  1. Hmmm, killing aside how about fighting? I guess Damian(or Aiya) and Reika are the most likely to go into a PvP match at the moment but unlike bandits I really can't imagine people playing fair in such circumstances (Npc's people probably won't cheat unless they're being dealt a lethal blow). The world blows when you have to rely on the honesty of people XD Since it's like relying on a paddle boat to take you around the world, possible (is it?) but hardly unlikely XD Also wandering, what's the wait time? I think I recall you saying something about attacking more then one opponent at once but it might of been someone else. Either way it'd be unfair for 2~3 people to take all the kills. But waiting for everyone to have posted can sometimes take forever and a bit.
  2. Reika hurried forward as a bandit seeminly appeared out of nowhere and attacked the deserters. She had assumed they'd all be back with the crowd. And had been careless, she watched as a helpless villager fell to the floor in a crimson mess. "tch" she clicked her tongue in disapproval before dashing forward at the bandit Edit: OOC Uhh just realised but I can kind of wipe out all the normal bandits by myself >_> My 8Evd means even if they role a 6 in accuracy it's still only 7Hit :/ Cheap XD Edit2: OOC Uhh right, forgot to count Ether's age.... uhh they were Making babies before marriage? XD Fine I'll change it XD
  3. Wow, all that effort and all I needed was to call his crying "cry baby" XD As for your question I make stuff up as I go :P If it was a real person I'd act a bit more.... well just a bit differently, but in the RP scenario, I find death nothing more then a useful tool. Anyway, battles have started and I have no idea what's going on, are we supposed to roll the die's ourselves? O_o Or do we just post some short paragraph about us attacking a bandit? Edit: Guess we role ourselves then :/ So easy to cheat it's funny XD
  4. Sorry about that, in Kelas's post about collecting wood and preparing a fire I figured it was much later in the day, opposed to the day before Esphyr killed the wolves. And since I thought you were getting ready for sleep I concluded it was evening. Though that said the original post is.... weird. "It wasn't even noon yet" made me think it was nearly noon. And frankly midday is a bit late for the streets to start bustling. Though I guess they have nothing better to do so they can laze about. Ah well sorry about that XD ~Random Village Man A's story~ The old man face grew red with anger and humiliation. He couldn't tell the man to get out if he had family here. The mayors words were apparently enough to confirm the truth in the soldiers words. What the man didn't think fondly of at all was that the relative was the mayor. A long time ago, when he was but a youth himself a small skirmish had broken out between Vaorin and Halton, back then Vaorin wasn't in the sorry state it was in now and the two thought nearly on equal terms. While the battle resolved itself quickly, it wasn't quick enough to save his one and only son who had gone to the battle. Shortly after his wife would die of heartache. His best friend (the current mayor) who had promised to have their children wed had his daughter go off to wed a Halton man of all people. Disgusted their friendship ended their and things may have gotten ugly had the Azure Demon Lord not rised and wreaked havoc across the land. A few years later the heroes would seal the demon lord away. It wasn't long after that the mayor elections were held. And while both had competed, the mayor who had built his daughters husband, a hero of the land into his campaign won a landslide victory. Growling angrily, the man turned and stampeded off, a few other turned and followed, a look of disgust on all their faces. The old man wasn't the only one that thought that the mayor was a lackey of the Halton empire. But most stayed put, either because they trusted the mayor, or because they were too scared to fight themselves. The men who had dropped their sachets of gold slowly picked theirs up before following the old man down the street. Reika too bent down and picked up her own savings, but not without swiping two small pouches and concealing them in her own money bag. She walked away slowly, if it belonged to someone on her side she'd return the pouches, but if it was someone who supported the mayor, well she'd be eating meat tonight. Noticing that no other men were leaving the gathering she smiled to herself, chicken or beef? she asked herself before hurrying after the old man.
  5. Oww Poo, fine I'll suck it up Though if you feel a dagger thrust in between the gaps in your armor it's probably me But I suppose Snowy won't let me kill of his players so I'll be good and kill of your soldiers instead then! That aside, I think it's best to leave the Crimson Weapons in terms of plot to Snowy since it seems to be an essential plot tool. Though due to your close relation to the CW I guess Snowy will PM you any details you need to know sooner or later, all the rest of us can do is simply question what the hell these pretty red shiny toys are. Don't mind throwing me in the deep end, I figure it'd be more fun to worm out of something then have everything go my way, and I sure as hell aren't withholding myself from cornering people. I mean, due to my unneccessarry whining, we now know about a dead sister, that he's a cry baby, and that his grandpapa is the mayor of some remote backwater hole of a village XD
  6. Of course ;) Why else would I be doing this? :P Though I guess you win this round, it's a bit hard for even myself to tell an old man he can't trust his grandson, and I don't really feel like demanding proof with either my "old man" or Reika since it's not their place to demand such proof. You win this one, but you can't have two granfather!!! You remember this!!! *Runs off in a typical villainy fashion* Nicely played though Anyway, as I said I don't want you to change your posts this time, or any other time. I just thought that discussion here would be fun umm nice, to maintain activity in regards to the RP. As for the Crimson weapons, I'm not convinced, you're right, they were developed as "mighty weapons to be used against the Lord of Azure Flame and his followers should he ever break loose". However the raw material remains as hellfire, or the demon lords connection to hell. Whatever it is, I don't think it's friendly, The blacksmith "shattered the crystals before they could rip apart the emblem through their immense pressure". This seems to indicate that the crystals, the raw materials for the crimson weapons weren't a mechanism of sealing the Demon Lord but a last ditch effort by the demon king to break free. I'm not really sure what Snowy had in mind but the idea of a blacksmith using light magic is.... weird. And I doubt he could truly neutralise crystalised fragments of hell. Even if he was aided by say several renowned Light mages (likely) I'd still think they'd lack the power needed to keep it neutralised forever. Also while reading the paragraph I noticed "demonic remnants stole what weapons they could and hid them away within children, hoping that they would be capable of hiding them until they could gather their forces once again to break the emblem." So again, if the vibes are so easy to distinguish I don't see why they'd do that. Though on the contrary it does explain why the blacksmith would teach Damian how to distinguish the crimson weapons I suppose. Important: How do you expect myself or anyone else to continue the RP? I mean, it's fine for those who can ignore the mayor, but I can't exactly control him and say "Wait, no, you're not my grandson" can I? And obviously I don't have any information regarding Clarissa. So nyeh, do something! XD
  7. Hmm, that's a point of concern for me, I wouldn't mind if it was more like "I sense Crimson vibes nearby, someone here has a Crimson Weapon" but the scenario thus far has been something along the lines of, "Hey hundreds of people, I sense vibes from.... that one, they have it!!!!" I kind of saw a link between a Shaman's powers and Demon Lord weapons, so no real issue there, both are in the magical field, I honestly had forgotten Damians father was the blacksmith so I guess your statement is more then plausible. Though I don't see why the father just wouldn't tell you where the weapons are, I mean he was a part of the giving away of them surely, though I guess he could be dead and not able to respond to such questions XD I thought about the bandit identification in that way at first too, but bandit aren't a type of people, it's an occupation. I assume when most people think of bandits they think of the FE's axe wielding big muscle men, but the Sacaean Nomads could be bandits as well, Just need to shift contracting mercenary work to, pillaging and taking by force, a scenario I don't think would be too uncommon, I mean mercenaries are abundant and at the "quest shop" the only thing available was a wolf hunt, and there wasn't any other work there. While I agree that bandit=axe wielding big man, I think it's.... uncreative to make that an defining characteristic. So mannerism, well maybe as a coincidence this time, but I wouldn't think it's a strong enough indicator to go upto someone and rip their shirt each time. As for which would I side with? Neither, soldiers aren't angels, there's good ones and bad ones. And in troubled times, trusting authority isn't always the best choice, mind you they're outside Halton so they're not even in an area under their jurisdiction, and since each nation is having internal law enforcement issues I'd think a bunch of soldiers wandering around in the wild to be.... suspicious, to say the least. With weakened nations now would be an opportune time to expand ones borders don't you think? That said I wouldn't side with bandits, no. I find the bandit standing around and letting you rip his clothes a bit... nyeh, plus the fact it miraculously unvealing the tattoo a bit of a stretch, I mean, if I was up to no good and a strange man (nevermind the fact he's an authorital figure) came running towards me I'd either fight back/resist or at least run. It's all good though, we all have to make things go the way we want to. I'd like to challenge that, the weapons were built by the blacksmith (Damians father?) but the raw materials he used were Crystalised Hellfire and light magic. I refuse to believe that the intentions of the Crimson Weapons is to soley fight demons. Plus, they eat at your HP!!! Demon/Cursed blades for sure
  8. As she had suspected the men she'd noticed had been bandits, while she wasn't to happy about being fed information from a Halton dog, it was undeniably fact. Villagers here and there were laying down their arms in confusion, and turned their head as the soldier that she had seen earlier spoke out (Damian) Reika snorted as the soldier from earlier tried to placate the people, this was why she hated them, "They act all righteous and noble we're desperate, only to tax and enslave us afterwards" she mumbled to herself, "Just like they did in Araphane..." as her was about to replay the event of her past a nearby man grabbed her by the shoulder gently, startled she hit the mans hand away and backed away only to find the owner of the hand was just a concerned looking old man, probably in his late 40's or early 50's. "It's okay" he whispered gently, we won't let them do to us what they did to Araphane. She uncertainly nodded her head, she had learned trusting those with kind words to be the biggest mistakes she could make through experience. Seeing that Reika wasn't going to trust him he sighed before raising his fist in the air and bellowing in a voice that seemed way too energetic for the mans age. "Friends! Brothers! why should we trust these Halton dogs? What do they gain from helping us? Nothing! In these harsh times it's not uncommon for friends to betray eachother, Halton as big as they be can barely keep their own capital safe, do you really think they'd have time to worry about us? Brothers! Sisters! These soldiers are not our own, even if their intentions are good they won't stay here and protect us forever. A few days from now they'll be tucked away in their cosy homes in the city a world away from us villagers. This is our village, our homes, our children, it is our duty to protect them and that's what I shall do." Reaching into his coat he pulled out a worn out piece of cloth which he threw on the ground a few silver coins scattering through the dirt as it hit the ground with the unmistakable clink of coins. "I'd sooner be dead and buried then sell my seasoned old life to Halton, I swore my allegiance to Vaorin, and I won't sell it to no whippersnapper with sacks full of gold. A few cheers went up around the old man, and a few more pouches hit the dirt. Reika hesitated before throwing her sack of coins on the pile of discarded funds. Breathing in slowly she followed the mans example "My name is Sharon, and I was raised in the prison city of Araphane" she called out loudly, she wasn't enjoying the spotlight by any means but if this man was against receiving help from those soldiers they were on the same side for the moment. "When the Azure Demon fell and the stench of fear slowly started to lift from our devastated city the Halton scums came to our city, they promised us gold just as they promise you now, they promised us friendship, and they promised us peace. And what did they give us? Misery, misfortune, the city lies in ruins to this day! No, it's worse off now then it was before they came. Back then we had hope, we were able to hold our loved ones close each night, we might not have gotten three meals a day but we had eachother. Halton soldiers? Bandits? what's the difference? They both took what I held dear and now here they are again, who's to say they're not escorting this Duke Leonard to the lost throne of Vaorin?" Just as she said the name she could her surrounding quickly get anxious, "Duke Leonard, isn't he that no good peeping-Tom?" a man asked concerned. "You mean that noble from Halton that is said to have round up an entire village of girls for his own pleasure?" "No way" "I'm not letting go of my Susy, not to some lecherous old creep I won't" rumours and truth alike ran rampant amongst the people. Reika wasn't exactly sure who this Leonard was but saying the voice out loud seem to have done her cause good gaining confidence she looked over at the man who seemed pleased. "What would a Duke be doing in these parts anyway? An Escort? To where? There's nothing in these parts that a man who has it all would want anywhere." "Surely these men in Halton suits are being untruthful about their intentions." "We can not trust them! If we are to rally under a banner it will be the the banner of Vaorin, not the banner of some mutt from Halton!" A significant amount of villagers raised their voices this time, the soldiers story didn't add up, and there was no proof he wasn't being dishonest. Reika watched in awe as people raised their farming tools, she couldn't understand why they'd taken pride in Vaorin, it was pretty much a lost nation now, with the exception of the three big three the same applied everywhere else across the continent. Either way she wasn't about to watch as she watched the tragedy of Araphane occur again. She looked over at the Halton soldiers who'd been having their own rant over there but she couldn't possibly see how they could argue their point across now. While the violence had stopped, calls for the soldiers to get out of the town slowly but steadily grew louder.
  9. Hmm, the only thing I can think of is a massacre :/ (go figure, right? XD) I mean, if the company of soldiers don't travel with the main group what do they do? I doubt you're willing to make Damian and Aiya discard their military duties for personal interest (crimson weapons) so the Duke needs to be dealt with one way or another. (He can be pressumed dead and return later I suppose) Alternatively I suppose you can have Halton give Damian specific orders to keep an eye on the Crimson Wielders, but that kind of puts Damian in a.... well dislikable position. Soldiers are so hard to deal with :/ Whatever you choose I don't see a way Damian can retain his.... position(?) and go with the group. (Not without his entourage coming along with the Wielders anyway)
  10. Just to clarify Ether, I didn't pick on Damian because you control him :P I just figured judging by Reika's past I'd make her not like guards, it's easier to roleplay since I myself don't really like authority that much. I still hold a grudge against that police officer for accusing me of doing drugs cause my "eyes are thin" >_> I'm bloody asian I apologize that my frickin eyes aren't huge like yours >_> Anyway ranting aside, I'm not really fond of the idea of everyone getting together and being chummy, conflict=entertainment in these types of things and the last thing I want is to be in a war/fantasy RP where everyone acts like they're at a formal english tea party. It's really up to you how you respond to Reika's attitude but at the very least I can easily forsee a mutual dislike between Aiya and Reika, not sure how Damian will act, probably like a friendly old goofball :P Either way, time to go scheme some other evil plan XD That said, I don't mean to boss you around or take over control but you might want to hold back on Damians perception skills. Assuming he'd been trained to somehow tell Crimson Wielders apart from normal people, I find it kind of hard to imagine someone knowing a bandit on sight. Since essentially they're mercenaries that don't play the rules. You've enforced and validated that he was a bandit with the "tattoo" but bandit come in all shapes and builds, furthermore I don't really see bandits all having a "bandits tattoo" assuming bandits do mark themselves with tattoo's I'd imagine they'd be different from faction to faction, and the idea of a all-round tattoo labeling bandits is.... pushing it. I also find it hard to believe a fear sticken village would suddenly calm down just after seeing a few bandits. I agree with your morals ideology, but just as bandits pillage, soldiers take over as a new authoritarian body. (occupational force) So it wouldn't make them all suddenly trust the soldiers. I'd just like to state seperately that I'm not attacking you, (despite what it looks like XD If you know me then you know this is just the way I am) I'm just critically pointing out things I thought are a bit.... off? I'm not demanding you change it, I don't want you to, but this is a feedback thread after all, and while Snowy's the creator, essentially, we're all the writers.
  11. Reika frowned, something was wrong, there seem to be several men going against the flow. Yet these men seemed to be emphasizing her lies. despite inciting the riot herself she didn't feel comfortable with these men supporting her lies. Sensing something similar to herself about these men, Reika quickly turned back. At least the people have been evacuated, though if they weren't after the people what were they after?.... Since they seem to be supporting the evacuation that could only mean one thing. Catching a whiff of petroleum she knew this couldn't end well. "Today's just full of surprises" she muttered as she headed back to the town square.
  12. I don't think so, I've already been a bit of a "super-being" by killing the guy in the alley earlier, and frankly unlike Helios Reika isn't stupid enough to attack a group of guards :P I mean we're a mage and thief for christs sake, if we were say a Armored Knight and Mercenary/Myrm I'd consider it, but I just don't see Reika risking her life to help a mage (or anyone else). And due to her past she sort of has a phobia/dislike towards guards. So I'm going to power-play the entire village XD (See RP thread)
  13. Reika sighed in relief as the girl (Morgan) disappeared from sight. Despite the silver coin in her hand she couldn't make herself like the girl. But then again she'd learned by now that trusting others was only a precursor to getting betrayed and hurt. Shrugging the uncomfortable feeling off she wandered in the opposite direction to where (Aiya) the guards she'd seen earlier were. People seem to be gathering around something and she couldn't hold her curiosity in check. A boy with long green hair fighting a group of guards. She frowned to herself as one of the guards fell not far from her, it wasn't the uniform of the local militia and wasn't of Halton design either. As she was pondering the origin of these soldiers the green haired boy fell to the ground, his shoulder pierced. "Idiot" she muttered before turning away, while they looked nothing alike, her brother had been about the boys age when he was executed. "Brother...." she hesitated, taking a look back at the boy she sighed, "Here goes nothing". Looking amongst the crowd she picked out a few figures which had fear plastered over their faces. Closing her eyes and focusing she too mimicked their expression and slowly walked up to one of them, "Th-the Halton soldiers they're planning to invade" she stuttered trembling. "There's a few hundred over the hills that way. We need to get out of here." She quickly ran into the crowd ahead and smiled satisfied as the man started screaming in fear. She knew it wouldn't take much to scare these people, they were already on edge but to think it'd go this easily. As confusion ran rampant across the gathered crowd this time she walked up to a woman who was clutching her child closely. "Th-the soldiers, they murdered the mayor, we're all going to die." The woman too screamed in fear and the crowd suddenly rushed towards the exit. Not satisfied she made up a few more stories and spread them across the stampeding crowd. She'd done what she could, she looked over at where the soldiers were, and was relieved to see them battling against a torrent of civillains. She couldn't see the boy either but with this many people about it wasn't much of a surprise. "Tch, Charity work" she mumbled before obeying the flow of people and running herself.
  14. Nyii, not to nitpick but what's the difference between "arrested" and "taken off" they both consist of restraining Esphyr and taking her off to some dark place with lots of hairy men that want a piece of her right? XD
  15. Okay now I'm confused, I know you didn't attack Damien directly, or Aiya and her group sitting in the middle of town. But judging by the following comment. I assumed you meant the ones he made up earlier If not what other soldiers have been introduced by Ether thus far?
  16. Hmm, don't know about Snowy, but not getting exp for plot kills is... well... obvious. I mean, I could say "Reika in a fit of rage started randomly attacking any villager in her line of sight" within minutes I'd level up :/ I also think that Kai's attack on Ether's "base camp" soldiers is a good thing, since I wasn't sure how you'd deal with them later. I mean were you planning to travel around with a company of soldiers? And at least now we can't travel with both Kai and Damien's troops together XD Very interesting plot device me thinks.
  17. I don't know, I kinda want to kill Damien and his lackeys XD Regarding the OOC, may I suggest for extensive conversations (like Kai and Ethers Soldier issue you either bring it here or over in the sign up thread? Since it's a pain to check back only to find someone saying "hey don't attack me" XD
  18. Reika reached for her daggers but stopped when she noticed the girl wasn't a soldier. "You're hurting me miss" she said wincing as the girl held her shoulders, thought to be honest the womans grip was hardly firm she decided to play the innocent little girl regardless. The older girl removed her hands but the urgency in her eyes didn't dull the slightest. Reika felt a shiver run down her spine for what felt like the hundredth time that day. Something was wrong with this girl, her eyes were.... clouded. As if she'd delved into something mankind was never supposed to touch. Finally coming to her senses Reika opened her mouth. "Umm crimson blade?" she asked cocking her head to the side. Havng grown up away from people she wasn't exactly familiar with legends, though she'd heard rumours about some sort of special weapons the three large kingdoms were looking for. "I'm sorry, I don't know" she replied hesitantly, "though there was a woman over that way who was getting arrested by a soldier. If that woman had a crimson weapon I guess Halton are arresting anyone with such weapons"
  19. (OOC: Umm just to make sure, you are aware that most of us don't have our Crimson weapon equipped by default right Ether? So there's no "normal" way of telling it's a crimson weapon, either way you'd need to have some sort of power to tell it's a crimson weapon anyway. Though speaking from the inevitable gathering of the Crimson weapons I'd like to suggest that the Crimson weapons are drawn to eachother.) Reika gasped as a woman- no, a girl, came running around the corner. She'd only made it next street over when the girl nearly knocked her off her feet. Making a mental note on how fast the girl reacted after seeing her, and the way her eyes flickered to her sword first she smiled warmly at the girl. "Hi, wonderful day for a little excercise right?" she chirped cheerfully ignoring the expression the girl made. "Umm, not to pry, but those soldiers aren't chasing... umm I mean comming this way by any chance?" Reika maintained her smile while making quick notes about the girl, seemed like a wandering mercenary, not that they were uncommon, but judging from the way she stood she wasn't by any chance new to the business. A quick look at the girls sword confirmed her conclusion. Just as she finished her analysis, she heard the sound of boots comming their way. She thanked her brother for teaching her how to pick out the sounds before looking at the girl again, "They're comming" she muttered before rushing off into the crowd again, she took a quick glance at the girl and caught sight of a armoured man in the process. "Tch, she's lost" she mumbled"
  20. Funny how the number of females in this RP double that of males (If Aiya(Ether)) gets included. Usually it's the other way around. Though 8 people isn't much, so I guess we can expect a few more hopefully Mind you Phoenix still has yet to post >_< Come on you overgrown birdie that got attacked by a teenie with a match and deodarant can! Post! :P
  21. "Damn it" Reika cursed quietly as she entered the flow of people again, all that hard work for a few measley coins, she had been hoping for enough to pay for a bath but doing so would probably bankrupt her. She frowned a bit, it didn't matter how many times she killed she still couldn't get used to this... smell? It was like a cloud of death or something that followed you around, infecting her senses and mind. She was surprised people weren't reporting her as a suspicious character. She sighed heavily not really paying her attention to her surroundings when the man infront of her suddenly stopped. Barely preventing herself from walking into him, Reika winced and took a look around, the flow of people had stopped, they all seemed to be looking at something, but what could be so interesting to stop this hussle and bussle? Not being able to make it through the crowd to take a look, she closed her eyes and listened from behind a wall of people. While there were worried murmurs here and there, she could hear a man talking, which were followed by the clinks of moving armor. Reika felt a shiver go down her spine, had they found the dead man in the alley already? A second later she shook her head, murder wasn't exactly uncommon these days and she found it hard to belive that the city guard would react this quickly. She focused again, focusing all her attention into decyphering the mans voice, when a nearby woman mumbled somthing about Halton soldiers. She felt a cold breeze despite it being a relatively warm evening. In her mind Haltonians, especially armoured Haltonians equated to tax collectors, senseless ruffians which would bring misfortune as they had in the past. Not thinking properly she quickly turned and tried to run through the crowd, it didn't matter where as long as it was far away from those soldiers.
  22. Sounds more like a political stunt to me then anything. Though I really don't see how insuring a few million people is going to make the economy any better. I actually don't understand what this is about, is it a moral thing? Or something about rebuilding the medical system to make it less costly? And if you tell me both next you'll be telling me it prevents global warming and saves the Polar bear >_> Does the bill cover Polar bears? While I'm not entirely sure of the specifics, this doesn't sound like switching to an entirely new system which will save the nation, but as many have said before me, a move to communism, and while I'm not against communism in the slightest as a system. I don't see how the supposed "Leader of the Free Worlds" can retain their title when introducing legislation like this. Not too impressed with the timing of this either, if Obamacare is so important why is it being rushed in? I know we don't like greedy fat politicians using our tax money to sit around and argue over nothing, but that's essentially what we're paying them to do, do scrutinize policies. And it feels like they're trying to throw it in and right back out as law. While the article is a bit old, this website listed many essential points that are pretty much undeniable. http://maggiesfarm.anotherdotcom.com/archives/10836-Top-Ten-Reasons-For-ObamaCare-Are-Based-On-False-Information.html

    FRP

Hmm, depends on your definition of "any ideas?" Are you asking the public for ideas regarding an RP? (plot) or asking for ideas/thoughts regarding your action of wanting to start an RP? Either way a Forum Role-play is pretty much impossible due to the lack of interest in roleplaying, the idea of Roleplaying seems to have been all but dead here until Snowy_One's Azure Demon thingy, and even that only received a few responses. When you say RP I assume you mean an RP based on the Fire Emblem world, or at least something which fits the fantasical setting. Personally I recommend you join Snowy_One's RP and see how well it goes, if you think there's enough interest and you could pull off a better job then by all means set it up. However with 6(ish?) people being the only responders (Of which half claim to be new to RP's) I'd say you're just unneccessarily splitting the interest of an already small group. But as I said, if you think you could do a better job then it might get more interest and increase the chances of an RP which last for longer then a few days.
  24. Reika smiled cheerfully as she arrived at the small settlement of Darien. It'd been an awfully long time since she'd seen a crowd this big, and the bigger the crowd, the better. She reached in her pocket and felt around for anything she had left from her last "hunt". 3 gold peices and 5 silvers she mumbled, not bad but if she didn't recharge her finances here she might get in trouble later. With a sweet smile on her face she wandered into the crowds of Darien-folk while looking for her next prey. Reika winced as someone stepped on her foot for the fourth time, it was great that there were so many people about, but with this many people about it was hard to do walk straight, much less achieve a good catch. While it wasn't surprising the people here weren't that rich either, and she didn't feel like risking her neck for a few silver peices, that said there wouldn't be any nobles in this rural slum, and merchants these days were harder to steal from then town-guards. She sighed and headed for an alleyway. Every alley had a boss these days, and theses "bosses" would be relatively wealthy due since they charged a toll to anyone that wandered into their alley. As she approached Reika grinned at the sight of a burly scarred man holding a young boy up by his neck. Making sure she wasn't being watched she approached the duo with an innocent face, "Umm excuse me sir" she inquired with a worried expression. The man who had been beating the boy senseless glared at her and snapped "what do you want wench?". Reika paused uncertainly before replying "I just arrived here and I seem to be lost, I'd be really happy if you could escort me to the inn" she said in a pleading tone whilst reaching into her pocket and pulling out the 3 gold peices. The man grinned as he dropped the boy and trudged over to her. "Oh no missy, the inn here is full, but it's your lucky day you can stay at my place for free" the man said leering. Reika desperately stood her ground, the man didn't scare her but his breath probably could kill her nonetheless. She looked at the mans glinting teeth and counted, silver, black, yellow and.... is that tooth green? She looked at the mans eyes and smiled, "thank you sir but I couldn't do such a thing for free, I know it's not much but at least accept these" she said thrusting the 3 gold peices into the mans hands, "and I'll pay you the remaining 7 peices when we arrive". The man seemed dumbfounded but pocketed the gold quickly. "If you say so missy, just follow me" the man pulled her arm and deeper into the alley. As they passed the battered boy Reika smiled and waved at the boy who shot her a nasty glare. A few moments later she could hear the boy noisily scampering away. They come pretty far now and after making sure they were clearly out of sight Reika suddenly wrapped her arms around the mans waist "It's so dark here" she whimpered. The man scoffed and looked down at her, his eyes eyeing her body. Reika winced, mentally vomitting at the stench of the man, if he wasn't loaded with gold this sure as hell wasn't worth it. She turned away from the man and her eyes landed on a set of golden eyes watching them from behind a trash can. At that moment the eyes closed and darted away into the darkness tipping the trashcan over in the process. Startled the man looked up at where the eyes had been. "Calamity" she said as a crimson red aura swirled about and solidified between her hands, within a few seconds the man had a new hole in his neck to breathe out of. Reika smirked down at the man who was opening and closing his mouth like a gold fish. "Oh sir, whatever is the matter?" she asked sarcastically giving the mans head a good kick. She quickly retreived her 3 gold peices, and searched the man for anything else. 4 silver, Septimian silvers. She sighed deeply before kicking the man in the head again. Realising there was nothing to be gained here anymore she quickly turned around and ran back towards the exit and into the crowd. Not realising the spatter of blood that had hit her neck.
  25. Just finished Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 Pretty impressed, the art seems sort of half-arsed (characters) and the setting isn't anything impressive. Furthermore there are no bad guys. An anime with no baddies? Blasphemy so there's no battle scenes, or even romantic/comedy based events. It felt really boring and first and looking back I'm not sure what kept me going, but it took me awhile to notice I'd become pretty interested in the characters. Something which I think is essential to a good anime (or any creative work), since even the most intriguing plot is utter crap without at least a few characters that you like, right? 3.8/5 from me. A prime example of a good length anime. Unlike those crappy fillerspastic animes that get dubbed and show on kids channels
