  1. Ok, just saw GameXplain on YouTube give the info on the rumor of Smash being a launch title for the NX so I'll just get to my thoughts! First thing that's important, if Smash Bros is gonna be a launch title for NX, it's most likely gonna be a port of Smash 4 because it would be quite hard to top Smash 4 at this point and time (also, Smash 5 would be too soon right now). Second, if this is a port, people should be able to fight others online with the NX version AND the Wii U version. That way, people don't feel alone if there aren't a lot of people jumping on the NX train right away. Third, JUST ADD ON NEW CONTENT! All Sakurai needs to do is make more new content for the port and make more DLC, and he'll have a much easier and less stressful time. He'll also not have to work as much because I imagine how draining working on the game must be! Those are my thoughts (for now anyway)! :3 And rob me of my mains? Heck no! ...but...Ephraim would be a nice and cool addition though! We need different weapon users so people can stop saying "there's another sword fighter"!
  2. Oh, really? Oops... Must have missed that. Sorry. Well I feel derpy now! :3Oh well, the waiting game continues... ...Darn it Nintendo, hurry up and give us answers! ..."sigh"...guess I'll go work on my entry for the "Serenes Scribbles" contest then( because I need to finish that pronto). I'll peek back in this topic every now and then until we get "Official" words from Nintendo! :3
  3. Wow...I've been gone from this topic for most of the day since last night and 4 pages later (after page 31) it's...this. Welp, it could be worse. :3 Anyway, I kinda thought about it for a while and I thought of something... (Don't quote me on this first part because I'm not sure, I'm assuming because this does make sense) Nintendo and IS (Intelligent Systems) are pretty much done with the main game and the release date is near. To remove a feature, even as small as that would take a lot more time AND money than they already have. At this point and time, they should be just about done translating everything and are about to start making game cartridges, make thousands of copies, and finally shipping them out to stores all over. Not to mention, they have to do this for TWO different games! So, unless they postpone the release of the game, I doubt it's tooken out. It seems so unlikely. The only other possibilities are: 1.)It's still there, but altered a bit. 2.)They changed it to something else (somehow) 3.)Taking it out isn't too hard to do for them (which I doubt). 4.) (This'll sound crazy, but...) they may have added something along side it or something along those lines...(...yeah, it's pretty farfetched, but its a thought) What do you guys think?
  4. If it helps, as long as it's interesting, I'll keep reading it regardless (I need to read more anyway :3 ).
  5. I second that, stepping back a bit (because this topic is kinda draining) is a good idea. I also second the emulator! Got Path of Radiance done though and I'm heading to Radiant Dawn...heck yeah
  6. Gotta make sure we get future games somehow! Whether or not this was a good choice is kinda up for debate...I feel tired when I say that (guess this debating topic drained a lot outta me over two days...).
  7. I'm sorry( and no offense), but...I find how you said that last part to be really funny for some reason! :3 (While the older games, mainly FE:PoR and FE:RD, I prefer and really love) We can at least agree the games are good, right? :3
  8. Morale of the story, no one wins...especially Kotaku. :3 I'm kinda in the same boat now. The fighting is draining. I want legitimate news from Nintendo to end this crap very soon.
  9. I think I'm almost there already. I'm not mad about skinship (possibly) being tooken out, but I've upset for other reasons. And honestly,at this point, I'm just hoping the next Fire Emblem game after Fates(whenever that is) won't have so much controversy! Heck, I wondering if Fates has more controversy than SMT X FE (like it or dislike it...it kinda seems that way)!
  10. About 20 hours in and I'm doing pretty good. I thank everyone for the tips because it helps! Better than nothing! Besides, I doing a good job, I haven't died once yet (had a close call with a giant snake thing though...)! :3 Search everywhere and fight everything. Got it! :3 Was that giant snake thing in the marsh the one with the missable ES? This is quite helpful. So I need an item for the last Limit break, ok then. Good thing I like to grind in RPG's (for the most part)! Already all over that! It helps since I can now still attack normally(somewhat) when I have OverLimit up (equipped on Cloud). I'll do that...after hundreds and hundreds of battles! I mean, those AP numbers...they are freakin' huge! I guess that's what double growth is for. You got that right! I went back to the Chocobo Farm when I got the Buggy and I talked to the chocobo near the gate. I watch all the chocobos all do a dance......and then I got the Chocobo/Moogle summon. I literally had my jaw drop when I saw I got a summon. To be honest...it kinda made me happy because I wasn't sure how they would have hidden stuff in the game that's 3D. My worries have been put to rest. Oh, and I try to be as blind in the game as I can...,but I do still look up some stuff like Fort Condor battles, rewards for minigmes, items/weapons uses, and how to get Yuffie...that first and last one especially since I knew Yuffie was in the game as a hidden party member and I wanted her since KIngdom Heart got me to like her and Leon...not Squall, Leon (but...I didn't expect her to be SO missable though. It did not take long since I waited till the Gongaga area and she was the my 4th or 5th encounter...so lucky me). Also, DEAR LORD, the time limit for each of the Fort Condor battles are too close for my tastes! I want just about everything from those battles, but jeez...it's a bit of a pain to stop and head back every time something happens plot wise. And...well...the guide spoiled a bit of stuff for me. Not a lot, but a little. Something about being "caught" and visiting Cloud somewhere...so I'm guessing Cloud leaves your party at one point...for whatever reason. I wonder why? Oh well, I'll find out eventually. That saddens me so much. I know that Sephiroth uses "Jump" on her later and I felt like I should focus on everyone else because of that, but......she's so dang good and I really like to use her! Oh man...it's gonna be painful when I reach "THAT" part of the game... :(
  11. Wait, they cut out some of the extra stuff in that game? Weird...I would think that an M-rated game would not need to do that...even if it is Nintendo. ...I've been thinking and I can kinda see where you're coming from. It isn't fun when someone else gets content that's kept from us because of a "we can't handle it" mentality(or something along those lines), that's kinda unfair for those who may want it. It's kinda like how some games seem to have different default difficulty settings. For example, apparently Crash Bandicoot 3 is somewhat harder in the European version (I heard this from a game reviewer, Somecallmejohnny, who did look this up). Why do that? It doesn't make sense when you think about it. However, the thing that probably separates me and you( and some others) is that...well... I'm behind console wise. I've pretty much grown on Nintendo consoles(always one console generation behind) and most games I've played, I never thought about what other countries got, I just cared about what was in front of me. Then again, I didn't really start looking this kind of stuff up until I started High School and I thought more about this kind of stuff. So, I guess it's because I'm so behind I don't exactly feel the same way as maybe you or some others do. Now that isn't to say they should cut content for different places, it kinda sucks, especially if it's for no good reason or said cut content is good. Quite honestly, if they cut content, it should be before announcing it worldwide or see how everyone reacts around the world and if the majority don't like it, cut it from all versions so no one feels alienated......, but then that creates a whole new problem all together since then if said cut content is good or a good amount of people who actually wants it, then you're still kinda alienating people. .....No one seems to win in the end(completely anyway). And on the skinship thing, if it is cut, ...ehh...I still kinda stick with what I said earlier, but I'm kinda looking at it from both perspectives now (more or less). I love the Fire Emblem series greatly too, so that kinda fuels it too. ...I feel like I've been soooooo negative in this topic. :(
  12. (0_0) ...Wow...I learned something (very interesting) today. Thank you! :3 I will say though...that's kinda rough. I can imagine that some people like to import stuff from here...and considering it's quite easier for some with english as a main or well known language.
  13. I've been noticing something a lot more recently (not what I've been speaking about) and I have to ask this: We in the states sometimes get the short end of the stick (when it comes to Japanese games being localized), so...why the heck does Europeans get an even shorter end of the stick than us? When games are localized for here, it gets censored and/or content is changed or removed. Europeans get that and then some...why? I mean, I know that what is accepted in one place/state isn't always in another, but why do they specifically get it even more so?
  14. Thus, one of the reasons it wasn't localized here in the states...even as good (and fun) as the game may be.
  15. That's not the issue I have, the issue is that some people seem enraged at the small side things too much, making them not to get the game, and said small side things aren't a huge deal in the first place (...although, some are more than others...). The extra side stuff is nice and I don't have much of a issue with that stuff (for the most part).
  16. I'm gonna ask the same question I asked earlier. What are you getting the game for? I ask because some people seem to not want the game because of one or two small things that are (possibly) not in the game! I can understand if you're upset or disappointed or may not care a whole lot because some like the feature more than others, BUT...to not the game at all because a of minigame (that has never been in a FE game until now)? Something that probably makes up only 5% - 10% of a strategy rpg?! Did you want the "strategy rpg", the main thing Fire Emblem is known for, or just for the other extra stuff?! Sorry if I sound rude, but this issue seems to be occurring constantly and it saddeneds (and kind upsets) me as I see more of it! I've been a big fan of the series since FE 7 (the first FE game released in the west) and while adding new extra stuff (or changes) in the series isn't always a bad thing (heck, it helps it a lot sometimes, like casual mode for newcomers of the series), I just hate it that people seem to be getting so enraged (or disappointed) to the point of not getting the game due to one (or two) small little thing(s) added in this new game to the series, when the core parts of the gameplay( that has pretty much stayed the same up to this point) is actually really good! I don't care if you have a waifu or husbino or whatever you may like or like to do, just don't act like the smaller new additions are more important than the main core game itself. Which is why I ask...WHAT ARE YOU GETTING THE GAME FOR?! ......I'm sorry if I offended or upset anyone, but it just...*sigh*...this whole thing is getting blown waaay out of proportion...for something that was never really that big of a thing in the first place...
  17. Oh crap...time's almost up and I've been procrastinating (...and kinda busy due to life) too long! I'm gonna have to kick things into overdrive in order to finish my drawing! I need to finish by the 30'th so I have time to make possible changes (and to make sure my entry makes it in on time because I like to be sure).
  18. While that may be true (and I'm happy you actually mentioned GameXplain... :3), there are three things that kinda wouldn't help.1.) If they don't get the "thumbs up" from Nintendo, they can't say anything even if they wanted to. 2.) Nintendo could actually not even know about this being said yet (because someone could have misinterpreted something Nintendo said) and until they realize this, we won't know. 3.) (Least likely, but..) Maybe Nintendo is trying to gauge how people react to them "removing" it and see whether to keep it or change it. Heck, even the video of FE: Fates Chapter 13 (Hoshido) that GameXplain uploaded today didn't tell much (and there was no talking in the video either...hmmm), well...except story...and what Corrin's death quote is ...and what the Game Over screen looks like (...Camillia is strong as heck).
  19. To be a little blunt, some of the extra stuff added to this Fire Emblem game may be more harmful then helpful to the series as a whole going forward (since some people will want it again in the future) and some people seem to so angered at something that was (possibly) token out, and that something is pretty small in comparison to everything else. Also, not everyone will like me for saying that. And no, I don't hate the petting minigame(?)...just really unsure about it being in the game.
  20. My point is are you getting the game for the gameplay and characters or just the extra added stuff? And no, I just mean the same-sex marriage part since that's added on (and an extra thing). Marriage is part of the series and well...it should be kept fictional and...wait...better not say that last part or it'll start a whole new thing altogether (...welp...I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this...)
  21. (I'm probably gonna upset someone with my post, but I feel like this has to be said. Oh and Note: I'm not saying everyone is upset or disappointed the same way as others because not everyone feels the same way. Just wanted to be clear on that.) Is it me or are people a little too upset about this (possible) news? So far to the point that they don't want to buy the game( and get the JPN versions JUST for that feature). I'm sorry, but...what (or better...WTF)?! Don't get me wrong, while this feature is "interesting" to say the least, it's a feature that had time and effort(and money) put into it with a few cool and interesting things to it (depending on what it is). To take it out is a little bit saddening...even if you're not too sure how to feel about it (a.k.a. me). However, I feel like some people are a little too upset with this. I mean, what's you're reason to get the game then? Was it play a "Fire Emblem" game or was it for the extra stuff like the petting, face rubbing, and same-sex marriage in a game? I've been playing the series since FE7, so adding or taking out some of this extra stuff isn't gonna affect me too much (note: I said "some" because it's not like adding new features is bad or anything, even to Fire Emblem. For example, getting rid of the support limit was probably one of the best changes they made in Awakening...although that ment they had to change how supports work a bit...but you get my point). Why? Because I want to play Fire Emblem, a strategy RPG with interesting characters (who I care about if they die and) who you can support one another and become friends & fighting buddies, and(if you wanted) you can choose to pair up two characters (marriage wise)! These things(for the most part) make up a lot of what Fire Emblem is about and it kinda hurts to see some people get so riled up and possibly not want the game over a feature that probably makes up 5% - 10% of the game that isn't that big of a feature and also is something new to the series as a whole. Like I said, it may upset someone, but I felt like it needed to be said. People hating me or not. No regrets.
  22. About 3 hours in (Aerith leading me back to Sector 7)...so far so good! Kinda looking everywhere just in case I find hidden goodies and I'm grinding here and there. Seeing how much it takes for you to reach the next level for materia, grinding for it makes a LOT of sense!
  23. Ok, so I recently went to my Goodwill and I actually found a copy of Final Fantasy VII, with all 3 disc, (THANK YOU GOD) and the ps1 version of FF IV (the one from FF Chronicles)...somehow all in the same game case( ...a mix up I guess, but hey...I'm not complaining). I'd been wanting to play this game for a good while now, but......I'm a newbie to the ps1 FF games and I feel like a few tips would help me out greatly since I've heard about rare steals and some hidden stuff(weapons, items, summons, etc) and I would to not fall for or miss some stuff. So any tips and tricks would be helpful to me (No spoilers please...expect the one about Sephiroth using "Jump" on Aerith...almost everyone knows about that)! Please and Thank you in advance!
  24. Wyvern Riders and Pegasus Knight are pretty much opposites. Wyvern riders are more offensive & physically defensive while Pegasus knights are more speed & skill oriented (some times luck since they're pretty good dodgers too) and are pretty good magic tanks, second to magic users and healers...most of the time (unless RNG screwed). If it's making sense, lances make the most sense since you kinda need range when mounted on something. On a personal level, Axes fit the Wyvern riders more. I'm not against the both of them uses lances( because I could complain how [unpromoted] units in FE games, 50% use swords, 35% use lances, and 15% -10% use axes...it may not be accurate, but not many people use axes. Heck, some games changed what some weapons promoted units can use like how Generals in FE:Path of Radiance switched from Axes to Swords...even if it worked good in their favor because axe users weren't as big as a threat as before...and I loved how Brom could tank everything much better...expect magic...oops! Going a bit off topic). Although, I REALLY, REALLY wished they would do like Radiant Dawn and change the Wyverns weakness from Arrows to Thunder magic (and magic was pretty dangerous for them since there were long ranged magic tomes like "Bolting"). I guess it's a way to balance them, but when your "super tanky" Wyvern Lord can stand up to a lot of physical attacks, but can go down in 2 or so arrow shots AND a few magic attacks......it's a bit dishearting. It would be nice if they brought the "Full Guard" item back from FE:Path of Radiance (which cancels any bonus damage you would have gotten. For example, Archers won't have the bonus attack power they get when attacking Pegasus Knights since Full Guard protcts them from that weakness)! It also kinda depends on the game. Speaking of Path of Radiance...in that game, there are TONS of enemy axes users in that game (some chapters more than others) and having two flying units weak to that kinda sucks( but...since the weight system in that game is based on your actual strenght, something that the enemy axe users have a issue with almost halfway through the game, and those two flyers are Wyvern Rider Jill and Pegasus Knight Marcia...I don't mind too much since they're awesome and take them out regardless, even more so in Radiant Dawn...well...for me anyway :3 )
  25. (Warning! Long post...and this info is off the top of my head, so sorry in advance if so info seems a little off) I'm kinda torn on this(after reading all the past posts). On one hand, Greil knew his true identity, and if that got out...it would be quite...devastating to his reputation to say the least. So killing him was pretty important. On the other hand, its possible that when he saw his master, they both wanted to "Clash"! :3. Even if getting the medallion was his mission, I doubt he cared that much during the battle. And since Greil wasn't as powerful as he was before, BK finished him off a lot easier than he thought (which was pretty counter intuitive since not only do so few people know of the medallion's existence, even less so know where or what it is. Killing the man off or giving him a grave wound is a bad idea if no one really knows where it is except him). Even without knowing during that fight he was a bit crippled, BK knew something was different about Greil. This probably left him unsatisfied, so he kept letting Ike live because Greil's true strength was gone for good even before killing him and Ike was the only other way he could feel as if he surpassed his teacher. ...Ok, that last part was kinda going off focus just a bit, but you get the point. Honestly, BK's motives are a alittle too unclear to be completely sure. He kinda...does things. His only goal that is clear is to surpass Greil, a chance that was lost as soon as Greil touched the medallion. Instead, he tried to use Ike to fulfill that goal in a different way(although, to be honest, I think Ike surpassed his father by the time BK and Ike fight for the last time ). But then again, maybe he wanted to have some self goal to achieve, even though he achieved so much as is! Before Ike, Greil was the only person to rival him, even with all the power he has( and also that OTHER thing about him that I won't say unless you fulfilled certain requirements on your second playthrough of FE:RD and fight him for the last time and see the secret flashback that should've been seen the first time or be a little less hard to get)! So both kinda seem one and the same. Killing Greil would mean keeping his true identity safe and it would mean he finally surpassed his teacher, killing two birds with one stone. ...wait he was following Sephiran(sorry if I spelled it wrong), right? Maybe that's why he doesn't have any real motives, he was following Sephiran more than anything else (well except Sanaki) and considering how he didn't really any goals in life (again, all thing considering...even before he became "The Great Zelgius") he wanted something else to strive for...I guess (I'm not 100% confident, but I'm pretty sure of it). ...ok, maybe I'm not so torn on this anymore...(and sorry if this sounded confusing...not the greatest at explaining, but I could be worse). :3
