  1. thing is mm8 is so bad it's actually kinda painful so I can't even enjoy itthat scene where mega man screams for 20 seconds my ears are forever scarred dr light is glorious though
  2. FeMU x Chrom is awful most in FE6 are really boring and not worth reading there's quite a few in Fates that are terrible but since it's not official yet I won't say anything even though I think it's funny Serra and Oswin is not okay "Fourteen years, right? Hey, that's not so bad!" I'll think of more later
  3. sotn is bad voice acting the way richter says "MAGNIFICENT! BUT NOW FEEL MY UNBRIDLED WRATH!" is my favorite part of the game but the thing is it doesn't seem like the voice acting got any better order of ecclesia's voice acting is absolutely masterful "HEY. WANT TO BUY SOMETHING? YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO PAY FOR THIS." "SHANOAAAAAAAA" "Looks delicioussss...." "YOU! STUPID DISCIPLE!" everything is so hilariously bad
  4. Geese has the coolest hair probably ever not sure who to vote for since the only one I've ever actually used is Dart and despite him being pretty good I don't really like him so
  5. i am horribly shocked that this doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet Glass
  6. Still, if it's a better experience then it should be recommended over the others. Whether or not the game is lazily made shouldn't affect someone's enjoyment of it compared to an inferior game. If it's more fun, then it's more worth playing.
  7. PSA: I own this game, and despite this thread being phrased as a dumb unnecessary Q&A it's actually a pretty decent game
  8. Eliwood I think he's my favorite lord too I also like Matthew though and Dieck
  9. How are you so sure Ventus' story will be wrapped up I'm not doubting it or anything I'm just curious since the closest I've ever gotten to finishing a Kingdom Hearts game was yesterday I finished Ventus' story in Birth By Sleep Yes thank youOne thing I tend to notice is that there's almost always more people complaining about a fanbase than there are actually problems in said fanbase In most fanbases the good tends to greatly outweigh the bad; people just like to complain about the bad more often, thus making the fanbase infamous for being bad.
  10. i agreein mario rpg he's basically just a joke at first who tries to act really cool but in paper mario they actually made him seem really evil and powerful and all then in the second game they basically demote him from main villain to main comedy relief, which is actually hilarious and probably my second favorite bowser in mario and luigi he's a lot less prominent though like in the first game the whole rookie thing was funny but bowletta was uhhhhhh in partners in time he's barely there from what i can tell though never actually finished it but he was pretty boring there bowser's inside story bowser is the best one though bowser is like the best protagonist ever he's so stupid and likable i love it also the way he says "SHOWTIME" is just perfect
  11. So. aside from said Yaoi, what exactly is wrong with the Kingdom Hearts fanbase? I aak this not because I disagree, but because I never cared about Kingdom Hearts until like, 5 days ago. So I'm curious as to what's so bad about the fanbase.
  12. Well, that was the only part I actually cared about, so I'm really glad we're finally getting this! Looking forward to this a ton.
  13. Even without taking the subs into account, the characters you always get are pretty solid. Celice, Leaf, Ares, Shanan... Some of the best in the game. Oifaye, Fin, and Altena aren't bad either. Julia's a decent healer and the AI hates Hannibal so you can use him to take hits near a castle.
  14. That's... not entirely accurate. I believe Awakening needed to sell 250,000 copies or the series would be discontinued. Almost every single Fire Emblem game has sold that much. Really, I feel like it was just because they actually bothered to advertise it that Awakening sold so well. And honestly, while it is a problem if they look down on newer fans, is it really such a problem to dislike the newer ones? Like... sure, it might seem kinda dickish to say it's too "casual". But in a way, it is true. The mechanics are much simpler and the maps are pretty dull. Not saying they're bad, but it's a valid complaint.
  15. This. I guess I tend to not use them since I like to have the units with me that I trained up, but if I see someone I like and they happen to be a prepromote, I'll use them.
  16. Every fanbase has its Pros and Cons, honestly. I don't really have an answer, since every fanbase has tons of people, and it's just so broad saying that a fanbase is bad, since, (I can say this from experience) in every fanbase there are plenty of people who know what the problem is and... aren't terrible. Not that there's anything wrong with this thread, because it's perfectly fine to dislike a fanbase, I just don't like to group so many people together without really knowing what everyone is thinking. Like, to give an example, I always heard people say that the Sonic fanbase was bad because they criticize basically every Sonic game past the four on the Genesis. But... now that I've taken a good look at them, a lot of those games are really, really bad. There are good ones, but most of those even have huge flaws. Not to say the Sonic fanbase doesn't have its own issues, because there are plenty more, but now I understand why people think that.
  17. Am I the only person who's really fucking sick of this argument?Like... there's so much wrong with the ideology of "BUT GEN 1 HAD BAD DESIGNS TOO" I mean... yes? Does that make these any better? And also, do the three generations in between not matter at all? Shouldn't we have higher standards considering Gen 1 was around 20 years ago? Any of those could be considered much better than Gen 1 or 5 in terms of designs. And, even without mentioning the ones that people love to defend like the ice cream and garbage, does that make any of the other designs good? There are still plenty of bad or boring Pokemon designs throughout Gen V. But even then, whenever I criticize them I tend to get "AAAA BUT MUK BUT GEODUDE". Also, by Gen V, I'm assuming you mean BW1 because I played White 2 and the story was... pretty shit. The rival is easily my least favorite, his motivations are so... overexaggerated. He has to complain about his sister's missing cat every moment he can. Villains are pretty boring too in that game. Honestly, the games aren't even disliked anymore. Plenty of people love them. If you held a poll of people's favorite Pokemon games, number 1 would probably be either Gen 5 or 3.
  18. That's actually one of the biggest reasons I feel like FE7 should at least be considered firsti played fe6 first but never finished it, though after playing through fe7 i really liked the backstory it gives to zephiel he was the one particular character i was referring to
  19. All up to you. FE6 takes place after FE7, and FE7 is specifically designed so it can be played either before or after FE6. There are a couple little easter eggs for people who played FE6. A few characters make minor appearances, some chapters take place in the same areas, and there are a couple of nods to the story. To give a simple, non spoilery example, at the end of the game, Eliwood asks you to name his child. This is, of course, in reference to the fact that you already know his son's name, Roy. Hector also says that he's certain his child will be a boy. If you played FE6, you'd know that he has a daughter. One of the major things in deciding, though, is the backstory added in FE7. There's one character in particular that has an extremely interesting backstory shown in FE7, but there's quite a few. Playing FE7 first will have you see these characters as what they originally were originally, and then see how they changed. Playing FE6 first will let you see the characters as they were originally created, and then see what they were before and how they became the way they are. FE7 was made afterwards, so some parts were clearly made to provide insight on why things you've already seen happened. Also, in FE6, numerous playable characters are the children of characters in FE7. So that's interesting no matter which you start with. It does add to making the games one continuous story, though. In addition to that, quite a few plot points continue in FE6, and FE7 specifically alludes to these. One more thing to note is that FE6 is much harder than FE7 and also has much less gameplay variety. So keep that in mind. So overall, it depends on what you'd prefer. Having characters established as they are and seeing specifically made backstories for them afterwards, seeing characters as they were originally and then watching them develop into what they become, or playing one continuous story. If you'd prefer the first, go with FE6 first. For either of the other two, go with FE7 first.
  20. This is exactly why I think referring to things as "overrated" is so pointless and terrible. There are thousands of people who love this game and there are probably thousands who don't. But saying that it's "overrated" because people say that it's better than you think it is is so overly generalizing. Wind Waker is a great game, and it's among my favorites. But every time the game is brought up I hear people praising it for understandable reasons and tons of other people calling it overrated. Really, just because people say a game is better than you think it is, is that so wrong? They definitely have some reason for it, even if it seems ridiculous, they're not just spouting nonsense.
  21. hate to break it to youbut shadow dragon kinda came out after melee in fact, Marth's animations in Shadow Dragon are based on his attacks from Smash Bros his second hit animation? that's his side tilt marth shares the most in common with the swordfighters from fe4 up b is similar to critical, side tilt is similar to a second hit, side b might be based on astra/meteor/shooting star which have no relation whatsoever to marth; he's not even in that game also toad does have something unique mushrooms for example, in mario kart double dash toad can get a golden mushroom in mario party toad can get a triple mushroom powerup they could base his moveset around mushrooms; there are plenty in Mario regular mushroom, volt shroom, gold mushroom, bee mushroom, mega mushroom there are plenty of things toad could do it seems like a stretch but keep in mind pac-man's down b is based on a random object from a game seriously check the trophy it says that there is a fire hydrant in pac man 2 they do whatever they goddamn want for movesets honestly
  22. nobecause it's just a design choice and your interpretation of it
  23. This. The word "overrated" is actually pretty terrible and unnecessary. It's overly generalizing, ignorant, and is basically saying "EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG, IGNORANT, OR BIASED WHILE I AM RIGHT"like for example I like Mega Man 4 more than any other Mega Man but the general opinion is usually that 2 is the best and 4 is among the worst i feel like 4 is better but i'm not gonna say 2 is "overrated" because it has plenty of merits that I can totally understand people liking more than what I like about 4 and even then I know plenty of people who love Mega Man 4 so yeah i'm not gonna say anything
  24. My favorite trainer battle theme is probably Kanto. Although I also love the remix in HGSS. I also really like the gym battle theme from Kanto in HGSS. Favorite champion theme is Iris. Really like the feeling it has. White 2 actually has my favorite soundtrack for a game, despite the fact that I actually really disliked the game. My favorite rival theme is also from BW2. It's really fast and energetic. Although that guy's actually my least favorite rival, his whole story was just... stupid. But by far my favorite song in a Pokemon game is this absolute masterpiece http://youtube.com/watch?v=WuhqoZvyntA beautiful shut up it counts
  25. Oswin is a badass unit and I really like his character. Starts with high stats, stats are good for attacking and defending, good support options, great promotion... He's just a great unit in general (oh GOD that was the second time I accidentally made that pun today) He's a great character too. I really like his interactions with Hector in Hector Mode. He's part of what made me like Hector Mode so much in the first place. It really adds a lot not only to him, but also to Hector as a character. I'm voting for Bors because his face is absolutely beautiful
