  1. I think that I am most passionate about learning new things, especially in a biological context. Okay, yes that sounds super duper topical, but let me explain further. Today I learned that the reason why wetting your hair and then drying it again fixes your hilariously anime-esque bedhead because the hydrogen bonds between the keratin proteins of your hair are broken through hydrolysis. This is so goddamn cool, okay? I love finding out new things. One time, I spent an hour and a half researching ampullae of lorenzini in sharks just because I was so interested in the more specific uses that sharks have for these tiny pores in their cute sharky faces that they use to detect electrical currents, such as those in their prey, or even the Earth's electromagnetic field. Every day that I learn something new I remember how much I love this world because of how absolutely mag-fucking-nificent of a place i am in to be observing and learning of new discoveries about it. On a college tour two weekends ago, the father of the only boy in our tour group and he told me that he recently was told of a geneticist who essentially synthesized DNA in the lab and injected it into bacterial cells that were nearly dead or something, but the cells began to reproduce and I swear to god I nearly cried because this man had told me something so amazing and so wonderful. I love learning new things and I love listening to people who want to share things with me because it is just so incredible. ouo
  2. AAAAAS USUAL I have art to post so let's get on it [spoiler=Art?]My hand was so fuckin borked from cutting out all of the dots and shit today and the blisters on my writing callouses threaten to pop every day. BUT I"M DONE CUTTING P MUCH idgaf about those last three bubbles i'll cut 'em out tomorrow when i've test printed this fucker I also drew a bunch of stuff on a Skype call last night while i was celebrating my new headset and finALLY drew myself a picture I can use as my swanky new icon because that was what started this whole Sailor Shark silliness anyways. I really like the way this looks uncolored, but I'll probably color it for the sake of practice! EDIT (totally didn't see your response before I posted): Hearing that makes me feel a lot better about Ike in particular, since I wasn't sure if I liked the way he was turning out in terms of stylistic things as well as in terms of the way I was coloring. Thanks Tristi!
  3. May I request a santa hat? It is only proper to be so festive and all y'know? also i think it's cute when we all wear santa hats on our avvies
  4. "And in the dark, I can hear your sharkbeat-" Wait, no that's not right.

  5. I'd say that my favorites are the cellphone I had from 7th to 9th grade (my old Droid 2) and my Gameboy Advanced SP that I've had since i was 4.
  6. Gotta say that I've started to strongly dislike hearing people say squelch and squeal.
  7. Small Mini-update in which I prove that I truly do still sometimes draw Fire Emblem things [spoiler=Surprise] Yesterday I was like "I need some digital practice" so I asked my friend Jake to name any FE character and he said Ike so here I am, trying to color and asking myself if I actually remember how to color digitally. Idk If I actually like the way this looks so maybe I'll just scrap it A few minutes ago i was doodling instead of doing homework so Olivia happened and I feel like I should just start working on art homework at this point. And that's all for this mini update!
  8. Talk about late updates! I've got so much to post now but haven't really felt like doing so. So, I'll bust this sucker up into two spoilers: One for school projects, and one for all of my 'for funsies' stuff. [spoiler=So Many Art Projects For School]First up is the finished product of those shoes I was painting in watercolor! I highly recommend that you zoom in on this one to see the details with the Micron pens Next up, we have the stuff involving my linoleum printmaking plate! I'm not done cutting the damn thing out just yet, so I'll just post the before cutting picture and the most recent progress I've got. So, all the areas that were either colored black with sharpie in the first picture or are the girl's skin will appear white in the actual print, as they will have been cut out. Right now I'm mostly just trying to cut out everything that isn't skin or octopus suckers/spotted eagle ray spots/the spots on those two jellyfish closest to the octopus. If anyone wants to know more about linoleum printmaking, I'd be happy to explain the process further! Lastly, we have the project that is overlapping some with our printmaking project! The theme of this one is 'String' and I'm personally going for a 'caught up in all of the threads of everything and can't get out' sort of feeling with the piece. Here's the thumbnail: And here's what I've got of the lines on the actual piece so far: You have no idea how happy I am with that hand right there oh my goodness. That's it for the school stuff! Now for the funsies portion of the post! [spoiler=When Was The Last Time I Drew Anything Fire Emblem Related]I'm probably just going to put in images and not explain them. The lighting washed out the colors so much on this one bleh I tried to color it on my phone in the car yesterday. Not easy. trying to paint on Sketchbook Mobile is suffering More Sailor Shark That's all folks! Feel free to make comments, provide critique, all that jazz! Hope you enjoyed~
  9. Ahh thanks, Tessie! Personally, I feel as though the only way I could ever have improved as much as i have over the years was through my near daily practice. Congrats on beating WatGBS! That's my favorite of all the Mogeko games.
  10. If I had to rate the lateness of this update on a scale of one to ten it would be a twelve. However, I do have a lot to show from the last twelve days! [spoiler=SHOES DAMN IT] And then the progress pics start I think I started that project last wednesday This one reminds me a lot of the song that plays when Coraline is exploring the house That was a lot of stuff to share, but I hope you guys enjoy all of it! Comments and criticism are always appreciated!
  11. So, you know how you were saying the legs were a bit off? Well I'm here to see if I can help you remedy the issue! The first thing that I see is that the shape of her pants suggests that her right leg (artist's left) is super broken. It's not always easy to tell until you map out what a body part is doing underneath a piece of clothing. I did my best to draw out what I assumed you wanted her legs to be doing, and I've got to say that aside from the pants, the only other major thing that's up with her legs is her right foot and leg (artist's left) are turned too far outwards in relation to her hips! Otherwise, the pose is looking great! Hope that helped! ouo
  12. A while back, I said I'd draw Tsuribari's friend, so here we have the start of what will become a drawing of Stella! [spoiler=She's a sad starfish iirc] SO I ALSO HAD A STREAM AND DID SO MUCH WORK [spoiler=Spoileriffic]
  13. Oh gosh your art is so cute and fluffy looking! I can't wait to see more from you! If the requests are still open, I'd love to see you draw Stahl from FE13 if you can~
  14. AAAAND NOW! It's time for a really oddly timed update! [spoiler=Art, duh]All that's really left for me to do with this one is do touch ups and fix shading stuff. If you look at the salt shaker, you will see the small reflection of me, with my blue cellphone, taking the reference image for this piece My favorite thing ever is drawing Stephon performing mundane tasks while his friends cling to him. I will post more art later... But right now it's 2:38 AM and I'm doing the Biology homework I should have finished on Saturday. EDIT: Hell yeah I have stuff to post [spoiler=Guess what game I started playing] [spoiler=i am so close to finishing this]
  15. Fun Fact: I actually used chalk pastels, something infinitely messier (but way less frustrating) than paint! As for the drawing of Ms. Muscles, I am definitely planning on coloring her in digitally! Aaaaaaaaaa thanks Tristian! I added in the motion of the staff/stick/pretend flag/actual broom handle to help the viewer string together each pose more easily and also because aesthetic. ouo
  16. I'm gonna be sad to see Mythbusters end, but I think that the whole show had a great run overall. ouo
  17. Well, I must say that the coloring is very neatly done! I do have to say that the only thing increasing shading on Tiki's lips does negatively is highlight the position of the mouth as being slightly too high on her face. Hope that helps!
  18. As always, you never cease to impress me with your work! I especially like the way you did the armor on this one! It looks so real and I love it~! ouo
  19. Not much to show off, considering I haven't drawn a ton of stuff as of late lol [spoiler=I finished it!] I finally finished my Rhythm In Motion piece! I present to you all the final product with all my excitement and wonder! EDIT: I also remembered that i doodled some stuff earlier today and I wanna show off [spoiler=doodles] Actual events that happened this weekend MUSCLES I started reading Noblesse recently and BOY OH BOY is everyone hot.
  20. The project is to emulate the capture of motion of an object in a single frame. Essentially, I take a moving object, break that movement up into its most prominent poses and juxtapose all of those frames together, leaving obvious gaps where the viewer's mind is able to string the motion together! Today's Update: [spoiler=Starting to fall into that lifestyle rut lol. I need to go on walks more often or something]Obviously I've got an art project update to share. I actually DID take like 4 or 5 pictures during class today, but feel like it's only necessary to show off the most recent one. Maybe when I'm completely done with the project, I'll compile a whole Imgur album of the project from start to finish? Not totally sure how I feel about the photo quality, but whatever. I finished blocking in the background today and started touch-ups on the figures. It'll be fun for sure trying to get all the hands to look nice. Aaaand now for non-school related stuff. Except when I say stuff, I mean 'one picture because aside from stuff for another person, I haven't drawn much of anything.': If the snapchat caption was any indication, I want to make a sticker out of this! Hope you enjoyed!
  21. I've been pretty busy making art these last couple of days and doing other stuff too so here's an update filled primarily with the progression of my art project from start to about 65% completion. [spoiler=I doubt I have to tell you guys that the pictures are MASSIVE] Here we go! holy shit Wowza, that was a lot of images. Tell me what you think!
