but unsure where to start even as I do some research. Currently, at the moment, I'm leaning towards Paint Tool Sai since it seems to not lag my computer unlike Clip Studio Paint, which is known to lag if other software programs are open and may have been responsible for crashing Google Chrome multiple times when I tried it. (I'm using the trial versions of the 2 paint programs).

Or should I go "**** this" and stick with GIMP?

I'd also like some advice on drawing tablets. Cintiq and other drawing tablets with graphics monitors seem cool but pricing is a major turnoff for me, so I'm most likely would be using regular drawing tablets. Any sort to recommend? I've heard quite a bit about the Wacom Intuos kind. Pricing, compatibility with the paint apps and functionality are my main concerns with tablets.

  5. Recently, using my copy of Pokemon X, I put together a Pokemon used specifically for capturing Pokemon:

    Pokemon: Smeargle

    Ability: Technician

    Hold Item: Silk Scarf

    Nature: Adamant (+Atk/-Sp. Atk)

    EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def

Moves: False Swipe/Hold Back, Spore, Soak, Gastro Acid

In my copy of Pokemon OR, the game in which I transferred this Smeargle to, Smeargle helped me secure Pokemon so easily -- Kyurem, Landorus and Giratina are each caught in 1 ball discounting the opening Quick Balls -- Dusk Ball for Kyurem and Ultra Balls for Landorus and Giratina.

False Swipe and Hold Back are identical moves and cannot directly KO the target, leaving the target at 1HP. 40 Base Power is pitiful, but STAB and Technician boost it to 90 Base Power, with Silk Scarf boosting it further to 99 Base Power.

Spore is obviously for putting target Pokemon to Sleep, optimizing the chances for a successful capture and has 100% accuracy. It also allows Smeargle to have free turns to spam False Swipe/Hold Back and can prolong the battle for possible uses of Timer Balls (and preventing the target from using Struggle quickly if the battle goes that long).

Soak is so useful in catching Pokemon. It turns the target into a pure Water-type Pokemon, which can potentially remove STAB from the target's moves, allowing Smeargle to survive hits better since Smeargle has poor base stats overall. However, the real bonuses are the following:

-Smeargle can deal neutral damage against Rock-type and Steel-type Pokemon, which would normally tank Smeargle's False Swipe/Hold Back.

-Ghost-type Pokemon, which are normally unaffected by Normal-type attacks, will be open to False Swipe/Hold Back once Soak is applied.

-Grass-type Pokemon, which are normally unaffected by powder moves like Spore, will be vulnerable to Spore once Soak is applied.

-Electric-type Pokemon, which cannot be paralyzed by default, can be paralyzed, in case you decide to use Thunder Wave or Glare to paralyze an Electric-type target once Soak is applied. By that same token, Ground-types, which cannot be affected by Thunder Wave, can be affected by that move once Soak is applied.

-As the target Pokemon turns into a Water-type Pokemon, you can use Net Balls over Ultra Balls -- Net Balls have a 3x modifier to catch rate when it is used for catching Water-type and Bug-type Pokemon, which is more effective than Ultra Balls' 2x modifier.

Gastro Acid shuts down the target's ability, which can be useful, albeit situational. This means that Smeargle can effectively give the finger to abilities that can normally give it trouble like Pressure, Storm Drain, Vital Spirit, Insomnia, Overcoat, Static, Flame Body, etc.

The nature and EV spread is primarily to maximize False Swipe/Hold Back damage and to allow Smeargle to take some hits. I didn't feel the need to invest in Speed since Smeargle's uninvested base 70 Speed is enough to outspeed plenty of Pokemon as long as it doesn't get paralyzed, especially at lv. 100. The setup is great for lategame/postgame.

What are your favorite setups for catching Pokemon? Post them here!

  6. Mega Rayquaza got banned from the Uber tier and got placed to the Anything Goes tier (a complete FFA; the only rule is the endless battle clause).

The only thing that I can think of that is cheaper is running hacked and illegal Pokemon

ie. Shedinja with Sturdy ability with Mind Reader, Sheer Cold, Recycle and Agility and holding a Lum Berry -- nothing short of being hit by Taunt and entry hazards and forcing it to use Struggle (PP stalled or Taunted) can shut it down.

  7. Well,I know for a fact that Adamant and Brave are attack boosting natures. And you could use it as a last-ditch effort with something like a choice band or whatever the one is that raises attack power.

Adamant, Brave, Lonely and Naughty are all Attack-boosting natures. And Selfdestruct and Explosion aren't as good as they used to be since before Gen. 5, the target's Defense gets cut in half during damage calculations, making Selfdestruct and Explosion have effective base powers of 400 and 500 respectively. Certainly not the case in Gen. 5 to the present.

And yes, the Choice Band is used to raise the holder's Attack stat by 1 stage but restricts the holder to using only 1 move.

  8. Today, I tried to search for Plusle in Omega Ruby, which is rather difficult since it can only be found in Horde Encounters in that game. However, the problem can be remedied by using Honey deliberately start a Horde battle. So, on Route 110, I kept spamming the Honey item hoping to encounter a horde with Plusle in it. In one of the attempts, I got a horde that has only Minun, but one of them is Shiny! (I did soon find a Plusle in a later horde encounter.)

Other Shiny Pokemon I have encountered are:

    -Gyarados in SoulSilver

    -Dwebble and Shelmet in White

  9. Also disappointed that you have to re-do Catching ray, battling Zinnia, then watch the whole scenes all over again to catch Deoxys that died the previous attempt. (I gave up at fifth try, critical RNG getting on my nerves.) AT LEAST LET US SAVE BEFORE ZINNIA BATTLE SO WE DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH RAY CATCHING BULLSHIT. (This was before that I knew you could have a good catch rating even at full health vs him oppsity-daisy)

Regarding Deoxys, if you defeat it or flee from it during the Delta episode, you do have a second chance -- you can rematch Deoxys at the top of Sky Pillar once you defeat the Elite Four once more after finishing the Delta episode.

  10. It's not a bug, serebii's info was just incomplete (it's been fixed since)

The lake spirits only appear at certain times of day (I know for Uxie, for example, you need to go between 8 and 9 PM)

Suicune and Raikou depends on the minutes of the hour; Suicune appears between :40 and :00 and Raikou appears between :00 and :20

    source

    Ah, just saw.

  11. Another caveat I have with Pokemon ORAS: it's rather glitchy. I'm having a hard time getting several post-story legendary Pokemon to appear even though I have met the requirements for going to the mirage spot and it's already been days since I last encountered some legendary Pokemon that is part of a trio.

    Non-Hoenn trio legendary Pokemon obtained:

Mesprit (can't get Uxie or Azelf to appear) [requires Pokemon with max Friendship to appear]

Suicune and Raikou (can't get Entei to appear) [requires Ho-oh or Lugia to appear]

The only legendary trio I have a complete set of are the Sacred Swordsmen (Virizion, Terrakion and Cobalion). [requires Pokemon with 510 total EVs]

  12. That is actually not true.

It's stored in your User Folder --> 3DS Powersaves like the user above shows.

One of your red slash marks on your windows user name looks like two red silhouettes frickle frackling.

My mistake. Was thinking that the saves are loaded into the cloud similarly to Powersaves and codes.

  13. You could also get PowerSaves which has a Save Backup function. Not sure if it exists for FEA but it should AFAICT

Yes, the 3DS Action Replay Powersaves device can create Save Backups if you have the physical copy of the game (it also has the option to automatically create a save backup every time you apply cheat code(s)) though the backups are stored in a cloud, not in your computer hard drive.

  14. I don't know what to think of her. However, her battle entrance animation makes her look demented. I honestly don't care too much for her themes (along with Wally's battle theme) since they don't really seem to fit in Pokemon or the character herself.

The main things I like about the Delta episode are: capturing Rayquaza and Deoxys (though Rayquaza is stupidly easy due to story requirement -- you can possibly catch it at full health with a Pokeball if you're willing to bother with that), the 4-trainer battle of you and Steven vs. Courtney and a Magma Grunt (in OR) which is reminiscent to that of the 4-trainer battle that takes place in Pokemon Emerald at the Space Center, and the cinematic in which Mega Rayquaza destroys the meteor -- the music, though sounding like some cheesy Japanese opening theme, reminds me of one of the Japanese opening themes from the main series Pokemon anime as well as that infamous Falcon Punch explosion scene from the F-Zero anime.

As you may have noticed, Zinnia doesn't stand out too much to me besides being this character who popped out from the backwater after only appearing in 2 cameos in the main story.

  15. I prefer Sumia over Olivia as Lucina's mother.

-Most of the options Lucina gets as Olivia's daughter are primarily physically oriented, making that +1 to Magic almost go to waste.

-Sumia gives Lucina better Skill and Speed modifiers than Olivia does.

-Lucina can go either physical or magical more freely as Sumia's daughter.

-Lucina has the option of running a tank-based skillset as Sumia's daughter.
