  1. Yeah, she kept doing insane damage to my team...
  2. How come? (Because there haven't been any other games in Magvel?) Thanks in advance! (I love SS.)
  3. What info has IS released about Choose Your Legends so far (it took me far too long to realise what CYL stood for so there you go, anyone else slow on the uptake :P)? Thanks in advance! But back when voting started, didn't they say the top pick for each gender would get a special outfit? From the wording I figured they at least would be given out for free. Adding a CYL banner on top of that would be great though. On topic: I'd love a Magvel banner, but I remember reading somewhere that (at least the fan consensus is that) IS hates acknowledging Sacred Stones outside of the twins? I assume that's a joke but does SS really get ignored that much (I've only been an active member of this community since Echoes)?
  4. I'd love this too! Sacred Stones did something similar by letting you unlock boss characters in the endgame, I really enjoyed that~
  5. So, Heroes simplifies the FE formula a bit (namely the removal of accuracy and critical hits as well as smaller maps and movement ranges) but also adds unique features, such as Seals and its own take on Skills. Which of these elements would you like to see worked into the main series? (First person to say "the gacha system" gets shot out of a pistol). I personally would love to see the fixed growth rates carry over into the main games (since I've never been a fan of RNG :P)
  6. That depends on whoever's doing the character designs.
  7. IS already went through the trouble of renaming all the weapons and classes for Hoshido/ Fates, so what if they took that to the logical extreme and based the next game in a Japan-inspired kingdom(s)?
  8. That solves the issue of missable characters but not the issue of missing story content. I really like how Gaiden/ SoV allowed you to play both routs at the same time. Using Sacred Stones as an example, what if the siblings met up as normal but split a la Gaiden and kept the parties they started with? Ephraim's group would be tiny but you could give him all the new characters and/ or redo his maps to have fewer enemies to compensate.
  9. TIki's definitely in Warriors now, wonder why they showed that amiibo now (unless there really WILL be another remake...) Anyway, they acknowledged the "too many swords" complaint so it'll be interesting to see what they do with that moving forward.
  10. I personally prefer F!Corrin and M!Robin's default designs so that's fine by me. That said, I'm really glad they went with F!Corrin to balance the genders at least a little. That said, even though we already knew these five characters would be in in annoys me how every single playable character we have so far is a sword user. There's a minimum possible line up of 14 characters at launch (1 more than Hyrule Warriors) and already 7 of them are sword wielders (8 if all three OCs use swords), even though that's explicitly something IS wanted to avoid. Also, although I'm okay with "the power of friendship" speeches most of the time this trailer took it to a whole new level...
  11. Wait, are you just guessing or was this teased somewhere? Don't toy with my heart like that.
  12. Ah, that makes much more sense :P Thanks!
  13. (The title is a bit weird but it's the best I could come up with.) Basically, which pre-Awakening game do you WANT to see remade for purely personal reasons and which game do you think SHOULD be remade for logical reasons (e.g. because it introduced new concepts/ mechanics that have since been abandoned)? As an example, I think we should get Binding Blade remade next since Roy is familiar to the Western audience due to Smash and because we already got Blazing Blade here (which even ended with a slight sequel hook for Binding). On the other hand, I would like to see a remake for Sacred Stones for being yet another game with a World Map, having branching promotions and because it was my first FE (and thus I have a sentimental attachment to it). So have at it! For the sake of those who haven't played every entry in the series, please be as spoiler free as possible :)
  14. Is it true that Masked Marth can't be merged with another copy of herself (to get a Level 40+1 version)?
  15. I love it, especially the blend of old and new.
  16. Slightly OT, but still relevant enough to mention here I think: I imagine it's too late for FE 2018, but given the "too many swords" issue Warriors seems to be having (or not), do you think IS will try to avoid Sword Lords for FE17 (at least)?
  17. I saw "Cleric Lord" on page 2 and fell in love with the idea. It would be cool to play as a support role Lord at least once and a Cleric would also be a perfect fit for the Tactician role, since they're typically on the back lines and supervising the other Units anyway (also: if anyone's read/ seen Log Horizon, the Lord would basically be Shiroe and that is awesome). The only downside is that as a Cleric the Lord wouldn't be scoring any heroic kills against bandits and monsters and final bosses (unless s/he gets a staff version of Falchion or something) so would probably only work when paired with an offensive Lord. At least they could get a horse on promotion for that extra mobility though. I love the idea of an Axe-wielding female and was surprised to see the idea come up already, but I guess it was for the same reasons I wanted one :P I agree that it would be nice to have a sole - or at least primary - female protagonist though. Apart from that, I'd love a Lance or Bow Lord. If there are multiple Lords, I'd like one to be an older character too (like the Cleric Lord I mentioned above) and on top of that I would love another Rags to Riches/ happiness story - this time with the protagonist staying a middle class citizen throughout (the only exception being if they marry into the throne).
  18. I half expected some of the responses this got but it's really interesting seeing what everyone has to say. I have a few ideas myself but keep in mind that I haven't played Awakening or Fates, so there's your warning before I go any further: I know Corrin isn't very popular as a character but I still think the Avatar as the main (or at least secondary) character can work. My only wish is that they work on how s/he's implemented, because from what I've seen of Fates and Awakening the CG cutscenes really stretch themselves to work the Avatar in (namely by obscuring their face or having 1st Person cameras, the latter of which I'm okay with). What IS could do maybe give the Avatar a fixed name or title for the others to refer to them by regardless of gender or allegiance. They could also have a single male and single female voice so the Avatar can be voiced in cutscenes without needing to record the same lines over and over again (and maybe make it so that they're always gloved so you can have first person shots of their hands). I had some other ideas to "normalise" the different possible designs, but they all involved dialing back the amount of customisation which seems to be unpopular here too so I think I'll refrain :P As for their weapons; I like both approaches of them having a unique class and the ability to customise their class, so perhaps a compromise: you play a prologue with a small team of characters, each with one of the main weapon types AFTER which you design your character. They would have a unique class, but you could determine the weapon they use, e.g. instead of "Tactician" you would have "Lance Tactician", "Sword Tactician", etc (I know those names are terrible but bear with me). As for Supports, it makes sense from a mechanical perspective for a self-insert to be able to get to S-class with everyone though I get that this could make them and the other characters inconsistent. The only solution I have for this is to spend time on the Supports so that they make sense (e.g. having a relationship with the shy one makes as much sense as the brash one) - which is admittedly a challenge and may require adding further support levels (which I'm fine with, not counting the additional work needed) - and limit everyone else's supports instead (and these could be the standard C to A Supports instead). As for making sure the Avatar's personality is what each player wants it to be, there could be dialogue options. These could be only for non-plot critical moments (e.g. Link in BOTW can be a jerk to people but still wants to save the day) or to unlock side chapters (i.e. you get tasked to save and recruit a new character if you're polite to their friend), though the latter could get annoying if you want to play a certain way and still want to see everything the game has to offer - maybe you'd just get those side chapters earlier (and/ or easier versions) if you're kind instead. I feel like there's something I wanted to say but am forgetting, but I just wanted to throw my hat in the ring since I was the one who made the thread in the first place :P
  19. Posted the above comment one minute ago.
  20. Barring "take the Avatar out", this extends to all facets of the Avatar - customisation options; whether they're a main, secondary or tertiary character (like Mark in FE7); supports; weapon and promotion options; everything. I'm curious to see what ideas you all come up with!
  21. After the Wolf lands from the grapple point in front of the badniks along the giant "stairs", you can see him grappling directly onto two of them (and destroying them), so presumably you'll still have access to a form of the Homing Attack for enemy-based platforming, it just won't maintain momentum as a traditional Homing Attack would. From the information available so far, what animal do you think you'll make first?
  22. It's so awesome of you to be here, welcome to SF and thank you for dropping by! You were absolutely incredible as Alm and I look forward to catching your stream when I can! Really, 8-4 absolutely NAILED every single one of the VAs in this game :3
  23. Well said. I hope full voice acting is now the standard for FE as Echoes was absolutely phenomenal.
  24. I know what you're referring to (the one-off level where you play as Ephraim), but what do you mean by that?
  25. I've noticed this too and...yeah At least Eirika stays prominent in FE8 if you pick her route over Ephraim's (though she doesn't exactly steal the spotlight either).
