Any reason why you think this is so great? Because I don't see it as being nearly as good as you're hyping it up to be.

It's a good boost(the equivalent of +10 Skl&Spd, or 30 Lck, in Fates) that the character will have most of the time. Not always granted, but I wouldn't judge it harshly just for that, and you typically want your characters at max health anyway.

The hit rates we've seen on many screenshots also look less than ideal.

Edit: From what we've seen of the fighter's stats screen, the formula for accuracy this time around is looking like it'll be just plain skill x1. No luck, no higher multiplier. Same for avoid being AS x1. So he's getting sizeable boosts from his personal skill all in all.

Its not a spoiler when its obvious in context from the trailer also your 'spoiler" makes no sense.....

Again, it's very much not. For you it is because you've known about the leaks for a long time, but you didn't know that when the first trailer released, at best you interpreted it that way and that's it. Are you going to tell me than when Thanibomb revealed this, it surprised nobody? Because that's pretty easy to disprove. You are potentially going to spoil people here, the only question is whether you care or not.

Also I'm trying not to do what I'm telling you not to do. If you were to change your mind and edit your posts, it would be pointless if my side of the conversation still revealed what we were talking about.

    Spoiler

Disagreed, that could also mean she leaves your party and never returns. Or it could be a prophetic dream showing of events you'd try to stop. Implications aren't facts.

Most importantly it's just beyond me that you'd rather take the time to justify potentially spoiling people rather than taking less time to simply put spoiler tags in your post. I don't get why you'd do that.

If we're not getting Kodachi or Wind Edges and assuming his/her personal whip-sword thing is 1-2-Range, Byleth is honestly the only character I see able to make Swordmaster really work.

It seems like it is, as coordinated attacks can only activate with units that can reach the enemy from where they are, and Byleth is included here even though he's at 2 range with his bonesword in hand:

  5. Paranoia is Rinkah's personal skill but slightly better. So it's good, that being said, relying on level ups(that may or may not give HP, she looks like the kind that would have a low HP growth too) or % damaging skills are both completely unreliable and not really relevant. Tonics can work, if they exist.
Agreed with high because it's still +5 damage though.

Wisdom to live... depends how good or bad thieves actually are. In essence I agree with your reasoning, though.

Live to serve is actually extremely niche, as healers very rarely take damage to begin with, nor can they usually withstand it. Most of us thought it was amazing in Fates, and truth is, in practice it really wasn't that useful. It's also completely useless for combat. I'd say it's an easy low.

Teacher's guidance is Corrin's nobility but better; I think most people considered it at least a high tier skill. Depends how exp works in this game, but I doubt it's anything worse than high.

Liege's Shield, I agree with your reasoning.

    Strategist, same.

Solitary Wolf has high tier potential. Felix seems like the kind of characters who'd have no trouble doubling everything, and early on you probably won't have money to provide everyone with battalions.

Prestigious Noble is a bonus on top of a bonus. Makes Lorenz the best choice for battalions(unless he sucks), too. It's just +2, but almost unconditional. I'd say barely high as well

Confidence I think is really good but Tsubaki made it mediocre somehow, so... sure, mid tier.

Prodigy, no way is it mid. Weapon Exp is shaping up to be e-ve-ry-thing in this game. It determines class changing, skills, battalions, access to mounts... the only way this could be anything else than top tier is if it didn't affect tutoring at all. Otherwise, good candidate for best in the game, for now.
Edit: Okay, I read too fast, it is for battle only. Still high tier imo.

Exp x1.2: I get that you want to show the distinction between Byleth's and this, but this is Nobility from Fates, and that was not a low tier skill. Top of mid at the very least.

Songstress is Azura's but worse(it was 2 range). Azura's was surprisingly nice, though, so I'm a bit torn, but I guess low tier is fine.

Plead: What you say is true, but co-ordinated attacks already encourage the player to mind their positioning to deal more damage. This is just an additional boost for male units on top of that, and +3 is nice. I'd say it's mid.

Scavenge: Yeah, it's awful, unless he has 60 base luck for some reason, and even then it'd barely be mid tier because 10% is too low. Hopefully he'll be good in other areas.

I'm sorry, who's Ingrid again?  I don't think we've heard as much about her as Hilda and Edelgard.  I have a hard time believing she'll be a "main girl" on par with them.

Was that first part sarcasm because I can't really help myself from at least signaling that I can give you this information

Not any more than the leaks are, Bernadetta could very well be a crest-bearer since she's now revealed to be of nobility and Hanneman's profile pretty much confirmed the crests will grant power.

Oh absolutely, I'm just teasing since there's still a chance they're a noble without a crest. Though from a gameplay perspective that sounds like a missed opportunity, unless we somehow get to recruit/fight one of her parents later.

    Cutest character confirmed?

I say don't sleep on Annette, the one good portrait we got of her doesn't do her justice. She's also best friends with Mercedes, so chances are she's a good girl. Bernadetta's a strong contender for sure though.
Additionally she seems to be the mage of the blue lions, meaning she may be the resident cute mage of this game.

    So that's confirmed, she's a noble.

Which also means she's confirmed to be a crucial member of the meta that is known as holy blood crests in this game.

Is that wishful thinking I'm smelling?:p

I actually think the 4th crest (well second clock wise) on Leicester belongs to Ignace's family, he looks like a nerd sure, but a fancy looking nerd.

We actually have a lot of male crest bearers, so I'm gonna say it'll be on a female.

    For reference:
Male: Dimitri Claude Hubert Lorenz Felix maybe Ferdinand, maybe Sylvain. 5 at worst, 7 at most.

Female: Edelgard Hilda, maybe Bernadetta. 2 or 3.

    Edit:

And the reasson i think so is durring a Feb direct, when they showcased GD students, we had a closeup on Claude, Ignace, Lorenz and Hilda, 3 out 4 are heirs to the alliance's familys.

    Oh, that's a good point.

  10. There's quite a bit of new stuff in this video. Most importantly, windmills(well, just one)! Also, some kind of building that's not looking religious or tied to studying. Maybe a shop?

This is the first outdoor shot(out of the twitter reveals anyway) that I can't quite locate in the monastery. I'd assume it's on the opposite section as the one with the classrooms, but that's about it.

Also, Sylvain is a blue dot on the map for some reason(everyone has been yellow thus far, including Dimitri, another Blue Lion)and seems to have a quest or something. Afaik, playable characters had only appeared as objectives, not quest givers.

That tome seems to specifically be the Dark magic one rather than Anima Magic one, which seems to be represented by the Black Book, so maybe Dark Magic has some kind of sacrifice skill like Micaiah's? I'm sure that Reason and Faith will parallel each other so maybe they both have healing AND damage but different forms of each.

She could also have both, with what appears as equipped being the last combat spell you used; in her case a reason-based one. It's very rare for staves to remain equipped on the character after all, healing magic could work the same.

For what it's worth, we don't see it very well, but, her light grey cape makes me think of some sort of holy class on this shot:
    EFS6ngH.jpg

Apparently she's not greyed out as a result of consuming her turn already either, as her lifebar would be darker and the light blue circle on the ground would have disappeared.

I assume that this is from the sparring match in the monastery. The map looks pretty crowded with the major option available is brute forcing the enemy. Graphically is a whole other story.

That doesn't really match with Byleth being promoted. I also doubt that this is taking place in the monastery itself, if I had to guess, the city we saw along the lower walls seem more logical to me. That's also a lot of sword users facing you.
Plus we already saw several shots of you fighting characters from other houses in the wooded environment.

There's the Church of Edda, established by Crusader Blagi. Which is a combination of the old religion before Loptyr took over, and Maira's teachings. Amusingly, it would make it heretical to the main Loptyr's church. Maira was definitely practicing and teaching a heresy of it, at least. Info here.

There's also the faith of Heim in FE5, which Safy regularly refers to as "god", and has churches here and there. Linoan, for all intents and purposes, seems to also be a practitioner of that faith. It's unclear how big it gets to be in a post Loptyr takeover world, though.
Edit: Actually I was basing this on Safy's Cipher cards directly mentioning Heim, but in them she also mentions multiple gods as opposed to a single one like she does in Thracia.

Saias, who is also from FE5, is supposedly a bishop of Blagi according to the wikia, for what it's worth. Like Linoan and unlike Safy, his character revolves around other themes first and foremost so it's hard to say for sure beyond him factually being a bishop of something.

Since classic mode is still there, it's impossible that we'll only have the characters of our choosen house : if they die, it'll be impossible to go through the game.

So, my theory is that at the start we'll just have our class, that we will fully customize, to fight bandits and other secondary missions (mock battles between houses...).

When shit begins to hit the fan, many people will start to join us. Jeralt and the other mercenaries from our group will come to our aid (if they didn't join earlier). Rhea will give us some Knights of Seiros (if she is the main villain, it would be interesting ; since these Knight could decide to stay with us or not.). The teachers will join too. And I can imagine that our house could form an alliance with another house, and that the students of this house will already be promoted. It could mean more drama if the third house decides to side with the villain or something.

In total it could be 25-30 characters, it seems reasonable. ^^

They could be expecting people to make good use of the turnwheel mechanic, or there could be some way to resurrect characters, like in Echoes. I'd prefer it to be your way, but I don't think it's guaranteed unfortunately.
