  1. I loved Tsubaki and hope they continue to break the mold with stereotypes/tropes. FE is already a trope-y game and its fun to uphold traditions, but sometimes a breath of fresh air is needed. Honestly, just looking at our main cast/3 Lords I've got semi-high hopes for new stuff. A female lord isn't unheard of, but Claude? I'm excited. (I wouldn't be surprised if Niles' popularity made them confident enough to try such a thing. yay.)
  2. I love how skills work in Awakening/Fates and would prefer it stay that way. I literally can't remember anything from my time playing SoV (that's how bored I was) so I don't even recall how skills supposedly worked there. I agree with the sentiment that I don't want anything in Heroes affecting the main series; Heroes is a fanservice mobage and should have 0 influence on core games.
  3. Lesbians are some of the strongest kinds of people I know. If I could have an army exclusively full of powerful lesbians, I'd take it, too.
  4. I doubt it would be changed in the JP version (teacher/student shojo manga are really popular) but I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to find some angle to make it less creepy for the NA release, since that trope holds 0 value here. Not entirely cutting teacher/student S supports, but altering dialogue in some way for it to not be as weird as a literal translation would've.
  5. Yep, there was Hilda and Mercedes. Hilda is the pink-haired girl. I'm not sure we actually got a look at Mercedes.
  6. Byleth has portrait art. We just didn't get a high-def release of it. (though that's probably what you meant hfhfh)
  7. Went to their website and their portfolio page returned a 404 error. The level of professionalism.. Though, their "projects" page did work(please just settle on one, thanks CoT). Well, they did SoV and Awakening and those were pretty solid in terms of the dub quality. Still, could you please provide a source? Because I haven't heard any of this and of course, it isn't on their projects page.
  8. Let's see. 54 in total. Here's the list. I know I've had multiple 5* Peri buuut I hate her so she was sacrificed.
  9. Bridal Tharja pegged me to hell and back, taking nearly 200 orbs to get (and I got uhhhh, 3 other red 5*s before I finally rolled her?) but it seems like her daughter wasn't that stubborn. Got her on my third roll, using up only 9 orbs + the free roll. Thank youuuuu Noire! So glad I didn't have to dig into my orb hoard. Good luck to everybody else!
  10. Maybe only the Lord characters will have formations/subunits. That makes the most sense to me. I don't remember many details from the trailer though, so maybe we saw other non-Lord's using formations/subunits.
  11. I don't know why this piece slipped my mind at the time, but I second this. You have no idea how reinvigorated I felt playing the same-sex mod for Awakening. Now I'm hoping there's more same-sex options outside of the avatar. Mostly because Switch CFW is nowhere near the level of 3DS's and its going to take years to get same-sex mod for 3H... (The fact that the community even needs to do something like this, though, is depressing. Gay rights, Nintendo. Gay rights.)
  12. I like it. Its good, "subtle" story telling. I don't necessarily think class choice should be limited, per say, but if all class upgrades make narrative sense, that'd be great. That's why I liked the A+ support system back in Fates. Not all supports explicitly tell us that Person A taught Person B how to fight like them, but its kind of implied that they spent enough time training together to learn new skills.
  13. I don't think I could write up a whole short story like everybody else has, but here's my thoughts. We keep the Avatar, but ala Robin and Chrom, you have a close friend whose the actual focus of the story/main character. I'd like a story that's more centered around "starting from the bottom and working your way up". Maybe a rebellion begins among the impoverished people in an imbalanced and corrupt country. It could be a more lowkey rebellion, such as the MU&co worming their way into the ranks of higher class and tearing it down from within. Maybe a "robinhood" type story. Or, you start as a royal who mingles very regularly with the lower classes in secret. You see the distress, imbalance, and harm the upper class causes. Maybe there's a dramatic inciting incident that pushes the royal to start making changes. Maybe your best friend is actually the royal and you're lower class. Either way, I want the story to be political. The themes would revolve around the harm a selfish upper-class can do; the damage that turning a blind eye to the suffering of others does. Basically, eat the rich, love thy neighbor. I'd like the cast to be close-knit and well-developed. In my opinion, everybody should contribute to the plot in some way. This would severely limit the amount of characters/units there could be, or at least would require a more delicate, thought-out handling of the plot.. but I think it's the most ideal situation. Also, everyone is bisexual. Maybe some same-sex exclusive S-supports. On top of that, nobody actually gets married over the course of the story.. its all "post-game", mentioned during the credits, or restricted to the epilogue. I wouldn't mind there being a politically-motivated marriage though during the story. Personal skills ala Fates makes a return. Oh, and there's a male dancer. No lolis. In fact, you can't even marry/marry off any of the units who look younger than 18. Period. Kozaki returns to design the characters and Studio Khara fucks off forever. No 2D cutscenes. Studio Anima animates the CG cutscenes. Dual audio, pls. Magic has a more detailed system (black/white/etc). I'm liking how the "my castle" feature is looking so far in 3H, and wouldn't mind having something similar. Since the cast is so limited, everybody can at least A support everybody. I loved the A+ and S support class system in Fates, so that makes a return. No 2nd gen during the story. Epilogue, sure. There's a heavy emphasis on the color palette and visual presentation. As you can see, this is.. very self-indulgent. But I may play with these concepts a bit more in my off-time.
  14. Ninian. I've never played game(s?) that she's in, except for Heroes.. and I really like her in Heroes. I spent nearly $100 trying to get her when she first dropped, and never managed it. I got lucky though and picked up her Bridal Alt and I am in love. I love her (Heroes?) design and I'm just a huge fan of ice/snow motifs in general. If not Ninian, then Inigo. I know in the main games he isn't actually a dancer, but I've always adored and enjoyed his character. I was so happy and proud of him when his dancer alt got added to Heroes. Seriously, a huge victory. If I had to pick from a main game I've actually played though, I'd say Olivia. I think her character is a picked exaggerated at times but I love pink-haired girls and I love her supports.
  15. I feel like the narration in the trailer implied a time-skip. Wasn't something like "One day, I will return" said? I can't remember exactly, but it felt like it was setting up a time-skip.
  16. @Talcinel, can I just say, I love how you call Edelgard "Edel"? That's so cute! I didn't even consider that. You've just made Edel a bit more endearing to me, haha.
  17. I'm interpreting this as a fun, light-hearted jest. FE can get really tropey, that's just a fact. But it can still be enjoyable to see old tropes make a return. p: I, personally, am looking forward to 3H's Anna. Also looking forward to Cain/Abel.
  18. Yes. Because that would mean they're listening to us and trying to be more diverse. I hated how they localized and ruined Niles in Fates, but I was still grateful for the opportunity to at least marry him. And in that situation, its a learning experience for the company. But also.. you're just bringing up weird hypotheticals that completely miss the point. I'm not sure specifically if you guys were originally arguing about there being more same-sex options, or just more options in general (ala Fates), but in the case of same sex options.. every single option matters.
  19. I second this sentiment. When I played through Birthright I didn't marry anybody because I didn't like any of the bachelorettes. Though there were plenty of Birthright men I would've married if I could've, so my BR experience felt just that much more underwhelming than my CQ one.
  20. I'd honestly rather there were less characters to choose from. Having a huge cast did not aid the writing/story in any way with Fates. I hope that all characters in 3H are tied to the main plot and relevant at least in some meaningful way. And also, that they're all bisexual, because gay rights. Is anybody else kind of worried about the troubling implications of playing as a "Teacher" who could potentially marry their "student/s"? I've been thinking about it over the past few days and I find it kind of worrisome. The main quartet look to be within the same age range so it isn't as.. slimy, I guess, but still. For me, that'd honestly be a reason I'd not marry anyone. Just like how I loooove Camilla, but never married her in Fates because I did not want to hear her calling me her "brother" all the time.
  21. If there's a Nintendo Direct going on, I'd pull up multiple sites they usually sell these at and refresh over the course of the Direct in case the SE gets announced then. I got really lucky with Fates SE with a similar method.
  22. Only if you want stiff, one-emotion portraits at weirdly dynamic angles and clashing styles on a per-character basis. The point of portraits is to display the character from at least their chest up, at usually a 3/4ths angle so it can be flipped and used on either side of the screen. On top of that, the portraits need to have different versions for different expressions, which means the portraits have to be simple and easy to edit, or at least set up in a way that makes it easy to alter the face and anything else needed. So, no, you really couldn't effectively have really detailed, dynamic artwork as portraits. There's ways to do it (ala Dangan Ronpa), but that requires an expressive style to pull off. Otherwise, you'd have to sacrifice a LOT of elements in favor of high-details.
  23. I'm surprised but also.. not surprised. Heroes is accessible and has reached an audience of non-Fire Emblem fans. Of course we'd gets lots of newcomers. Still, I'm grateful for it. More gay content for me to gobble up.
  24. Very cool and really impressive, dude! Surprised to see something like this so soon after the trailer. Props man. p:
  25. Somebody suggested Niles but I'll be really surprised if thats the case. His hair is way thicker and fluffier than what's in the silhouette. I agree with the Gunnthra bit though. She was my first thought too. Other than that though I'm completely stumped. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
