  1. I'm gonna see if I can go to my Best Buy (and possibly Wal-Mart if I really want to) when it opens. If it isn't there, I'm just gonna say screw it and just get Conquest (I've built my resolve at this point and braced myself in case it isn't there...still gonna hope though).
  2. .......It...it is done. I finally picked my votes after being conflicted for literally HOURS (from 11 a.m. this morning...I had to leave and come back at least 2 of those hours...it sounds crazy, but my love for this kind of stuff is grand)! I told myself to only pick 10, but that was EXTREMELY hard for me to do because I love so many of the entries! The Music and Drawings for Fates were the biggest road blocks for me! In the end I picked 15, and now I'm mentally tired......*sigh*...... (Specifically, 8 Drawings, 3 Writes, and 4 Misc. I wanted to pick 2 more writes that I really liked AND all the music pieces, but then that would lead me to vote for 20 entries. ) This was still a pretty fun event though! I may have been mentally tired after voting both rounds, but I still enjoyed it! Note: I started off by picking out all the ones I really liked and I would then pick my top 10 out of that number. Unfortunately...that was 30. Choosing 10 out of 30 is REALLY freakin' hard! I kinda wish there was only one more round for the final 25, but alas...
  3. Other than voting for the Serenes Scribbles event, the issue with the SE of Fates has been quite conflicting for me (for different reasons. The SS event is for good reasons...so many good entries... :3 ). The release date for Fates is so close, yet we've heard nothing about the SE. Unless Nintendo is trying to make a lot them before the release and making retailers not have too many pre-orders so they can get them out without too much pressure, it's kinda a pain not hearing or seeing anything about it. I've been watching Amazon (and sometimes even that FE:Fates Tracker) like a hawk lately because I KNOW that the SE is gonna be jumped on like a cheetah bolting for prey after not eating for almost a week. Also, I even went to my Wal-Mart and tried to see if I could be lucky and find one...nope. I did see both versions of Fates behind the glass case though......I felt like I was being taunted......*sigh*...... :'(
  4. They did?! Sweet! I haven't played Ike after the patch, so I wouldn't have known. I'm really happy for this! :3
  5. ......I have no idea what I just looked at......but I love it!
  6. Who do you plan to fight for? Nohr or Hoshido? Bond or Blood? Redemption or Revenge? (Insert another option here) or (Insert another option here) :3
  7. Fire Emblem and pistols......that sounds so weird, but kinda cool at the same time. ...I think I'll stick to crossbows though. :3
  8. (And I just beat my 2'nd playthrough of RD the other day too! :3 ) The Telleus games are my favorite era of FE games and playing through both are a blast (and I, for the most part, can actually remember who is who in the games). I actually had to sit down and really think about this for a bit. Both have great stories (that has everything come back around, a.k.a. every loose end is tied up by the end. Most of them in PoR and all of them in RD) and both play great. RD builds off PoR and make much, MUCH better ( my favorite being the change to how skills work because I always hesitate to equip skills in PoR since taking them off will erase them for good. RD gets rid of the crap and lets you keep them)! I also love how both really make you feel B.A. at the end of it all. I have. A similar feeling with the other games, it feels more epic with the Telleus games (and it isn't the 3D because Awakening didn't get that quite right honestly...then again, I was on Hard mode :3 ). In the end though...I think I prefer FE:PoR(FE9). I do really like RD... A lot(especially since it actually fills in the last piece of someone's backstory that I wasn't expecting at the end), but there are a few gripes of mine that hold it back just a bit. While I've gotten over RD not having support conversations (...although still a bit salty ), I'm not a fan of how you get and see everything. In order to unlock or get certain stuff, you have to do some things that seem a bit difficult and kinda a bit...discouraged. In order get a certain scene that fills in the last of a certain character's backstory at the end of the game (and recruit a certain character in the last chapter) ...on you're second playthrough and onward, Ike needs to fight the Balck Knight on a certain chapter...who can actually kill him really easily (both need to live through the battle). Not only that, but you need Soren to attack their commander...who is near the Black Knight. That's kinda nuts, so unless your Ike can survive on his stats alone and you can rescuse Soren, your gonna need that Soren support (and/or luck) and someone really close by to save Soren immediately after. The other thing is the last part of the game. On your second playthrough, it isn't so bad since you know it's there, but on your first playthrough, you won't know about the last few bosses having area attacks and (for the last two) long range attacks that can hit you just about any where and hurt...really bad. You especially won't know that thr Final boss has that and a paralyze move that paralyzes EVERYONE...AND, the killing blow NEEDS to come from Ike or the boss will revive themselves! Now I'll be honest, I do like the final boss because I have to stay on my toes big time (heck, I won in 5 turns), but it can feel a bit cheap the first time and if your team got a bit RNG screwed(a.k.a. bad levels) at the end. Poor Sothe on my first playthrough...didn't stand a chance, I had to bench him for the final boss. He was MUCH better on my second, but my point still kinda stands. The only thing that keeps it from being a lot worse is the battle save feature ( I love that thing SOOOOOO much)! Those are my only real gripes with RD, it's still a great game, but those make me enjoy PoR more. I can play PoR hwoever I want and I don't have much to gripe about it (...except maybe how you recruit Shinon and maybe Devdan...or was it Danved, I forget...also, I do wish it had mania mode, it would've been fun because hard mode is "normal mode" for me in PoR). Then again, PoR got me to fall in love with the series (FE7 introduced me), so I may be a bit bias! :3
  9. Yeeeah...I wasn't too sure either, but it was worth a mention! :3 One thing does still kinda stands though......they probably did ALOT to keep Cloud soooooo under wraps because...it was pretty hugh news.
  10. Also, I think it has to do with keeping him hidden until his reveal. I'm not sure who heard about this, but apparently (I kinda forgot some details since this happened months ago when the Smash Ballot was still up and going)...a certain site made a mistake (somehow) and the voice actor for Shantae, had "Super Smash Bros." added to her list of appearances. As you could imagine, the internet exploded, and people thought Shantae was coming to Smash Bros...for a while anyway. While it did end in it being a mistake, it caused a lot of commotion fast. To bring in Cloud's voice actor would be quite...dangerous to such a big secret. Yes, they had time between the reveal and Cloud's release to get his english VA, but I imagine that it was bit too late for that...probably. I don't know how long it takes to record VA's and put them in a game. It's just a possiblity and a thought of mine. :3
  11. I have the case for Uprising on my shelf( I don't own the game anymore...stupid me... :'( ) and that's kinda how the sub-title came to me. Honestly though, you guys saying that kinda makes me wish I did something like that...oh well.......wait a second, crossover......crossover......!!! ...Suddenly, ideas for next year's contest are starting to really brew in my head now! *rubs hands together evilly* Next time,,,I'll be even better...count on it! (I don't care if evilly is not a word. I SHALL USE IT!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! )
  12. (replying on phones kinda suck for this, so I waited till I could use my computer.) Fire Emblem Uprising was my entry. Personally, while I am proud of my work...I do feel like I could have done MUCH better. I wanted to be different and make my own box art for a Fire Emblem game and I was going to make it epic (and have really good details too)! However...procrastination and personal life (mainly high school...I'm a senior right now by the way) took my focus a lot more than I thought it would and when I looked around, all I had were two weeks left. So I had to make time and actually force myself to sit down to draw the dang picture (thankfully, once I start, I'm good and on a roll. It's the starting part that messes me up :3 )! After restarting 3 times and changing things from my original idea, I came up with what I had envisioned...for the most part. From the get go, I already knew that I wanted it to be epic, but still somewhat simple like the older Fire Emblem games (more so Path of Radiance because I love that game :3 ). I even thought of doing something similar to PoR's box art, but I've never really drawn fading stuff before, so I was a little unsure (look at PoR's box art and you'll see what I mean. Fast forward to the last two weeks, I decided to change gears and make it somewhat similar to FE7's box art and somewhat simple. Also, seeing how drawing hands in good detail is the bane of my drawing career a pain for me, I tried my best to not have hands in this drawing that much...which is why the woman in the middle got a rapier (like Eirika's) instead of a knife (I originally wanted her to be kinda a mixture of a pirate and a thief). Honestly, I could've made the background look interesting, but being short on time, I wanted the main thing to be done so that I wouldn't have to turn it in at the very last minute ( that was a tense night for me...and a sudden increase in school work didn't help either. In a way, I actually only had 1 week). If you look at my drawing, my best part of it is probably the girl on the right. Although, she kinda looks like she's missing an arm and her ax is just sitting on her shoulder...somehow. To make a long story short, I had a big vision for my drawing, but I used my time very poorly and had to change and cut a lot of things that would've been great on it. Oh well... ...*sigh*... While it is saddening to see my drawing barely even make a dent in the contest, I am happy to see that I still have a ways to go and that I am still pretty good at the point I am at now. I made this in such a short amount of time (with original characters too.....which I need to get better at making), so I wonder if I had used my time wiser, how much better would have it been? Hopefully next time I actually use my time wisely! Kudos to all who made it! (P.S. I also had an idea to make a story too......hhhmmm...maybe in the future... :3 )
  13. I voted for the drawings the other day and I tried to keep my voting to 10...but then I voted for 8 on the first page. Then I said maybe 20 votes...ended up picking 21. Then I just said screw it, might as well choose 25.......chose 26 instead. The very last one I had chosen , I was conflicted on picking, but...I didn't want it to be unappreciated (:3), so I picked it too (because dear lord I love these entries... all for similar and different reasons)! :3
  14. Dang it! I had so much on my mind I couldn't read all the entries in time! I did read a good amount beforehand (the other day), but I probably missed a few good one. :'( On the other hand, I saw all the miscellaneous stuff and they were pretty good! I did not hold back in the slightest while voting (too many good stuff)! :3 Edit: I need to come back later and finishing reading them all...properly.
  15. Thank you!Sure not every story is great, but each story is pretty good, decent at the very least. I'll probably favor one over the other, but that's me. In FE7's case, it's pretty good. Also, not gonna lie, kinda hating the hate Fates is getting BEFORE it even gets here...seriously! Edit: I would like to see the story for myself and make my own opinion instead of it being told to me (almost all over the place). Besides, when translating, it isn't always the exact same thing. Also, not liking a story very much and having low standards are two quite different things. Derrick doesn't have low standards...far from it.
  16. This is pretty much the geist of it. Sakurai can patch the game all he wants, but to make it so that there are no glitchs and make everyone completely balanced would take ALOT of work and who knows when it would end. Patching one issue would most likely create another. Now that isn't to say that fixing glitches and the such is not important, but continuing to patch the game would not only drain Sakurai massively, but then he would have no time to do much else and that wouldn't be right or fair for him. This is another good point (minus the insignificant part, that seems a bit too harsh. Although, I can kinda see what you mean). Sakurai can only cater to both sides so much. Catering one side a lot more would hurt the other. I'm not sure how much his opinions on competitive smash is nowadays (although it seems to be better now), but I do imagine that he does try to cater to the competitive side of smash. That and the other minorities when it comes to smash bros. (because while Geno is only a costume in smash, how many people do you know who wanted him in at all? Cloud even? When Cloud was revealed, I never knew that people wanted him before. He has shown that even though it's not a super loud request, he can still hear the request and is willing to give us what we want if he can.) He does hear the minorities, he can't hear ALL of them, but he can hear some of them though...although some are louder than others. ( *cough*...Mewtwo smash bros. fans...*cough*) Also, low tier or not, Ganondorf...is a boss! :3
  17. Mine got one, but to be honest, I'm still happy. One person liked my stuff enough to vote for it. I can leave this contest happy now! :3 I can't wait to see who drew what...it'll be interesting to find out! ;)
  18. ...she still kicks more butt than Eliwood anyday though. I'm totally not a little salty or anything about that :3 I can't say the same towards Hector because than I would be lying to myself...greatly! Nothing against Eliwood, I like the guy and he can be pretty good and all, but...he kinda gets a bit outshined sometimes by the other two lords (Character wise by Hector, Battle wise by Lyn AND Hector).
  19. Hm,,,didn't know people had an issue with Lyn. She was always fine with me honestly ( not to mention she left a big impression on me as a kid when I first played the game). I do wish they did a bit more with her though, but I'm fine with what we got (if only it had a remake to further her character and the such......along with a remake and localization of Sword of Seals...probably won't happen, but a guy can hope). FE7's story was pretty alright in my book too. I prefer Path of Radience's(FE9) a lot more, but I still enjoy Blazing Sword quite a bit. Not sure about Sword of Seals(FE6) though (I prefer FE7 over that one), but I haven't played that game in a while (and I don't replay it often like FE 7, 9, and 10) so my memory may be a bit fuzzy with that game.
  20. Oh boy...didn't know about the innuendos...this is gonna be fun (Immaturity for the win......sometimes anyway). :3 Well...if she breathed fire, she would be smoking you/ you're opponent! :3 Edit: I hear Fuma, but I think Fukka (Persona 3). Weird, huh?
  21. So...I can beat people with a wine bottle in this game? ...This game is shaping up to be freakin' beautiful! :3
