  1. I can settle for this. With NoAs track record the possibility of a full removal (Such as maniac mode in FE9 for example) was very real. Glad to see they attempted to keep something in. If this keeps everything minus the actual physical contact I think it ends up better since I always found that really weird, not to mention redundant.
  2. Oswin because I always found him one of the few usable armors. I have most fun using Barth though.
  3. Going by pure stats and power it is Loptyr and Naga from FE4 Going by effectiveness I always found "doubles as ranged" weapons (Javelin, Hand Axe, etc.) to be the most useful which is funny because they suck stat-wise. But it depends on the game in the end, for example in both of those are complete garbage in FE3/4.
  4. Base game is FE5 without a doubt, with difficulty modes factored a lot of the newer games have some pretty evil modes, but I haven't played FE13 so I can't comment on that.
  5. Shannon because of the absurdly overpowered Balmung. 30 attack, 90 hit, 3 weight, +10 skill, +20 speed. Only Alvis and Julius can end his fun unless the RNG god decides to be evil and make a bunch of lance users with 5% hit rate gang up and kill him.
  6. I don't get why Seth it getting a lot of votes, really anyone can solo the faceroll-fest that is Sacred Stones, I soloed "hard" mode using only Lute without EXP grinding in the map/tower. In battle Julius, Alter his stats to "fit" in another universe (So like in Radiant Dawn his stats would be in the 35-40 range instead of 25-30) and he can solo basically any game. The only opposition would be... Gharnef (But he also wouldn't deal any damage either) Julia (Obviously) This is under the assumption Loptyr is "blessed" (As Loptyr is a god himself) and can hit Ashnard, Black Knight, Dheginsea, Sephiran, and Ashea otherwise they would be immune. But for player characters probably Sigurd who can trash the entire generation solo and gets the OP as hell Tyrfing.
  7. FE1 (DD & SoL) Like: Interesting to see where it all started. Dislike: Slooooooooooooooooooooow gameplay. FE2 (Gaiden) Like: Very unique, surprisingly fun if you can get over the slow gameplay (Though it's MUCH better then FE1 pace-wise) Dislike: Magic costs HP FE3 (Mystery) Like: Has an unrefined feeling that makes it fun for me, plus I also love the book 2 maps. Dislike: Stats are very generic, everything caps at 20 and classes stats are kind of blurred. FE4 (Holy War) Like: Story by far, huge maps were also quite interesting. Dislike: Worst imbalance in the series, some classes are gods (Swordmaster, Sage) while others really lack (Warrior, High Priest), weapons are awful to, most weapon types have the same stats except weight, and since there is no con/build/etc. this game it really hurts axe and fire users. FE5 (Thracia) Like: Difficulty (Get's shot) Dislike: Difficulty... yes I know it doesn't make sense, I like the insane difficulty, but I am not fond of unfair 99.9% RNG reliant stuff. FE6 (Binding Blade) Like: Story path, going from Lycia to the Western Isles to Missur to Etruria to Ilia/Sacae to Bern was awesome imo, much like FE4. Dislike: Overall shitty character stats, but it's not as bad since the enemies are mediocre as well, I much prefer level ups that give like 6 things on average and badass enemies then shit level ups and mediocre enemies. FE7 (Blazing Blade) Like: 1st one I played like many, has the nostalgia tied to it, objectively I think it had one of the most balanced casts in the series, there were OP characters and sucky ones, but it was nowhere near as bad as the other games. Dislike: Felt very small scale, yeah I know you saved the world, but it felt more like a band of adventurers and not really an army since you didn't do military campaigns of any sort. FE8 (Sacred Stones) Like: Lute Dislike: Far too easy, even on "hard" mode. FE9 (PoR) Like: Maniac Mode (JP Version) Dislike: Laguz mechanics (Removal of maniac mode in NA version) FE10 (RD) Like: Separate stories that meet up, I found that an interesting concept. Dislike: Miciahs group lagging so far behind in EXP. FE11 (Shadow Dragon) Like: Class change, very interesting addition. Dislike: Gaiden chapters require KILLING YOUR OWN UNITS. FE12 (New Mystery) Like: Remake of my favorite Fire Emblem (3), improved the game in every way I can think of. Dislike: Characters are shallow. I have not played Awakening enough since I don't own a 3DS and have not played Fates so I can't comment.
  8. I was thinking about one of the patches mentioned earlier, more specifically the sword skills being used for any weapon type. They still have problems getting passed down, anyone know anything about that?
  9. Shadowman on Megaman 3, couldn't beat him without Game Genie until I was like 8.
  10. I kind of figured, but figured I would ask anyway. Why thank you! EDIT: Since I have been gone forever, has anyone found where Seliph's holy blood is yet? I looked through and individually changed every "06000000" string years back with nothing so it's not coded normally.
  11. Holy fuck Camus is back for his once a month post! A question, I remember playing a lot of Japanese hacks where legendary weapons could be bought/sold like normal weapons, would you know how to do that? Also of note, it was interesting in the hack characters with minor holy blood could use legendary weapons, but the bonus stats were reduced by 50% Also, I figured I should contribute to this as well. I have a custom holy character editor allowing you to make more holy bosses (Or hell, standard enemies), so for example you could give a boss like Shagarl minor Hezul blood to fit with the continuity and give him higher stats then the class stats and even custom skills, you get the idea. It uses blank space in the ROM somewhere around the middle (Can't be at the end, the character pointers don't like the end for whatever reason), all you need to do is fill out the sheet and then change the character's pointer to look at the new custom holy data. Going with Shagarl again, you would just change his pointer to the new holy version instead of the old generic version. I made the module myself, but credit goes to hanhnn for telling where the pointers were. EDIT: Seems the site doesn't like 7z files. EDIT2: Here is a list I made for myself, super incomplete, but you will see the pattern isntantly and should be able to follow it fine. 12. Actually it's Drew Pickles until idk when.
  13. I come back from another year long break and this thread still exists! Hurruh!
  14. Tiers are stupid, I said it. Regardless, most people's problem is she comes late and underleveled. You can promote her without much trouble, even in HHM, by the end of the side chapter you get after recruiting her it's just easier, and better for speed runs to ignore her.
  15. Thief AI s programmed to... Steal anything that can be stolen only if within range (They won't actively seek a unit to steal from). Open chests if they are available (They have keys/picks and their is an unoccupied chest tile) Open doors if they are within range or are in the way of chests. Flee the map from a predesignated escape tile if none of the above can be applied. There are a few minor exceptions of thieves using a "non-standard" thief AI. For example sometimes they use the brigand AI and will seek and destroy villages.
  16. I haven't gotten this on any of my fire emblem carts, but once in awhile I will get this on SNES games, generally shutting it off and turning it back on will fix it. Sadly most of the time it wipes save data.
  17. I'll go with Ninian sine the other two kind of annoyed me.
  18. One time I did a Lute only on hard mode to see if she was really as awesome as she thinks. I was not disappointed and I soloed the whole game with her. So really you should have no trouble at all.
  19. Promoted enemies as stated get hidden levels to simulate them once being unpromoted. In most games it's 10, although on higher difficulties it can be upwards of 20. In addition, each chapter on FE6 hard or FE7 HHM also gives additional levels across the board which is why even level 1 enemies have stat gains and why the stat gains vary from chapter to chapter (Like how Fir has higher hard mode bonuses then Rutger). On the highest end you have FE6 hard mode which can be upwards of 30 hidden levels (Base 20 + 10 global) or pathetic ones like Sacred Stones easy mode where promoted enemies get no levels at all and often times end up having lower stats then unpromoted ones around them. FE7 is hardcoded to ignore luck growth. Enemies have a luck growth, but the game ignores it resulting in all enemies having 0 luck, or in the case of hard mode bonuses for bosses (Who do have luck) a boost of +0 Character luck still applies as normal which is why bosses have luck and why (If hacked) generic enemies can have fixed luck.
  20. Idoun Veld, The Demon King, Julius, and the Fire Dragon are all rather pathetic, but nothing is as pathetic as Idoun. I have yet to fight Grima (No 3DS) EDIT: From a story perspective the fire dragon. I mean come on, it's a generic enemy, strong compared to the rest in the game yes, but it's not an actual character.
  21. I only ever do it if I get like 10+ in a single chapter.
  22. Meh, a lot of them seem forced to me. The one that is consistent is Jagen, a few others (Like Nabarl) are within games, but not every one like Jagen.
  23. Nothing beats a sealed FE5 with the little dragon and pegasus stuffed animals. The cheapest I ever saw was 50$ for a used cart only. It's the only one I don't have right now.
