  1. Since you guys mentioned "scrubbing" the English supports, for the supports that received major changes in the English version (Kanna's S-Ranks, Soleil, Zero and Rhajat's S-Ranks with Kamui), are you guys going to translate the original Japanese supports and keep those, or base them of the localization supports?

Translate. As is what were doing with everything else. We'll scrub of NoA changes something.

I'd love to help with translations! Is there a document with a link that I may have access to? I've taken 5 years of Japanese (and ongoing), so I can help translate quite a bit! Anything to help the newest patch to be released makes me more than glad to help!

PM me your Skype, please. Due to issues with public editing we need you to be in the Skype group, which also helps coordinayion, etc.

  2. Apologies I was reading 2 threads at once, was reading one for the undub. Sorry for the confusion. I'd still like to know why the majority is being translated and not the supports. I'm not being snide or anything, I'd just like to know if something about the games coding prevents it or something.

This is the one for the undub.... Wanna check your tabs again?

Can't wait for the amie to be patched back in! Thank you so much for doing this!

    Edit:

Question, will the amie use the american voice?

Also, how will you fill the ammie with cut dialogue, if that's the case? Use Japanese voices for those, and american voices for ending scene?

    Will it be a mix?

I don't mind whichever way you do it, but it was said the amie wouldn't have subtitles, so i think most people would like to understand what they're saying.

Amie will use American voices for the confession scenes, that's what's planned.

Also, a HANS undub is available already on Reddit. We're working on fixing the Kamui voices as of now, so sit tight and use that for now please.

  3. So are you saying that since the special edition has the Revelations path already on the cartridge then its possible to patch it? Is it safe to assume if I got the Noir version alone then when Revelations was released and I bought it in the DLC store then I could not patch it? Honestly I am not very sure how buying the other routes actually works.

Yup, it should be fine for SE users. As for patching DLC, you'll either already know how to (which is an advanced technique) or you'll have to take more grey routes that also requires <9.2 firmware.

  4. can i run the EU ver of Fate (if) on my EU 3ds (2ds actually), with the delocalization patch/content restore from {Team IF} so i have my region's fates with the third path include on the game (EU special edition which has all three paths in one cart) and have all the extra, special, spicy, sweet JPN content from the IF version?

We plan on making the patcher compatible with the European version of Fire Emblem: If/Fates too.

  5. So, apparently all of Kana's S supports and some other S supports were changed to be platonic. I haven't read any of these supports. But if possible, could you make a patch that keeps their C-A the same (maybe add some romantic buildup if necessary) and changes a few lines of their S support around to have them get married and also have their status on menus listed as married? That and swimsuits are all I really want.

We're not going to release a patch that changes the supports, unless you're talking about using files from the fan-translations. We won't do anything specific like this though; you'll have to figure it out on your own.

  6. Oh, sorry for the confusion!

Say I decide to use the undub patch, but I don't want the Amie petting, the Japanese voices would also affect the localized Amie, right?

So seeing the Japanese lines are way longer than the localized dialogues, how does that work out?

I'll check the library. If they're the same files, we'll just create a version of the undub that doesn't include Amie. (Honestly undubbing is very simple.)

If you were to use the Japanese Amie patch, well, that would be quite interesting. I have no idea what would happen.

  7. What I wonder currently is the undub's effectiveness during the Amie sequences. Since we know Amie lines/confessions are shortened and removed, there's already a problem for people who wish to keep Japanese voices BUT not use the Amie restoration patch. How will that part go, considering we won't be adding subs? Won't the Japanese overlap the localized confessions?

What do you mean? There's a double negative in what you just said.

  8. it wIll work using homebrew right? (im just being nervous, sorry for asking it again)

also, how about the DLC's? in case revelation, because revelation in NA SE is DLC, not in cartridge like JP SE, will the patch work for DLC?

    Thanks anyway

Yes, it is planned for Homebrew. Also if you don't know how the patch will work for DLC beforehand, then it's safe to say you won't be able to apply it.

Would installing the Japanese VA and Amie restoration patches corrupt or compromise the game or certain features of it and would this likewise happen to the region lock and functionality of my 3Ds? What are the potential side effects which could occur?

No, it wouldn't, for Homebrew users at least, assuming we can get it to work on Homebrew. Well, you would probably lose the blowing function. Dunno why you would think it would affect region lock and the like, but you wouldn't have region lock, being on Homebrew anyways.

Potential side effects? Uhh, you mess up and your game doesn't load, and so you have to redo the process again. If you're worried about bricking via Homebrew you're worrying too much.

  9. You should be able to play online, post to Miiverse, and do other things while on Homebrew, right? Also, what happens if you load the game from the HOME Menu? Will it still launch like normal?

More or less. If you load from the standard Sysnand home menu (aka just booting up the 3ds normally) without any cfw then yes it should work as normal.

  10. Hi guys, long time lurker here but I created an account just for this. Also I had never planned on installing homebrew or CFW of any sort on my 3DS but the lack of dual audio kind of crossed the line for me. I've done some googling but the whole process wasn't very clear to me.

Anyway I have a New 3DSXL at 10.5, and a NA Special Edition copy of the game, and what I'm interested in patching are the Japanese VA, and the Name Restoration. How do I actually go about doing all this? Do I need to install homebrew through Themehax/Browserhax/Menuhax? How do I patch the game ROM? Do I extract the ROM from the cartridge and patch it or patch directly onto the cartridge somehow?

Lastly thank you Team If for doing this, you guys are godsend seriously.

    Assuming this works with HANS...

At 10.5, use BrowserHax to access the Homebrew Menu (and install MenuHax for offline access), then you will need to dump your game, obtain xorpads (via tutorial), and you'll drop it into a HANS folder on your SD card. Then instead of starting the game normally, launch Homebrew and start it via HANS. (It is impossible and would be a bad idea to patch the cartridge iteself).

  11. Completely random question, (and a weird one, I know) but how difficult would it be for me to go about changing Lazwald's name to Lazward? I know it seems strange to want to change one letter but I really like the name Lazward and I was wondering if it was possible.

You'd have to change every script file in which be appears. There are no defined variables for character names (except the MU), so you'd have to go through the patch files with a text editor, use the find function, replace all instances, and repack it up. Honestly if you know what you're doing it shouldn't take over 30 minutes.

  12. Just to confirm, do you intend to make the patch work with the EU Special Edition?

    Yup.

All you need is an SD Card, right? Do you need a Physical or Digital copy? Hopefully it's both. Also, will this end in a lock? By that, I mean potential console banning if used online.

Depends on how you do it, but yes, it's possible with just an SD card (using a cfw). Digital WORKS, but having a physical copy is so much easier. And it won't lock you if you create a .cia and install that into your cfw.

2 more questions: Will there be subs for the lines for the amie? And how soon do you think it'll be finished? (The audio seems easy enough, but, re-adding amje might be a challenge)

    No subs.

How soon? No idea. Absolutely no idea. Maybe 2-3 weeks after release? That's a rough estimate. Maybe less. Maybe more.

  13. WE HAVE MOVED TO THIS THREAD. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS CURRENT THREAD.

    -------------------------

    Hello!

This is the official topic for Team If's project, the Delocalization and Restoration of Lost Content of Fire Emblem: Fates (NA).

Please post all questions you have relating to the patch here. A team member or fellow forum follower will try to answer your question as soon as possible.

    Planned Patch Files:

    - Amie Restoration: Restore face-rubbing into Fire Emblem: Fates. The blowing functionality may be lost. We may be unable to do this.

    IMPORTANT:

It is suggested that a fresh save be used for any content restoration patch, as the game is accessing content previously unavailable, players may experience problems with their new content going to and from patched/unpatched; Also, do not use any content restorations online, this could lead to either bans from Nintendo, or you could possibly crash other player's games.

Note: When using the undub patch, voice options 4 and 5 will result in a silent MU if the save is loaded unpatched.

Why? Because options 4 and 5 don't exist in the localization.

Note: The current name patch is only for the main story + status screen on-screen names. Why? Because supports also have to be individually recompressed.

    There's 1.1k support files. That's not a thing we'll do now. :)

Note: The fanslation is still a WIP. Please report any errors to the error log.

Note: Playable Chrom, Lissa, and Frederick is released as a .cia. This means it is cfw only, and since we can't release official DLC, this will cause all your active DLC to be deleted.

This post will be updated later with more detailed instructions.

    [spoiler=FAQ (Technical Questions)]

    FAQ:

Q: What versions of this game will this work on?

    A: Look up.

Q: Can I use this patch?

A: Yes, you can. Depending on what firmware you're using, what you can patch differs!

    Q: Firmware?

    A: Here's the breakdown:

If your firmware is at or below, 9.2, you can install a cfw (ReiNand is recommended), and use that to play our patch. As a .cia installion, online will work.

If your firmware is between 9.3 and 10.3, you can either use Homebrew, or downgrade to 9.2

If your firmware is 10.4-10.6, your only choice is using Homebrew to temporarily patch your rom.

    Q: Homebrew?

A: Homebrew is, simply a put, a hack released by smealum and others that allows us to make use of our 3DS a bit more.

Homebrew comes with a "HANS" function, which will temporarily patch your ROM with our patch.

Q: Can I use online with the HANS patch?

    A: Nope.

Q: Can I use DLC with HANS?

A: Not as of yet. We are not the developers of Homebrew.

    Q: What exactly is DLC?

A: Anything that isn't on your physical cart when you load it in. Or, basically, anything you downloaded from the eshop.

    More to come.

[spoiler=FAQ (Team If, Release Schedule, Ponies, etc)]

    FAQ:

    Q: Who are you guys?

A: People who have their reasons.

    Q: Can I help?

A: Send any active team member your Discord. You must be 18 years of age or older to join. Chat sometimes turns NSFW.

Q: Are their any requirements for being on the team?

    A: Don't be a dumbass. Welcome aboard :).

Q: Is working with you guys just work related only?

A: 99% of the time we're just messing around :).

    Q: When's your next release?

A: When we want to release it.

    Q: Can I donate?

A: Donating is grounds for a DMCA from Nintendo, so no.

Q: Do you guys like ponies?

    A: Absolutely.
