FE4's is the best.

hmm. are there enough enemies left to the point where your entire team can get wiped out in one enemy phase? probably not, but that's all I can think of.

I cried at Conquest Chapter 10. In all seriousness, probably having to kill Benny on Birthright. I like that guy.

get your Avatar killed in the fight.

So, I'm doing my first run of fates on Conquest Hard-Classic. I've been having trouble with Chapter 10 for a while now, and i'm also stuck on geting all the BEXP in RD 2-3, so I haven't played much FE lately. I decide to pick up Fates again, and I finally beat Chapter 10. I finally beat the chapter, and guess what? While i'm saving... The game crashes! And now I have to restart the level. I am really, really salty. Getting hit by a crit when you've almost beat a chapter is bad enough, it's a whole new level of BS to have to restart AFTER YOU'VE BEATEN IT, for reasons that don't even have anything to do with the game. Anyway, I just wanted to share that. It really sucks that it had to happen on Conquest Chapter 10, of all chapters. I should get a new 3ds soon since this one really hasn't been working properly lately.

Do you think BK actually MEANT to kill Greil?
kantoorfarina replied to Dragoncat's topic in GameCube and Wii Era
Sephiran was going to have them all executed, though. Technically the occupation was still there but you know what I meant, Numida's rule was over. -
Wallace is bad. Canas is good. Oswin is one of the best armor Knights in the series. Priscilla is better than Serra. Nino is one of the worst units in the game. She joins about 5 chapters before Endgame with awful stats. I'd say Florina is the best for her join time. Lowen isn't very good, Kent. Wil and Rebecca are both terrible units in general, Wil if you absolutely must use one. Bartre is better, promoting Dart is a waste. Guy is good or bad depending on his Strength, Raven's bases make him one of the best units in HHM.

Pretty much sums it up. Sure it gives a bit of favoritism to the japan-inspired side, but calling it racism is a stupid over exaggeration. Also I don't see how anyone could interpret butlers as evil.

Do you think BK actually MEANT to kill Greil?
kantoorfarina replied to Dragoncat's topic in GameCube and Wii Era
The senate as a whole definitely didn't all know the BK was Zelgius, since, quote from Numida in their pre-battle conversation: "Damn you, ghost! If it weren't for you, i'd be free to do whatever I want with Daein!" (Which, by the way, doesn't make much sense to me either considering by the time the BK showed up, the Begnion occupation had already been destroyed) -
Good to see there's one responsible person here. I have extra hours on school tomorrow from skipping so much but i'm still playing Fates till morning. Granted, i'm homeschooled and my school time is only a bit over half of what people in public school have.

It's now on the EShop. Woo! I'm a bit sad that it really is two separate games, but I wasn't getting my hopes up anyway. Currently preparing myself dinner as I download it. I'm not sure if it's been released in Europe yet or not, though.

Killing the Black Knight in 3-7
kantoorfarina replied to kantoorfarina's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Hm, I suppose you're right. From what I gather, the Black Knight didn't exactly let him win, it's more the Black Knight just decided he was done testing Ike, so neither really won. I think the best solution would be to make his dialogue more like, Ike wounded the Black Knight not to the point where it defeated him, and the Black Knight simply left the battlefield to avoid being killed by something else before they got far enough in to the battle to where they could decide whether Ike had gotten strong enough to beat him or not. -
I've been stumped on this for a while now. Is there any particularly good way to do it aside from "just keep trying"?

Killing the Black Knight in 3-7
kantoorfarina replied to kantoorfarina's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Yeah, that doesn't make much sense. I don't think Ike defeating him here would make much sense whether the dialogue says he beat the BK or not. If he did beat him here, then Zelgius would realize he was never a match for Greil early and the fight with him in Part 4 would be pointless, and since he doesn't, that means Ike required Yune's blessing to beat the BK so it's kind of a hollow victory among some other things. I think the writers just didn't expect anyone to be able to kill the BK in 3-7, especially considering the only way Ike can damage him is with capped strength and a Steel Sword forge, -
Unpopular opinions that you have for Fire Emblem
kantoorfarina replied to henrymidfields's topic in General Fire Emblem
As for the pre-awakening FE characters being as gimmicky as the Awakening ones, I think that really depends on which character. Jill has more development in her finger than everyone in Awakening combined, while Ilyana is just as bad if not worse than most of the characters in Awakening. It probably comes from how there's a lot more supports in Awakening and the writers can't be bothered to make every one unique or good, which is why a lot of them are just characters repeating their gimmick, while in the pre-awakening games there's less supports and the writers are in a lot less of a rush to flesh out the characters. This is very apparent in almost every one of Kellam's supports. Also I think the support limit was very much needed. Some support combinations are already pretty broken, supporting 5 people at once would be stupid overpowered. -
Unpopular opinions that you have for Fire Emblem
kantoorfarina replied to henrymidfields's topic in General Fire Emblem
I tend to avoid discussions about unpopular opinions because they're generally just people bragging about how special they are because they have a rare and unique opinion, but I suppose i'll chime in. Micaiah is overhated. At the very least she's a much better character than Lyn and the self-inserts, who're some of the most popular and well-liked characters in the series. I'm not going to have any s-supports on any of my playthroughs of Fates.(not sure if that's unpopular but most people I know are at least marrying their MU to someone for kids) Phantom Ship wasn't that bad. I can think of 10 chapters off the top of my head that were harder. Eliwood X Fiora is my favorite FE7 ship. Anyway, whether your opinion of Awakening is unpopular or not really depends on where you look. Most people consider Awakening the best game in the series and don't care about the other games, but on most FE forums the majority agrees Awakening was pretty bad and the other games are better. -
Killing the Black Knight in 3-7
kantoorfarina replied to kantoorfarina's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
True. With Ike it's more "you're not strong enough to beat me still but you've made progress", while defeating him with someone else is "Impossible... I've been defeated?". Still, it's extra dialogue and I like getting things like that. -
Killing the Black Knight in 3-7
kantoorfarina replied to kantoorfarina's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Hm. Say, with the Black Knight at 2 HP, couldn't we have someone like Shinon do an extra 1 damage for Ike to finish off the Black Knight? -
Killing the Black Knight in 3-7
kantoorfarina replied to kantoorfarina's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Oh, wow. Ike doesn't do nearly as much damage as I thought. the BK doesn't just re-equip Alondite at the start of the chapter? I assumed he'd do that. Hmm. If Haar attacks the Black Knight once with a Hammer, then Ranulf attacks and we have Reyson use the Galdr on him instead, would Ike be able to finish him off assuming he still hadn't equipped Alondite, or would that just kill him? I highly doubt Parity works, but I suppose I could try that. -
Killing the Black Knight in 3-7
kantoorfarina replied to kantoorfarina's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Ah, you're right. Hmm. Would 2 hits from Haar kill the Black Knight or would it weaken him to the point where Ike with a forged Steel sword can finish him off? I want to kill the Black Knight with Ike for the special dialogue. -
Killing the Black Knight in 3-7
kantoorfarina replied to kantoorfarina's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Question, would Ike with capped Skill and Luck and Wrath be able to crit the Black Knight while holding a Hammer? I'm thinking we might not need Haar at all. -
Gaiden hasn't aged well, so that would be the best to give it to. All the other games are perfectly fine and sorry if I sound cynical but all a remake would do is degrade the female characters, water down the gameplay and ruin characters like Dorcas and Calill.

Doesn't Rolf join, like, 2 chapters before Astrid? He's not even a good unit for those chapters, and considering Astrid has Paragon she's much easier to train and will become useful a lot faster than Rolf. Plus she has extra movement and isn't bow-locked when promoted. Astrid is objectively better in almost every way. Anyway, Titania, Oscar and Marcia are some of the best units in the game. Personally I like using Boyd, Gatrie, Volke and Nephenee but i'm not sure how efficent they are objectively.
