  1. I wasn't even being mean. Just honest. XD Calm down. I saw your post after I posted. I was attempting to put the conversation back on track by referring to the other pages anyways.
  2. I'm just going to go ahead and assume you're one of those tumblr sheep, who has no legit or valid opinion they crafted for themselves and chalk you up to either being a stupid troll, or an ignorant child. But on the topic of her actual supports, it really does seem weird and all over the place. None of it is really....offensive presay, but I have to wonder if part of it is just four guys in a room, writing and cracking themselves up and somehow it getting into the game. I know I work in an industry that has a lot of group work, and I swear, when you lock 3-4 people up to do a project, you inevitably get a REALLY bad idea, that 75% of the team agree with, because it's an inside joke and they think it's HILARIOUS. (It's actually really annoying when you're part of the 15% who doesn't think it's funny at ALL). Idk, it kinda reads like that to me. Inside jokes that aren't exactly written very well, but some are definitely okay. I can't remember that many questionable supports (if any) in Awakening---though my memory might suck, and I don't think I supported everyone because I shaft characters I don't like *coughVirioncoughcough*, so we'll see what translations do.
  3. I know. I like manly Corrin because the default hairstyle looks better on him and his neck doesn't look weird. XD But as you can see, I defaulted to original build, because I really like that hairstyle and from what I've read about Corrin's personality in the games, I think it fits more!
  4. But really. Don't even go on Tumblr, which is ridiculous. People are literally sending me hate messages about being homophobic, biphobic, a rapist, and supporting gay conversion, because I said people blew it out of proportion. And what makes it more ironic is that I AM bisexual, so I'm not sure where they're getting these things. It's kinda silly, really. People just read one thing, latch onto it, and like sheep, follow it off a cliff. Hahaha. Bu this forum is really sane, which is a breath of fresh air. It will allllll blow over soon, anyways. I'm still looking forward to the game. Gah!
  5. Even so, he had a point. LGBT people DO put too much stock in their sexual identity. And then they go crazy at the slightest mention that is 'negative'. I see it all the time in Transgender people especially, who literally get offended at TINY things, that nobody meant harm by. And I still think some of the people who are going crazy at this whole thing, are those people who can't separate their own personal identity from their sexual one. No matter what you've gone through, it doesn't make it right.
  6. Urgh, I'm a sucker for love/looks. Awakening was based on hair colors and who had the best supports. I didn't even know about the stats on my original play through, and even once I did, I didn't care that much (maybe a little). But really I think supports. I really loved Cordelia and Ricken's supports as well as Cordelia/Gregor (and Severa got red hair on both!), so I couldn't force myself to pair her with anyone else! I'm gonna do the same for this game. Love first. And if I'm torn between TWO great supports, I'll go with the person with the best stats. XD
  7. This is EXACTLY the problem. But...at the same time, for a lot of gay people, it is the only thing they have. I would go into a really long explanation, but suffice to say, when people are rejected/abused/bullied for ONE part of who they are, they tend to latch onto it, and then it becomes ALL they are in a sense. I'm bisexual, but for me, it doesn't DEFINE me. It only defines if I currently have a girlfriend or boyfriend. It's not a conversation starter (or even in conversations I have-usually), and while I DO care, and I am INVOLVED, I don't let it take over and I can look at things pretty objectively. This for instance, is not really THAT big of a deal at all. I don't think people should get really angry at anything even resembling opposition, because it's just silly. I'm glad IS put gay marriage in it. Is it perfect? No. But I'm happy they DID it. And I DEFINITELY don't think it was wrong for them to put it in the game, because having visibility--no matter how poorly executed--is a big thing, and I'm really glad they put it in.
  8. It's a game with magic. Children grow up in a separate dimension where time passes faster. Please don't talk about what's unrealistic. -_- Also, if you're so concerned about biology, they could easily just say it was surrogate children. Which is less unrealistic, and would add in the biological portion. If they do children/gay pairings again, they shouldn't make it where they can't have children. It's ridiculous.
  9. Yeah, I remember that Harry Potter scene. Not to mention it happens a lot in other books as well. People just took this and ran like a herd of sheep. Really sad, actually. If anyone reads it, it's kinda funny and obviously well intentioned of trying to help her. The only part I found odd was the whole 'treasure' yourself thing (cultural I'm assuming), and then the fact she's obviously a lesbian (I'm pretty sure they only wrote in that men are 'okay' to justify the fact that she ONLY supports with men), but it's not like the game handled same-sex romances very well ANYWAYS (not being able to get the kids anyone), so it shouldn't even be THAT big of a controversy. Bad handling. Bad writing. But nothing that's outright offensive and 'down with Fire Emblem', as I've seen on Tumblr/a few users here. *shrugs* Regrettable, and I do hope they change the 'treasure yourself' part of it in the localization, but the rest is obviously tongue in cheek joke of Kamui just being helpful.
  10. It's totally not warranted at all. Just stupid people who couldn't interpret advertising very well. I followed the games advertising, and they were just trying to keep the story under wraps so the player got a surprise while playing. But people got unneccessarily mad because of their OWN lack of understanding. It was silly. And because of that, I just ignore Amazon reviews in general. Lol
  11. Yeah, realistically, it would mean sleeping with another woman. XD I mean I don't see a huge problem with this, in-universe especially in olden days. BUT, since technically they're bisexual, you could always say the child came from that lonely one night stand after a battle, and both of them brought their biological children into the relationship. There are so many avenues that could support the whole 'inheritance' thing, and it would have been only a few lines into a support/story.
  12. Instead of adoption, they could have just done surrogacy. I mean it's not that unrealistic to think they could have had a surrogate for Kanna if they wanted to. Soooo, that completely goes around the whole 'adoption' issue. I think it's kinda ridiculous they think adoption is the only option for gay parents to have legitmate biological children. And honestly I doubt the players would care THAT much the mechanics of things if they just dropped in a line about Kanna or Epoinne being surrogate children.
  13. I'm personally really happy for Awakening. I started FE wayyy back when I was kid, playing Blazing Sword and then Sacred Stones. Which were the first games (aside from Pokemon) that I actually played through to completion and then REPLAYED. Then of course Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, but they lacked that portability (obviously) that I so enjoyed as a kid. And Awakening was great for me, personally. Before it, nobody I knew even knew of the Fire Emblem series. If I found anyone who knew of it, it was SUCH a big deal, because it was so rare. But now I have plenty of people I know who played Awakening and loved it, and I think that's really cool, and it makes me happy that they'll keep with the series. Also, despite what people say, I actually really liked Awakening's story/characters, because it was cute and fun, and made me laugh. It wasn't some great thinkpiece or riveting plot, but for what it was, I loved it, and also I played the game wayyyy too many times, and made so many different characters, and sometimes when I'm bored I just like to play a DLC chapter or two, just to strategize.
  14. It honestly doesn't make sense you can't get children considering both 'magic' and surrogacy-the more valid of the two options. They could have both had surrogates, which solves the whole issue of 'inheritance', because they would biologically Kamui's and Zero's child respectively. I mean honestly. Very dissapointed you can't get the kids---but I don't like F!Kanna anyways. Too bad you can't get M!Kanna as male Kamui. Just silly.
