  1. All right. I have no problem ditching Ike. With that, the first three units of my group would look something like this. Tiki (Y), Ninian, Hector. Now I have to decide if my second blue unit should be Ephraim, Nowi, or Reinhardt. The only other green units at 5* I have are Fae and a blade Cecilia.
  2. Hmm... I relied solely on Ike and Ephraim's high attack stat to dispose of frail blue mages. Both are also equipped with Quick Riposte. Against blue melee units, I use Ephraim as a physical wall, especially since he's +DEF, to withstand attacks and hoping for Bonfire to trigger, though this only works for so long. Would it be better to use Hector instead of Ephraim in this case? Although I would no longer have a clear answer to help Tiki versus Falchions, I believe Ike should able to hold his own against them?
  3. In the same team, I use Ike and Ephraim, though I sometimes switch out Ike for Ryoma.
  4. For Tiki (Y), would it be more beneficial for her to inherit Triangle Adept or Fury for her passive A skill? Is it team comp and/or build dependent? Mine has the +ATK/-RES nature; equipped with Lightning Breath, Quick Riposte, Reposition, and Bonfire; and is always run alongside Ninian with Fortify Dragons. This is for a non-Dragon Emblem team.
  5. For Horse Emblem, is it generally better to run a full cavalry team, or three cavalry units plus a dancer? I'm assuming the latter is better for defense? I use two different set-ups. Xander, Cecilia, Reinhardt, Camus Xander, Cecilia, Ninian, Camus My Xander runs Distant Defense, Quick Riposte, and Hone Cavalry as passives; Camus, meanwhile, is equipped with Fury, Vantage, and Goad Cavalry. Both are also using Swap and Bonfire, while Cecilia and Reinhardt have Draw Back and Moonbow.
  6. What do you guys think of a Fury/Renewal build for Camus? I know there are probably better options for him, but I think it is interesting to note his Gradivus has healing capabilities in his source games. With Renewal, it would look as though you are using that same Gradivus. Also, I think he'd make a good candidate for Bonfire, considering his fairly high defense stat.
  7. Eliwood: "Off with you, fiend!" Ephraim: "Wonderful!" Reinhardt: "Magic is everything!" Ryoma: "May your blood crust my blade!" Xander: "You're going home - in pieces!"
  8. Probably Ryoma (+ATK/-HP) from the Ike banner. The HP seal was used to offset the bane. With +ATK, he makes better use of Heavy Blade than Ike himself, unless Ike is also +ATK. If I gave him Aether and Swordbreaker instead of Astra and Vantage, respectively, you get "Ryoma, the Radiant Hero"!
  9. I would like to see more dragons, particularly Myrrh from Sacred Stones. If any of them come with new dragon-specific skills, like Hone Dragons, Dragon Emblem could really be a thing. ^-^
  10. Is there anyone else here who has more than one Ike? If so, did you merge or pass his skills onto another character? I have a spare Ike (+RES/-DEF) and a Ryoma (+ATK/-HP), both of which were drawn from Ike's banner. The Ike I am currently using is neutral. Would this Ryoma be a good candidate for Heavy Blade, or would I just end up creating a variant of Ike?
  11. Having more than enough orbs to burn through (200+), I decided to try my luck on summoning Ike, focusing solely on reds. Although I did manage to summon him, I was not content with his nature (+DEF/-SPD). From there, I continued to pull only from red stones hoping for another Ike, whose nature is not -ATK or -SPD. I ended up with neutral Ike, which I'm satisfied with due to the fact that I need not worry about being compromised of any stat, especially an important one like speed. I even managed to summon two of my most sought after reds for the longest time, Eldigan and Ryoma, while sniping for Ike; both of which also have pretty good natures of +DEF/-SPD and +ATK/-HP, respectively. ^-^
  12. For those using Ephraim, did any of you have him inherit Bonfire as a substitute for Moonbow? Mine has a +DEF nature; I figured with his already impressive defense stat he would be a viable candidate for it. Although it requires an additional turn to activate, I also had him inherit Quick Riposte 3 to somewhat offset that.
  13. I have high hopes for FE4 being the next potential Echoes installment. ^-^ Characters such as Seliph, Julia, and Eldigan have finally made their presence officially known in the west, thanks to Fire Emblem Heroes; it would make sense to keep momentum going. I'd also like to see FE5 remade sometime in the future. This would be an especially good opportunity to further expand on Leif's character and for him to make a proper worldwide appearance. During Melee's development, Leif was originally considered to be the next FE representative after Marth until Sakurai settled with Roy to promote the next entry at the time, FE6.
  14. On the subject of Eirika and skill inheritance, between Luna and Glimmer, which offensive special skill would she reap the most benefit from? I made a pull recently in hopes of summoning a hero whose skill set includes Luna, and I managed to draw a 4* Catria.
  15. For the longest time, I have considered using the following inheritance set-ups for my Ephraim and Eirika. Ephraim Type A Passive: Attack Plus, or Death Blow Type B Passive: Vantage, or Quick Riposte Assist: Rally Speed, Pivot, or Draw Back Justification: My Ephraim has a +DEF/-RES nature, and having even greater attack power would put him on the same level as an +ATK Ephraim, enabling him to KO more units in one turn, especially with Moonbow. His de-buffing skills are useful, but having two of them and not stacking is just superfluous. Between the two of them he has, while Seal Def will allow him to impose a maximum of -7, Threaten Def may be more useful overall due to baiting and can affect multiple foes at once. I can definitely see Ephraim making better use of more offensive passives like Vantage. If it is possible for Ephraim to inherit assist skills like Rally Speed, he would be of even more help to his allies by providing two different stat bonuses. Eirika Type A Passive: Speed Plus, Darting Blow, or Triangle Adept Special: Luna, Glimmer, or Moonbow Justification: Eirika may be respectably fast already, but it is possible for even faster units to double her, hence why a passive like Speed Plus could be helpful. I rarely ever use her offensively, but when I do it's normally to pick off green units and certain red units; equipping her with Triangle Adept would make dispatching of green units even easier. Since Eirika lacks a special skill I figure one with rather low cooldown, such as Luna, would work best, considering her speed. Unfortunately, I don't currently have any units with this skill to sacrifice, and to fish for units that have them, like Lucina or Catria, is going to be a major hassle, especially for a F2P like me. Advice or suggestions concerning this set-up would be most appreciated. ^-^
  16. Drew a 4* Marth (-HP/+ATK) while fishing for Eldigan. Not too disappointed as I now have a Falchion user. What are your thoughts? Is he worth using over Seliph? My current team consists of Ephraim (-RES/+DEF), Eirika (Neutral), Nino (-ATK/+SPD), and Seliph (-SPD/+HP).
  17. My Seliph is +HP/-SPD. At first, I thought this is the worst possible build for him to have, but then I remember his speed not being particularly great to begin with; I always pair him with Eirika to somewhat make up for this shortcoming. Even though HP is one of his stronger features, especially with his passive skill, more HP is always nice. I think +DEF would have been better, though. I'd say keep him. He actually has some niche uses as a support unit.
  18. 5* Ephraim (Lv. 22) 5* Eirika (Lv. 22) 2* Anna (Lv. 20) 4* Eliwood (Lv. 21) I plan to upgrade Eliwood to 5*, so that he would be able to use Durandal as well as any skills he has that are exclusive to that rarity. Meanwhile, Anna is serving mostly as a placeholder for future axe-wielders as I lack better ones at the moment; then again, I made barely any effort at all to summon any. ^-^
  19. I have yet to level up Ephraim but, from what I've heard, he has defense-busting capabilities via his skills, which I can imagine them being an asset when pitted against armored foes. The only negative I have been hearing about him is his low speed, but this seems to be offset by his strong attack and defense stats. I have used Eirika pretty extensively up to this point, on the other hand, and I can definitely say she is an amazing support character, thanks to her attack and speed buffing abilities via Sieglinde and skills, respectively, when your other units are placed next to her. She can hold her own fairly well as a frontline fighter, too. So far, she has always been able to attack twice in one turn due to her high speed stat. EDIT: Just started looking into Ephraim. His weapon has the same effect as Eirika's Sieglinde. If the effects stack, that would make them a formidable pair. No. Normally you have only a 3% chance of pulling a 5* character during a summon; however, if there are certain 5* characters featured on a banner (currently Family Bonds) there will be an additional 3% chance of pulling these characters. Once the banner changes, Seliph and the other featured characters will not disappear. Instead, they will become even more difficult to acquire. So, if you do not already have the characters you want from this banner, this will be the best time to try to summon them while their banner is still active. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. Just before I had to quit the game to attend classes, I had exactly 5 orbs left to use. I decided to try another summon before leaving, and, much to my surprise, I drew 5* Ephraim. It was shocking to me because I didn't think I was going to pull him in time before the Family Bonds theme expires. With this, I can finally pair him together with my 5* Eirika, as well as focusing my efforts on acquiring Ike once he becomes available. These are my only two 5* characters.
  21. So far, only Eirika, though I am very content as she is one of my most wanted. Hoping to add Ephraim in the near future. Now to focus my attention entirely on blue stones. ^-^
  22. Competitively, it's probably Marth. If I'm going by favorites, however, then Ike. I play Ike because I like the character and that I could not perform any better with the other FE characters. The main draw of his gameplay, for me, would definitely have to be fact that his effectiveness depends largely on the player's fundamentals. Many of his attacks also have surprising amounts of utility, considering his weight class. His D-throw alone, for instance, can link with any of his five aerials for a true combo at low percent, and can even set up for a footstool combo. It can true combo into U-smash as well on certain characters. Ike's range with Ragnell is an asset, especially with F-air. That move has got to be one of, if not the most buffed attack in the game. In the 3DS version, the move was inferior to SSBB Ike's F-air in every aspect, except for start-up. The swinging animation was made faster in version 1.0.4 and it was also given auto-cancel properties.; version 1.0.8. increased its hitbox to now match its sword trail and also decreased its landing lag by 1 frame; and finally, version 1.1.4. increased its damage output to 13% and its range was made to reach as far as Shulk's F-air. With the exception of range, everything about Ike's F-air in SSB4 is now better than his F-air in SSBB. It came a really long way! The only move Ike has that I consider to be outright useless is D-smash. It may be his fastest smash attack, but it is overshadowed by his U-smash in almost every other category. If only the knockback trajectories of this move were more horizontal, similar to the second hit of Link's D-smash. Top tier, bottom tier, it matters not. Ike is my go-to character in both smash games. ^-^
  23. I'm very hopeful for Ike making an appearance, thanks to his well-established presence in the west. Path of Radiance Ike is my preferred incarnation of the character, though I would like to see both versions make the cut, so that both sides can be content. It would be nice to have the following characters added as well, especially those from JP only titles, mainly so they can gain some attention from western audiences. - Alm - Celica - Eliwood - Hector - Eirika - Ephraim - Elincia - Seliph - Leif - Finn ^-^
