  1. I just did the prologue (Doing another play through to check out my edits and adjust accordingly) and I didn't have that much trouble with it >.< although there is a few ways to handle it, you can always have Sigurd weaken them, Alec weaken them more (He has awareness so Wrath is negated) and then they should be low enough for most anyone to finish off. You will have to play around certain characters skills to succeed, skills are not just an "added bonus" like on the normal game. I didn't use save states, so it's definitely possible to do it. I'm at chapter 1 now and have started working on it again. Regardless, most of the holy blood edits are for enemies, I think Celice and Julia are the only one effected by my system, and because Celice* is hard-coded, it's normal meaning the cheat is optional. If enough people have an issue I can change it, but it would only effect Julius and Julia, one of which isn't playable... The following changes are... Ishtar has Tordo* + Fala (Fala from Hilda) Ishtor has Tordo + Fala (Fala from Hilda) Julius has Loptous* + Fala + Narga (Fala from Alvis, Narga from Diadora) Scorpio has Ulir (This was an error in the normal game) Hilda (Final Chapter) has Fala instead of Dain* (This was an error in the normal game) Celice has Baldo* + Narga + Loptous (Optional) Julia has Narga* + Fala (From Alvis) + Loptous (From Diadora) Currently my "system" is rather basic... Parent passes on their major blood to the dominant child, any other blood will be passed down, so... ~Alvis has a child with Aida. Cyas gets his major Fala blood and minor Loptous. Note Cyas isn't in my hack, just using him for the example. ~Alvis has twins with Diadora. Like most of the pairings, Julia gets the blood from his mother and Julius gets it from his father. Julia gets her major Narga blood from her mother and gets weak Fala blood from her father. She also gets weak Loptous blood because she already has a dominant blood type. ~Julius is not capable of receiving the major Fala blood because Cyas already stole it, and he only can get minor Narga from his mother because Alvis is the dominant parent from him, so he gets the Loptous blood from both causing him to create major Loptous. I think you get the idea : / Everything else is the same as normal. Actually here are some changes recently... The warriors (Including the bosses) all got a nerf in the prologue, although they will still be a formidable enemy and are not to be taken lightly. Kinbois and Gandolf got considerable nerfs, but even then they can still be rage inducing. I'm thinking of swapping ambush and awareness with Alec and Arden so Arden is a viable tank and a serious consideration for a father (As nobody ever picks him over Lex), thoughts on this? The difficulty I won't lie is probably a little easier now, seeing as I got some nice feedback, but fear not, it's still considerably harder then the normal game. I am reevaluating a few parts difficulty as I would rather this be more fun then save state abuse, but I also feel it should be frustrating on some parts. When I am done, I will create a quick second patch with some quick changes to make the game sadistic for the select few who enjoy that kind of cruelty.
  2. All the hero effect is, is a 100% continue rate. All of the Holsety users have continue, so basically now it's a 100% double instead of the 65% or so normally. Plus it's a little weaker, gives only half bonuses, has far fewer uses, and is pitted against stronger enemies. I don't think it's more OP. The only enemy exclusive weapon with critical is Thor's Hammer, all of the other ones are no different from your weapons. And that makes you think carefully on how to approach enemies with it. ~For all the holy blood questions... I believe the game devs wanted it to appear that way (2 bloods max), but if you screw around with the game to give the parents extra blood then they will pass it down as you might expect. If I gave Cuan and Ethlin... Ethlin: Baldo*, Dain, Holsety, Tordo, and Fala* Cuan: Noba*, Narga, Tordo, Hezul*, and Loptous Althenna would look like: Baldo, Dain, Noba*, Holsety, Tordo*, Fala, Hezul*, Narga, and Loptous Leaf would look like: Baldo*, Dain, Noba, Holsety, Tordo*, Fala*, Hezul, Narga, and Loptous That's how the blood works, the reason Celice is hard-coded is because of that, they didn't want him having 3 types (And seriously, would you choose Narga or Loptous blood to give the main hero?). My patch shows blood as if it were their heritage not the "bred-out" system in the normal game. ~Any further questions are welcome.
  3. Mostly this only happens in FE5 thanks to the wonderful RNG, and if one dies, I restart. Seriously, the heal spell can miss...
  4. Best: FE4 Mostly because it's long. Most final chapters are rather short and basic and consist of killing just the final boss and a few "Elite" guards, I enjoy the ones like FE1/3/11 and FE9 (And of course my vote, FE4) where it's a full chapter. Worst: FE8 Part 2 The part with Lyon is pretty typical and isn't too bad (Easy yes, but not bad). The part with the Demon King lasts one turn and is much more boring then FE6 which is also pathetic (At least Idoun has a story and better battle music). Also I nominate...
  5. The hero weapons were still 50 because their uses get eaten up like no tomorrow, but in my next edit the price of them is 20,000G sound fair? Glad you liked the Hannibal change as well, always wished there was a playable character like that (A surprise hopefully). As for the axe brothers, I felt they should have both been "knight" classes, someone of royal heritage (Bridget doesn't count as she didn't know) being a bandit class was kind of meh (If curious, Johan is a Axe Knight while Johalva is an Axe Armor). My only issue is I have no idea how to change characters hair color, I can change the palette, but for example, I couldn't make Sigurd have red hair unless I changed the "blue" palette which would effect everyone with blue hair. So Johalva's sprite is a little F'ed up palette wise. The elite ring was lowered since people who need it suck in the arena meaning they well likely have less gold, unless a lover or thief gives it to them obviously. 30,000G is still pricy, so I figured it was alright. And Blume is stronger, but not unbeatable. I personally had more of an issue with the mage sisters prior to him. Thor's Hammer normally looks like... Damage: 30 Hit: 90 Weight: 10 Bonus: Skill +20 Speed +10 Mine is... Damage: 32 Hit: 70 Weight: 5 (*Most* weapons have reduced rate in general) Bonus: Skill +10 Speed +5 Also each holy weapon has a special effect, Thor's Hammer has critical added to it. Tyrfing: Prayer Mistoltin: Critical Balmunk: x2 Attack Gaibolg: Life/Renewal Gungnir: HP Steal (Changing to x2 attack next patch) Swanchika: Uncounterable Ichival: Life/Renewal Fala Flame: Uncounterable Thor's Hammer: Critical Holsety: x2 Attack Narga: Negate Loptous Effect Loptous: Half Damage A few other changes. The Loptous Bloodline (Alvis, Diadora, Celice, Julius, Julia) is going to have continue instead of ambush. I figured this because Julia wouldn't have the OP ambush/wrath, and it's doubtful you would bother attacking Alvis and Julius without someone with awareness anyway (Save a select few who shall remain nameless currently). Only priests and high priests have charisma as a class skill now (And some enemy-only ones), only Lachesis and her children have it for a personal skill, still undecided if Laylea will have it. Which means you would have 3 for generation one (Eden, Claude, Lachesis) and potentially 4/5 for generation two (Nanna, Delmud, Corpule/Sharlow, Rana/Mana, and if I add it, Laylea if you kill off Sylvia in part 1). Also Celice's blood is hard-coded so I can't give him weak Loptous from his mother I'll add a cheat with patch notes to give him his Baldo*, Narga, Loptous and the player can choose to use it or not (Lopt blood gives I think +15% magic defense in my patch). Otherwise, many other characters have "correct" blood, so Julia has Loptous, Ishtar has Fala, Julius has Narga, etc.
  6. Some might know of my hard mode patch that increases the difficulty and balances some things out (Fire and axes are not complete garbage for example). I am revisiting it and would like any input from anyone who played it (Not a lot, but some have). If you haven't played it, tell me some things you think would make the game harder. Currently the patch is basically... Classes a a little more balanced. Weapons are a little more balanced. Holy blood bonuses are halved. Holy weapon stat bonuses are halved. Enemies generally have higher levels and promoted ones are more common. Holy bosses (Ishtar, Langobalt, Alvis, etc.) are more powerful. Player skills and classes have been changed a little to match the heritage system (This applies to enemies as well). Every weapon has pursuit for double attacking, but critical is still a skill (Due to luck not lowering it). More I am forgetting. Changes I am making next version... Charisma won't be as abundant. 1st generation growths increased slightly because I hate the level ups where nothing increases. To offset the above, enemy relative growth has increased from 30% to 40%. To help with the above, certain "super hard" enemies will have their level lowered so the stats balance out. Weapon stats are being changed *slightly*. Probably some more I am forgetting.
  7. Hard to say, but I'll give it for each game... (Skipping the NES as I have only done those 1 time each). FE3: Rapier (Only one if I recall) FE4: Holsety (30 attack, basically unlimited uses, +10 skill, +20 speed, 1-2 range, can potentially be used from the 1st chapter of generation 2) FE5: Repair, if not staves then Pugi FE6: Sword of Seals (The rapier was kind of shitty in this game) FE7: Wolf Biel (Mana Katti is close) FE8: Reginleaf FE9: Ragnell (Despite coming late) FE10: Amiti FE11: Wing Spear FE12: ^ Haven't done 13 yet.
  8. That so? I thought it shared the special effect with the mage stone.
  9. A name is a means of identification, as such I am not upset if someone, even a stranger, talks to me using my name.
  10. Uh FE10 Ike I guess, half the other ones would make me a pedo.
  11. I can think of about 20 other videos and images off the top of my head that are grosser... Which movie, is it new or that one from a few years ago (Not the blue people one)? I saw it, I personally didn't find it too bad. If it's a new one then I have no idea. EDIT: Then again I have subjected myself to some pretty terrible movies, so thinking about it, I guess it could be rather bad for your casual watcher.
  12. Oh the Sunlight Sword glitch in the arena, I seen that happen before (I have a video, but the fight is like 10 minutes long, so idk if anyone wanted to see it).
  13. Villain: Has their own battle theme, they tend to appear on maps before you fight them, they tend to have far more screen time then the boss, a lot of times they are harder then the boss. Examples: Gharnef, Alvis, Ledrick, Zephiel, Nergal, Lyon, and Black Knight. Boss: Boss of the game obviously, they don't tend to appear on maps nor talk a lot before the last chapter, they tend to be easier then the villains. Examples: Medeus, Doma (I think, FE2 one?), Julius, Beldo, Idoun, Fire Dragon, Demon King, Ashnard, Ashera. Probably forgot some... anyway which of each is your favorite? For me, the villain has got to be Zephiel, he seems like the most mediocre of the bunch, but he is a total badass and always seems to keep his cool, and Exaccus is one of the coolest weapons imo. As for the boss... probably Ashnard, most of the other bosses are rather lame in my opinion, but I always loved that he had no remorse or second thoughts about what he was doing, he had a badass mount and sword and he actually went out to battle instead of sitting on a throne or in a lair waiting for you to reach them. Medeus: Only other good one in my opinion. Doma: Played FE2 once, and in Japanese, so I have no idea wtf was going on. Julius: Puppet Beldo: Henchman Idoun: Sword of Seals says hi! Fire Dragon: Generic Demon King: Cheesy Ashera: Boring (At least the battle was more interesting then the others though)
  14. Surprised Sephiran has yet to be mentioned considering 90% of everything that happens in FE9 and FE10 all traces back to him. The Earth Dragonstone negates ALL magic in FE1 and FE11, in FE1 it also negated ranged attacks, I don't remember about 11, but I don't think it did. And I thought in the 1st it also ignored non-Falchion attacks, but I only played it once, so someone might of disproved that within the past few years. In FE3 Medeus just has 15 defense and resistance and the Loptous effect (Half attack before applying defenses).
  15. Amelia >>> Wendy FE8 is considerably easier then FE6. FE8 allows training via the tower. FE8 general class is better. Amelia has options besides general if you want. When I left Amelia was considered great, what has happened that she has become a piece of garbage since I returned?
  16. If you asked this question in 04 you would of gotten nearly all positive feedback. Anyway... I never did a play through with the English patch, but I did read the script and from what I can say the story is average and the characters, well... character, is lame for most of them. I think the sound track was rather nice and the difficulty was decent. Overall, not one of my favorites, but I didn't dislike it. As for the 3/4 units being garbage, FE7 was the first to change that (I guess FE4 is debatable), perhaps I got used to it, as all the newer ones every unit is usable (Some more then others of course).
  17. I decided to take it easy and do a normal mode run, but I don't think this has anything to do with it... So for some unknown reason I decide to steal the Bolting tome my last play-through so I was actually using Heather. This didn't occur on the chapter with the tome, but rather the later one where you are Ike's group defending the fort and the boss is a knight with a stealable energy drop. Heather was level 20 with 90-something EXP I had her steal the item and her EXP went up and looped to zero... but no class change. So I got her to level 20 with 90-something EXP again and battle saved (I was on the chapter where Elincia is an NP in the middle of the map) and tried it again to see if it was a one time event. Same thing happened again (So I reset and had her attack a guy to promote) I haven't dwelled in the Fire Emblem fandom for quite some time, so forgive me if this has already been discovered.
  18. I was bashing Jagen character stats, not usefulness (Which is very high in hard modes). I guess I put it wrong.
  19. I honestly just use her as my only cleric and by the time I need a 2nd staff user, one of my other mages has promoted. She comes early and her growths are... ugh... not the worst, at least compared to others. I don't do it often, but I'll have to give a... 10/10 EDIT: And as stated, warp and hammene. EDIT 2: Ugh I was on H5, saw it was H2, idk if you want to count it or not... EDIT 3: Should be noted "only cleric" means only actively used one, I use and drop others as I get them. I hope that's it...
  20. TLDR @ the bottom... Meh, I used her since I am OCD about having a user for each SS weapon, and she isn't nearly as bad as people act, at least not in comparison to the other sages.I think the biggest issue is that they made Thunder magic complete garbage in this game. I remember entering a "debate" topic on this site (Or was is FESS?) years back (FE9 days I think?) comparing her and Soren, although all the topic consisted of was people bashing her. Despite knowing the fact that she is overall inferior, I decided to defend her as I thought it might make a good debate... Boy I was right, I got all sorts of people worked up over it, got some PMs telling me I sucked and stuff like that (One from a guy that was asking for help on clearing hard mode a few days earlier no less). People will cling to characters they like and use any means possible to try and justify their use, other then the ones that are so blatantly inferior it's not even funny (Such as the various Jagen characters), and completely overlook "I use them because I like them", this was probably before your time, but in "Fire Emblem: the Sealed Sword" (Roy's game) there was an armor knight by the name of Wendy, so had a huge fanboi following and was often said to be the best armor knight in the GBA games which was far from the truth. But the point was most people liked her, and because of that to a casual/new player would play assuming she was some goddess of a character. My point? Use who you want, it makes the game more fun, while Ilayna isn't the best out there, she isn't complete garbage. Her stats are fine and she doesn't really take babying to level (Or at least I didn't think so), she is the only one with access to Rex Bolt, so make good use of it (aka wreck the dragons at the end of the game). TLDR: Ilayna isn't the best, but she doesn't suck, if you like her, then use her.
  21. Mastery skills are absurdly overpowered in this game though, couldn't of been *that* bad.
  22. Me voting wouldn't even be fair because I have never used her to the extent of other characters.
  23. 7/10 Jill is probably the best flyer when used, but Haar can accomplish what Jill can without much trouble on easier difficulties. Her score for me comes from maniac where she will wreck the overpowered enemies if given a forged axe, prior to promotion things can be a little rough, but she isn't too bad even before then (Unlike garbage units like Mist and Rolf, in my opinion anyway). I did a Titania solo on normal (Had to use the royal Laguz for Ashnard obviously) as well as an Ike solo on normal as well. Although I think Jill/Marcia is mandatory for maniac mode. At least if you want to get everything, if you don't care about villages and stuff then even then you could probably do it.
