  1. In Revelations, the party is empty when you get her. You have Avatar, Gunter, Servant, and Azura as your only units at this point. The next chapter says you get 4 units after her paralogue. Depending on how that chapter goes, Mozu could be slightly less useful than Gunter with a tonic or 2 in the story. I mean Donnell in Lunatic(+) might actually be worse than WENDY of all people.
  2. Actually, I thought the bandits were fine outside of the reinforcement bandits that actually appear. THAT isn't fair, as you're left at a point where you clear everything and then the boss calls for more reinforcements, and that's fine, but there's no way to see that it's actually a bandit that'll attack the village. The fact that there's an archer in the darkness I didn't mind, because the game tells you to keep Abner up front to see in the darkness, which is pretty solid as you can basically move Abner, and then move everyone else in front of Abner to protect him while he provides thief vision. What I was more bothered by in the chapter was that there's some sort of implication that archers also have thief vision, but Kai does not. Ambush reinforcements are bad, and it's even worse in this because sometimes they are ambush ones and somethings they are not. I completely agree on that moving boss. It doesn't help that he has a Silver Axe and a Tomahawk as well. It's completely nuts, and depending on how things work may require someone to survive one of those AND a ballista archer. Honestly my favorite chapter was the psuedo time limit one (you know what I'm talking about). The chapters are definitely varied and the story is oddly compelling. It's weird, Chapter 10 I was just like... "ARGH..." And kind of sat there silently for a minute.
  3. I'm not fond of units that start out this outlandishly bad when you have other units that fill the entire roster. At least with Mozu for instance, Mozu starts with a not completely full roster, so even if she's kind of worse, she can sort of help and by the time you get a completely full roster, she's either better or only slightly below average. Using Donnel requires me to use a character that's not much better . Donnell basically starts out by having his chapter say "baby him or forget him," and the amount of awesome he displays for doing it is less than... Like everyone in the game.
  4. Azura's "death" was done right as well in my opinion. There's some subtle foreshadowing to it earlier, and then the final boss has her sing a special version of a song that she's been singing the whole game that causes her to kind of degenerate. At the end, she completely disappears. Not bad at all honestly. Scarlet's I'm honestly going to put as "horrible." I played Revelations first, so I was just like "why does she only have like...1 support?" My Corrin was already married so I ignored her, and she didn't quite fit on my team, and then bam she died. I can understand why Corrin is upset though, because it was someone her brother seemed to really like. So I can see why she'd feel bad. I didn't mind his death. I was under the impression that it *was* supposed to be funny. Honestly, I feel like he didn't actually die and just did it so they'd go away.
  5. Revelations reuses a lot of maps from both Conquest and Birthright, with some of the highlight ones being the selected ones. However, the original maps are pretty lackluster in my honest opinion.
  6. Effie makes a great knight. I made Camilla a great knight, it was awesome. Jakob can be a solid one as well.
  7. Nothing. For starters, the game doesn't even give the player enough time to really feel anything for Flora. Sure, you can feel bad for Felicia, but outside of that, not much. The scene is confusing, and it seems really stupid that she feels so strongly about her position that she'll kill herself rather than help you. Even if the ice tribe was going to be taken out, it really doesn't make sense for her to simply... Join you. All of these deaths in Fates made me feel that the writer(s) do not understand how to properly have someone die and provoke emotions from the audience. Primarily because they feel random more than they feel well written.
  8. Yeah, most people don't respond because they agree sometimes I think. That generally goes for me (although I was legit at work on break, so I couldn't say much). Actually there is something. Double-edged skills. Reisen's skill was useful but double edged (it could hit you or the enemy). It also had to make you plan around having Reisen specifically not be next to a person each time your turn ended. Stuff like that can make for an interesting.
  9. This is a problem for quite a few of them. It's not just conquest. Saizo has this problem too. Laslow seems to get along perfectly fine with his daughter.
  10. Makes sense. I always took it in my head that Guy got killed by Karel and then Karel was like... "huh, that was messed up. I should stop that." And then became the Sword Saint.
  11. I can agree with your assessment of Emblem Warriors in comparison to Lyn's Revenge. Lyn's Revenge is tricky. And yeah, for Marc's Precious, it wasn't just that. Just entering the walls was shaky. If that archer gets a critical on your mage and he dies. You lose. Period. end of story. Arrow in the Wind I wish got more attention, because that was honestly one of my favorite submissions and it didn't get enough attention. I'd post more but I'm at work waiting on this to ... Well it's done now.
  12. Even if it wasn't, Forrest is Forrest, an entity that identifies as a male and has a definite preference for female companions.
  13. People really need to stop pretending people don't get what they are saying. You asked. I answered. Of course you would try to avoid it. That's what I just said. Honestly, there's a getting to be a bit too much aggressiveness and "you don't understands" in here. I'm out.
  14. A bear. Handguns are pretty useless against them. Hunting rifles don't quite cut it either. Of course avoiding them altogether is another thing entirely :D Oh no. I was in absolute agreement there. People actually hunt for deer in my area. There's definitely a reason to have them. Sorry for the confusion.
  15. Has already happened at moments. And yes, animal defense is a real thing. Coyotes are an actual problem in my area.
  16. Yeah. Really makes it hard to get invested in a unit when they do that with so many supports. Once again, same sex supports are superior.
  17. What's funny, is I don't think these maps were supposed to be endgame content, but instead content you were able to simply... Just do, like any other DLC. And I for one prefer the Fates DLC. Nothing is worse than starting a new game, thinking "hey, let's try this DLC," and then the enemies are way, way, WAY out of your league. The DLC leaves a really foul taste in your mouth when you have stuff like that happen to you. Having fixed units sort of makes this less of a problem instead of having units able to be massively underpowered against overpowered foes. That's not fun to me.
  18. Honestly, I've never really gotten my healers to be higher in level than combat units on normal play. Even ranked runs, I never did, because I usually did something like saved a really powerful unit like Raven to get my EXP back up again.
  19. Honestly when I get a bad hair cut, I just cut everything down to the same length on all sides and then let it grow from there.
  20. It's not knives. It's things like self made bombs. Like pipe bombs for instance. A couple of those could do significantly more damage than a gun, faster, and more discreetly than a gun. That's the problem. The way this type of attack was done, I'm not sure having a harder time getting a gun would have actually stopped him. Of course. But that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the person absolutely wanted to make a statement of some sort with a violent act. No, but a person without guns could rally together with other people and use other forms of rioting and attacks to cause problems. Look at something like say Missouri with the Ferguson incident as an example for something more recent (I know you stated you aren't American, so bear with me for a minute here). The rioting and the like was absolutely nuts, and guns were barely involved outside of the initial death of a single person. In this case, I'm not really seeing the relevance of gun control at all here. Sounds great until you realize that if you were ever blamed, you'd be locked away / executed without so little as a fair trial. Rules / Laws are generally made that way to have it be fair. There's too many people as of now that have been found guilty of murder and then 20 years later found to be innocent. The last thing you need is to be able to be locked up for an unclear set of rules that say you *might* be suspicious.
  21. Not to mention, it's not like.. You need a gun to kill people. I mean, if anyone really wanted to, they'd find a way.
  22. Yes. The only issue that I've noticed if Felicia / Jakob. It acts like they "died" in the earlier chapters when it gives you them back again if you switch genders. It can also help if you picked a boon/bane that made you have a terrible Corrin or Corrin just sucked in general for it. My Corrin had like... No defense gains so it makes for a really bad start.
  23. You've never picked up something and sent it to the convoy? Ever? So you always carry 4 items on all of your units? As for this, I don't really like any of the convoy systems. I feel like it should be a unit, but one that is different from other units. IE, itself up to become a more competent merchant, but has some form of self-defense. Like in the case of Fire Emblem now, it could be a permanently paired up unit that can't dual guard but has access to every item. That way, it keeps the whole "protect the merchant" mechanic without you simply ignoring the items. And a defeated merchant results in randomly losing items in the convoy from looters. That's the best I can think of without overhauling and making the merchant have a variety of mechanics present by no other unit.
